  • @jonnybostok6901
    @jonnybostok6901 5 років тому +2

    Pro tip: keep all your zippers at the top of your bag or pouch and centered. This is so that in low light or no light situations you can still open your bag quickly. We had this as our un-written SOP in my unit in the marines so anyone cane run up to a med bag and get into it quickly. It’s the little things that save lives, awesome kit man maybe move your sig up to your battle belt and completely remove it from your leg. It’ll give quicker access and frees up real estate to kneel down. And get to work.

    Good, informative, well produced content. You see a lot of setups for regular duty use, deployment, etc. but swat medic is one that isn't covered much; not that I intend on becoming a swat medic anytime soon but it's always interesting to see what sort of rationales people have for their gear choice and how they came to those conclusions.

Like where I work, our NET team (basically same as swat) has 2 full time doctors that we got part time certified as police officers simply so they could run NET missions with us. They’re issued a weapon and all but not expected to be out doing anything unless someone gets hurt

    Hi, great vids man. Tip; don't rappel from that riggers belt, despite the marketing efforts of HSGI. If your work requires work at height or bail out, invest in an integrated harness belt, like those from the CTOMS TRACE line of soft goods, or TYR products. It will incorporate into your existing rig well. From personal experience, the Raptors are difficult to clean really well, so I ditched mine in favour of sterile bagged penny cutters.
    Keep up the great work, be safe.

      @@arnoldgreen338 I used Magpul's EMAGs (basically a PMAG without all the texturing) while I was in Afghanistan, they were generally reliable, but 4 of the 10 I had brought with me were splitting at the top and another 2 or 3 had damaged feed lips at the end of my tour. They saw me through, and never stopped working well. I had a buddy whose PMAG's magazine hole had smoothed out and it could no longer be loaded into the M4. I've since parted ways with both the Army and Magpul's magazines. The mags are good for what they are, but Lancer L5s are all I run now and I love them. Smooth feeding, durable, reliable. Everything you'd want in a magazine. PMAGs have since been relegated to just a range mag in my book.

    Hey Sam, I’m looking to possibly get into the same line of work. I’m still in the Army as a 68W Combat Medic and am making progress in attaining certs which I believe will be key on my application i.e. ACLS and Paramedic-Tactical course which will result in certs that translate to the civilian world. We enjoy a relatively limitless budget for gear and medical supplies, my question to you is how does the budget work in your department? Is your department funding medical gear, equipment and supplies, or does a certain portion come out of your pocket?

      usually causes more damage when used by untrained persons, unless used properly and only when absolutely necessary...don't listen to "preppers" or "airsoft kids" and cyberspace doesn't qualify as proper training.

    nice gear, but with the gas mask it does degrade over time when you have it plugged in, if i were you i would check it every once and awhile to make sure that it still works before you actually use it. but besides that cool kit.

    Do yourself a favor and get an Anti-drift pin kit for that rifle. Your pins will move, and usually at the worst possible moment. You also need to get a nomex hood/ fighter pilot gloves. Ok just get as much nomex as you can. buildings and cars tend to light on fire when an assault team starts tossing flash bangs/ dumping ammo into it. I'm still annoyed that the NTOA hasn't recommended full nomex for tactical teams. (a gross oversight in my opinion.)

    Hey bud, former Combat Medic - do you not carry a light other than on your systems? They make bright, durable pen lights - totally recommend. Great to keep out of your med bag just to check pupils, do a quick assessment, extra light when you’re using any of your IFAK gear as well.
