Once Sinead had done this song I really didn't think anyone else would ever do it justice. Chris was the man for the job. They both did an outstanding job with this song and boy do I miss him.
Chris Cornell is easily one of the best singers ever. The emotion in his voice just pulls on the heart strings. Only person who can compare is Chris Stapleton. Just pulls the emotions out. Beautiful reaction.
I heard a musician say that it was widely known that if Chris Cornell covered your song it became his song because of the Raw Emotion he would put into it would exceed even the original person who sang it.
Written by the Late Great Prince ❤️ Made famous by Sinead O'Conner ❤️ ❤️ Hearts & Souls touched by Chris Cornell ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ Great raw & emotional reaction by Tom Tuffnuts ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ **SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONGS, COMES FROM THE MOST TORTURED OF SOULS**
I saw him live a little more than a year before he died. If this impresses you, that would have floored you. Just him with a guitar and an accompanist. I’m so glad I went. What a talent.
The same recording session, Chris does a version of "fell on black days" that not enough people react to. It's outstanding and shows the vocal range he still possessed a few years before his passing.
Tom, Chris is my fav vocalist, I have watched several reactions to this iconic performance. I must say yours was the most heartfelt and genuine. Thanks for giving Chris the accolades he deserves.
Chris’s cover of Guns ‘N Roses Patience is really worth reacting to. He recorded it in his home studio after teaching his daughter, Toni, to play it on guitar. His children made a video for it, and his wife released on his birthday, July 20, 2020. It’s really good, but bittersweet to have “new” music from Chris.
What a beautiful reaction! I don’t do idols but Chris with that incredible voice, the natural soul clutching cadence that just tares at your heart, he was and always will be my only idol. What a great reaction man! RIP Chris Cornell.
Great reaction! I will subscribe solely based on that! Chris is my favorite! I have listened to so many live performances and my favorite is When I’m Down live at the Troubadour. Totally showcases his voice and his own lyrics. You want to be blown away, give it a try! Even if on your own time 🙂
That performance of When I’m Down at the Troubadour is beyond incredible. Chris’s song. His cover of Ticket to Ride at the Troubadour is mind blowing. He changes the meaning to a dark song and even added lyrics I choke up everytime I hear his voice
Please give Chris live at the Troubadour Jan 2010 "When I'm Down" a look-see. It's an amazing performance! Nothing compares to you, Chris. You are missed.
Even Elton John called him the voice of rock... and he was not wrong. such a tragic loss. there is a very cool version of this he sings with his daughter Toni. He so effortlessly goes from a huge belt to soft heartfelt tone. I mean look how litlle he actually opens his mouth but just gets that beautiful sound out. the best version of this song by far
Please watch his live performance of When I’m Down from the Troubadour. One of his most passionate performances from his first solo record between soundgarden and Audioslave
I saw& shot photos(I'm a concert photographer for a radio station)Chris Cornell perform with Soundgarden... he passed away a few weeks after I saw them. This was a huge loss in the music industry. His voice is so amazing in this version.
Wow. My very first time watching any of your videos and I sure picked the right one to see who you are. ♥️ Thank you for being so vulnerable and so genuine in your reaction to this beautiful legend. Definitely tragic he’s gone too soon but we can at least make sure his music continues on by introducing the next generation to his unique, unmatched and amazing talents. After watching just this one video of yours, I subscribed and look forward to watching more of your videos, rocking out and enjoying seeing you discover, or rediscover, amazing music!
His smirk at the end I want to think he thought about Kurt, 20 years earlier and said goodbye the same way. It's very sad but I think it was his Magnum Opus in his way like Kurt's was.
This was tough to get through. There is an honesty to the music that gets lost with all of the production and spectacle of a concert or in a studio, but this... Hauntingly beautiful and thank god we have this preserved forever.
In my opinion, very few artists knew how to pull the heart strings like no one else, just by the way they sing, Chris, Eddie Vedder and Chester were/are at the top of that short list. Most covers by Chris, he made them his own, even Michael Jackson's Billie Jean which is not an emotional song Chris turned it into one with that soulful voice. Even if Chris is not with us anymore his legacy, his voice, his passion/pain n talent still lives with us thru his music. Great reaction vid 👍🏻
❤ thank you so much for that tribute I agree there will never be his voice as good as hints Eddie bitter is probably just about as good again thank you and I will subscribe to your Channel
"Like listening to a ghost" ............that one got me right in the feels. And for me that's 100% accurate. Grew up just north of Seattle while soundgarden was my favorite local band before and during the Seattle grunge explosion. After his passing every song I hear from him just makes me sad. He was a very kind, humble and wonderful guy. And when you have real life memories of him, it is listening to his ghost.
I'm so glad I found you! SUBBED! The reactor that's knows what really happened and I listened to so many reactions....Yes Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington were BESTFRIEND'S and were about to expose" EVIL 😈 Child Molesters & in a week they said it was "SUICIDE " BS We Know what happened and I remember Chester playing at Chris's funeral 💔 I'm 42 and grew up listening to Them, There in God's hands and I love and miss them so much! God Bless......
So much amazing content from Chris and I don't mean the standard radio songs....those are good too but to deep dive into his music is incredible. Check out Black Rain....you won't be disappointed.
There are only a few voices that you listen to & hear their soul, emotion, & angst, just to name a few - Chris Cornell, Kurt Cobain, Dave Grohl, Layne Staley, Brent Smith, Chester Bennington, Zach de la Rocha & Eddie Vedder, they all seem to wear their heart on their sleeve when they sing.
TY, he was a great singer, well done. Would you do / Diana Ankudinova - HUMAN / She is a contralto, and they are quite rare in the world population. Her voice will stun you..thank you.
Always thought Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder have the best vocals in the world. Besides Sound Garden and Audio Slave there was also Temple of the Dog. It makes me sad listening to him too...
They were both murdered. Dont make comments about Chris you dont know what you are talking about. And Chester also. Please dont be disrespectful they did not take their own lives.
My personal opinion......Best voice ever created
agreed
That makes 2 of us.
Definitely in rock/alternative/grunge etc.. Sooooo soothing. This song makes me want to weep like a school girl every time I hear it.
Chris was my cousin. Thank you all for the positive comments. We miss him dearly
"All the flowers that you planted mama, in your backyard" that lines crushes me when HE sings it. 💔
As a grown man who grew up listening to his work... me too.
Exactly
If I managed to go that long without crying, that’s where I finally break.
Me too. I've got tears flowing

I consider it a privilege to hear Mr. Cornell sing.

Creepy maybe but it’s like he’s singing about himself to me😥. Nothing compares to Chris.💙RIP💙

Chris was the greatest. Miss him so much.
I break down every other time I watch this...
I saw him live a little more than a year before he died. If this impresses you, that would have floored you. Just him with a guitar and an accompanist. I’m so glad I went. What a talent.
This is so fucking beautiful. I love this version
Well said!!🤘🤘
I hear Chris sing this song, and I feel like I'm hearing the entire world singing it to him. Rest in peace Chris. We love you.
Watching your raw emotions as you react to Chris is beautiful. Thank you for being open.
Raw?!?! Wow
Sinead O'Connor had a big hit in 1990 with this one. Chris' singing hits me hard - indescribably beautiful. Thank you.

Yesss, I hope he can react to it
You have to hear his cover of "Billie Jean." Just phenomenal.
Michael Jackson Billie Jean???
@@TomTuffnuts Yah. He covers MJ's signature song: ua-cam.com/video/R0uWF-37DAM/v-deo.html

Thats the version to go with !! ^^^
Absolutely! It's a slow, blues sounding version and it's amazing.

I am happy I lived on the same planet at the same time with this man.
I am thankful for all the great music Chris has left for us to enjoy.
Not gonna lie, this performance makes me tear up every time I hear it. Another Seattle icon gone WAY too soon. 😢 Thanks for a great reaction, Tom!
Please give Chris live at the Troubadour Jan 2010 "When I'm Down" a look-see. It's an amazing performance!
Nothing compares to you, Chris. You are missed.
Chris Cornell is the master and such a gift. Seeing him live was just incredible.
I can listen to this song all day with no problem. The minute that Chris sings it, I cry like a baby...

Chris's Daughter is also an incredible singer as well! Chris Cornell vocals are haunting! Dude had so much talent. R.I.P.
Please watch his live performance of When I’m Down from the Troubadour.
One of his most passionate performances from his first solo record between soundgarden and Audioslave
Nothing compares to you Chris! The world truly misses You!! ;(
I'll forever miss him!
People don’t realize the power in music!!!
My favorite performance of his is and will always be the album version of "Say Hello To Heaven"...pure perfection...for his friend.
Absolutely fantastic the way this man feels for chris cornell
Effortless...sometimes there are no words, you just feel it!!!
Wow, you bring a warm feeling in my heart with your pure reaction. Thank you.
Best reaction video I’ve saw!! I’ve often wondered how do they keep it together❤️❤️

*hugs* this is emotional and he’s a loss we will never move on from. But, as you said it’s best to keep them alive by appreciating their gift.
‘This man was a gift”.. Amen😢
❤ thank you so much for that tribute I agree there will never be his voice as good as hints Eddie bitter is probably just about as good again thank you and I will subscribe to your Channel
couldn't agree with you more. a great loss to the music industry. R.I.P Chris.

Rock music died with Chris Cornell...Rip
His daughter Toni singing this song on laye night is beautiful

This was Cornell’s tribute to Prince just after Prince’s death.
He did this before Prince died
Chris Stapleton also did a killer cover you have to check it out.
That comment about listening to a ghost is a great analogy

His star was far too bright and he was gone to quickly. RIP to an icon. We miss you. 💔💔
His version of Gnr Patience👌
A god singer
So much amazing content from Chris and I don't mean the standard radio songs....those are good too but to deep dive into his music is incredible. Check out Black Rain....you won't be disappointed.
GOAT!
As another comment mentioned do his cover of Billie Jean. It's phenomenal!

Honey...God gave you the gift of emotions....never stiffle them....it is seriously bad for your health!!! Besides...it makes you human!!!❤❤❤❤🎶🎼🎵🎸🥁🎤🤘🤘🤘
Yep I know. The world is a lot lonely and far smaller without brother chis. 😞
You paused 1st time and I knew you were going to way before you did 😆
Prince wrote the song for Sinead O'Connor. Never heard Prince sing it.
He did not write this song for Sinead and he had no part in the decision for her to cover it
Hi Tom He has been gone 4yrs just like Chester Bennington. Gone too soon
This is so much better than O’Conner. I hated her version. But I love this. Chris sings so beautifully.
We want to hear him, not you. He's the star.
No one sings like you anyone
Before we disappear, thank me later.
They were both murdered. Dont make comments about Chris you dont know what you are talking about. And Chester also. Please dont be disrespectful they did not take their own lives.
You are exactly right.
Deeply insane comment.
"It takes every ounce of yourself not to breakdown" Exactly why I am listening today. I needed an emotional release.
Prince songs to check out. When Doves Cry, Little Red Corvette, And anything he is shredding live.
