Can ANY Boss Survive the Night of Black Knives? - Elden Ring
Вставка
- Опубліковано 29 кві 2024
- In this elden ring video I'm testing whether any boss would be able to survive the so called "night of the black knives", actually fighting against 10 black knife assassins in a boss vs boss battle.
According to the elden ring lore, the night of the black knives was the event that led to the death of Godwyn, son of queen Marika the eternal and Godfrey, first elden lord; and was a turning point in what would be a catalyst for the shattering of the Elden Ring, plunging the kingdom into chaos without the guidance of the Greater Will.

Radahn the fcking legend
your perverse cursing spoilt this comment
Correct me if I am wrong, but Radahn was specifically designed to fight groups. Cool to see it in action.
pre nerf radahn would have melted them
*Nice shot!*

That fog wall was for their safety.

This is the best comment ever
That wasnt Rick's hp, it was his patience bar
He wasn’t even attacking, he was just stretching
That's gold
This is literally one of the best comments I've seen on UA-cam lol
And he was just napping at the end
underrated
Alternative title
"Can any of the bosses survive being Julius Caesar"
Alternative alternative title:"can any of the bosses survive being JUMPED?"
DAMN the Maliketh fight was seriously underrated.
The fact that he INMEDIATELLY positioned himself better to not be surrounded, used AoE attacks first, and TOOK COVER of the Black Knife's own destined death, like he knew what kind of weapon they were using and how to counter it.
So clean he never even needed to reveal the Black Blade.
Tbf he's specifically hiding the black blade because of them. He's probably been playing out this fight in his head for a while.
literally that figth was canon
Literally one of if not the coolest boss. I just love the way he fights too.

@@YaksenPushMongo LMAO, lil bro is projecting hard. You're the one who should learn before speaking, child.
Watching Gideon give his speech knowing he is about to get shivved like Ceaser just made me laugh so much.
Sir Gideon Ofnir, the All-Ganked
Haha, yeah I audibly laughed. Dude didn’t get one cast off.
Pouring one out for Gideon
@@ryandunnlives what got me was the lack of weapon arts from the assassins. They were like “Nah, he’s pathetic, we’re gunna make him suffer”
He could not cast a single thing lol
In fairness to Malenia, that whole "nuke the world" strategy she pulls out every time she's about to lose really comes in handy.
I like to imagine that if the fight didn’t take place in the Haligtree the bloom she does when she goes phase 2 would have created another Caelid.
@@xerofire lore wise it would be a fair assumption that the second bloom (the one in her phase 2) would be as powerful as the first one (when fighting Radahn), if not more so, but what she actually does is much smaller than the first one we can see when she fought Radahn.
canonically it probably should create another caelid, but the gameplay aspect stops that, or else we'd become like Radahn
@@JS-kc1tmor the player character is just built different
@@JS-kc1tmI thought malenia’s bloom from the boss fight against the player is her third bloom?
@@Stixxx_. we can't really assume that the bloom outside her arena is hers, because that would mean the one after the fight would be the fourth, but there shouldn't even be a fourth bloom
For Radahn, it almost always seems to come down to whether or not he can pull off his meteor attack.
and fohr mog if he can nihil theyr asses
I predicted he would decimate them with his meteor attack but still, all 10 caught in it? Lol
@@WittyCorvian Well the player positioned himself so the meteor was a direct hit, and they were all grouped up idling
Yeah, that’s how a lot of Radahn Vs other Ai fights go. Radahn can be taken down to half pretty quickly by quite a few enemies, but that meteor is made to kill literally anything it hits, so if you get caught in it, you’re dead
Same thing with Malenia, that rot attack is what kills everyone because it takes like 10 minutes to disappear and the AI doesn't know to not be close when that happens lol
I love Mohg desperately trying to count down so he can heal but the Black Knives don't even let him reach Unus
He either clutch with Nihil or die trying
Carolus rex my *ryhmes with vigor
I love how malenia got mercked then basically goes and says "nah run that shit back" and enters creative mode

if she had gotten literally a single flurry out in her first phase it would have been all over
@@zjaeriqsanders1731 hence why she got Jumped. The black knives wasn’t having any of that lmao
Being the elden noob I am,for a hot second I thought she would lose. In my defense I’ve never played the game (too scared) but I love watching others play 😂
The black knife assassins failing to even get the beast clergyman form through was satisfying though. Malekith straight up fought like "Oh no, I know how you fuckers play"
The fact he went behind a pillar so they could use the slash-
He won't let the same mistake happen again.
Unless it's the player, of course
I will not have it stolen from me again.
Malekith didn’t just rely on an enormous healthbar, he actually outskilled and finessed them.
"Bloodhound‘s finesse" joined the chat:
That Radagon fight was just awesome to watch. I liked imagining him yelling, "ENOUGH!" Throughout the fight, when he did the triple ground slam.
he was so pissed he wanted to shatter to elden ring again
Best boi Maliketh was impressive to watch, he didn't even need to bring out his Black Blade to wipe the floor with these thieves. Destined Death will indeed not be stolen again!
I was genuinely surprised that they never staggered him. Also, him jumping behind that pillar was the best accident ever, it looked like he was actually taking cover from the projectiles. It's a good thing for him that he did, as those were like eight energy slashes, and the NPC and boss Rune of Death effects seem to stack at a factor that just doubles their damage and speed.
I know legit nothing about the lore of this game but it looks like the assassins are malikeths soldiers or something
damn straight Malikeths THE BEST lol
@@silentxwxlf In a way, I suppose you could say. The Black Knife Assassins, and/or a certain Witch, stole a fragment of the Rune of Death from Maliketh, imbuing their own daggers with the power of Destined Death but to a lesser degree than his namesake Black Blade. When you first enter Maliketh's arena he tells you that Destined Death will not be taken from him again. From a lore perspective, it feels like justice that he won this round 2 battle against the Black Knife Assassins. His whole purpose was to safeguard and also deliver Destined Death to Queen Marika's foes and he technically failed in that role by having a fragment of his Rune of Death stolen and then used to kill Marika's offspring, eventually triggering The Shattering.
Would have been SO cinematic to see actual Maliketh fighting the assassins with them all throwing those energy blades at each other lol
Fire giant 1st phase: "Oh wow, they might barely make it to 2nd phase!"
Fire giant 2nd phase: "Ayo what the health bar doin?"

oh probably destined death i guess
@@tylerd4884 No, just their weapon's Ash of War immediately being spammed by every single Black Knife that survived the first phase 🤣

I read this comment before watching that part of the video and laughed my ass off when it got to it.
Fire Giant: Here let me nearly one shot all of you with a combat roll real quick.
Black Knives: oh we're playing CHEAP? One sec
Somewhere it makes sense for Rennala to get bullied so hard. She isn't quite a demigod or some superhuman, just a big brain lady.
Rennala is up there with the Giants and the Dragons in power levels if you think about the lore. And both Dragons and Giants lost against Marika's Golden Order. Raya Lucaria and the Carian Royal Family led by Rennala did not get beaten. But it is true I don't think she has the title of a Demigod even though her children do.
@@OokamiTez I think she's definitely up there with the more powerful beings of the world, and she's definitely superhuman or post-human in some way given her life span and mastery of magic, but she doesn't have divine blood.
Her kids do through Radagon as their father, so it makes sense they're demigods.
@@dootmarine1140 Actually I think Demigod is more used as a title in Elden Ring. Because Radagon's children were not Demigods before Radagons marriage to Marika, where they were bestowed the title through being children of the Queens Consort. IIRC
@@OokamiTez thats just because the world doesn't know marika and radagon are the same person they were born demigod but only gained the title when they became stepchildren of marika
The assassins looked so confused when Radahn took off into the sky. Then after a few seconds before they got blasted they got even more confused like they didn't know why they were hearing boss music 😂
Radahn just annihilating them with Starfall has to be one of the best moments I've seen.
That was awesome and to a lesser degree Radagon dying of the flame but taking 8 of them with him with that last explosion is a close second imo
Phase 2 begins when he...uh....he uh....

INTO THE UPPER ATMOSPHERE
HIKARI INTENSIFIES
Yes but that’s more of an ai issue
@@rav3style what do u want the ai to dodge?
Radahn has to be one of my least favorite bosses cause his attacks can hit too many people at once it's bad enough he's like been a giant beyblade.
I love how when Radahn seemingly just disappears they all look confused and then the camera pans over to see the COMET OF PURE RAGE HURTLE TOWARDS THEM.
Assassin: Where ? What ! HOW..
Looks like they were tracking the horse that stays underground as an anchor for Radahn lands.
Dont mess with atomic bomb
"I MUST PROTECT LEONARD!"
I love that beast clergyman immediately started throwing hands, no hesitation
Honestly, Godfrey has the most respect from me, because he almost won without some cheesy ass move (e.g. Radahn’s meteor)
I was expecting Malekith to survive. I wasn't expecting him to be so dominant that they didn't even get him to phase 2. What an absolute monster
He's the only one that "outskilled" them (if an AI can do so). Pretty much all of the others won by massive AOE attacks that the AI wasn't smart enough to dodge.
I didn't see any Druchii's King here
Freezer vs krillin xD
Where was Maliketh? I only saw Gurranq who was the same move set minus the black blade aoe slice maliketh has. I want to see that one. Regardless, Gurranq handled his business.
There's a reason they had to steal a part of the rune and not take it by force.
My boi is the only one the God's feared
I like to think Godwyn died Boromir style. The dude was actually managing to hold his own until they started launching the Rune of Death at him until he was so weakened that he was held up before being dealt the final blow.
Gideon getting stuck in the corner, trying to cast law of regression, with the sigil appearing on top of a pile of carnage was comedy gold
The lone survivor walking towards Astel after seeing all their comrades get wiped before actually giving it a fair shot and surviving longer than all of them combined but ultimately facing a tragic end was the most cinematic AI battle I probably ever saw.
true folk
You should see Lorian vs the demon prince now that’s an cinematic AI battle
Lol, Astel just played with that poor guy, he got bullied to death
And the lone survivor that killed rykard 1st phase
I feel you fr, but still you gotta get on dat SaltyBet if this you yr ultimate AI battle ngl.
Seeing Maliketh perform accurate dodges, using terrain for cover and pivoting around it when necessary, etc, really makes it look like an actual fight and not just AI which is insane

Maliketh finessed the shit out of them
@@andrej8413 he’s upset that they stole pieces of his Black Blade to go off and do goon shit

Best one by far so far. Radahn was hilarious but for the most part, the winners only won because of frankly enormous AoE attacks. BC just showed why he's the boss.
@@SondreGrneng I mean, when you're fighting 10 people that all do percentage damage on their ranged attack
Fire Giant seemed extremely bugged, just constantly and rapidly losing health in phase 2, like he was hit by every "black knife" attack at the same time, but I don't think that's mathematically possible. They weren't even attacking him yet.
I see him always losing just above 4k when he enters phase 2, possibly to stay consistent with him ripping his leg off, but then Idk why Godrick doesn't lose some unless he gets it back for adding the dragon? Idk.
@@Shin_FTWeven with this though I think he has a minimum he can be put down to in phase 2. I feel like this was probably a bug
15:39 I love how the majority of what you see is a bunch of black clad ninjas forming a cloud of blades, and then one of them just comes in from the top rope
Sir Gideon looked all cool and badass delivering his monologue before the fight but in the end, he couldn't even get a single attack out as expected
1 carian slicer. Thats all he could manage
dude lasted longer than i expected (mostly because he spent the entire fight otg)
I was rooting for him, wanted to see an anime moment but ended up seeing some generally knowledgeable guy get shanked.
I wasn’t too surprised by his loss. Hes literally like dude from the wizard of oz moving doing things behind the scenes and having others do tasks for him. This is what happens when the people pull back the curtain and realize he’s just a dude , get em!! 😭😭😭😭 Like that meme “fight back! Fight back!” 😭😭😭

Maliketh's fight was PERSONAL. He recognized the shitheads who stole his piece of Death and proceeded to wipe the floor with them
He really made a comeback.
and oh boy, he made them pay
Piece of death sounds like a weird insult
... Except it was Ranni who stole it, she just *gave* it to the Assassin's. Like she gave Rykard the ability to become a big snake. Ranni, low key responsible for all of the worst shit in Elden Ring lore.
@@archsteel7 lol you mean the manipulative gods who demand service without recompense. They got what they deserved even miquella (Pitties Godwyn indicating they were close) and malenia and rykard were planning to overthrow the erdtre order.
That sad little walk the last assassin did during Astel’s meteorite attack is cracking me up. She saw the cosmos being manipulated before her eyes and decided she wasn’t getting paid enough for this.
Omg you made me lol
I lit smiled when I saw all of the black knives starting to get together in a little pretty circle just perfectly aligned to receive the comet Radahn, 10/10 🧐👌🏼🔥
I actually laughed when the fire giant rolled around and squashed the assassins like they were just annoying bugs to him.
It felt like Fate/Zero's Rider v/s Assassin all over again xD
He would gotten an ez dub if they all started where the player starts
Why did his hp melt when he got to phase 2 ? It didn't do that in phase one and the knives didn't even start attacking, feels like a bug.
Look about 8:20 He gets hit with Tiches blackflame shortly before the Phase 2 start.
That isn't a bug, it's just how much blackflame can ACTUALLY melt HP.
Most of the time of phase 1, they were shooting it but too far to actually hit it. But then? He got it, right to the injured leg weak point. And it lasted long enough to entirely kill phase 2.
@@FFKonoko Yes, but throught the whole first phase he was hit by a multitude of projectiles, none melted his hp this fast.
I know how fast it can melt hp, but everytime it happens, it's because the boss got hit by multiple projectiles that stack the effects. It doesn't just do a jump in effectiveness because of 1 projectile.

Radahn's hp dropped so fast I almost thought they'd one phase him somehow. Then he started his fly up animation and all I could think was "all that for a drop of blood?"
And Godfrey went down like a true warrior. He almost had that last BK
You actually can kill him between phases. Damage overtime effects continue to work during it.
@@dontmisunderstand6041 that makes sense
I’ve one phased him on my last like 5 playthroughs… bleed on twin blades is nuts man.
I was watching Radhan get beat up and I was thinking "cmo'n my boi do the meteor thing!"
Radhan is the GOAT
This boss fight is the truth of the Law. ❤
I like how most of the bosses in the unlikely battles end up being canonically accurate in power. Like Radahn being able to survive Malenia and they both survived, Astel Nuturalborn not being susceptible to blackflame because he's cosmic made it easy for him to beat them, it's all pretty cool if you pay attention to the small details!
Also Maliketh beating them first phase. Payback for the lore
@@BLgunsliger85450 it shows why they didn't fight him.
Godfrey would have survived lore wise I bet.
@@Frencho9for Godfrey, my headcanon is that the two last black blade sacrificed themselves so the black blade leader could finish Hoarah Loux
They were all pretty beat up
@@rafasrGodfrey can destroy fucking the most powerful version of placidusax with 5 heads. I'm sure, that he can eliminate black khifes
Maliketh getting his revenge without even pulling his sword, what a beast.
My top 3 bosses in terms of "salute, you absolute monster" are Radahn, Maliketh, and Malenia. They're all just too cold.
It looked like Maliketh had been spending all his time training for this Night, dude was toe to toe with all 10 of them
I would give Morgott a spot on that list, the old man knows how to throw down
Whats with godfrey??
Malekith is the most powerful being. Other than elden beast
I like Godfrey the most. He respects you. Even in his wild form, he's still a gentleman.
I'd salute astel, too. He took it like a champ
Gideon: *says speech*
Black Knifes: “and I take that personally”
Radahn: Haha Meteor
Gideon: THEY JUMPIN ME, THEY JUMPIN MEEE
Rennala's fight was so brutal. I actually started feeling bad for her.
Remember the black knife assassin's are from Ranni, Rennala's daughter.
Literally raped by a group of men
@@sutarn_gamer4159 and rennala’s boss fight IS Ranni anyway
@@LizardaWizard Oh yeah that makes this even worse lmao
@@LizardaWizard isn't that just her spell to protect her mother? It's not really her in person. wait, technically you're still right.
I personally love the Maliketh fight. As soon as it begins, he dashed out to not be surrounded only to go into a beast incantation that hit a bunch of enemies in different directions since the assassins immediately surrounded him again. The movement was phenomenal and the attacks were something out of a movie
It's like he knew exactly how to counter his own weapon which makes it amazing to see.
Truly the greatest warrior amongst the shadows
He will not have death stolen from him again!
He's been waiting to do that for a long time.
He *definitely* enjoyed that revenge.
Assassins: "there are enough of us to block out the sun!"
Rick: "then we will fight in the shade"
No wonder the assassins had to stealthily and cowardly steal a piece of destined death from maliketh, they couldn't stand a chance against him, even when he wasn't in his true form!!
Did not expect fire giant to get deleted like that. The rest were pretty expected. That Radahn meteor though was so epic
what happened to his health bar when second phase started?
@@Drenosir I was wondering the same thing. I'm wondering if the the DoT stacked during the cut scene. I know it happens when you Rot him before the leg comes off, he'll take a fat bit of damage when the scene ends
@@RuiNDieM1988 I've seen some videos in the meantime and I'm pretty sure it somehow stacked during the cutscene or right before it which led to so big damage
His health bar automatically drops by almost 1/5 upon starting phase 2, add to that the DoT and it's prob the result we see.
@@woutv.m.808 its actually just a glitch lol
And as a general reminder, these were assassins. They couldn't be heard, they couldn't be seen.
It's no wonder Godwyn couldn't take them, he was dead before he even thought to draw a weapon.
And no demigod had ever been killed so he had no idea he even should fear assassins.
@@libertyprime6932 He was a warrior. He knew to be wary of any kind of armed foe.
The problem is, he never even perceived them before he died
@@Melqhii but there was no need for him to even be wary of other foes. until destined death was stolen he literally couldn't die to anyone or anything.
@@Eclipsed_Embers exactly, an assassination under the guise of the perfect premise. If it was a straight up fight, then Godwyn never would have lost even against all of them.
What if he never intended to fight them. What if he was in on Ranni or Marika's plan...
that fight with the soldier of godrick reminded me of the "let him get up, let him get up!" meme 😂
This is still one of my fav NPC battle “experiments” out there

I like how they're all standing around like :
"Where'd he go?"
"I think we got him"
"What's that sound?"

Something so cool about seeing all of them gang up on the bosses in near unison
The fact that radahn and rykard were able to fight them all off like looking at ranni like “I see you you little shit you ain’t gonna get me THAT easily”
It's just a sibling prank bro.
Bro, I totally forgot the Black Knives were hired by Ranni
Yo I didn’t even consider that those were my favs too. Goated comment
@@SamAspden, they do a bit of tomfoolery around these parts
and astel
I swear, Gideon Ofnir with Actual Poise would be one of the most powerful bosses. He didn't even get one spell off during the gank, but I know his DPS is some of the best.
If he didn't get staggered by the fucking wind his damage output could be the most devastating just because of the sheer amount of spells he can throw at you
Sir Gideon Ofnir, The All Poising!
Not really, his attacks are really rng based, it depends a lot which spells he uses.. And yeah, the poise is his weakness..
*_Sir Gideon Ofnir, The All Flinching!_*
His choice of spells and incants is actually depending on what spells and incants you have learned. So... Being a dipstick strength tard or dex nerd with no spells except "I cast fist" he can't really fight back all that well either.
That slow walk towards astel was a cinematic masterpiece
That was cool! Especially Radahn and Soldier of Godrick. That was unexpected 😅
I saw Radahn's orbital strike coming and he still managed to surpass my expectations
>He just decimated all 10 of them
@@LectroBer
I think annihilated is the better word to use here...
@@rhodes3983 I think you'd be right. Reading how the 10 of them were decimated by the orbital strike did make me laugh though
I'm surprised how well Godrick's move set is for taking on gank squads. If only he didn't spend so much time chopping off is arm (or whoever's arm that originally was)
That's the great irony of Godrick, his moveset is actually really diverse and scary due to the grafting, he's just too clumsy to properly use it and thus his attacks are slow and telegraphed.
His axe is really, really good for invasions at mid level.
I think it's quite a few people's arms. Maybe some legs and torsos too.....
I knew Malenia would beat them but I sure as hell wasn’t expecting her first phase to get walloped like that
RADAHN SAID, "I'VE HAD JUST ABOUT ENOUGH OF THOSE ANNOYING BLACK FLAMES."
