Hello my Friend. This build is amazing! Elden Ring is my first Soulslike Game and I was throwing my attributes all over the place. After I randomly found the Moonveil Katana I was looking for a build and this one made me kill 4 bosses that I never defeated before within an hour. Great Video, keep up your fantastic work. Greetings from Germany.
This is ironically the build I ended up putting together (without watching any videos). I'm now watching videos to see if I can make improvements (level 70 right now) and give myself direction for the next 30 levels. Surprisingly already have an am using the staff of loss and moonveil katana together. Just gotta get better armor and my talismans and I'm set!
First time playing this game. Decided id make this build first, and then explore and do the story or whatever, thinking all this stuff was immediately available in this video. ... Level 75 and i finally got the armor as the final piece of the build, minus some talismans 😅 For anyone new like me, for this build and building towards it id definitely add getting the Rock Sling spell, and using the Skeletal Militiaman summon until you can get the Mimic summon. Those things helped tremendously, alongside using Eternal Darkness and Assassin's Gambit to sneak through a HUGE majority of dungeons necessary to go through to get the moon spells and the armor! 👍🏿 Also, getting Moon Blade katana with starting-level vigor really sucks as a mage. ... Oh and i have not used a single wonderous physic lol
I came back to look at this as for my current playthrough I went full Gravity. Int/Str build and utilizing gravity throwables as well. I have had a blast, but I might do another playthrough with just night sorceries and be sort of a quiet stealth approach.
That's an easy fix my friend. Pump up your endurance a bit so you can wear heavy armor. 33 END should be enough. Radahn's armor is easy to get. Eventually you want the Solitude set(DLC). Replace Cerulean Hidden Tear with Opaline Hard Tear. Equip Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman. Then buy Boiled Prawn from Blackguard. With all that plus Golden Vow AoW you should be at 70% phys dmg negation. Also, find a bunch of Scadutree Fragments. They are the DLC progression system and will greatly buff offense and defense.
This randomly got recommended and I stopped play this game months ago. I’m tempted to start another run on ng+7 now and I might try out a different build. I always use a melee build cause I like being in their face. I might try this, how you explained it AMD put the video together is 11/10 honestly. One of the best videos, if not he best video I’ve seen that explains the breakdown of a class/build. Well done sir

Flask: Spiked Cracked & Stonebarb How I played this one was starting as a strength build, keeping affinities to Heavy and Fire and working my way up to what you feel comfortable with for Vigor and then getting strength to 54 (80 two handed w/Great Mace) and then after that pumping Arcane to 45+ and switching to blood affinity along the way. I also felt like Flame, Grant me Stength was worth the low faith investment too. Stat spread for around 150-160 was this, give or take a couple stats. Vigor 55, Mind 9 (base hero), Endurance 41 (allows 51-61 poise armor + bow/etc), Strength 54, Dex 15 ( I raise to 15 to allow serpent bow, marais executioners sword, gargoyle twinblade w/impaling thrust, great stars w/wild strikes and beastman curved swords, variety mostly), Intelligence 7 (hero base), Faith 15, Arcane 45 For spells/incants I ran flame, grant me strength - flame, cleanse me - beastial vitality - swarm of flies - dragonice & rotten breathe. But I rarely used anything other than the first three, the heart of the build is melee and I don't want to be buffing all the time. Something to note and something I personally hadn't played around with is the strength of arcane scaling on throwing pots. Also the power of freeze pots on bosses, completely got me away from dragonice. Anyways Kimo, that was longer than expected but this is just a stance breaking machine. The basic moveset of the great hammer I love, I know some don't but I think it's great > Running R2 to R1 to R2 to Charged R2 is a seamless combo. When you get the spirit ash and flask bumping up your brag roar you can stance break trolls in 1 charged R2 > I'm not exatly sure on the numbers but it's likely somewhere around 60, you can usually bring down dragons in 2 charged R2s or 1 and mix of a follow up R2 + jumping attack. The charged R2s also seem to do 2-3x as much status effects so you are just doing all sorts of damage along the way and the AOW like charges into people and pushes them along with you so you're not getting hit. If you have any quesitons let me know but it's been one of the most solid builds I've experimented with using weapons and AOWs I hadn't previously touched. I did a solid NG7 run with it on a higher character getting to that 80 STR/80 ARC and it just destroyed.

At the time of making this video, I wasn't aware of this information, but thanks to someone like you who shared it, I learned something new. Thank you for watching and sharing. ❤
I will certainly love to play something like that but I want to play it from the very start as Gravity Mage. Although I am curious about the extent of the poise damage nerf to the Falligstar Beast Jaw in patch 1.08. It used to be an incredible weapon for breaking poise before that update.
@@KimoChaser the weapon art is now only good as a quick ranged option, but still just as spammable. It is also still the longest reaching colossal weapon. So it doesn't poise break as good as Giant-Crusher does but instead you can whittle the target's health from afar before going in
First off, nice build and guide. Just a small correction needed...on the stats review it shows confessor in the top left, but you mentioned using an astrologer before that. I can tell by the stats you probably used astrologer bc confessor has like 14 faith (don't quote me on that but it is high). Sorry if this was mentioned in another comment but i didn't see one mentioning it. Good luck and thanks for the guide.
I can't believe I did such a mistake. I really check things 3-4 times or even more pre-release. I'm really careful most of the time. Thank you so much for bringing it to my attention. This is going to be an itch I can't scratch since I can't edit it out anymore. The stats are correct of course It's just the starter class name on top is incorrect.
Its funny that we came up with nearly identical builds independently :D cept I usually keep Golden Vow on a small weapon, and hardswap weapons as needed

@@LikeTheBirb I really need to jump in the game and try Vykes helmet as well. Honestly, fashion for me is as equally important as min/maxing my character stats if not more. I just hate the fact that the game doesn't have a transmogrification feature.

But this build seems like a lot of fun with the magic/stealth hybrid gameplay, so I'll give it a try! Thx for the great guide.
Kimo great guide this is what i want to play, do you have a beginner guide for this build on levelling it up? also what starting class should you play?
invisibility is just so good to explore while not wasting all your mana on trash mob that take a ton of it away... I just got the death poker and it felt so much better than wasting all that mana
The short answer is yes. The build is performing right now as it did when it was created. This build was created in patch 1.09.1. Since then there has been only one patch (v1.10), It focused on increasing the poise damage for certain weapons and spells.
Perfect for this build, is the night maiden set for elden ring fashion show.... Or the black night armor set for more assassin mod And I play this style with moonveil for dmg and misericorde, white shadows lure is a very good alternativ ash of War for cirts, for assasine a style
Absolutely agree, Night Comet is a game-changer. Once you reach that sweet spot of 80 intelligence with the Staff of Loss, you'll be able to dish out some truly mind-blowing damage with Night Comet. Thanks for watching, my friend.
is the moonveil the superior pick between dark moon greatsword, wing of astel etc? EDIT: video was so good, convinced me to go with this over thousands of other guides on yt so thank u sir
I appreciate you watching and for your kind words. It's important to note that Moonveil, Darkmoon Greatsword, and Wing of Astel are all viable options depending on one's preferred playstyle and stat requirements. Moonveil is particularly accessible early on, whereas Darkmoon Greatsword requires completing Ranni's questline. This is the main reason why I personally chose Moonveil over other options like Darkmoon Greatsword.
@@shinigamo9515 Certainly not. Using two staffs of loss is not necessary to make the build work. I personally used one for most of my first playthrough and only added the second one later to demonstrate the potential damage output.
Any good weapons to use with the hiddem weapon spell? Not so much a moonveil replacement but more as a trick for pvp. Im thing maybe 2h Nagakiba + Str boosting talisman, but Im curious if something else would be better.
When it comes to PvP, I might not be the expert to consult, but I can tell you that the combination of the Unseen Blade and whips like Urumi with the Royal Knight's Resolve Ash of War can be quite disorienting for opponents. This offers high damage output and the moveset provides excellent reach, especially with the heavy R2 attack. It's definitely worth giving it a try if you want to catch your opponents off guard.
@@prins-henrik1530 You're absolutely right. When using the Unseen Blade, the Royal Knight's Resolve does get replaced, and vice versa. However, I do think that the Urumi is one of those weapons that can definitely surprise and catch opponents off guard in PvP. Nevertheless, I'm curious to know which weapon you ultimately decide to use. Keep me updated!

For spells/incants I ran flame, grant me strength - flame, cleanse me - beastial vitality - swarm of flies - dragonice & rotten breathe.
@@mattwalker2818 Matt, I can't express enough how impressed I am with this build. The level of detail and information you've provided is truly remarkable. I can see the time and effort you've put into crafting this build, and I'm grateful that you've shared it with us.
While I appreciate your approval to use this build, I must admit that I couldn't bring myself to copy it entirely. However, I'll definitely be incorporating some of the ideas and concepts into my future builds.
I do hope you showcase this build on your channel, as I believe it deserves to be shared with a wider audience. You've done all the research and put in the hard work, so it only makes sense to see it in action.
Thank you again for sharing this with us, Matt. It's truly inspiring to see such passion and dedication to the game.
@@KimoChaser If you see any value in it Kimo thats all I was hoping. If anyone else finds value in it that's a bonus too. Glad to see more content coming is the main praise. Keep it going.
@@mattwalker2818 Oh Matt. I must say, I love this spirit birdie buff. I do not use or recommend Spirit Ash, but I might make an exception for this one.
Awesome build & video! My only change would be I use a magic ugikatana instead of moonveil ( unless dual wielding).
Thanks a lot, Jonathan. I've been looking forward to using Moonveil again in a Build, as it's been a year since I last did so. However, the Uchigatana is also a great choice and I'm sure it will serve just as well.
Very nice I'm trying Mage after get bored of blood build😅
Ironic, I was thinking "maybe I should make a Blood Build next". You will love this though.
Using hidden weapon on a long reach weapon was hilariously fun on my str/int build.
Don't know if you know, but assassin's gambit and hidden form together in PvP makes it so that your opponents can't lock on to you.
At the time of making this video, I wasn't aware of this information, but thanks to someone like you who shared it, I learned something new. Thank you for watching and sharing. ❤
This is literally the same build I had for endgame on my first playthrough.
I use a similar build I made based off of this one but it has the moonlight Greatsword, dagger tailsman, black wolf mask. Shadow Wolf Mage.
Sounds cool! I've been wanting to try the Moonlight Greatsword in a build too. Thanks for watching and sharing your setup!
Makes me want to try doing this exact playthrough, then switch to Royal GS/Ruins GS/Fallingstar Beast Jaw for late game lol
So it doesn't poise break as good as Giant-Crusher does but instead you can whittle the target's health from afar before going in
saving this build for ng+ when i respec from a bleed build
Sweet video brother thanks
Nice Build, would the Shard of Alexander additionaly be a good option to boost the damage from Moonveil?
Indeed, if you want to increase Moonveil damage, Shard of Alexander can certainly help with that.
your intros go so godamn hard bro .
that intro was so cool!
That's really cool to hear! It just goes to show how great minds think alike (I'm flattering myself here lol). I'm glad we share a similar approach to building characters in Elden Ring. Keep on slaying, my friend!
Right down to the armor set too
Tho i use Vykes helmet since the armor set keeps up the invisible hood with it
@@LikeTheBirb I really need to jump in the game and try Vykes helmet as well. Honestly, fashion for me is as equally important as min/maxing my character stats if not more. I just hate the fact that the game doesn't have a transmogrification feature.
7:20 bro got absolutely launched
First time here but you get my follow my dude. Amazing content here and I’m eager to dive into more of your build vids!
Thank you so much, Lewis. ❤
@@KimoChaser Don't mention it brother, always here to support a fellow artist!!! :)
Wow. The quality of this video is superb! I'm shocked that you don't have more subs. Keep up the good work, and you're going places!
I'm glad you liked it and I hope any of the information was helpful.
I just started a new playthrough and wanted to try sorceries this time, since my first playthrough was a Str/Fai build but I wasn't sure what exactly I was gonna do and just improvise. But this build seems like a lot of fun with the magic/stealth hybrid gameplay, so I'll give it a try! Thx for the great guide.
Thank you so much, my friend. I hope you enjoy your next playthrough.
Nice amazing build 10/10
I REALLY wanna get a new character now for this build
I hope you try it and have fun with it, my friend.
Kimo great guide this is what i want to play, do you have a beginner guide for this build on levelling it up? also what starting class should you play?
1:01 great music!!
Awesome intro!
Night Comet: use whatever staff you want but have the Staff of Loss held in your other hand to still get the damage boost.
invisibility is just so good to explore while not wasting all your mana on trash mob that take a ton of it away...
I just got the death poker and it felt so much better than wasting all that mana
Nice start video
dang mages' gampelay looks peacefull
fk i should have pick astrologer but im too far already
I love this content bro
Thank you so much, Josh.
This is a great video
You are kind Ali. ❤
is this build still viable?
The short answer is yes. The build is performing right now as it did when it was created.
This build was created in patch 1.09.1. Since then there has been only one patch (v1.10), It focused on increasing the poise damage for certain weapons and spells.
SHADOW WIZARD MONEY GANG WE LOVE CASTING SPELLS
Perfect for this build, is the night maiden set for elden ring fashion show.... Or the black night armor set for more assassin mod
And I play this style with moonveil for dmg and misericorde, white shadows lure is a very good alternativ ash of War for cirts, for assasine a style
Great tips man. I will certainly use some of those in my next Assassin's Build. Thank you so much for sharing.
@@KimoChaser or, you make on dagger assassin's gambit for more muffle, plus black knife armor set for more more and more muffle
@@Blutgolem With the Royal Knight's Resolve Miséricorde for some nutty backstabs. ❤
Badass intro
Complete newb here wanting to do this build, but idk where those locations are 😅 at least in reference to the starting point of the game
Very cool build, I'll have to try it out! I also really like your editing style, well done.
I'm grateful for those kind words. ❤
And the magic mist? I use it a lot is super useful
It is useful but it doesn't get buffed by the Staff of Loss.
@@KimoChaser oh because its a damage per second skill. The damage is fixed, if it scaled it would be the most broken skill in the game
You need high int for night comet but it's the best spell in the game.
@@KimoChaser i just saw a rannis questline walkthrough(holy mother of god this quest is stupidly long) so yeah ...moonveil it is xD
@@KimoChaser do I have to have 2 staffs of loss to make this build work?
@@shinigamo9515 Haha, yes, it does take some effort to complete, but I went ahead and did it anyway in order to acquire Ranni's Dark Moon sorcery.
@@shinigamo9515 Certainly not. Using two staffs of loss is not necessary to make the build work. I personally used one for most of my first playthrough and only added the second one later to demonstrate the potential damage output.
I love magic
@@KimoChaser Urumi definitely sounds like a good idea, but I think RKR overwrites unseen blade
Is there any purpose to use the furled finger trick mirror if you're playing offline?
Not that I can think of no.
can you use the build all game though
Prisoner is better than Astrologer, it has 1 less point in Faith.
Im at RL 250 do you have any recommendations as to what i should do with the extra 100 levels and which stat to level up?
Yo man, nice video tho, could I talk to you about a build I want to setup, I reached lvl 81 and idk what talismans and etc are best into that, I really want to do hard damage , can u help me out m8? Ty
Hey, Dobi! Thank you for tuning in. I wanted to let you know that I've covered all the details in this video, so there isn't much more I can add at the moment. However, if there are any specific areas that you found unclear or would like me to elaborate on, please feel free to reach out. I'm more than happy to provide further explanations and address any questions you may have.
This part of the dlc and can I use this for ranger?
