I love the name "cooking with Jack" as it is reminiscent of the idea of cooking with "jack" in terms of little cooking experience, or fancy ingredients/equipment.
Great demo. I make something like this with eggplant, zucchini and portobello mushroom, but I bread the veggies a little with italian breadcrumbs before frying them and ZOMG it's soooo good!
trust me. If I like a recipe, I will go to a blog. I appreciate the help, but cramming everything into my video page seems messy. It won't even all fit in the side bar, You will still have to click to another page.
Jack, A quick suggestion for the veggies, to get all of them uniform thickness, try using a mandolin if possible, you can get thinner slices and it takes less time. Great show! keep it up! -Jason
This is a great recipe for on the go. But if there is something I would like to add to it, it would be a layer of crimini mushrooms and stir fried shallots with the pasta sauce.
I enjoy watching your show Jack! I would definitely tivo it on food network! Cooking can be overwhelming especially for people on the go these days, and you make it very fun, simple, & easy without having to use thousounds of ingredients! Keep up the good work. Is there such a way where we can vote for you & turn it in to food network to have your own cooking show? I'm a huge fan!
umm I thought lasagnia was supposed to have those square noodles on them and then have different stuffings. It could be ground beef, chicken, or anything you like. Am I wrong wiht that information or its just 1 type of lasagnia? Ive noticed that jack hasnt made a single lasagnia yet wiht the square noodles.
My mom does the same thing, but she cooks it on a stove top, doesn't use cheese, and it's not layered. We think of it as ratatouille without the cucumber.
Jack, I know it takes more time on the video, but I would like to see you cooking the stuff in the pan. Just like they do on the Food Network. Thanks for your great vids.
Hi, just for information... uncooked raw eggplants are poisonous, they will not kill you but they might give you a stomachache! just fry, grill or cook 'em for few minutes with or without skin until they soften and everything will be fine.. great vegetarian lasagna! Since i'm home alone on the weekend, i will make this for me! Joe from Germany
sorry dude, but it is healthier. I removed the carbs and the red meat. That makes it healthier. If it was a cookie, I wouldn't say it's healthier. I would say it's fattening. But it's a veggie dish which is pretty darn healthy.
@Caribeanqueen79 I would suggest Daiya cheese it is almost just like cheese and unlike other vegan "cheese" it melts. Most pizza places actually use that on pizzas for vegan pizza.
nicely done, I love the show! I was wondering if you would be interested in doing a Vegan menu collaboration show? Basically Myself and a few other UA-camrs will have the same Vegan menu but will cook it up their style and do a show on it and then cross link the shows. Each chef has a different style so the dishes should come out differently. Keep up the good cooking!
Jack how are you going to make a cooking show and cut out the actual cooking! you shouldve left in the sauteeing part, but thats just me haha great show not a veggie here but still watching it
Fair enough. I don't mind going to the blog, but it looks like you've got a few folks riled up. LOL Maybe you should make a video called "The Lazy Man's Instructional Video on How To Click a Link". ;)
I'm sorry, but lasagna WITHOUT lasagna pasta sheets?? what? I'm not sure ... that is an US thing? or does it have any special reason not to use them (and as far as gluten free diet, they actually make gluten free lasagna pasta sheets)?
prep4md- I think you are confusing vegetarian with vegan. Vegetarians don't eat meat but still consume things like milk, cheese, sour cream, etc. Vegans don't use or consume any animal products.
1st of all pork is red meat. 2nd of all wtf who says dairy is bad for u. 3rd of all if something is vegetarian it probably is much healthier than the alternative
Okay, darlin. I do understand the purpose of sending folks to your blog to get the recipes, but to avoid the "boo-ing", why not just put the recipe in the sidebar? That way, it won't interrupt your video, but it'll still be very accessible to your viewers. I know I don't know jack (pun intended) about making videos. I've never even made a personal one. This is just a suggestion. XOXO ~Tammy~
you forgot the lasagna dude

what happened to lasagna noodles?
I didnt know pasta contained meat 😅
trust me. If I like a recipe, I will go to a blog. I appreciate the help, but cramming everything into my video page seems messy. It won't even all fit in the side bar, You will still have to click to another page.
yes, just add it in as a layer. You can also add ricotta cheese.
thanks for your nice words.
i got the mug inside Disneyland. A shop next to Pirates of the Caribbean. They have a Jack Skelington store. It's my favorite mug now.
What if I just want to add some lasagna noodles to this? Which layer would they go in?
CrescendoCrimson doesnt matter
i don't think this is pasta, doesn't it need the pasta? *shrug*
Well there are all kinds of Lasagna. The pasta center is definitely common and gives it a lot of structure but you can be creative with food!
I LOVE your video... the commercial in the middle is actually not annoying but really cute! Good luck with your business!
I look forward to it.
no problem. I will throw that in next time.
im 13 years late but.... its not vegetarian, mozzarella has rennet in it which is made from the stomach of a baby cow
Jack,
A quick suggestion for the veggies, to get all of them uniform thickness, try using a mandolin if possible, you can get thinner slices and it takes less time.
Great show! keep it up!

Hey Jack, great video. You could also put the ingredients in an annotation, people can just pause it and look quickly! Keep up the good work
@Caribeanqueen79 then get the real lasagna pasta sheets and use that instead of the cheese layers.
@minara19 soon you will be able to vote. soon.
@SagaraSouske Love the mushroom idea. I think I will try that next time. Thanks.
ohhh well i would one for the first, one in the middle and one on top just to balance it all out. that sound awesome!! love the show!
This is a great recipe for on the go. But if there is something I would like to add to it, it would be a layer of crimini mushrooms and stir fried shallots with the pasta sauce.

jack, do you use the miracle blades alot? Just wondering...
Why you didn't use pasta sheets on this one?
umm I thought lasagnia was supposed to have those square noodles on them and then have different stuffings. It could be ground beef, chicken, or anything you like. Am I wrong wiht that information or its just 1 type of lasagnia? Ive noticed that jack hasnt made a single lasagnia yet wiht the square noodles.
lasagna is tough. I will try later this year. Too many more shows to do first.
is it healthy ???
i think I am going to do the perfect brownie next.
It drove me nuts that you left the last piece of veggie in the bowl! Just started watching, and now I am hooked!
My mom does the same thing, but she cooks it on a stove top, doesn't use cheese, and it's not layered. We think of it as ratatouille without the cucumber.
Jack,
I know it takes more time on the video, but I would like to see you cooking the stuff in the pan. Just like they do on the Food Network. Thanks for your great vids.
I would use them if I kept them. I already had a set of knives like Miracle Blades. I would use them everyday.
Nice and simple going to try it soon
then that would be my next video.
Hi,
just for information...

I tried it and it turned out really good.... Thanks for the video

OMG! I could seriously kill to have that Nightmare Before Christmas mug you have standing on the counter!
were is the pasta?
your too funny. This dish is awesome even if your not vegetarian. We loved it for dinner that night.
nicely done, I love the show! I was wondering if you would be interested in doing a Vegan menu collaboration show?

Hey thats like mousakas from greece but withought the minced meat.
Jack how are you going to make a cooking show and cut out the actual cooking! you shouldve left in the sauteeing part, but thats just me haha great show not a veggie here but still watching it
The squash replaces the lasagna. Great for low carbs. Yum! I have to make this!👅
I removed the pasta because of the carbs. I removed the meat because of the vegetarians.
wait wtf Where was the lasagna
Very funny!!! LOL
Thanks for asking! I was going to ask the same thing!
I have had garlic on my pizza but not just a garlic pizza. My wife wouldn't come near me. LOL
Oh man. I knew that name sounded familiar.
sweet Nightmare before Christmas mug!
Fair enough. I don't mind going to the blog, but it looks like you've got a few folks riled up. LOL Maybe you should make a video called "The Lazy Man's Instructional Video on How To Click a Link". ;)

dude. I did viewer mail in the video. did you watch it?
I think you should add spinach.
LOVE the mug!
Oh yes, aren't I the comedienne? LOL
I like it way more when you have the ingredients on the video itself so we can just pause it and look at the recipe. Anyways, good review :D.
i just watched that movie
So I am vegetarian I was wondering if you can do a stuffed bell peppers vegetarian style. I love all of your videos.
It would be awesome if you could make falafels. I hope you can cover that one day :D
my mom sometimes makes that :P but I still prefer regular lasagna
vegetarians eat cheese. Vegans don't eat cheese. Vegetarians don't eat meat.
lol my bro tried to make brownies and the next day he was so sick
OMG me and that guy have the same plates!! Well my mom's plates lol.
Love the recipe!
I have that exact same Jack mug xD
God. The cheese...omg.
*drool*
I'm sorry, but lasagna WITHOUT lasagna pasta sheets?? what? I'm not sure ... that is an US thing? or does it have any special reason not to use them (and as far as gluten free diet, they actually make gluten free lasagna pasta sheets)?
I made this with your instructions and it was unbelievably delicoussssssss!!!!!!!! I look forward to making this again! :)
prep4md- I think you are confusing vegetarian with vegan. Vegetarians don't eat meat but still consume things like milk, cheese, sour cream, etc. Vegans don't use or consume any animal products.

Lazy Man's Ratatouille.
bro not every vegetarian likes nasty eggpalnt
1st of all pork is red meat. 2nd of all wtf who says dairy is bad for u. 3rd of all if something is vegetarian it probably is much healthier than the alternative
