    Here is the Pinned Comment:
CORRECTION: It’s been brought to my attention by multiple people that the Claymore is in fact good. After trying it out for myself, I would have to agree. To get it, in Castle Morne, run up the mound of rubble in the first courtyard with multiple misbegotten around it. This leads up to another room in the castle, where a chest can be found in one of the corners, the Claymore is found there.

I'll continue to update this comment with Helpful information as time goes on.
Have a great weekend, and thanks for watching!

    Are you a wizard?
Mages after the Meteorite Staff + Rock Sling early game start (plenty of guides here on youtube which explain the steps needed to acquire those): after you exhaust D's dialogue (@5:27) you can safely take the transporter trap in the Agheel ruins (careful not to trigger Agheel Dragon spawn) into Caelid & grab those without fear of losing any interactions, quests, or items. Over the course of *many* fresh runs I have determined this is the earliest possible time to retrieve those items if you want D's full dialogue because you're basically only waiting on D to be at the tree in Summonwater Village & even if you do miss that interaction, he'll be waiting for you at Roundtable later, anyway. So you'd only be missing out on a really cool series of interactions (btw linger/idle a tiny bit before actually speaking to him at the graveyard location for an extra little treat of dialogue), it's not like you'll miss out on his quest or anything but let's be real: you're here for that lore and flavor and full playthrough experience, right?
Maybe do Alexander first too, before the trap, if you want to be extra safe but I personally only ever had D's meeting outside of Roundtable be skipped by going straight to the trap. I've never seen it skip Alexander or anybody else, only risk Melina insisting I go to Roundtable especially early if I stray from the direct path to 1) the spell first, (optional: traveling perfumer set) then 2) staff, then 3) fast traveling back to your site of grace preference before continuing the guide wherever you left off.
If you plan out your trip for the spell & staff in advance, after D marks your map, you should be good to go 👍
Additionally, the Arrow's Reach talisman is past 3 enemies inside the structure overlooking the Gatefront site of grace - simply pop a U-turn to the left after grabbing the golden seed @2:39. Despite being meant for projectile ammo, this talisman greatly increases the quality-of-life factor of your Rock Sling, improving the tracking quite a bit and the range to an almost absurd degree. I cannot recommend it enough as your main talisman once you pick up Rock Sling, it makes firing that specific spell at odd angles and from long distances almost never waste the cast like you otherwise would without the talisman.
    --
Additional notes & tips for my sorcerer brethren who have already fully watched this guide first:
Prisoner/Astrologer are the obvious go-tos on starting as a caster build but you can go pretty much any character base (class) you want by beelining straight to the boss fight that unlocks Sellen, right before/after picking up a guaranteed Glintstone Staff drop from a noble sorcerer walking around by himself just south of her location, above the carriage patrol. If you hit a golden rune graveyard, you've gone too far and you can just backtrack a tiny bit to find him pacing near a wall.
You are *very* loosely free to grab anything specific you want/need from eastern and southern Limgrave (Mistwood; Weeping Peninsula) which do not involve progressing NPC questlines. So you can even pick up a few early interactions like starting Boc, Kenneth, & Alexander (or ignore them when they yell out for you; they'll sit tight and be fine until you get back to Shatter's progression), I would just avoid Blaidd before exhausting Kale's dialogue (& definitely avoid the Forlorn Hound Evergaol!) + triggering Dragon Agheel spawning / interacting with Yura in any way, by making wide berths around these trigger locations until the relevant sections of this video. You can play it extra safe by avoiding as many NPCs & bosses as you can, but stuff like Sellen's shop & purchasing the lantern from the isolated merchant won't interfere with anything by doing them extra early if you plan ahead & beeline from one location to another before getting back to the guide.
At around @2:15 you're free to take the spirit spring next to the Seaside Ruins site of grace, fight the enemy there, and receive the only Intelligence scaling Ash of War in all of this part of the guide - and it's really useful as an AOE ash of war anyway! Perfect for enemies hiding around corners & invisible scarabs, both of which can give Intelligence builds a hard time otherwise. Just be sure to select the Magic affinity when affixing it to your favorite non-small, non-whip, non-unique-skill weapon!
There are also a number of Memory Slot unlocks available throughout Shatter's guide here so be on the lookout for: ofc the one in the Roundtable Twins' shop, but also Oridys's Rise in Weeping Peninsula (take the spirit spring next to Castle Morne Rampart site of grace), and - if you're feeling REALLY adventurous, Lenne's Rise to the south of Bestial Sanctum has a trick shot using Torrent w/ the spirit spring there as well
    --
This guide was core to and invaluable for me at tweaking and fine-tuning just how early I could snag useful pure-Magic build items & still be able to experience everything the game has to offer, absent of any frustrating roadblocks. Have fun!

    Excellent guide!
In order not to miss any of the NPC quest/dialogue, the player would have to interact with a bunch of them and go back and forth before beating the first boss. Like most people, I just followed the light during my first play through. Missed many of these side quest because I was progressing too fast.

I want to note that Alexander has some additional dialogue & extra immersion if when you go to the burning church, instead of letting yourself get invaded, or perhaps after you visit Roundtable Hold, you can detour sharply to the cliff facing Mistwood & down a spirit spring. In a cave in the immediate location of where you land you'll find Alexander stumped at the dead end but happy to see you again. When you go back to following Shatter's video Alexander will have a little extra dialogue both times you encounter him than what's shown in the video. Just a little extra flavor I discovered by messing around w/ what order I'm completing things in various fresh playthroughs to see how each class handles linear progression of the story, world building, and completing certain challenges for each
These walkthrough tutorials are a blessing & I'm having a lot of fun loosely following these instructions w/ various starting classes ♥️

It all begins with the quests, though, and there’s just way too much stuff to remember without this guide despite having done all of it before. I have no clue how you’ve managed to make this series, what a good job.

For new players, or those in new game plus who are following this guide, there is a very useful farming spot which anyone can use off of the bestial sanctum. First reach the bestial sanctum site of grace from D’s teleporter. Then, travel down the cliff until you reach the site of grace in front of the dragon bridge. The gargoyle shouldn’t notice you if you are careful, and even if it does you outrun him on horseback. As for the vulgar militia, they also aren’t fast enough to pose a threat and will not bother you near you site of grace destination. Dismount and rest at the site of grace. It’s should be called Farum Greatbridge on the map. Then, go a little bit further up the hill and looking up the hill, turn right. (Apologies for the poor directions.) you should go past a decently flat area with a few militiamen. There will then be a hill you can go down with multiple poison gas traps. They can be spotted and avoided, but even if you get poisoned it’s fine if you are traveling quickly on torrent/have some flasks of healing. Down this hill there is a bridge to cross. Be careful if you do this at night, as there will be a night’s Calvary on the bridge. If for some reason you cannot just run past him, just wait till day to repeat this process from the Farum Greatbridge site of grace. Past the bridge, there should a be a site of grace which you should immediately discover and rest at. It should be called Lenne’s Rise on the map. Don’t worry about the tower for now, from the site of grace turn west. There should be a path leading you under the bridge that the dragon resides on. Go down that path on horseback. (Torrent is crucial.) be prepared, because as you travel down it, a glowing sigil will appear and a giant ball will spawn. The moment this happens do a 180 to the right, and be careful to not fall off the cliff. Immediately head back in the site of grace’s direction up the hill and if you have done it right (it’s not as precise as I make it sound, trust me) the ball will fall off the cliff and you will receive (on a new game with no rune buffs) about 1900 runes. This is easily the best rune farm for very early game if you need it, (save for Varré’s quest but that’s in Liurnia and post-Godrick) but to be honest, save for buying things from shops and getting those few extra levels you need, most of your time should be spent just exploring and having fun if it’s your first game. Rune farming does get pretty dull after a while. Sorry if any of my instructions were unclear, I’m sure someone can elaborate in the responses.

Actually, the Claymore is quite good especially in the early game. It's unique moveset puts it far and above other weapons you can find at the start of the game. Best of all, it can have ashes of war put on it meaning as soon as you get into Stormveil and get the 2nd whetblade you can make the Claymore heavy, keen or quality which is awesome especially if you are using order's blade on top of that, or even later on Bloodflame blade. It's a solid weapon and is really only bested by late game weapons.

Agreed, Elden Ring is too vast and a freaking maze, but those guides are very detailed and help you quite a lot to understand what to do, how and when exactly to do it. It is easy to miss the most known npcs quests in early game, especially because if you progress too much to the game, they either get locked down or expire after a while, these guides prevent such a thing. It is actually a job in a job for all the efforts and passion he puts into those ones at all.
