Really appreciate the content. There seems to be a lot of information on oled monitors all at once. It’s hard to keep track of.
I know! Took forever to compile this in to one hopefully coherent flow of info 😀
Great channel, great delivery of information and very well respected, thanks for all your efforts!!
Many thanks!
This video was very helpful. Thank you!
Well im more impressed that you got all the name's right on all the panels. Well done, not easy i bet did you do many takes.... thumbs up
Thank you for the round up monitor news of the CES.
A lot of effort in making these videos!
You’re welcome. Thanks for leaving a nice comment 😀
thank you guys that was a quick ces cover up upload on the monitors this year, maybe add in highlights on video minute break downs?
Will add timestamps 👍
Great Vid, hope u add sections to be easier
Will do! Didn’t have time yesterday 😀
The Asus WOLED with RGWB pixel array 27", 1440p, 480 HZ is the one I am most looking forward to. If the text clarity issue is solved, I will be an early adopter.
It's gonna be a great monitor for competitive gaming!
as a mildly apathetic gamer, the asus pg27aqdp 1440p @480 hz first and foremost at 8:33
just make sure it's glossy or at least semi-glossy.
thanks a lot for keeping track of every development. i didn't know that pretty much perfect motion clarity is not far away.
i find the Dell IPS Black montiors very exciting and a great alternative to OLED if you're afraid of burn it, but not if they're more expensive than OLEDS !
Excellent information. "Maybe" someday these monitor _Word Salad Names_ will get simplified.
Really hope the ultrawides dont come with an 800r curve for LG. It's great for something like the 45" but for 34" which is what im looking to get it's way too aggressive. A more shallow curve would be perfect to me
If Samsung have finally fixed the gamma curve on their QD-OLEDs I might pick up a 32", but I doubt it. Steam deck OLED have terrible dark shade cut-off, the Alienware QD-OLED had terrible gamma curve too with darks being turned up to hide the rough cut-off. But I know TFTCentral will have the answers when it's finally time to decide. :)
What a fiasco w/ the 480hz 1440p from LG not being glossy. Should be a wake-up call in 2025.
Plus no DP2.1 Good riddance!
@@BigJohnson911soo much dsc
Don't forget to peel the plastic🤭
Wait is it not glossy? Is the Asus one glossy?
@TheTykus i think the dell and asus qd oled are glossy, and asus 480hz is not glossy
I like the sound of the MSI MPG321URX 32″ 4K
You should make videos about portable monitors also
Looking for a 42" OLED. Guessing I will have to just go with the LG C4 TV.
Are there any rumors of new mini led non ultrawide monitors coming out this year? I won't buy oled.
Wow… what an amazing lineup of screens. These new screens are the holy grail of monitors!
evil is in detail as always
The holy grail of monitors...until next year!
@@TechnicalArtistry what is next year?
Excited about almost all of them. Can't afford any of them...
Interesting if one of those 32 inch 4k qd-oled will have 1440p/1080p scaling options as well? The gigabyte version feature is probably more to do with color saturation rather then resolution. I will personally wait for your/rtings/monitors unboxed review of the 1440p 360hz qd-oled.
I'm looking forward to seeing a thorough comparison of the 32 inch WOLED vs QD-OLED. I've already seen a lot of arguing which one is better.
Me too
Can't wait for the Dell 40 inch 5k ultrawide!
We need a Nuremberg Trial for passing a matte monitor off as glossy
Lg will be the equivalent if Hermann goering..excellent but flawed leader 😂
Thank you for this video. Because I still have a monitor from 2013. (the NEC PA302W) it was super expensive and it has for its time an AMAZING image quality, but now I dont want 60hz anymore, I dont want 34ms input lag anymore and OLED + HDR will look better nonetheless.
34ms because your display is 60hz (16.67ms) and has terrible input lag?
@@goblinphreak2132 It has high input lag, yes. Its not a gaming monitor. Its full on image quality.
I'm hoping for 49" 5120 x 2160 at >120 Hz monitor. The U4025QW is close (better than last years U4021QW @60 Hz), but still 40".
1:16These are my dream specs omg 😍😍
I Think if msi 27 2k will be good priced im going to pick this one
I'm very curious about those WOLED 34" Ultrawides.
I believe there is a WOLED panel variant which subpixels are arranged in an RGWB format, which has improved the text rendering.
Yes that applies to the 27” 480Hz and 32” 4k 240Hz dual mode monitors 😀
@@tftcentral Thank you! I wasn't aware that it was both the dual mode WOLED with the same panel and sub pixel layout.
Who will win the match between WOLED and QD OLED?
Advantage seems to be on the hype of the glossy QD OLED but no significative difference has been observed by optimum.
What do you think guys ?
Give me glossy WOLED + DP2.1 + 3 year warranty and I am sold!
Exactly what I am waiting for. Better black levels than qd-oled by far and DP 2.1 because no DSC is objectively better than DSC.
Looking forward to the Gigabyte AORUS MO34WQC2, just waiting on info if its G-Sync Compatible or NVIDIA Certified.
Picture by Picture needs to become a feature because it’s never spoken about. I feel like especially on the 34+ monitors it should be required to have that almost. With actual combinations which may help and not just 2 basic configurations
Just waiting for ZOWIE XL2586X 540Hz monitor ❤
If someone does the work, I would love to know all of the monitors releasing in both Q1/H1 and H2 that have DP2.1 I really hate gigabyte as a company, but that is shaping up to be a great monitor from the looks of it!
This is currently up to date 😀

Kinda want a 27" 4k OLED, or a an 34" 4K OLED Ultrawide monitor
I have the predator x35 for 3 years and i would like to change it for the Next Asus pg39.
any news on the AOC PD49 ?
I love your webpage, i have been following you for more then 10 years i think 😊 do you think we will see a cable that will support 8k 360hz uncompressed sometime? 😅
Thanks for the support! Eventually I guess we’d see a cable like that, but the max currently being produced and developed with be those for DP 2.1 at 80Gbps Bandwidth
Asus with dual mode is 32 inch 4k is really attractive. Let’s see how it perform at 1080p 480hz
We went from having no options ten years ago in the form of niche prototypes, to a few options a year ago, and now a dozen+ options. It’s nice to finally have choice.
its not a "choice" per se. All these monitors are based on a literally few similar panels, from both samsung and Lg.
And the options are still bad. No glossy screen, no g-sync, bad gamma, etc
The HP Omen transcend is looking like the best one so far in terms of specs.
If it supports dp 2.1 that is.
So does the Gigabyte.
no so far Gigabyte is #1. HP only said DP 2.1 which there is 4 versions of
And as I said in the video, their latest official press release does not mention it at all!
I really wonder that what were acer designers thinking while desiging the predator x34 v3
What time and retailers will the new Alienware OLED monitors be available with on 1/11?
I'm still stuck with my TN panel, because I can't decide which monitor to buy, because:
- IPS is off the table, because I can't stand the haziness and IPS glow.
- Most VA is off the table, because I can't stand the curve
- OLEDs are off the table - for now - because I play lots of games like X-COM2 with static UI elements.
Maybe I just have to accept that I have to buy 2 monitors. (1 for office like work and static games and 1 for everything else)
The AOC Q27G3XMN looks interesting - flat VA miniLED
@tszyn indeed. Review here tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/aoc-q27g3xmn
My LG 27 w-oled from 2023s return deadline is in 3 days and I did get it on sale a couple months ago. I enjoy the blacks and just the oled in general but I think I'd like qd oled in a 27 instead because of glossy finish. Not sure if to return and take the risk on Alienware 27 tomorrow
Act fast!
Thank you, nice and clear review. So sad that I just get ROG PG27AQDM 2K 240HZ and now they releasing new model with 480HZ.
Да, спецификации выглядят впечатляюще, но в каких играх и на какой связке видеокарта+проц ты собираешься получить >480фпс в разрешении 1440р?
There is not a big improvement either since it is the same matte panel only with more hertz and the text is somewhat improved as they say
@@x-ray8047 На MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Suprim + I9-14900K(F). Уже нужно брать OLED 4K 240 HZ под эту сборку.
4K is so 2023. Should be 6K+, 240hz minimum, ultra-wide, glossy, OLED like. ACER might have the best with that 57". Thanks for the reviews!
Do you speculate that the new WOLED panel will have less text fringing with RGWB than the new QD-OLED panels?
I wouldn’t like to speculate on that until we’ve had chance to compare them 😀
Is there any seamless monitor at least on the left right side?
What about the MSI mini-LED 1440p 500hz?
Man, I just wanted a good 34" (3440x1440) IPS with high refresh rate. :(
And no, I don't want OLED because I'm going to use the monitor during the day for work with a lot of static content and playing at night. Anyways, such a great video and monitors.
Gigabyte Aorus FO32U2P is the monitor im most interested in
... do we know if it has a glossy finish too?
It should have standard QDOLED semi glossy finish unless Gigabyte add something on top, which I really doubt
Kinda disappointed no odyssey g8 34inch . Was hoping for an upgraded version from the v1 and it’s small but annoying issues .
I wish someone would make a 6880x2880 monitor, 20 Megapixels is close to the same bandwidth as the Duel 4K resolution of the Neo G9, but 21:9 "7K" would fit videogames a lot better than 32:9 8K.
Asus ROG Swift PG27AQDP sounds enticing!
Any word on the brightness for the lg display's 10% window
AOC 2.1dp I believe.
Really appreciate you taking the time to do this!
I'm curious, in your opinion, what do you think will be the best 27 inch OLED, flat panel, glossy, 240hz or higher monitor? Does this even exist?
The closest would be the couple of 27” 360Hz QDOLED monitors covered from Dell and MSI, both are flat and both feature the normal semi glossy screen coating. Avoid the Samsung G6 as that has added matte coating (if you want glossy that is)
@@tftcentral Thank you again for the fast response! I meant to also ask if there will be a 4K option in the 27 inch monitors?
At some point but none announced yet.
@@tftcentral Thank you!
@@tftcentral and Gigabyte?
PG32UCDM should be glossy right?
Standard QDOLED semi glossy coating yes
Asus is making it really hard to mount things like the Tobii eye tracker under your monitor. This is probably a pretty small segment of market but I don't really like where they are placing the controls / logo for that reason.
Absolutely hate the design language of ASUS products, so cringe inducing - looks like something an edgy 14 year old would come up with and cheapens the entire product.
The "chin" on their monitors with that horrid logo is truly ugly.
are any dp 2.1 (which according to the video isn't even confirmed) wo/qd oled monitors coming out this year, except the one from hp? not a big fan of hp, but might consider getting one. i'm wondering if they are using the newest samsung panel?
The Gigabyte 32” is the only one specifically confirmed and covered in the video. The HP is a lose rumour at the moment as far as we are concerned. Too vague and unconfirmed
Seems a lot of media missed the MSI 27 inch 1440p 500 HZ (!) mini led. Model name: MPG 272QPX Mini led.
It says it got Rapid IPS and 0.5 ms GTG.
You got any more info?
Looking in to it 👍
I'm very interested in these new OLED 39" UW models, wondering about pixel density at 3440x1440 tho...will it still be good enough ?
Nope. To low
So... when are these monitors coming out exactly? Asus has yet to announce a release date for the QD-OLED 4K 240hz monitor. We only know it's apparently Q1. But knowing Asus, they might delay it.
so no mini LED or regular LCD 16:9 new monitors?
Not announced at CES that we’ve seen
If Gigabyte is supporting UHBR20 that could be really good news for consumers if it means AMD is actually going to attempt to support the full capabilities of DP2.1.
Supposedly the maximum length of a copper cable transmitting UHBR20 is three feet and basically no-one would be able to use it even if a card with this spec did appear, but we could still try things like optical cables.
Extender?
@@nttinvis The signal itself degrades, 80Gbps is too much data for a regular copper display cable to carry.
When VESA announced the spec for DP2.1 it was stated that UHBR20 was only intended to be used internally for systems with an integrated display.
In theory someone needs to make a "Gaming All In One" system with the CPU/GPU inside the monitor housing to properly make use of UHBR20.
@@nttinvis
In theory it wouldn't be difficult for monitor manufacturers to include a Micro ATX mount on the back of the monitor and let people mount their own compact gaming PC with the GPU less than a foot away from the display connection, but that would need A LOT of collaboration from PC parts manufacturers to actually convince the general PC building public this is a good idea.
@@budthecyborg4575 mmm ok
Keeping an eye on the upcoming 39" ultrawide WOLEDs
It’s matte …
@@rathadam619 Good for me
39” and 3440x1440 is not great. Terrible ppi
@@heatnup6899 completely wrong , you have never seen it in real life buddy, quality looks great , not a noticeable difference, just a bunch of nerds arguing over specs
@@user-ll4wu3kb2m its 95.62 ppi. You haven’t seen 3440x1440 on a screen of that size. 34” 3440x1440 is good ppi but 38” and up should be 3840x1600 at least
What's with the ridiculously aggressive curvature on the 34" ultrawides. I hate it 😢
This eliminates all my oled options. 😢
Really hope that LG 27GS95QE has a glossy screen. Otherwise...what's the point of it when every other spec looks identical to the existing one.
If it does, that's an insta-buy for me. Everything I need.
That’s a possibility as we know there’s a panel in plan like that in that size and spec. Might just be the same matte panel though with increased brightness of 1300 nits. Time will tell
🙏@@tftcentral
All of these monitors seem to be FreeSync / G-Sync Compatible. Do you think native G-Sync is still relevant? I would pay a little extra for that feature.
nvidia charges $200 for gsync
not sure if its worth waiting for the LG panel
I think I’ll be waiting, I will then buy an lg panel and a QD oled samsung and test before picking one and sending it back
The Dell U4025QW is so close to qualifying as an ideal side monitor but I need it to actually be 5120x2880 to be able to play a full 1440p video while in portrait orientation.
(Right now I use a 4K monitor in portrait to be able to watch video while reading the comments, usually videos are left at 1080p, but with a 5K monitor I could upgrade videos to the next higher common resolution.)
I have a 5k monitor. I just want a higher Refresh-Rate. But seems like I'll have to wait another year or 2...
@@xpodx The new Dell monitor is 120hz, but when it's competing with other LCD 4K120hz monitors that cost THREE TIMES less, by the time the U4025QW is sold for anything under $1K it's going to be totally obsolete.
@budthecyborg4575 right. Yea little bummed out of all the monitors. All 4k or less, and the ones that are higher are to wide and have low ppi compared to 8k 32"
@@xpodx What I really want right now is a quad-Ultrawide at 6880x2880, now that would be a sweet monitor (and it's not unrealistic, 20 megapixels is only 3.5MP more than the Dual 4K panel Samsung Neo G9).
Really I would buy the Neo G9 but 32:9 is an absolutely horrible aspect ratio.
Just give me that pixel count in anything that looks more like a normal monitor.
Is the new gsync mode an actual hardware update? If so is there going to be a 32 inch 4K OLED monitor with the new gsync hardware?
I know right, all that talking about OLED's and not a word about this crucial feature. No G-Sync hardware module = is not "End Game" , id rather pay 300 extra and have it for some games where screen tearing is big issue. Vsync is garbage 🤢
Not had any official confirmation on that or if it’s just an added updated feature to the current module
@@Goorood 100%👍
In the article about the MSI MPG321URX you write it's second-gen QD-OLED. MSI states "next-gen" and as far as I understand it should be the upcoming Samsung panel, so 3rd gen indeed. Is this just a typo?
Yes it was from before we had details of third gen. Now updated 👍

the bigger news is song getting out of oled instead going for mini led tech
now the question i have is what are the big differences between the 27" 1440p 360hz monitors?

Nothing about the LG 27GR95UM? I've been waiting for a solid 27" 4K/160hz MiniLED option. The other monitors in this segment all come with their nuisances that tend to not be a problem on LG displays. 1500 local dimming zones, while nowhere near OLED, should still be far better than the other monitors in this range with 500 zones.

Any news on a competitor to Samsung’s 57”?
Just the Acer Z57 covered in the video so far
I am so disappointed that mini led is getting abandoned. The only things that needed to be improved is haloing and response times (for me). You can’t beat the brightness of a good FALD panel.
odyssey neo g9 57'' is a nice contender I have one and plan on keeping it but I will be grabbing one of these 4k 32'' 240hz oleds I think I will be patient cause I wanna see what 480hz on oled is like also so will wait out for the dual mode monitor
It’s far from being abandoned and I’d expect that to be the main development area for LCD monitors this year. It’s just CES showcases and announcements were heavily around OLED this year, but you can see plenty of mini led LCDs being released, some at very competitive prices.
@@tftcentral in all honesty, how much of an upgrade would you say this 32” ROG swift QD OLED will be compared to the PG27Uq. I play mostly immersive style games. I’m more into the looks and HDR than practically all other aspects. I also have a 4090 to push the frames.
@LexLutha a lot of the performance will be quite similar I would expect but the jump up to a larger screen size and a higher pixel density with 4k would give you a nice boost in image quality I think.
@@tftcentral I’m definitely going to give it a try. I am dying for a 32” 4K screen. The UQX just wasn’t the one.
I keep an eye on 1440p ultrawides myself. So far I haven't seen a reason to take 60hz 4k over 120hz at 1440p for the short distance I sit from my monitor... Though maybe I am wrong? I play almost exclusively single player games and they are generally AA or indie... The only AAA I can think of that I plan to play is BG3. The industry needs more of the warranties like Alienware offers.
That burn in warranty is a big reason I'm going alienware.

Thats why its more practical to go 1440p for high framerates not every game will have good upscaling support
Sad no higher resolution gaming monitors. Want hither then 4k.
Is the tcl 57 ultra wide a thing? Seen nothing on if tcl csot will actually sell their versions of the panels they're making
They’re just a panel manufacturer. That’s the panel adopted in screens like the Samsung G95NC 😀
4:50 SO FAR the best overall 4K option is MSI:
1. glossy
2. no stupid curvature
3. calm design with nice stand
4. oled panel care and control software.
5. reasonable price (on sale could be less that $1k)
The ONLY downside its NOT Dell: if you are in USA its much more convenient to own Dell than anything else. All other brands you have to go through the HOOPS to RMA.
The most disapointing is 5K 40" Dell:
1. terible IPS panel. (Hello, McFly, its 2024!)
2. prohibitive price.
What do you think? would it make sense to pair the AW3225QF and the AW3423DWF.
Since they are both curved and about the same length. If I were to pair a flat and a curved screen above each other I think it would cause some eye discomfort when switching.
The 32” will be much taller and the 34” will be much wider. They won’t look good alongside each other
@@heatnup6899 what about above? That was the ask. I don’t think side by side it would look good
@@chrisunlmtdI think stacking monitors is horrible. I’ve done it before and it strained my neck and I ended up just using my bottom monitor only.
@@heatnup6899 if that’s the case, then it would probably make sense to sell my 34 and have a verticle (portrait) 27 inch as a secondary on the side I’ll see what’s best when it gets there
No 7680x4320 monitors announced is blasphemy
