Me,too. One of those knowingly so-glad-to-be-in-this-same-boat-with-you,mate-and -wouldn't want-it-any-other-way smiles. They always were/are such great friends.I love these guys sooo much!!
What a fuck, for some comments here, CHEAP TRICK are the best Rock Band Ever...even on their sixties they ROCK!!!! Long Live This Amazing Band!!! Love U Guys!!!
I was a teen growing up in the Midwest in the late 70's/early 80's. Can't imagine a better time musically to be a kid. Cheap Trick toured RELENTLESSLY -- every state fair, every hall any place big or small. Power Pop -- almost as unique of American music as delta blues. It was a style of music I'd rather compared with England's NWOBM than the 80's hair metal bands a few years after this.
He's some baby is Rick Neilson, who is one talented axe man, exemplified by his solo on the I need your love track on the Dream Police album, and more so on the live at Budakan album 😉
"rock and roll" doesn't belong in a "museum"... if you know about these guys- you have accepted the fact that they DESERVE better than they got. turn it up!
Saw these guys 20 days earlier than this show, at San Diego "Jack Murphy" stadium. Pat Travers, Cheap Trick, UFO, and Blue Oyster Cult. 5 Aug. 1979. Show didn't end until 1:00 in the morning! Ahh, the good old days. . .
Yup, I saw this tour maybe a few days earlier in 1979 up in San Jose CA at SJ Spartan Stadium in front of over 25,000 fans. Local band Shakin street opened the show, then came Pat Travers band and then Cheap Trick and then the headliner Blue Oyster Cult. What a great show. I've seen CT live over 25 times and this was by far the loudest Cheap Trick concert I've ever attended!!!!!!!!!!! 👍
@@cesarrivero338 I don't recall it being a KGB show. I was, however, at the last skyshow to feature live music in 1983. The lineup was Uriah Heep, Eddie Money, Motley Crue, and Def Leppard. Saw Crue and Leppard in September at Petco Park.
tuff crowd eh? haha who were the headliners? every vid I have seen of any of your live perfomances, has been pure mint. ALWAYS. I snoozed and losed. I need to check the website, I'm sure you still kick ass, and lord knows, I've got some ass kickin to do. peas out
What type of guitar is tom pederson playing?remember he is the bass player?? Great version, why is Zander holding the guitar=he is not playing it-Does he think he is Elvis???
Apparently this isn't good enough for the so called Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. When America's best rock band can't get into the hall, something is very amiss.
tommyrock.....u are NOT tommyrock......if you were, you would have taste for OUR music........I would guess you are a fan of many bands that have average talent but huge stage shows.......sorry, that is just my view point.....I appreciate an awesome voice and talent in the band.....CT......doesn't get any better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Celebrating 50 years in 2024. Just an amazing band.
The fact that Robin Zander can maintain that level of pitch and vocal strength is mind boggling
TRUELY!!👍🏼🏁❤️
Amazing.
One of the greats.
After 56 years on the planet I never EVER get tired of hearing one of the greatest AMERICAN Rock & Roll bands do it live !
Jeannie pearce would love to see creap trick have a out door concert in st John's NL in the summer time so then I could meet the lead singer
Agreed!!!!
That was there best album ever the song was incredible. One in a million album .
This song is so damn good. Pure garage rock for the world
No better way to jump start my day with some cheap trick, not even my coffee can perk me up like this Band 🔥🔥🔥💕💕
Agreed!!!!😊
Same here.😊
When a great band shows itself you may know it by this sign: It Rocks Balls Live. Cheap Trick. What a great Band.
One of the greatest bands of all time!!!!
1:54 we can appreciate here how Bun E. Carlos says goodbye to his cigarette
only Charlie Watts was Cooler than Bun, but just barely
Robin Zander one of the greatest singers in R&R IMO!!
woke up with this song in my head.
Damn!!! I'm getting chills, this gig fucking rocks!!!
***** that killed!!
1:53 Spits cigarette out like a boss.
My favoite local band growing up in Chicago!
An amazing band and an incredible performance.

Whoever did the sound production for this in '79 is an absolute legend.
What a fuck, for some comments here, CHEAP TRICK are the best Rock Band Ever...even on their sixties they ROCK!!!!
Long Live This Amazing Band!!!
Love U Guys!!!
Underrated. This band was Beatles meets Hendrix White Album alums. Who got an A that year.
Robin Zander is a good looking man and I also love his singing as will
I was there!!! There were only two people in my front! That was my first CT show!!! Great!
Nielsen's guitar is loud as FUCK.....love it!!!
5:06 - Left hand lead: Two bars of double strokes, followed by two bars of single strokes. Butter smooth transition.
One of their best , great archive performance.
All time favorite rock and roll song. Rick and bunny ROCK!!!!!

Best ever! :-)
Thanks for the video , I was there aged 15 never thought id see it again. Cool !
Can't get any higher than CHEAP TRICK!!!
Quelle énergie I love it 🎸🤘
75yellowraven: Tom is playing a 12 string Hamer. He plays Hamers exclusively and most of the time they are 12 string, hence the heavy rhythm.
What a ferocious guitar performance!
I'm from the year 2069 🤭..And Robin's voice still sounds the same😉
And this, kids, is how a great band, any great band, sounds live.
Live mics, live people, no second takes.
These guys had sack.
And still doing it in 2019! 🤸✌️💋
Make that HAVE. Or HAS?,?
Rick hamming it up at 3:48 cracks me up.
Nice.
fantastic
tremendous!

I believe that excellent concert was a KGB Skyshow!

This is Great!
There coming ! he,he,he
Wow, very raw ! I wish I had been there though I was 9 and too young to know who Cheap Trick was.
No too young....bought my 1st Cheap Trick album when I was 10 or 11!!! It's been a lifelong love of my favorite band ever since.
@@truedodgerblue2000Fell hard for this band before knowing what they looked like. Still love them.
cool clip - great album
I love the way rick dares to play his live solos sloppy and 'outside the lines.' a true punk aesthetic. genius!
Yes and they still do. :)
love them hiwatt
Awesome!
LOVE 👄
Again,again,and again!
2 dreamy guys...
awesome
great tune!11111111111111
COOL!!!!
Tom's really rockin' his bass!
That's free first time I've ever seen nielson play a fender guitar it's usually Hamer and som gibsons
Only one thing to say ..... I was there!
tuff crowd eh? haha who were the headliners? every vid I have seen of any of your live perfomances, has been pure mint. ALWAYS. I snoozed and losed. I need to check the website, I'm sure you still kick ass, and lord knows, I've got some ass kickin to do. peas out
I done the same at Donington 1984, Snoozed through Van Halen's set,,, to much booze!!
I crack up everytime I see Robin, at the beginning, introduce the song and then hit himself on noggin. Is he also impressed with his singing voice??
He should be. I am.
DEFIANT AF
Good to see Kirk Dyer walking around on the sidelines ...!!!
This was filed during my freshman year in high-school so that means robin was 24 years old he's got me beat by 10 years
What type of guitar is tom pederson playing?remember he is the bass player?? Great version, why is Zander holding the guitar=he is not playing it-Does he think he is Elvis???
On this tour in 1979 Tom was playing his 12 string Hamer bass guitar, and his backup was his 4 string 1964 Gibson thunderbird bass
Can you hear me? Can you see me?
All
All I can say is... they're lucky no one through shit them. Long live Cheap Trick! I wished my keypad made more blotchy ink.
Id like to click 'Like' on all of these comments.
There’s something odd about this. Maybe it’s a board mix.
@75yellowraven
He's much better than Elvis

nice one geezers!!!! fuckin right spot on mate!!

Nielsons's playing is a mess. Way too busy and atonal.
Great sound. Guess I have to ignore that Robin Zander totally looks like a chick. Rock and roll can be so weird.
He is a very pretty man.😍
Sounds like somebody's jealous. Did your GF have a crush on Robin??? *giggles*
He can not help that he's good-looking. You and I should be more concerned about their performance, which is impeccable. They still sound amazing.
the only band that were better than these chaps live is the Boomtown Rats
I love creap trick so much and I love that song that that song the flame
I was there.
Me too
