  • SWAT Paramedic Mike Borrello takes us through the gear he brings to a SWAT call. The main purpose of a SWAT Medic's vest and bag is to stop the bleed, but also to identify and solve any other medical emergencies. Paramedic Borrello walks us through the reasons for certain gear and why he chose the tools that he has on him.

Former SWAT (and volunteer fire-rescue here) ... good call removing the armor extensions. They were very cumbersome (added weight) and restrictive for movement. I pulled mine off as well.

Have you considered a battle belt? If can be beneficial in HABC/(MARC)H. For example I carry 3 pouches
    Connected tqs
A pouch ( npa, opa, cric)
B pouch ( NCD, chest seal)
C pouch (IV, io, packing stuff)
    And a dump pouch

Love it. I too am looking at converting some of my carrier to a “battle belt”. It comes down to mission priorities
