    Such a moving song, and from such a legendary singer, frontman, and personality for many years of this generations music history.
    RIP to Chris, and best wishes to all who have struggled or continue to struggle with their mental, emotional, and physical health. Conversation is the most important thing in my eyes with dealing with the negative atmosphere we all encounter in our lives, especially with depression, or any kind and amount of sadness.

    • @JaySay
      @JaySay 3 роки тому +9

      @@MustObeyTheRules I feel that so many people who are interested in the styles of music he worked in understand that, especially those that he worked with. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been involved in so many other projects past Soundgarden. His work with Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, etc... weren't what brought forth his presence in the genre, but his rep for the decades he spent from the grunge era onward.
      * also personality wise, as in he wasn't like a Gene Simmons kind of character. He was humble, gracious, and kind to everyone he met, at least that is what I heard and saw from him.

    As you and your viewers know, this song was written by PRINCE who was a big fan of Chris (among many artists). Prince has said he wrote the song on guitar but the label didn't want him releasing an acoustic version. They didn't think it would be marketable. Prince wanted O'Connor to release it because of her voice. But he continued to find a Rock band that could release a quality acoustic cover. No doubt Chris achieved that.

    Prince wrote those lyrics 💜. He wrote that song for Sinead O’Connor. Of course he did, a lyrical genius he was ❤️‍🔥. Chris Cornell singing this beautiful song just put the icing on the cake. Absolutely breathtaking. Still so heartbroken 💔 over his death 😢. He was my all time favorite. 🥺

    Any time someone brings up the Bassoon it takes me back to Peter and the Wolf. That was the first time an instrument became a character to me.

    I still love "I am the highway ", but having Chris singing a Prince song.... too bad they never shared a stage. Maybe the are now. Chris and Audioslave kept me going when a girl I loved and a family member had both taken their own lives and for a few months my stone stoic face had the addition of tears ever present welling up over my eyes. To make it worse I had to keep the girl I loved, one had accused the other of actually killing her. I knew both and I have known killers in my life. It was drunken jealousy that was threatening another's life. So I got a plan together and kept trouble from both of their grasps by playing the deputies to protect them from themselves. I would go home every night and listen to Chris and I understand more now than ever. He showed true and open passion with his voice and he could pull off any style of vocals he chose.

    Aaah Brother Geebz...ya took me on a very emotional journey with this song. I was on my way home from work listening to your vid...and I am not ashamed to admit...I had tears in my eyes. This song makes me think of my late wife who passed away from breast cancer in 2015 at the age of 39. We were together for almost 20 years...I miss my girl cause... nothing compares to her...❤️. Thanks brother....I needed that ride....love, peace and chicken grease...❤️✌️🍗

    Wow, Chris was so great. I saw him live 2 weeks before he died in Charlotte, was a great show with Soundgarden, had no idea what was to come. And RIP to Prince too, it is so wild to realize you live in a world where he's gone too. Both were great writers and creators, while Chris was also one of the world's greatest singers, Prince was one of the world's greatest (and underrated only by those who never saw him play) guitar players of all time. The world is diminished without these legends...
    Suggestion for acoustic would be Sevendust's Wait, it is pretty powerful stuff too.
