    the recipe is :
    Nana's Christmas Lasagna With Meatballs & Sausage
    2 pounds of rigatoni
    2 pound of mozzarella cheese sliced at #1 thickness
    3 large cans of whole peeled tomatoes
    3 large cans of crushed or diced tomatoes
    1 large can of tomato paste
    1 pound of ground beef
    1 pound of ground lamb
    1 pound of ground pork
    1 package of sweet Italian sausage links
    1 package of spicy Italian sausage links
    2 large tubs of ricotta cheese
    2 eggs
    1 container of Italian breadcrumbs
    Basil
    Oregano
    Minced Garlic
    Minced Onion
    Salt
    Pepper
    Red pepper flakes if you want a spicy sauce
    One 750ml. bottle of Merlot wine
    Meatballs and Sausage Directions:
    Mix ground beef, pork, lamb in a large bowl. Add 2 eggs, and all seasonings to your liking. Add breadcrumbs. Mix all ingredients in bowl with your hands. Then grab and roll 1-2-inch size meatballs and place on tray or plate.
    Sausage link Directions
    Cut in half and place on the tray or plate.
    Brown your meat (LOL) in olive oil (use the pot that you are going to make your sauce in) DON’T dump the oil or the brown bits on the bottom leave it in the pot for flavor.
    Once the meat is browned and cooked put meat in bowl and start on sauce.
    NOTE: Do not add the meat until you are going to heat the sauce up for dinner.
    Sauce directions:
    Take all 6 cans of tomatoes (not the paste can) and put in blender to pulse and break down tomatoes. Add basil, oregano, garlic, and onions to each batch of blended tomatoes.
    Put all tomatoes sauce in pot with oil and brown bits and add the can of tomato paste. Add 1/3 bottle of merlot to sauce. Add your red pepper flacks to sauce now if you want it spicy. Turn stove on to medium heat and stir sauce ever 10 minutes so it does not burn or stick to the bottom. Taste 30 min in to cooking and see if you need to add more seasons or salt of pepper. Once the sauce is seasoned to your liking pull some aside for the lasagna.
    Lasagna directions:
    Cook the 2 pounds of rigatoni until it is al dente. Drain and rinse. (if you need instructions on making pasta stop and don’t make lasagna, you CAN’T cook!) “😊
    Once the sauce is warm, pull some aside to make the lasagna.
    Layer one spoon the sauce to cover the bottom of the lasagna pan, very thin layer. Place the rigatoni side by side to fill the whole pan. Spoon ricotta cheese in small chunks over the rigatoni then drizzle a little more sauce over the layer of pasta and cheese. Place the mozzarella slices on top and cover the pasta. Repeat this again for layer 2 and 3. Once you are done wrap with foil and put in the refrigerator until you are about 1 hour from cooking.
    Putting meal together for dinner:
    Bake the Lasagna at 350 degrees, remove foil and bake until the lasagna is bubbling, and cheese is melting or golden brown. Cook time is about 45 - 60 minutes.
    Put sauce and meat back in pot and re heat. This will take about 45-60 minutes. If it starts to bubble turn heat to low to keep warm until lasagna is ready to serve.
    Plating:
    Square of Lasagna spoonful of sauce and meat ball or sausage on top. Add a spoonful or ricotta cheese on top to mix in.
