The gravity magic weapons are my favorites particularly the big colossal sword/weapon ones. Fallingstar beastjaw, Ruin's Great Sword, And Radahn's Swords are my favorites though royal greatsword isn't too far behind
Glinstone dart was not nerfed glinstone pebble was. Glinstone kris already did less damage but had more range, and also was never a true combo like pebble was. Plus for some reason the tracking on dart is wack asf you’ll shoot right past somebody right in front of you half the time.
I'd put wings of astel in S tier, it becomes extremely strong with an optimized intdex build and it's ash of war has both great crowd control and stagger potential too.
exactly its just so versatile, use the scav sword w/ frost build up so you have frost/bleed with the great dual moveset, then tons of flexibility with heavy atk and ash
I'm sorry. I cannot accept anything lower than S tier for Fallingstar beast jaw. I used that as my weapon for ng4, and it made even malenia easy. Can't be anything but S tier. Same with wing of astel.
That's cos it's not considered a unique weapon, which ironically makes it unique in this list. You can do everything to it that you can with a normal weapon, even though it has magic damage built-in and int scaling as if it were a unique. So you can give it any ash of war that works on its weapon class, buff it with spells or incantations and even apply greases and such to it. It's just VERY flexible.
Oh and you can also upgrade it with regular smithing stones instead of needing somber ones. You can also get it in literally the first region (Limgrave), so unlike many of the others here you can start your playthrough with it. Also unlikely to ever be nerfed. :)
Gravitas ashes of war are for fighting groups of flying enemies. It is really hard to miss with, and not only knocks them on the ground but ensures a charged heavy because you don’t need to chase down the fallen enemy. I’m pretty sure they take bonus damage if they get attacked with gravity while airborne. Pulling spells and ashes work in pvp against jump attack spammers, or at least it does for me
Gravitas and Alabaster Lord Pull also work great alongside things like roiling magma. Just fire at your feet, take the nearest enemy hostage, and watch them burn
It also makes you crouch to which can be used for a free dodge when you get overwhelmed and it's burst can kill low health adds if you get overwhelmed and agrod on. Then you can combine the interrupt with the offhand like lets say carian greatsword spell. Lots of damage and wide sweep as well. Its how I killed that bow chick in that tower.
They're also meant to have a follow up. Example: Gravitas into Adula's Moonblade or Carian Greatsword; Set up Rolling Magma, pull enemies in with Gravitas, let them get hit by the explosion.
For any caster that likes a fine mix of melee to spells: TRY the Meteoric Ore Blade. It has the lowest reach but the highest physical damage out of all the katanas. Use your magic to compensate for the lack of reach and it will perform miracles.
@@t0m0d0m0 whether or not there are better options out there is irrelevant. We’re talking about Int focused Katana’s. And this dude is saying the Meteoric Ore blade “will perform miracles.” Meanwhile it’s a mid weapon at best. Moonveil blows it out of the water in every way imaginable and is prob the 2nd or 3rd best Int weapon in the entire game. Behind only Darkmoon GS & Deaths Poker and maybe Wing of Astel.
St. Trina’s Sword is very useful with the sleep when fighting the Godskin Duo as you can put one to sleep and then focus on killing the other. They’ll not wake up from sleep unless you hit them. This can also be achieved with sleep pots though.
Except sleep pots require the very rare and non-respawning St. Trina's lilly, where as the Sword of St. Trina does not. So yes the pots have longer range, but you won't cringe as much if you accidently miss a sword swing then you would a miss on a pot throw.
I really like the Carian Knight Sword, when I started using it, I was confused with its heavy attack. When I realised I could do a block heavy, it made riposting really cool and made fighting those Lions strangely easier.
the tier list is trash some pretty great weapons were too low while other shitter ones were higher (i mainly account for pvp). i can tell just by the video its his first fromsoft game. im here to see all int weapons tho
@@12-OneTwo That i don't know/recall. I don't use it anymore since I am high level and there are better weapons if you have 80 int, dex and faith like me. I currently use the serpent king's sword (with golden vow and flame buffs, you can kill Godfrey with 8 hits or so), deathpoker (for slower bosses and dragon bosses) and wings of astel for normal dragons. I'm kinda overpowered rn, and I'm not even level 400
Two things: A good use for Gravitas and Alabaster Lord Pull is to fire a magma spell at your feet and use the ash to pull enemies into the magma. Second: the wing’s version of Nebula is more effective against single targets, while the star’s version is better against groups
After using them in specialized runs, Loretta's War Sickle and Sword of St Trina are exceptionally fun weapons, Loretta's unique moveset and AOW feel great to use, and conking people out mid fight, sometimes for a minute, is funnier than it should be to me, plus that extra damage or healing chances really do a lot.
You failed to mention that the glintstone dart has a heavy follow up that deals huge damage and poise damage and the range of the follow up thrust attack is double or triple the distance of the normal glintstone pebble. You also didn't mention that its chargeable unlike glintstone pebble.
You completely missed the second move with glinstone kris when you press R2 it lunges you forward thrusting into the enemy doing more damage than any of the other attacks with the weapon and it has massive range allowing you to cover ground and move towards an enemy really quick.
I feel you undersell the impact of sleep with the St Trina sword. Everybody thinks "Yeah, I won that fight cause my bleed killed the enemy faster!" but nobody bothers to think "Yeah, I won that fight because the enemy wasn't attacking me because of the sleep" which I feel is a bit disappointing, because on some enemies you can just chain sleep them to have them literally never attack you
That sword is broken in pvp. He definitely doesn’t know wassup. Dual st Trina’s swords is close to unbeatable because of the heavy sleep proc + dual ss damage and move set. It’s insane
You missed out on the Glintstone Kris's secondary part of the weapon's ash of war: Not only does this weapon have an amazing high damaging magic dart, BUT it also has a very fast finisher thrust as part of the moveset. The ash of war is triggered by an L2, then immediately finish with a thrusting R2. What makes this an amazing weapon is that you're able to alternate casting sorcery in conjunction with using the weapon's ash war, and the finishing thrust scales damage with talismans like the shard of Alexander for both PVE and PVP.
My first playthrough, I leaned into a Strength/ Int setup. I used the Royal Greatsword w/ a greatshield and Clayman's Harpoon w/ the Ice Spear Ashe of War. I was mostly following Fextralife's Royal Knight build. It was a lot of fun. Got me through a ton of content. That is, of course, before I discovered the beauty of the Ordovis Greatsword and Siluria's Tree. I respecced immediately after that. Personally, I don't like dual wielding. It feels awkward, so even though Radahn's Greatswords are cool af, they weren't very fun to use. And the Fallingstar Beast Jaw feels so... weak. Idk why, but it never feels like I'm doing that much damage with it, especially when compared to Ice Spear on Clayman's Harpoon. And its range feels inconsistent.
An extra thing about the Clayman harpoon: you could put an ash of war or you could buff it up with scholar's armament e to a thon of damage. I did it in my first playthrough and kept the weapon untill I got to the moonlight greatsword
sorry man but, Colossal weapons should be higher BECAUSE of what they are. They do crazy poise damage to any mob including bosses and have amazing scaling as well, especially the Fallingstar Beast Jaw
That's fair. As I said in the video, I was conflicted between B and A. The Starscourge Greatsword being what it is, is why I decided at the very top of B.
I understand that the Carian Knight Sword isn't good for a spellblade build, but I love this sword so much that I don't care about that. It has gotten me to Ng+4 and I won't drop it even after Ng+7. Plus, Carian Grandeur is epic.
The death ritual spear deserves better I mean grups of enemies yes, but think about large bosses being hit by multiple spears every wave It well works well Not like s tier tho
I actually like running meteoric ore blade during stormveil or really any area with flying enemies. Gravitas knocks them all down, makes em a lot easier. Gravitas also staggers enemies that are pulled close and you can chain in the R2 or charged R2 really easily, which deals great damage and great poise damage.
Vastly underestimating the Death's Poker. The lingering AoE from its skill is far more effective than it should be as you can launch it from range and the enemy will beeline towards you directly through it, racking up the damage very quickly.
better that he ranked it lower than it should’ve been lol, don’t want to attract attention to it since it’s seriously so OP. Shredded through the game with it.
NorZZa: royal greatsword at b tier and death's poker at A tier Me: *EMOTIONAL DAMAGE AGAIN* Let me tell you why though: The royal greatsword is op and does a lot of damage along with frostbite which combos perfectly with high damage (Give it an A tier pls) Also I love Blaidd the wolf. Death poker is an ez S tier as it does the most frostbite and it is unlike most weapons designed to help you fight against enemies and bosses whereas most weapons are just for smackin bosses. But I respect your opinion though
Ehh, while I agree that royal greatsword its probably a b tier, deaths poker is definately an S tier, great damage, great frost buildup and a really versatile ash of war
depends on your perspective. Some people have the GTFO mentality and want to blast a repel spell/AOW to throw enemies away doing damage. Me personally, I'm more of a "GET OVER HERE" type player, and want to rip everyone toward me so I can eviserate them without chasing them down.
Carian Knight Sword is really good early on, but if you like Carian Grandeur, at higher levels, you'd be better off using a normal sword and put the ash of war to get better scaling.
I used carian knight sword all the way to elden beast. The only downside with the weapon was probably the ash of war being to slow but other than that it is good.
The carian knight sword should be in S tier. I use a carian knight build and 2 hand it, it's good enough to take out a bloodhound's step spammer in bull goat armor with a rivers of cum before patch 1.06
The UA-cam man made a valid point in, why would you use Helphen's Steeple when weapons like Death's Poker have the high damage and frostbite by default?
@@ghoulishgoober3122 bc Helphen’s frostbite is 90, poker is 65, and dark moon is 55, iirc, I don’t use it. Plus the buff got buffed in 1.0.7 to last 60 seconds so pretty easy full-fight uptime. Also… greatswords powerstance beautifully as he mentioned with Radahn, so why not both?
@@peepeestorm3187 im talking precisely pve I was level 302 when i decided - "ya know what? Lets try out the old meta again!" And i was met with heavy disappointment
@@SovietUnion_ I did a run with the weapon somewhat recently where I was able to handle everything in the game with relative ease. With a max level of 150, the stats were soemthing like: 40 Vig 30 Mind 26 End 12 Str 12 Dex 50 Int 50 Fai 9 Arc If you start Confessor, your STR/DEX are exactly where you need them to wield the weapon so you don't have to use any early levels on those stats. I use the golden order seal to apply buffs since it weighs 0 and falls into the stat distribution of the build. The best part about planning a SNAF build from new game is that the weapon, sacred seal, and most of the talismans you'd want for the setup are available as soon as you start the game. From jump, I like to get my hands on the magic and fire scorpion charms as well as the ritual sword talisman. Super late game I like to add the Dragoncrest greatshield to mitigate the negative effect of 2 scorpions lol. And of course Shard of Alexander is a must. You gotta wait a bit for that one also, tho' lmao
i think you might just not be good with colossal swords; theyre not inherently bad weapons they just require a different approach to combat and a sigma mindset
glintstone dart skill got follow up thrust attack if you press heavy attack button after firing the dart, the thrust is longer than glintstone pebble ash of war follow up heavy attack thrust
I'm sorry but having wing of astel below S+ tier in a pve discussion is just criminal. Versatile moveset with fast attacks, gòod scaling, good range with R2s, disgusting stagger and damage on weapon art. Hell, the weapon art can 1shot larger bosses with the right setup.
Moonveil? Dude you might as well do a blood rating and put ROB on it too. I was taking you fully seriously up until you said moonveil. Plus you didn't even address the follow up for glintstone pebble etc. It does more than double the damage of the initial casting and easily roll catches if they avoid the first part of the aow. Sorry NorZZa, I normally like your rankings, but this one is just questionable.
Great video and great timing since I’m trying to plan out a weapon focused int build I’m just curious, do you not know about the follow up of glintstone pebble and dart? Hitting R2/T after casting gives a lunge that does so much damage. I feel like those two weapons should be higher on the list
Yeah it's really good for people who want to close the distance after casting a phalanx spell or something. I think the charge up time for fully charging it should be lowered.
This makes no sense. Just because it's listed in the wiki/ has magic damage/ has int scaling and requirements it doesn't mean it's an intelligence weapon. The family head ash of war scales with dex and strength, wierdly enough, and it has a bad int scaling, so it's not really an int weapon. The starscourge greatsword gets the most AR on a strength build, or a quality build, because yes, the scaling on dex is higher than the one in int, it makes no sense going str/int for that weapon. Same thing for the fallingstar beast jaw and the ruins greatsword. Also the SoNaF??? Why??? Your content isn't the worst thing ever, but this video ""misleading"" and wrong in some ways or others
I think he wasn't caring about what their best scaling was, but rather if it scaled at all with intelligence at all. Essentially, this isn't the list of the best intelligence scaling weapons, but rather the list of the best weapons that have intelligence scaling.
@@trevorjamieson8892 yeah but some weapons aren't for intelligence related builds at all, like the starscourge greatsword, the ruins greatsword and the fallingstar beast jaw. They have an intelligence scaling, but it's so bad that you shouldn't even bother upgrading these weapons on a strength intelligence build. Of course, he never tries any build but just respecs any character that he has, and he did the same thing here, he just picks a weapon, swings it against the soldiers in the gatefront ruins and then decides their rankings: this isn't how you should do these videos. "thE bAstArD stArs Is JusT thE wiNg of AsteL buT wOrsE, bEcAusE tHe wEaPon arT hAs tHe sAme namE, anD tHerEforE it mUst bE tHe sAme!1!1". Just because they're called cloud in latin it doesn't mean they're the same, they have different purposes, one of them is like flame of the redmanes, while the other is designed as a "midrange aggressive attack". It has even a really good split scaling. Just because it's a flail, it doesn't mean it's worse in *every aspect*
I've been playing as a sorcery build and I've been wielding the moonveil katana all game, it's so fun. The timing is a little wonky sometimes if you're trying to chain the ash of war but it's just so useful.
The timing is wonky? wth are you on about? Transient Moonlight is one of the fastest weapon skills in the entire game? It comes out lightning fast. It’s absolute cancer in PvP. What more do you want??
While he didn't say, I'm pretty sure he was ranking the weapon's effectiveness in PVE, the main part of the game. In that aspect however, I would still bump it up to at the very least high B tier, as putting a stronger enemy to sleep can be highly useful when fighting groups of enemies (as shown with the godskin duo fight becoming much easier with one of them asleep.)
St Trinas Sword is DEFINITELY better than C tier. On tougher humanoids, as a mage, its amazing. Put them to sleep, buff and blast them to hell with your biggest spell.
So I know this is old 1.06 content, but glintstone kris C tier? That things ash of war regularly hits in the 2k range and can be buffed with the godfrey icon and shard of alexander to do even more with like, 40 int. It costs 10 FP for a casual 2k+ damage. You were comparing it to other daggers like "Ya, you can't infuse it for bleed status so it's a bad weapon" and, no? You use the glintstone kris for the glintstone dart, you know, the most FP efficient sorcery in the entire game since it outdamages comet, costs less than half of comet, has a lower stat requirement than comet, has a faster cast time than comet. Even in 1.06 when it was nerfed it was still the best general purpose ranged sorcery in the game since it did so much for barely anything. It's a value machine that only gets beaten by shard spiral on large bosses. Oh but moonveil is the best because you like katanas and value the free damage bleed gives you. This list is absolutely rage bait.
Not surprised in slightest that yet again, you have just like in faith weapon video, really bad takes. You straight up forget that many of these weapons have additional mechanics and applications. Which significantly improve their standing. Glintstone Kris is one of the stronger weapons in the game which nukes enemies if you're going Int. Clayman's harpoon is hands down one of the strongest int weapons in the entire game. Because not only it scales off Int but it also can be buffed. Mists of Slumber is also one of the most useful ashes on the weapon because you use it as combo piece. You sleep enemies, nuke them afterwards with something like Carian Grandeur. It's just good. So many other examples. Terrible video. Clearly haven't played this game enough.
I would put the beast claw in S tier considering how broken it gets most of the time. I showed my friend how to get it and made him just test it out ( he was using dual katanas till then ) and I regret it xD Maah man didn't stop spamming the ability wherever he went. I can't tell you how many *hard* enemies he has just cheesed from distance. For instance the crucible knight in deeproot depths, godskins ( almost all of them including in the farum azula ) , loretta in haligtree, fire giant, the hard dragons in farum azula, magma wryms ( both in volcano manor and snowfields ) and many more that I cannot remember right now. It's straight up broken cuz you can just wear heavy armor to tank all the damage and spam it, you will do better damage if you keep spamming the ability on staggered enemies as well. Every time we got invaded while playing together he would stand in center and spam the ability to make the invader roll and I go for melee attacks, poor invaders didn't stand a chance. That weapon ash of war is really strong and I would strongly advice you NOT to show it to your lazy friends cuz THEY WILL CHEESE THEIR WAY TO MALENIA. ( idk about malenia, he still hasn't reached her yet ).
i used this weapon to blitz ng+ up to 7 lmao it’s so broken. melts every main boss in the game except for godfrey and maliketh since they close the distance too fast.
Nice vid, but forgot the much stronger follow up combo on GlintStone pebble with the Lazuli Glintstone Sword. Glintstone + Heavy Attack does a decent thrust that staggers most enemies IMO.
The charged heavy attack of the Ruin Greatsword as has a small gravity second hit similar to the gravity chunk item so when you break poise you do massive damage and hit twice.
I made an intelligence build and i put everything into intelligence, i was using the bloodhounds fang for a long time with just enough strenght and dex to wield it and then i suddenly realized how i not only have the moonveil in my inventory but i also have like 70 intelligence and it was a complete game changer! xD almost dubbled my damage output with a few upgrades to the weapon!
Falling starbeast jaw Royal Wolfy Great sword Meteorite Katana how can u not love gravitas?! go behind enemy stab ground AOE damage then drags them toward u and then follow up back stab mostly frontal attacks stab ground drop AOE damage and follow up with R2 Clapper extraordinaire
People sleep so hard on Carian Knights sword, ppl don’t realize that it’s heavy has block properties in heavy start up. And carian grandeur has decent hyper armor. It makes a nearly perfect Spell Knight weapon.
Small critizism on the claymans harpoon: Yes you can put any ash of war on it, but to get any sort of decent int scaling, you have to choose a magic infusion. At which point, why even bother with that spear over any other. Sadly the initial int scaling doesn't improove the scaling of the magic infusion. Might just be biased tho, because I personally find spears boring to use.
The thing with the Poon is that it's the only Int scaling weapon that you can buff with Scholar's Armament as well which can boost its AR well past other weapons in its class during its effect time. With that, you can also still infuse it with AoW of your choice, keeping it on Standard infusion doesn't cut the power of something like Ice Spear or Pebble too dramatically at all because of its natural Int scaling and you have other options like Impaling Thrust which do silly damage when buffed. It also pairs well with the Jellybro Shield for a sword n board set up if you want, and it also gets a great boost from Stormhawk Deenh's buff in boss fights, all three buffs stack on a weapon with natural Int scaling, and really good speed and range. If you're a buff build, this is your stick.
Gravitas is the best ash of war. I never would have made it past the birds in Faram Azula without it. Against anything not flying it sucks, but against those dang birds, it's a life saver.
The glintstone pebble ash and the glintstone dart ash are really good because of the charging forward attack you do after using them by pressing the heavy attack button. So if you’re on ps4/5 you’d press L2 then R2. Especially in pvp I can easily one shot people or deal most of their health because if you land the pebble/dart, the follow up is guaranteed
Actually dart is not a true combo. Glinstone dart is weaker then pebble in favor of more range. And I actually think with the nerf on pebble it’s not a true combo anymore either I could be wrong tho they definitely nerfed the dmg tho
This is probably one of the most heavily biased weapon analysis videos I've seen. I get that tier lists are often very opinionated, but the dismissal of all colossal weapons because you don't like their speed while dismissing the damage they do per hit and tremendous stagger/poise breaking potential really just makes it look like you've never used them in any serious way. And then you said katanas were your favorite weapons and it all made sense.
…the entire video he was talking about his own opinion… yeah no wonder he’s opinionated. Sheesh. Also how has the fromsoft community managed to invent racism but with weapon preference? It’s borderline impressive.
Not mentioning that Glintstone Kris and Lazuli Glintstone Sword have a secondary attack to their ashes of war activation or thinking Stars of the Bastard are bad, in any way make sme think you are just bad at using Int based weapons... EDIT: Jesus, slumber? Bad? WTF? Godskin Duo cure?
I also ran into it super early in my mage playthrough, and you can use it without stat investment by 2 handing it. Right at the start of the game, you can take the elevator down to sofria and access an area with maybe 20 enemies that can drop it. Takes a bit to mow them down, but it's doable
The scepter of all knowing is way more useful than he indicated. Its ash of war increases damage taken by holy and magic damage or something. Probably not enough to change its position but its not useless in pve as he makes it out to be.
Starscourge Great Swords are the lightest way to duel wield colossal swords at 20.0 units. Dual wielding zweihanders weighs 31.0 units so Starscourge are good for people who don’t want to devote loads of levels and talismans to equip load.
The reason why sleep is an okay status ailment is for critical builds and those assassins dagger talismans. Also makes me sad to hear people say the hammer move set is bad :p
Im new to ER, started with an Astrologer , I am lvl 40 right now, been rocking the Meteorite staff for awhile now. I dont use any other weapons tho? I am a little confused, and still trying to understand why these weapons are "INT" weapons when they are physical attacks? I was expecting to see all staffs and things like that on this. Can someone explain to me please? THANK YOU
I agree with your top pick but Fallingstar Beast Jaw and Wing of Astel are both S-tier. FBJ trivializes 95% of the game (although it is definitely weak against a few enemies) and Wing of Astel is just sooooo good. Clayman’s Harpoon is cute, but it makes no sense to have it above them and Darkmoon Greatsword looks super cool but is otherwise overrated. It doesn’t have a “press L2 and win the game” ash like FBJ and it’s damage and moveset aren’t as good as Wing of Astel. Also, a bunch of swords you had low actually get really good in NG+ when you get two of them - in particular Sword of St Trina and Rotten Crystal Sword. They don’t shine so much in NG, but as you add +’s, they get better.
Idc how much hate it gets, I agree Moonveil is king of Int, it was the weapon that got me through my first play through and I think its amazing, even after its nerf it’s still a top weapon in the game period
Gravitas is good for killing invisible scarabs, revealing ambushes before going through a door, bringing down those annoying birds in Stormveil, or killing enemies above/below you (such as the frenzyflame tower).
I disagree about Rosus Axe. It's not good for pvp or clearing large groups of lesser enemies but it's very good against large enemies and bosses. It can also stagger enemies with just it's regular attack.
I personally love it and with even a decent setup, the Ash fucking smacks bosses really hard. Sure, it can miss but you've just got to play smart with it. Hitting it is incredibly satisfying.
I did watch the whole video. I love Adula's moonblade and use it with the Carian Regal Scepter. I only need another weapon as a supplement from time to time.
You have the Bastard’s Star too low I think. The nebula art is different from the one on the wing of astel. It does take a little getting used to, but once you learn the timing and range of the art it’s devastatingly effective. Its my everyday carry. I will say that having a decent Dex ranking is kinda mando. You should have a decent dex if you are caster anyways.
@maxpower591 Rosus' Axe is fantastic. It hits like a truck if you use the Ash correctly. Plus Summoning The Boys to hit enemies on your weapon just brings me joy.
The crystal swords have the best AR for a str/int hybrid straight sword build, and more AR than heavy (though it goes through two defenses) they do less dps than cold infused straight swords after cold procs, but its possible to proc cold before you use the swords so then crystal becomes the best again in terms of damage with basic attacks. I dual wielded the regular crystal sword and the rotten one together and did insane damage on my playthrough. I also had a longsword and broadsword at +25 but went with the crystal swords. They are really good for PvE and you can get the one crystal sword at the start of the game without fighting anything, very underrated weapon in my opinion.
How fallingstar beast jaw is B? that weapon is S+++ being colossal means you will oneshot or break the defenses of most foes at close range, if they are far you can spam the broken ash of war. Other weapons have good ashes of war, but fallingstar beast jaw one is better because is much more usable and reliable, you can always use it and enemies have no way to avoid damage, some ashes of war only work if you are in the same height, if the enemy is above or below, most of those ashes of war can't harm them, but with this weapon they can't hide from you. With colossal weapons you don't use standard animations, you use them to backstab or ambushes with jump attacks. The other option is baiting enemies to follow you and receive them with fully charged R2 in the face, big weapons are not meant to be used as daggers.
rosus summons is very powerful... I use it on bigger enemies and it always hits all 3 hits. each attack does massive damage. in your clip 1 of the 3 hit and it still did 1240. Trolls Roar knocks down bosses. Even Malenia! lol
I've watched up to you putting Glintstone Kris at C tier and I have to comment! The Glintstone Kris is A tier MINIMUM. At 65 INT, it has great range and one or 2 shots most DLC mobs (no scadutree blessing needed). Incredibly useful in PVE gank fights and an incredibe ranged option for any sorceror. The Glintstone Kris weighs 1.5 units. It can easily occupy 1 of your 3 right hand weapon slots. It completely removes the need to have Glintstone Pebble or Comet as a memorised spell, and it casts Comet at a fraction of the usual FP cost. With 26 mind, I can use the AoW 15-20 times and clear entire hoards of mobs before they reach me. The projectile also goes THROUGH enemies, giving you an incentive to line up your shots. This is all without mentioning that the strong attack follow-up after the AoW does amazing damage and is an excellent gap closer. It's the best secondary weapon a sorceror could want.
Glintstone Kris in C tier? I suppose you haven't upgraded it to +9 or +10. The AR gets up to about 310 (+ another 100 or so AR if you're at the 50 int hybrid build investment breakpoint) which is quite good for daggers, even for elemental infused daggers without status effects. But the real kicker is that Glintstone Dart is stronger than the spell Glintstone Cometshard (even charged) without buffs. It pierces multiple enemies like cometshard and comet do, can hit through some shielding enemies, and easily does 900-1200 damage for 10 fp at 60 int without being charged or buffed. Even after being nerfed, it's still worth using over pretty much every normal Glintstone pebble style projectile spell, especially for hybrid builds (as of patch 1.10).
Wing of astel is absolutely nuts vs big targets. Fire giant took me 3 tries and the first 2 tries I didn't get hit on his first phase at all, it just kills him too fast. The weapon skill is a bit slow for some bosses, but most just run into it if you can get some distance before laying it out.
Running dual katanas like Moonveil and a Magic Uchigatana w/ Gravitas AOW is goated af. Uchi for AOE's and pulling pesky flying enemies down, then Moonveil for slicey magic action. Powerstancing both for insane damage and poise break, and it's fast af. Seriously, the jumping L1/LT powerstance move is lightning fast and powerful. GOATed loadout bar none.
Hahaha if you dont have kris in s tier, you clearly have no idea what you're doing Seriously... wtf. Kris is my TOP DAMAGE WEAPON. literally dropping 2500 per shot. Way more than dark moon, waaay more than moonveil. And not even close
know its an old viedo but the glinstore kris can actuly do ALOT of damage with its weapon art, like the dart dores more damage then my +10 lucia staff with 80 int. And alot of stuff can buff it everything from the magic ring, and the ring that buff weapon arts also buff the damage and also the Charge ring, so I did actuly find it to be very very powerfull if you use the art running a Dex/int build ( 60dex / 80 int ). Just wanted to say what I think about that small dagger :P.-
After 100hrs in this game I’ve just realised there are combos??😂 I’ve been using the moonveil and had no idea you could do an overhead attack 😂. And I swear to god I have no idea how deaths poker works, I watch UA-camrs destroy with it, I try it, I can’t hit anything, no explosions, nuffin mate😂 I am such a noob😂
Kris in C???, do you read, the best ash of war got this weapon?. Do you read description?. Use ash of war and them press strong attack, got unique ash of war. And Roxus axe C... 🤣🤣🤣🤣 men... skeletons dont fail hit in ash of war. if you fail enemy attack, skeletons fail to. Skeletons apear when you hit. Please Read descriptions, and them made tier list.
The scaling for Death Poker is actually misleading. it's one of those 'glorified casting sticks' ppl talk about. The AoW scales entirely with Int, so just put the str/dex in to hold it, and only use the AoW with a full Int build. Thing carried me though the entire game, DLC included
What's your favourite intelligence Weapon?
Moonveil katana with rennalla's staff
Staff of loss.
Helphen/deathbird int weapons
The gravity magic weapons are my favorites particularly the big colossal sword/weapon ones. Fallingstar beastjaw, Ruin's Great Sword, And Radahn's Swords are my favorites though royal greatsword isn't too far behind
Whos gonna tell him the followup on the glintstone kris daggers ash of war is fuckin ok as shit?
7:16 btw what armor combo is that?
I think he forgot that glintstone pebble and dart have a follow up attack after firing the projectile that is really strong
nah it got heavily nerfed
Kris is still kinda good but definitely took a hit
@@poacherthenn yeah it’s harder to hit the follow up attack but it still does good damage
@@poacherthenn even after the nerf it's still insanely good.
Absolutely! I just went to the wing and am wrecking
exactly its just so versatile, use the scav sword w/ frost build up so you have frost/bleed with the great dual moveset, then tons of flexibility with heavy atk and ash
Its easily best int weapon in game!
It easy to stun allmost every boss in the game.
It’s the Elden beast killer. I’ve one shot the final boss every time with it.
yeah he got that one wrong
I'm sorry. I cannot accept anything lower than S tier for Fallingstar beast jaw. I used that as my weapon for ng4, and it made even malenia easy. Can't be anything but S tier. Same with wing of astel.

@@Steamboat2016 what does "AoW" means?
The claymans harpoon is one of the only weapons that can get magic dmg applied to it, even though it already has it.
Oh shit, apply scholar's armament and go to town
yeah he missed that fact - quite an important one :-)
The harpoon and knife should buff clay man sorcery.
Pulling spells and ashes work in pvp against jump attack spammers, or at least it does for me
Also, gravity spells and effects ignore poise entirely, which makes it a good counter to colossal weapon enjoyers
It’s also good for attacking enemies through walls, and groups of weak enemies in awkward positions, like the slugs in the pipes in Lyndell Catacombs.
For any caster that likes a fine mix of melee to spells: TRY the Meteoric Ore Blade. It has the lowest reach but the highest physical damage out of all the katanas. Use your magic to compensate for the lack of reach and it will perform miracles.
Just don’t understand why anyone would use meteoric katana when Moonveil exists and is better in every conceivable way??
@@skipjacks85I use Moonveil because shooting sword beams of any kind is fabulous. That said, there def are better options out there.
This can also be achieved with sleep pots though.
sleep pots have better range. they would always skewer me while I was casting as I had to get to close with the sword
st trina is more of a dex weapon with minor int scaling
Can also be a good general purpose crowd control weapon against regular field mobs.
Except sleep pots require the very rare and non-respawning St. Trina's lilly, where as the Sword of St. Trina does not. So yes the pots have longer range, but you won't cringe as much if you accidently miss a sword swing then you would a miss on a pot throw.
Bullshit,i get about 4 seconds
I really like the Carian Knight Sword, when I started using it, I was confused with its heavy attack. When I realised I could do a block heavy, it made riposting really cool and made fighting those Lions strangely easier.
Its ash of war move goes through walls very well. It is great for those "be wary of" left or right situations.
The Lazuli Glintstone Sword also has the same block heavy as the Carian, and a cheaper, quicker and spammable special move.
the tier list is trash some pretty great weapons were too low while other shitter ones were higher (i mainly account for pvp). i can tell just by the video its his first fromsoft game. im here to see all int weapons tho
Wings of Astel is S tier for me. Fast, high damage and easily staggers enemies.
Stagger as good as Flame of the Redmane?
@@12-OneTwo Like that. But deals way more damage!
@@ALEXANDER6888 2-3 hits to stager a Godfrey?
@@12-OneTwo That i don't know/recall. I don't use it anymore since I am high level and there are better weapons if you have 80 int, dex and faith like me. I currently use the serpent king's sword (with golden vow and flame buffs, you can kill Godfrey with 8 hits or so), deathpoker (for slower bosses and dragon bosses) and wings of astel for normal dragons. I'm kinda overpowered rn, and I'm not even level 400
@@12-OneTwo it staggers the Elden beast like nothing. Actually makes the fight a cakewalk.
Two things:
A good use for Gravitas and Alabaster Lord Pull is to fire a magma spell at your feet and use the ash to pull enemies into the magma.
Bro That was driving me nuts
He missed a lot
You completely missed the second move with glinstone kris when you press R2 it lunges you forward thrusting into the enemy doing more damage than any of the other attacks with the weapon and it has massive range allowing you to cover ground and move towards an enemy really quick.
Great weapon for light builds
and you can charge the pebble to do comet level damage, with fraction of the FP cost
Kris is goated
I feel you undersell the impact of sleep with the St Trina sword. Everybody thinks "Yeah, I won that fight cause my bleed killed the enemy faster!" but nobody bothers to think "Yeah, I won that fight because the enemy wasn't attacking me because of the sleep" which I feel is a bit disappointing, because on some enemies you can just chain sleep them to have them literally never attack you
Sword would be god tier vs the godskin duo lol
That sword is broken in pvp. He definitely doesn’t know wassup. Dual st Trina’s swords is close to unbeatable because of the heavy sleep proc + dual ss damage and move set. It’s insane
@@midnighttoast1550 yeah, his assessment on some of these weapons is downright terrible.
@@ttungstenn4842 It IS God tier against the Godskin Duo. Have a mimic tear set up for applying sleep and let the boss fight feel more balanced.
I read somewhere that crits are enhanced on sleeping enemies
This video would be 100% better without the horrible elevator music in the background.
3:51, you made an error in speaking here. It doesn’t reduce holy damage, it reduces its negation, meaning all holy damage is increased.
@@norzza makes sense, no worries
I understand that the Carian Knight Sword isn't good for a spellblade build, but I love this sword so much that I don't care about that. It has gotten me to Ng+4 and I won't drop it even after Ng+7. Plus, Carian Grandeur is epic.
The death ritual spear deserves better
I mean grups of enemies yes, but think about large bosses being hit by multiple spears every wave
It well works well
Not like s tier tho
I actually like running meteoric ore blade during stormveil or really any area with flying enemies. Gravitas knocks them all down, makes em a lot easier.
Gravitas also staggers enemies that are pulled close and you can chain in the R2 or charged R2 really easily, which deals great damage and great poise damage.
That's what I was thinking , the stagger but you added on to that , good show.
Vastly underestimating the Death's Poker. The lingering AoE from its skill is far more effective than it should be as you can launch it from range and the enemy will beeline towards you directly through it, racking up the damage very quickly.

Me: *EMOTIONAL DAMAGE AGAIN*
Let me tell you why though:
The royal greatsword is op and does a lot of damage along with frostbite which combos perfectly with high damage (Give it an A tier pls) Also I love Blaidd the wolf.
Pulling enemies in might be rather "meh", but Gravitas also knocks flying enemies prone and that can be absolutely invaluable.
depends on your perspective.
Hairy cheese
Laughable to put helpens steeple so low when radahns sword is absolute booty cheeks
After the AOW the helphens steeple has crazy AR
The UA-cam man made a valid point in, why would you use Helphen's Steeple when weapons like Death's Poker have the high damage and frostbite by default?
@@ghoulishgoober3122 bc Helphen’s frostbite is 90, poker is 65, and dark moon is 55, iirc, I don’t use it. Plus the buff got buffed in 1.0.7 to last 60 seconds so pretty easy full-fight uptime. Also… greatswords powerstance beautifully as he mentioned with Radahn, so why not both?

I did a run with the weapon somewhat recently where I was able to handle everything in the game with relative ease.
With a max level of 150, the stats were soemthing like:
40 Vig
30 Mind
26 End
12 Str
12 Dex
50 Int
50 Fai
9 Arc
If you start Confessor, your STR/DEX are exactly where you need them to wield the weapon so you don't have to use any early levels on those stats.
Doing the Glintstone Krys DIRTY, that thing is an artillery round on a regular sorcery build
i think you might just not be good with colossal swords; theyre not inherently bad weapons they just require a different approach to combat and a sigma mindset
I love Death's Poker. It's easy enough to get with enough arrows and the ash of war can carry you for a long time.
That weapon is absolutely good. this list should be completely ignored if anyone is a newby
Yeah the list isn’t the best. Apart from missed things, there’s pretty heavy biases in the list as well
glintstone dart skill got follow up thrust attack if you press heavy attack button after firing the dart, the thrust is longer than glintstone pebble ash of war follow up heavy attack thrust
Sry my guy. I dont agree with so many choises you made. 😆
Mad questionable it’s kinda like he didn’t know about most of the weapons.
Great video and great timing since I’m trying to plan out a weapon focused int build
I’m just curious, do you not know about the follow up of glintstone pebble and dart? Hitting R2/T after casting gives a lunge that does so much damage. I feel like those two weapons should be higher on the list
Wing of estel is best int weapon in game
Imagine thinking that the ashes of war are the only viable things on colossal weapons. Sounds like mid gamer to me
I've been playing as a sorcery build and I've been wielding the moonveil katana all game, it's so fun.
Trina is S tier. Broken in PVP.
Yeah dual st Trina is cancer
You aren't using the skills glintstone pebble or gravatas correctly. Both have true combo followups that do insane damage.
I showed my friend how to get it and made him just test it out ( he was using dual katanas till then ) and I regret it xD
Maah man didn't stop spamming the ability wherever he went.
Slumber is good for duo fights or just wanting a meaty crit
So saint trina is more utility then a actual weapon
So yeah high c or low b
Nice vid, but forgot the much stronger follow up combo on GlintStone pebble with the Lazuli Glintstone Sword. Glintstone + Heavy Attack does a decent thrust that staggers most enemies IMO.
He forgot a lot of things.
The charged heavy attack of the Ruin Greatsword as has a small gravity second hit similar to the gravity chunk item so when you break poise you do massive damage and hit twice.
I made an intelligence build and i put everything into intelligence, i was using the bloodhounds fang for a long time with just enough strenght and dex to wield it and then i suddenly realized how i not only have the moonveil in my inventory but i also have like 70 intelligence and it was a complete game changer! xD almost dubbled my damage output with a few upgrades to the weapon!

how can u not love gravitas?! go behind enemy stab ground AOE damage then drags them toward u and then follow up back stab

Also, the old NPC hiding around the corner trick. Bavoom, swipe, swipe, dead.
10:22 gravitas makes a lot of sense with r2 attack lf this weapon(Ichimonji from Sekiro), it basically makes it 100% hit and this r2 is crazy good.
That's completely fair. I like the weapon flexibility as it's so rare you can put AoW on int scaling weapons.
Clayman harpoon can be infused with flame art and sacred for a int faith build, or bleed for int arcane.
Slumber may not be the best, but it is a really good way to deal with the god skin duo
Gravitas is a decent ash of war mostly for the ability to interrupt animations, it was a big part of my first run with meteoric ore blade
"this weapon art is not pure damage therefore garbage"
The glintstone pebble ash and the glintstone dart ash are really good because of the charging forward attack you do after using them by pressing the heavy attack button. So if you’re on ps4/5 you’d press L2 then R2. Especially in pvp I can easily one shot people or deal most of their health because if you land the pebble/dart, the follow up is guaranteed
Actually dart is not a true combo. Glinstone dart is weaker then pebble in favor of more range. And I actually think with the nerf on pebble it’s not a true combo anymore either I could be wrong tho they definitely nerfed the dmg tho
its buffed in 1.07 patch, but this vídeo man, dont read descriptions of habilities i think.
Glinstone pebble or dart is the high combo break game
Clayman Harpoon is one of the few weapons that can be buffed despite inherently doing split damage too.
Great against late game bosses.
Agree
i'm still here
Gravitas is good for killing invisible scarabs, revealing ambushes before going through a door, bringing down those annoying birds in Stormveil, or killing enemies above/below you (such as the frenzyflame tower).
no. unsubscribe.
@@WildWolfGod right
If you are doing a Int/Faith build, use the Death Poker and the SoNaF. Death Poker's Ash of War scales of both Int and Faith so it becomes a monster
Knowledge above all doesn't negate damage. It reduces negation. Making all parties weaker against magic and holy. You got it wrong.
actually, the hammer of all knowing is amazing. its range and scaling is great, and knowlage above all is amazing. you are wrong.
same with rosus axe! thats amazing in PVE!
@maxpower591 Rosus' Axe is fantastic. It hits like a truck if you use the Ash correctly. Plus Summoning The Boys to hit enemies on your weapon just brings me joy.
sword of st Trina is extremely strong move it up on the list you're just bad
Even Malenia! lol
Horrible list.
Homie forgot rotten crystal spear
Yeah no, unless you actually used these weps I'm not taking you seriously. Moonlit isn't S tier for an example and that s tier sword is C at most.
Starscourge in A tier???
Hahaha if you dont have kris in s tier, you clearly have no idea what you're doing
Seriously...
Just wanted to say what I think about that small dagger :P.-
After 100hrs in this game I’ve just realised there are combos??😂
I’ve been using the moonveil and had no idea you could do an overhead attack 😂.
And I swear to god I have no idea how deaths poker works, I watch UA-camrs destroy with it, I try it, I can’t hit anything, no explosions, nuffin mate😂
I am such a noob😂
At 40 str 42 dex and 20 int Fallingstar Beast Jaw Turns the game into easy mode.
Why Go for so much dex tho?
@@nohddd8574 c scaling dex and strength but 2 handed each point of dex over 40 nabs you 3 damage points
