  • It should be no surprise that just like so much of my kit and setups, I am constantly changing my everyday carry (EDC). This video is a walkthrough of everything I carry with me off duty both for my own convenience and to protect my family.

So glad you brought up improvising medical supplies. No doubt supplies are better than improvising, but knowledge and a creative mind can help lighten the load on what you carry on the daily.
Kudos on bringing up the importance of quality chest compressions over delivering breaths!

The only thing I’d say is missing is a blade. I don’t carry it for defensive purposes, but if you do need to improvise some medical supplies or expose a patient, it’s worth carrying. It can also be used to rescue someone (especially if you have a glass breaker) or just for convenience (opening annoying packaging etc). I sometimes carry a Benchmade Triage, but now I often just take a Gerber EAB because it takes up no space, and I never have to worry about sharpening. Even a small keychain knife or strap cutter is adequate.

Pro tip: Magguts makes a +2 round extension for the p365 magazine that does not increase the profile of the magazine substantially. This would increase your capacity to 14+1. I can confirm that this will not impact the magazine performance either. It does this by replacing the internals of the magazine, and on the 12 round magazine it adds between 1/8 and 1/4 of an inch to the bottom of the magazine.

I'd reconsider that RAT if I was you. It's not T3C approved, it's a pain to apply tight enough to stop major bleeding (especially if it gets all slick with blood) and tends to come loose easily. They also have extremely high occlusion pressure and are even more painful to wear compared to a proper TQ.
If you want to stick with the gold standard then a SOF-T Wide can be folded down pretty compact (check out Mountain Man Medical for a good video on how to stage them). You only lose a bit of "self-appliability" compared to a CAT.
Or you can go with a SWAT-T, they're more compact than a full windlass TQ and just a little more bulky than a RAT. They're also not T3C approved. Application is still a pain and self-application is really only possible on your legs but you can combine them with gauze or a shirt to make a pressure bandage as a bonus.

  • @zacdredge3859
    @zacdredge3859 Рік тому +4

I think tape is a good option for light EDC in addition to the gauze; has a million uses including bandaging if you don't have a proper med kit.

For my firearm I carry a Springfield hellcat concealed appendix carry on my right side( I’ve had to draw and use it once to shoot a dog that was attacking me), a old g shock watch on my left wrist, and lastly a spare magazine in my back right pocket, although I sometimes leave it out of my edc.

@@carson4388 Not sure how I feel about your phrasing. "So, when dogs are roaming freely running up to me, they are getting sprayed or shot either one" that's absolutely horrific if they aren't also being aggressive (which I hope you assumed was implied). I have had dogs walk or run up to me and despite it being a bit of a shock, it's only ever been negative twice and I simply left their territorial zone (had to walk past their house) and they left me alone.

I really like my Kore Essentials ratcheting -type belt (does have a buckle) because it's even easier to make those fine adjustments. I empathize with wanting to stay minimal as much as possible and I am picky about what I carry too, but I do carry a light (I like the Streamlight Microstream USB) because a phone or watch light just doesn't have the same throw and usefulness. And I always have a knife and small multi-tool (Gerber Dime or Leatherman PS4). I use these often enough to keep having them on me. Especially a knife. I like replaceable razor blade-type knives (I have an Outdoor Edge Razor-lite and a Coast DX126 folding utility knife) because I don't like sharpening a lot, I cut a fair bit of cardboard, and I almost never need a more robust blade for me personally. Have a Gerber EAB and it's good but I don't like needing a screwdriver to swap blades and having the potential to lose a tiny screw, and the Coast has a push button that makes it super quick and easy. Have a Flipside 4 wallet. My Samsung Galaxy watch quit charging and I never used the extras on it and am looking for another watch. Pistol is a Glock 27 with a TLR-6. Old school at this point but I have my reasons.

This may be a stupid question but if you're primary use of your phone case is daily use (anything other than the plate carrier), then is it that hard to just swap the case out to the Juggernaut on range days only? Rest of the time you just use a more practical EDC case? Because that's what I would purchase the Juggernaut system for AS LONG as its fairly quick and easy to just swap out

I own a couple of P365 versions. Also have the Sig M17 and the Sig M18 because I’m a Marine and the M18 replaced the Marine Corps issued Beretta.

I think your EDC is terrific. What these commentators don’t understand is that your cute/neat gadgets are only good if you have them when you need them. With skinny jeans😂 so popular, you start adding the kitchen sink, you will unload your pockets whenever possible, thus negating “C” in EDC.
I like the phone case/tactical carry for it. I’m gonna order it for my work phone. 👍👊🏼

Love the p365, I bought the p365x a about a month ago, had a about 8 failure to return into battery the first 200 rounds, my gun came very tight tho, after the first range Day, I cleaned it and shot another 200 rounds the next few days and no malfunctions, great gun overall, even though I love my g19, glock really needs to make a competitor to the p365 series, the 43, and the 43x isn’t it

Actually you want a light that sticks out beyond the muzzle on a combat weapon. That light is what’s going to keep your weapon in battery. If you stick a semi auto pistol into someone even if you barely push the slide back by doing that, you’re screwed and your weapon is a paper weight. Which is why you want a light that sticks out beyond the muzzle so the light makes contact and not the end of your muzzle so you can fire your weapon and it will still cycle.

Hey, Sam, hope you’re doing well.
I know I’m too late to the party, but wanted to ask if the Magazines you mention and have, got Orange Followers. I’m digging the P365 XL, and currently doing my research, so hope you can help me with that.
    Have a good one!

Good video. Just watched another content creator's 'complete' EDC video and your minimalist EDC is far more complete. Agree with all your point - but IMO you need a dedicated flashlight. Thanks!

Just carry a backpack with a small med kit. I carry a small leather backpack with a med kit, spare socks, some food, a screwdriver, tissues, light, bottle of water, and plenty of space left if I need to carry something.
