Thank you
Hi!
This Golf GTI came to me with what seemed like a misfiring...
Running really poorly, engine light flashing, and sometimes the EPC light illuminated...
A quick scan revealed some trouble codes, and a few tests the culprit!...
Follow me on this video to find what the problem was, and how to resolve it.

You mean to tell me you are not a mechanic or an auto electric technician? Bt you are so good at what you do, I wish I can learn and be like you
☺️
Thanks!
There are lots of people who are not mechanics, but they can service or fix their own cars. Get the right tools and diagnostic equipment, learn from different sources like here and forums on the Internet. Speak to friendly mechanics or if available go to garages and rent their facilities. Last couple of I have done is change a friends sparkplugs, and replace my brothers car wheel bearing. I could list exhaust work, every suspension component, oil changes, coolant changes, complete brakes including cars with electronic parking brake and many more. Experience!
I do all my own servicing and repairs. Yesterday changed a water pump pulley on a 2016 mini countryman as the rubber friction surface was starting to break up and make a rattle/ knock noise. Never done one before. Done it in less than an hour and noise gone. Saved loads of money and big satisfaction of knowing I done the job myself. I can see why people take their cars to you luis. You know what you’re doing. Very methodical and try your best to save your customers money.
Hi Luis, Great fix as always. Always a pleaasure watching your videos an❤d I presume plenty of more video repairs in the pipeline 😊. PS: Hope your new neighbours don't complain about the volume of cars on your neighbourhood ! Cheers 😊
☺️
They all fit on my drive way...😊
And already helping the neighbours anyway... there is no reason for them to complain...😋
Yes, over 100 videos backlogged...
Plenty to come...
👍👍👍
i have something to say about neighbours but wont@@LMAutoRepairs
Good simple fix. You were confusing yourself at the end and forgot that you did clear the codes moments before. I prefer individual coil packs per cylinder, because it helps diagnose the cause of misfires, and it is not always necessary to change all the coil packs, especially if the owner cannot afford it.
☺️
Agree...

I had an A4 doing the same about 12 years ago. Changed the pencil coil for a spurious one. It lasted 2 days. Sent it back and went to Audi and got a genuine one. A week later a different coil had failed. Went to Audi and got another. The parts man told me to change all 4 because when one goes, they all go. I declined and just took the one. Cured the fault on the car again. Within 2 weeks I was back at Audi and bought the other 2. Luckily I knew the customer well. Coils were £23 at the time.
Hopefully that's what happened to my 2004 Almera and its camshaft and crankshaft sensors. The non-genuine ones lasted 1 year.
Genuine or good quality aftermarket...
Unfortunately a lot of aftermarket stuff doesn't worth the box they come on...

I own a GTI MK6 for 5 years, those OEM coil packs are very common to fail, the red top ones (aka R8 coil packs the real ones) are best bang for ur bucks specially if had some mods like those intake or reflash for more boost. They are no expensive. Another thing is the carbon build up on the valves make a IDLE misfiring too sometimes.
This one actually have the head removed in the past, etc...
All cleaned at the time...👍👍👍
Nice:) In vauxhalls/opel/Gm in live data is misfire couner CYCLES and some people mistake them with misfiring.. its just looping up to 100 counts, and start from beginning in few seconds, its ecu misfire monitor and need to look at total misfire live data or each cylinder when there is a fault.. on my last corsa D 1.0 3 cylinders random misfire was caused by dirty throttle body and really bad ECU ground wire, by way I cleaned also Map sensor, Maf was looking ok.
P16F3 code was set and no dtc for misfire, unless previous mechanic clear them... Meanwhile changed sparks and coil pack .Maybe this info will be useful for someone. PS 3 cylinders 1.0 engines don't have good opinions for those kind of faults. Engine was misfiring, and occasionally stalling, now is a rocket:)

Well done 👍
Thanks!
Super great work as always!

Thanks!

Only in french cars( psa, renault ) one is at gearbox side. On all others 1 is at timing belt side.
👍👍👍
Nice what model of Autel Maxisystem scanner are you using to diagnose this problem?
MS908P
You have now the newer models...
👍👍👍
Every time change together 1 igniter 1 spark plug 😊
The only carmakes that has cyl 1 at gearbox are the french, peugot, citro, and renault.
👍👍👍
Cylinder number 1 always the closest to the timing chain ... why that intake hose not connected close to throttle body
No always...
Franch tend to do it the opposite way...
👍👍👍
@LMAutoRepairs never worked on French cars we don't have them in the us ...but all the cars we have here from Europe like German Italian n British cars all the same they got the same firing one always by the timing belt
Yes... French do it different...😊
@LMAutoRepairs but wait a minute, that's a German vw lol ... u living in England, bro ???
Actually, that is not even 100% correct...
Cylinder one on a German car car be on the other end of the timing chain....
I wonder how can i contact you. I really need your help. Im frim South Africa
