Wow. This video is brilliant, so informative. I was looking for months about 5120x2160 monitors and new 4k 240hz oleds, now it’s much clear what is and will be available on the market after your generation and samsung/lg breakdown. Nobody explains it better. Thanks a lot, liked and subscribed.
@@hungz1241_axa your not right. RGB in all cases better than wrgb. Regular 27inch Monitor better for overall work and competitive games. TV only if you watch movies in competitive games you are going to be killed easily
Thanks for the informative video. You should ask LG why they don't take more seriously what most people are asking: a well executed GLOSSY coating. I mean one that's better than Samsung option with raised blacks. LG will lose LOT of OLEDs aficionados this year just due their reluctance to offer a glossy option. The Dual-Hz Oled + Glossy would have been the KILLER monitor for 2024, what a pity...
The recent emphasis on colour volume hasn't done them any favours. Samsung's TVs have matched LG's luminance increases up to 3000nit peak, if they'd brought any of that to monitors I think it would be a trouncing.
Making noise about it gets attention too. Corporations are very aware of the mood of the market and what consumers think online. I buy LG TVs (ironically the best glossy coating on any mass market display), but I cannot ever consider an LG OLED monitor, maybe it sounds like hyperbole but I think their matte coating is so bad it makes the screen unusable to me, I wouldn't dream of spending money on one for that reason alone. Awful.
Exactly this. I've been wondering whether LG or ASUS could still switch to a glossy finish instead of matte on their dual-hz models. Usually, those who seek OLED displays typically prioritize the visual experience, so their decision to apply a matte coating seems incredibly confusing and counterintuitive to me. Also, OLED screens still struggle with brightness levels in well-lit environments, making the matte coating pretty much useless.
1080p 480 htz OLED monitor at 24 inches seems like a no brainer for the high end competitive market, but maybe that market is not big enough to warrant the investment for OLED panel makers.
27" 1440p 480hz is better even for competitive. It is too difficult to see targets at long ranges without 1440p and the monitor size doesn't matter as long as you move the monitor far enough away that it is functionally a 24" monitor in your field of view.
That's the same as the asus QD oled, expensive, but expected for the technology and the fact that it has more features than other manufacturers @@techieg33k

Currently the LG OLED panels seems more tempting for me, mostly because of the sub-pixel structure. It would be nice if the Samsung QD-OLED panels could further refine the sub-pixel structure as well in upcoming generations, making them a bit more "traditional" (getting rid of that triangle shape for text clarity). Pure RGB OLED panels from LG looks promising as well, but I still hope for major improvements when it comes to brightness on OLED panels, as well as a 3 year burn-in warranty maybe becomes a minimum for OLED panels in general. Currently I look at the OLED technology of more a transitional technology before MicroLED and/or QDEL appears at consumer prices & sizes. MicroLED and QDEL could be the OLED & LCD killers, as long as the current OLED & LCD technologies doesn't gets major improvements that can make them compete with those upcoming technologies. For OLED, the brightness has to get way higher, as well as the lifetime for the organic materials in the sub-pixels improves in a such way that that getting any kind of burn-in, even with office/desktop/static content use, would seem practical impossible. For LCD, I suppose you would have to give each pixel its own backlight (if that happens, doesn't that mean that the MicroLED technologi is ready?).
Yeah I bought the MSI 360Hz 1440P panel and love it, but will probably return it before the window is up and get the LG 27" just for the RGWB layout. Text IS acceptable on the QD panels, but there is barely visible doublevision effect from fringing. I use it all day everyday for work (text) and half the night for gaming. Works fine and it's a tough call. Colors will be more washed out on the LG panels due to the white pixel. Most of those will have LG's matte coating too which can't be anything but a downgrade. It's a tough choice.. smart thing to do is wait for reviews on both, but it was hard to get ahold of this panel and anyone who goes QD is not 'making a mistake''.
45" or 39" with 5120x2160, 240hz , oled, where is the preorder button ?!?! i'd buy one right now even if it is 2000€. btw thanks for the videos, can't find any other channel to give simply and clear information about upcoming monitors.
I really want to see the size difference between the 39" UW and the 38" UW. I have the 38 and I know its more like a 21:10 ratio and if the 39" is a more traditional 21:9 I think it will actually be shorter vertically. Thats why I am aiming for a 45" UW because I want a bigger picture size in that respect. Also, since LG is doing the whole dual resolution thing, if the make the 45" UW dual resolution (2560x1440 @ 480hz) it will be the perfect monitor for me, I really hope they do!
Are the various 27" Mini-LED models announced in 2022 (which I think were using the LG Display M270WR8-SSE1 panel) ever going to materialise, or were they all just vapourware?
I wish things were moving faster with all this, annoying to not get 27" 4K until late 2025 or early 2026. Makes me wonder if we'll even see 27" 5120x2880 before the end of the decade... Real shame to not have good 200% scale displays anywhere on the horizon. Also worried we won't see near-full color gamut until the distant future. Crazy that these specs that have existed for many years now are still so far from being met.
After trying the Alienware and sending it back due to firmware issues, missing features like audio out, and not really being a fan of the curve, I can't really say that I'm too eager to get another 32" 4k 240hz variant. Turns out I REALLY like the 42" size of my C2 at 4 feet distance its perfect and great for PC, consoles, and movies. I'd instantly move to a 4k 240hz 42" variant especially at 1300 nits. RGB subpixel structure OLED would be great but if they release a 42 240hz panel with the RGWB pixel layout I would upgrade for sure.
I'm currently using the 360hz Qd-oled and love it, But I did return my first unit due to it being much dimmer than I expected. I gave it another shot and can say it's "bright enough" but does leave me wanting and HDR doesn't really help that. If they can update it to reach a little over 300 nits or just let it peak higher with some abl, I would be happy. It's almost endgame, just needs a little boost in the brightness to appreciate its other quality's.
QD OLED 34” you mean? There’s one gigabyte model announced using that panel but I expect others will be announced soon. Look out for the 240Hz refresh rate and the subtle (not 800R) curvature
Awesome update. Keep it regular on Quarter basis, please. Also add the separate thread for IPS with dimming zones, dynamic refresh rates, etc. Also speedup somehow the standard RGB oled panels development in LG or Samsung to get ideal 27 4K 240/360hz (over dp2.1 or hdmi 48Gb) monitor without ABL, Shimming or other strange OLED surprises for the normal productivity work. Consider the IPS panel devs with full pixel-to-pixel backlight or double OLED layers as the next step to the ideal monitor. Talk with LG and Samsung and make some posts that you are frustrated that they don't use this opportunities. Also remind them that Color Gamut not updated too long and BT.2020 100% volume coverage still waiting for them.
Samsung Display no longer make any LCD panels. They stopped that a couple of years back. Samsung Electronics still make some lcd monitors though using other manufacturers panels nowadays
My predictions for the OLED monitor market going forward are as thus: VRR gamma flicker will continue to mar an otherwise near perfect tech; the companies will continue to ignore the issue and the media ( including TFT Central) will continue to do the panel makers a favor by never addressing it in any of their reviews and conveniently sweeping this glaring issue under the rug. Any info to the contrary is welcome, however. And of course you would have my apologies and gratitude in advance.
I'm very interested in that True RGB OLED from LG. I heard rumors that might make its way to their TVs in the next year or two if they switch to phosphorus for the blue subpixel. Pretty exciting that'll make its way to the monitors as well, I wonder how it will compare to QD-OLED.
Where is the 24" at? I don't care if its 1080p. I can't really use a bigger monitor so they are missing the mark with larger screens for me. A good screen at that size costs $400-$500. Don't see how that is not "cost effective". Yes I watched the video and you said it but I still wanted to say it.
LG's 42" TVs can run at 1600p ultrawide, which comes to 40" of screen. On top of that you also have the option to run it at the whole 2160p for maximum real estate, thus having best of both worlds.
Last week I picked up a MSI MEG 342C, really happy with the monitor, and your simple tweaks made the monitor even better :) I have allways been holding back when it comes to screen size, so for me 27" have been the sweet spot, but after upgrading to 34" and been using that for my simrig, I also wanted 34" for daily driver also. And the biggest pluss was that my retail store had a great offer on them so I paid 1050$. In my country the MEG 342C goes for 1500$. I have for a long time pushed MSI for answers about msi meg 271q mini led they launched at CES 2022. No info on when that monitor will hit the market.

I think I am going to wait for a better resolution flat screen with at least 1300 nits. I didn't like that the LG monitor listed above left text grainy.
yes indeed, working on it right now. It will be a written review on our main site for this one, mainly because there's a few things we will want to test and add in later and that's a lot easier when it's in that format :)
Was really leaning towards the new 1440p 360hz QD OLED, before looking at what LG was going to be offering. What do you guys think about waiting for the new LG 480hz 2k monitors? It would have to be based on price for me, but im not sure I can wait that long for them to be released
That is my dream monitor like gen3 with 5120x2160 resolution and 34 or 39 inch option more then 180+ refresh rate, 1ms respons time or lower and HDR1000 or more. If it make it dual mode refresh rate and flexable is to good to be true. Unfortunately, OLED monitors still do not inspire me with confidence in their life durability.
Feels like all I've been doing is waiting for time to progress when it comes to monitors. Waited a decade for a 16:10 120Hz monitor. Never existed. Moved to ultrawide (PB298Q -> 34GK950F), waited for a 21:10 panel. Never existed. Ignored, and still ignoring, HDR. Now waiting for OLED to not be awful when it comes to text rendering.. also in ultrawide, and no bigger than 34" (impractical at a desk). Still waiting. That Aorus monitor is only 8bit; my current LG is 10bit. Why downgrade? The Asus has a 800R curve, extreme compared to 1800R (but 10bit panel). I feel like it'd be extremely annoying. So disappointed with the industry, still, after all these years...
If anyone can find out if the MSI MAG 341CQP is using a 3rd gen panel or 2nd gen panel that'd be excellent. An MSI rep said it was using 3rd gen but that sounds fishy given the lack of features along with having a very different resolution and refresh rate compared to 3rd gen monitors.
It’s still a 175Hz refresh rate, so that’s the original gen 1 panel from Samsungs point of view. They’re reusing the panel they already have in stock from previous models but have updated the rest of the product spec from their side. Still a gen 1 panel. It might be MSI’s second or third generation of making 34” models, but the panel inside remains the same
@MrEmiroglu53 I expect they are using the term “next gen” to refer to their latest added tech like heatsink and graphene panel which wasn’t featured in their earlier 34” models. And OLED care 2.0 etc
Your channel is a big help. I'm hoping and waiting to see more burn in mitigation tech in 2025 or 26 at least 2x better than current before dropping huge investment.
Looks like LG is making some really big (and necessary) upgrades this year. Both Samsung and LG are increasing pixel density and refresh rates, but that's where the improvements stop for Samsung. LG is improving brightness by 30%, subpixel layout, and screen coating on top of that. Still worried about their color saturation though.
my concern too, color saturation. That's a big deal. I bought the MSI 360Hz 27" QD-OLED and it's great, but there's a very slight doublevision appearance for text fringing. Given the prices on these, I'll probably return it and wait for the LG 27" 1440P panel with RGWB layout. I'm still not feeling 100% on the idea, but I do think QD OLED is superior, just maybe not for desktop use. TV I'm looking at the S90C 55".
@@DaddySizeIt I hope you like it. I had the PG27AQDM (last year's ASUS WOLED flagship) but returned it due to pretty bad text fringing and really bad SDR color saturation. Was amazing for HDR gaming and I really miss the buttery smooth response times, but the desktop experience was worse than my 8-year-old LCD and I decided $900 was too much for that sort of compromise. It felt more like a cool tech demo for AAA games than an actual everyday usable product. I hope the RGWB layout and better brightness makes your experience better than mine was. Personally, I'm gonna hold off until the RTX 50 series cards come out so I can have something that pushes a lot of 4k frames and then figure out whichever 4k monitor is best at that point. Sadly using a TV as a monitor isn't an option for me since I wouldn't be able to sit far enough back to use one.
@@ClearAlera that's exactly how I feel about it. I wouldn't say QD-OLED is "tech demo" grade though. Better than that. I do feel for the near $900 I paid for this with tax, I'm not completely happy. It's close though. LGs pixel layout on the panel you had is very weird. I feel like RGWB > QD > RWBG for desktop monitors. Yes my QD panel is not as crisp as the LCDs I have next to it for text. It's acceptable, but that slight doublevision effect is always there. I actually think the LG 27GP850-B is really hard to beat. The major gains in response time are at 120Hz anyway, and I highly doubt the pixel response makes any difference for hitting shots with that panel vs OLED. It's going to be hard to not purchase one of those while I wait for the LG RGWB panels. I would buy the 27GP850-B for $250 or so. But I refuse to spend over that on anything that isn't OLED at this point. Say $400, that money is best saved towards OLED at this point.
Thank you for the updates. I really appreciate it. Maybe you can clear up a question regarding HDR on the MSI 271QRX/321URX. Can you confirm that HDR works correctly and uses the appropriate gamut (i guess rec2020) when viewing HDR content when its NOT set to sRGB. So for example when i set it to Pro Mode: DisplayP3. Because im afraid it still bugged on other settings and not only the sRGB mode. Did you check that out and measured it ? Also i read that few people have more issues when using VRR via HDMI than with DP. Are there differences between these two inputs that could be the reason?
We are planning some further testing of the modes and HDR on the 321URX so keep an eye on the pinned comment against that video soon. I expect it using the P3 mode in SDR (slightly reduced colour space compared with native) would result in that same emulation in HDR mode. Although a lot of content in HDR is in P3 so that’s not going to be too bad. You’d prob need to use one of the none emulation modes to deliver you full panel gamut in HDR (and SDR)
It looks like the 31.5in 4k WOLED panel with the new sub pixel layout (LG 32GS95UE) was released earlier than expected. Do you think the 45in 5K2K WOLED with the new sub pixel layout that’s set for production in December could be due a little sooner as well?
That model was available in very limited stock and only in certain regions, with wider mass production of the panel now ongoing. Other monitors using that panel are still not launched yet. Could see the same thing with the other panels although no display manuf is yet to announce a monitor using it. If it was to appear early it would likely be in an LG Electronics monitor again
Timeline is outdated. The 31,5" 240/480 Hz is already out there, so the production start isn't going to be may/june. And apparently LG stated already during CES that 27" 480 Hz is realsing H1, june being mentioned.
Well some things have changed but the LG 32GS95QE it not properly released yet or shipping, and when it is, I’d expect very limited initial volumes to be available for a few months. So far that also seems to be limited to the USA, with no sign of pre orders or info for any other region yet that we’ve seen. It’s good though that LG Electronics have been able to develop that nice and early though thanks to their affiliation with the panel manufacturer, to have it available around the time of panel mass production starting. Other manufacturers aren’t as lucky though and their timelines will be later in the year still If LG mentioned June for the 480Hz 27” panel, then that will have been LG.Display, as LG Electronics don’t have any monitor announced with that panel yet. so their talk of June is likely for panel production, aligned with our dates here. The only monitor announced so far using that panel is from Asus, and their expectations are still for monitor release in Q3 they’ve told us
Maybe a strange question: But why do these Oled Monitors have 26.5 inch screens instead of full 27 inches? I plan to use an Oled Monitor as my main next to my older 27 inch LCD and my inner monk is rebelling because it is not the same size :D
Really curious when we'll see pixel densities in the >200 range. Would love to see some OLED options that can be used comfortably with 2x integer scaling.
27 inch is tiny. LG C3 was the best purchase I've ever made in computing. But I understand the desire for more than 120hz. Hopefully they'll do a 42 inch or something larger than 32 with the new refresh rates.
I have preferred QD oled however, with the added brightness, subpixel change, and new dual mode feature I dont see how I can pick QD oled. Especially with QD now seemingly going matte and the woled going glossy... I guess I have like 2 years to think about it but I am very torn because 4k 240 with an option to go 1080 480hz is kind of the best of both worlds and this is my leading choice but likewise a 34" 240 ultrawide thats 5120x2160 also is a dream monitor, when we can get the ultrawide with a dual mode for higher refresh its over.
is it worth waiting for 34" gen2.5 or difference with gen1 would be marginal and more theoretical? And does it /how much make sense to overpay for those gen2.5 improvements?
Very useful information. I am thinking about upgrading my monitor. However, it looks like the best option is to wait for the next generation of OLEDs because I don't want to be stuck with an inferior panel. It always seems like the next best thing is just around the corner. On a related topic, I am afraid that monitor producers will try to sell outdated panels by rebranding them. Also, maybe prices are not going down because manufacturors don't want to mass produce panels which will become outdated very soon...
Fantastic job! It requires some dedication to go through that marketing bs and clarify the stuff this well in a 15min video. Some manufactures don't even clearly point out weather their panel is woled or qdoled not to mention the generations. For me I am mostly looking forward to that Samsung gen "2.5" meaning the next generation 34" ultrawide. Sadly that launch seems to have the least amount of information floating around. Hope its not due to far release date and more because of not so interesting re-release. Anyways would like to hear any info of that as soon as there is some.
Great as always. Thx a lot for this competent and friendly video. I'm focusing on Alienware AW3225QF on Black Friday. But Maybe I'll wait for LG's true RGB devices. But 2 years... Anyway, enjoying my Inzone M9 and LG 65" C1. The only concern is Burn In, as I use the monitor for office work too.
I've recently moved into a much smaller living space and my old LG 32GK650F, which I'm already wanting to replace due to the SLOW VA Panel is now also taking up too much space on my desk. Given that I think I'm aiming at one of the 27" panels. Either Samsung Gen3 or LG Gen2.5. It's not a LOT smaller than a 32", but I think it'll be enough of a change to bring the clutter down a bit.
Thank you for the information, really helps ! Hopefully LG doenst shoot themselves with a horrible matte coating. Every thing else is i desire is present, especially the 38-39" size ! But if there is a matte coating , i will be very careful to see and judge for myself if it a deal breaker or not .
Hi patreon supporter here. Keep up the good work! One quick question. I've noticed that none of the recently announced 32in 4K OLED Flat panels either WOLED or QD-OLED have a Gsync module included. (Its obviously not impossible, because Alienware/Dell's AW3423DW QD-OLED ultra-wide does include it, but that may be the only one). Setting aside the cost of incorporating the module and license, what are the other blockers for ASUS in particular in not going that route with either of their 32in 4K 240z OLED options? Thermals? Connectivity? Diminishing returns? Thanks!
Thanks for supporting us on Patreon! It’s all of those things really that you mentioned. I think the module needs a decent update to included modern connectivity and then it could become more useful again, especially if it could support features like BFI nicely!
While I like the idea of a true-RGB layout, I don't see how LG can hit the brightness levels of WRGB or QD-OLEDs. It doesn't seem like they're getting a 480Hz option either. When you combine that with the prevailing opinion that text-clarity issues being a non-factor on the latest OLEDs, I don't feel particularly excited about the 2025 panels. What I'd like to see most is vastly improved longevity and an interface that can do true 10-bit 4k 480 without DSC. Even UHBR20 can only manage a measly 267Hz and I haven't seen any standards being proposed that go beyond it. Both VESA and HDMI consortium have been caught napping a little bit by these fast panels.
Is there any reason to wait for DP 2.1 monitors and GPU's? I was all excited for it (triple the bandwidth blah blah), but I read that 99% of gamers won't notice any difference because DP 1.4 with DSC is so good. So will people that get the 4k 240hz (DP 1.4) oled's this year be happy with their monitors for a long time? Or will they have buyer's remorse when DP 2.1 monitors/GPU's come out next year?
Can someone just for the love of God release a 40" 5k2k miniled panel with 144hz or greater for the crowd that actually has to use their computer for work and want to game at night.... obvious hole in the market for a good middle ground productivity and gaming monitor. OLED isn't it for everyone.

@tftcentral yea I've been looking at it. Just can't bring myself to spend that on an IPS panel. It seems like they know the tech isnt worth that but professionals dont have any other good option on the market so lets rake them over the coals. If samsung took their 57" neo miniled panel and sized it down keeping 4k resolution I'd be all over it. The 57" is just to wide for all day use my neck would hurt after a full day ended up selling it. I mean I get OLED is all the rage but until burn in is fully resolved some how there's this crowd of professionals that just cant utilize them without always worrying about it. Even if samsung does a 45"/49" 2k mini panel that would be fine as well I guess.
Update lacks information about BFI (Black frame insertion). Which model will support it. thanks to bfi the gpu only needs to generate 120 fps and you feel that it is 240 fps or more. Native 240fps is overkill for gpu in AAA games
None of these panels are expected to feature native BFI support. If it is to be featured on forthcoming monitors it would need to be done on the scaler side like Asus have done. Although right now that’s very limited in operation and capabilities, but better than nothing
@@denvernaicker8250because 32 inches is objectively the better and more immerse experience, whether you are a casual gamer, esport gamer, watch videos or use it for color correction. In my opinion the sweet spot will be around 35 inches but 32 is a huge improvement over 27.

@PD-ws4td very hard to know at this stage. It wasn’t listed as supporting DFR, but things can change. The text clarity is already very good on the new layout and 4K density so I wouldn’t wait if you’re after a new screen now

Exactly this. I've been wondering whether LG or ASUS could still switch to a glossy finish instead of matte on their dual-hz models.
LG's 2025 with the RGB layout is the most exciting for me, but it's so far off.
1600p 38" UltraWide is a dream, gosu resolution and aspect. So comfy to use at 100% font scaling and easy to drive high FPS on.
I have the MSI MPG321URX. It's the nicest monitor I have ever used.
Are the various 27" Mini-LED models announced in 2022 (which I think were using the LG Display M270WR8-SSE1 panel) ever going to materialise, or were they all just vapourware?
LG 45' will be awesome, but I hope they make a not curved version!
Love to see HP Omen Transcend 32 - 240Hz and 4K in a 32-inch OLED gaming monitor review. DP 2.1 & HDMI 2.1?
42" 4k 240hz oled please. Using CX for almost 2 years and love it. 42" is perfect size for me.
27 inch glossy coating option?!
The 45 inch 4K WOLED from LG would be my go to for sure. Looking forward to seeing if it lives up to my expectations. :)
Thanks, in particular the 38" 1600p shoutout. I am one of those who likes that and am looking to get a new gen (QD)OLED in that format.
Crap. I just bought the AW 32" and this sounds fantastic lol
When should I buy the 5120x2160 45”? Dec 2024 or next year tbh
No word on release date yet I’m afraid
Any chance at seeing a 32" with a 5k or 6k resolution? Would love to see something like that.
Longer term maybe but they’ve not just managed to push pixel density to 4K at that size. Nothing in plans yet that we’ve seen
Matte coating = NO BUY.
The prices on these monitors are way too hight. In my opinion they are not worth it.
Where are these Gen 2.5 UltraWides? Shouldn't there be some kind of announcement for a refresh already?
QD OLED 34” you mean? There’s one gigabyte model announced using that panel but I expect others will be announced soon. Look out for the 240Hz refresh rate and the subtle (not 800R) curvature
@@tftcentralI think it's this one: ASRock PGO34QRS2A
Awesome update.
Is there any news about non-oled Samsung panels? Im curious if they have minileds with higher dimming zone counts
Samsung Display no longer make any LCD panels. They stopped that a couple of years back. Samsung Electronics still make some lcd monitors though using other manufacturers panels nowadays
@@tftcentral thank you for the clarification
My predictions for the OLED monitor market going forward are as thus:
VRR gamma flicker will continue to mar an otherwise near perfect tech; the companies will continue to ignore the issue and the media ( including TFT Central) will continue to do the panel makers a favor by never addressing it in any of their reviews and conveniently sweeping this glaring issue under the rug.
What does it mean ? (phosphorus for the blue subpixel) That there will be no risk of burn-in?
@@laddso5444 The material is more efficient than the current fluorescent material. The means higher brightness with less burn in.
Will we get such a monitor with built-in speakers?
ohhh cmon LG, make 42 c4 with 240Hz and MLA or Flex 2 42 with MLA + 240Hz !
I just want higher brightness QD-OLED's man. All I ask for.
No info on when that monitor will hit the market.
great video. The best Buy sell of the LG UltraGear 45" OLED Curved WQHD 240Hz 0.03ms FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Gaming Monitor with HDR400 - Black
for $1,199.00 ($500 Off) brought me here. I think I am going to wait for a better resolution flat screen with at least 1300 nits. I didn't like that the LG monitor listed above left text grainy.
So are we to assume the PG27AQDP will still be a matte finish ? I only game at night so reflections aren't an issue for me Cheers
Yes it is
Appreciate the reply mate, think the new MSI 271QRX is the way to go then, just waiting for some reviews....
@MrStato355 we should have one soon 👍
I was interested in the new glossy 27” Asus xg27aqdmg.. then I found out it’s still got the old RWBG pixel layout which makes text blurry. :(
Not that I expect it’ll magically make me a better gamer but I’m most interested in 480hz didn’t know that was expected this year. Exciting stufff
Is there any news about IPS 27" 4K 240Hz?
Not in this video about OLED panels 😀 check out our other videos about LG Display And AUO LCD panels though from recently 😀
Will you guys be reviewing the AW3225QF aswell?
yes indeed, working on it right now.
5k x 2k 40 inch oled plz 120 hz plz DP 2.0 plz
and I will drop a whole chunk on one but not if it doesn't at least meet that spec come on monitor makers this is the last monitor I would ever buy
So basicially if you want 4K and larger that 32" you'll need to wait until 2025. Thats Disappointing but at least we wont get buyers remorse.
Feel you bro. it's absolutely frustrating
It might be MSI’s second or third generation of making 34” models, but the panel inside remains the same
@@tftcentralThank you lots. I had a feeling that was the case but couldn't find a valid source to triple check for the life of me.
@@tftcentral Why MSI is advertising that with Next Gen? Any idea?
@MrEmiroglu53 I expect they are using the term “next gen” to refer to their latest added tech like heatsink and graphene panel which wasn’t featured in their earlier 34” models. And OLED care 2.0 etc
@@tftcentralkinda misleading me thinks. and so do many others on reddit about this ambiguous info.
Excited to see the new 45" 4k ultrawide !
Your channel is a big help. I'm hoping and waiting to see more burn in mitigation tech in 2025 or 26 at least 2x better than current before dropping huge investment.
Me I just want a Glossy WOLED 4k monitor like LG do with their tv...
That 39" ultrawide...... gimme!
no 42 options? it's a missed opportunity. what do you think?
The IPS black at a 32ish it those dual mode (4k/1080p) monitors around 32in are what I'm looking forward to
still no comments on MSI skipping MAG series firmware update....
Yea its weird but the $800 entry, with firmware but they add one $50 less to not be able to do that so i guess thankfully its not $800 and $850
Looks like LG is making some really big (and necessary) upgrades this year.
RIP 42 inch. They rather sell the smaller screens for higher margins.
Other manufacturers aren’t as lucky though and their timelines will be later in the year still
If LG mentioned June for the 480Hz 27” panel, then that will have been LG.Display, as LG Electronics don’t have any monitor announced with that panel yet. so their talk of June is likely for panel production, aligned with our dates here. The only monitor announced so far using that panel is from Asus, and their expectations are still for monitor release in Q3 they’ve told us
Are these monitors good for HDR color grading?
Such an excellent video, the best I have seen about the topic so far. Thank you so much.
Maybe a strange question: But why do these Oled Monitors have 26.5 inch screens instead of full 27 inches? I plan to use an Oled Monitor as my main next to my older 27 inch LCD and my inner monk is rebelling because it is not the same size :D
Not sure why it’s slightly different tbh. Some other 27” class panels are slightly different too and rounded up
Thank you for a great update and overview.
Do you think we’re still on target for the Gen 2.5 45in 5k2k monitor for Q1 2025?
We’ve not had any recent updates but I’m still hopeful we will see them in early 2025. Likely a focus of CES in January
Really curious when we'll see pixel densities in the >200 range. Would love to see some OLED options that can be used comfortably with 2x integer scaling.
That would require 6k 27 inch or 8k 32inch monitors, maybe in the future
Hopefully never. Zero benefit at normal viewing distances.
I'm quite excited for the 3rd generation: 31.5(32) 4k and the 27 inch 4k. But I would not want more then 240. 165 preferably
So If I were to buy a new 34'' Ultrawide Qd Oled from Dell
it would have a gen 1 panel ?
annoying
Yes that’s right. The gen 2.5 QDOLED panel isn’t available yet but should be released soon
The only concern is Burn In, as I use the monitor for office work too.
yeah, as programmer and gamer the 45" 4k ultrawide is what I waiting for.
I think the next gen 32" panel will be the sweet spot, hopefully 480Hz with full UHD and better Windows support for the subpixel layout by then ....
27" 4k oled rgb in 2025! I'm hyped. Too bad I kinda need a monitor now.
cant wait for the 27 inch 4k oleds! 2025 is gonna be dope!
Will Samsung launch a 480hz OLED panel to compete with LG this year?
Not this year, no. Whether or not they will have a new panel later on is not yet known. I expect they’d go beyond 480Hz if they did

WRT brightness - I think there are new pigments coming.
This should hopefully cover your questions 😀

Got the MSI MPG321URX and it's a game changer, comparing to LG C1 before.
Can someone just for the love of God release a 40" 5k2k miniled panel with 144hz or greater for the crowd that actually has to use their computer for work and want to game at night.... obvious hole in the market for a good middle ground productivity and gaming monitor. OLED isn't it for everyone.
This is the closest you’ll find right now. No Mini LED but a solid productivity large format screen tftcentral.co.uk/news/dell-u4021qw-announced-with-40-ips-panel-and-5120-x-2160-5k2k-resolution
@tangodown2721 they’ve got some 49” Mini LED options like the Odyssey Neo G9 that might fit?
@tftcentral the issue on the 49" is pixel density. Once they make it 2160 I'll take another look at it.
Bro deserves more recognition, I was about to get a IPS panel but.... not anymore. Excellent video!
27 is my sweet spot, might to wait until q4 next year.
mine too but such a push for 32 inch 4k oled on reddit, most users saying they wont go back to 1440p, 1440p higher fps vs 4k native texture assets...
@@denvernaicker8250because 32 inches is objectively the better and more immerse experience, whether you are a casual gamer, esport gamer, watch videos or use it for color correction. In my opinion the sweet spot will be around 35 inches but 32 is a huge improvement over 27.
there is already. AW2725DF. 360hz 1440P QD OLED
27" is yuk 🤮
@@jamesmadison3108Isn't that the one with horrible eye strain problem? Besides there is 27" 1440p 480hz coming soon. No reason to buy 360hz.
I noticed i can read with less strain on my OLED phone (Pixel 6) compared to the VA and IPS monitors that i use. Would be awesome to have that same experience on desktop.
I use dark mode, even white on black text most of the time.
Can we expect an update soon? 6 months have passed.
We’re planning an update summary soon, although getting more recent updates can be challenging
Do we know if Samsung is working on a dual-mode monitor as well? It would also make so much more sense if LG made a 5K display that can be downscaled to 1440p during DFR instead of 1080p with 4K.
None that we are aware of
@@tftcentral Alright. Do you think the true RGB 32 inch from LG will be dual mode considering it basically have the same specs as the current one? Is it worth waiting for you think?
@PD-ws4td very hard to know at this stage. It wasn’t listed as supporting DFR, but things can change. The text clarity is already very good on the new layout and 4K density so I wouldn’t wait if you’re after a new screen now
@@tftcentral Gotcha, thanks a lot :)
