True dat. When I was in Rock bands, back when I was young and appealing, my two go voices, ( pardon the pun ) were Zander or Don Henley. And on a good night; Tiny Tim.
I saw them at the park west too, a few times. I forgot! I'll never eat another double cheeseburger before bed again! So many fantastic memories they've given me.
A great American rock band surely at their peak and 'on top of the world'. Tom really rocks that 12 string and white 'Beatle boots'.Great of you to share this with the world. Thanks guys ! How 'bout a retro Cheap Trick DVD release with stuff like this???? PLEASE !!
Great song! I was so happy to find them as my favorite band in the mid 1980's! I walked into a record store one day in 1985 and have never looked back! I bought all of the albums that they had and then became a BIG fan! I have seen them at least 20 times in the last 20 years! Best rock band in the world!!
There are Very Few bands that i love every song they did . The Beatles , The rolling stones , and cheap tRiCK ! I so HEAVILY influence by these Rockford Il ICONS !
This is so cool!!! I wish other legendary bands would release vintage clips like this. You know why they don't? 'cause none of 'em sound half as good live like CT. Every bootleg/soundboard recording I have of Trick sounds killer regardless of mix. This made my year!!!!!!!!!! ThanX guys!!!!
@HeavenBelowMusic I have to agree. They have a formula that works well. Down to the details--the "sound checking" "Hello There," and Bun E.'s unique ghosting on the snare. I just can't get enough of this band's awesome sound. Rock and Roll HOF! Let 'em in! We'll break down the doors!
Never should of let you go so easy 34 years ago. But if it's meant to be you won't go. As if IN ''If you love something set it free -If it comes back to you it was meant to be - If it don't it never was...''
Sounds like the vocals are out of the monitor mix. A little dry for sure.... BUT....BUT.....it's still a rockin piece of work! This song was *THE* arena rock song. Saw it done several times in big areas and it sounded so good... Oh the memories!
This song and "Writing On The Wall" were my first indicators that Rick wasn't perfect as a songwriter after all. Then I heard "Everything Works If You Let It" and I thought Uh Oh...
A little bit of rock archeology Listen the Nazz Nazz tune : under the ice Not the same song, just the same guitar line... Rick Nielsen and Todd Rundgren were closed friends. Todd produced one Cheap Trick album. And Rick replaced Todd in Nazz Nazz and took the stage with them during some months around 1969.
Robin's voice is like no other. He is absolutely amazing!!
Probably the most underrated band while being one of thee greatest.
Robin has the best rock and roll voice ever. So amazingly versatile.
True dat. When I was in Rock bands, back when I was young and appealing, my two go voices, ( pardon the pun ) were Zander or Don Henley. And on a good night; Tiny Tim.
One of the.most underrated bands of rock history. Very tight instrumental lyrics and vocally.
best rock and roll band on earth
Whoever recorded this:
THANK YOU!
great sound quality!
Oh Robin, love you in that suit, it's true what they say, "Real men can wear pink"
They opened with this song at the Park West in Chicago in 1986 I knew it would be a special night. Every nite with CT is special.

Back when they still cared.
Explain?
I totally agree and he can still sing on key like on all the original albums... I saw them 2X, and will see them in December.
This was the first time I saw them. This tour in Victoria - Now 29 times and counting.
this song is incredible. howcome i've never heard it before?
It's the first song on side 2 of Dream Police.
Tom was just amazing, as always.
1980 was a very good year for Trick
Not for Tom.
Cheap Trick, you guys make my heart pound like a drum drum drum drum drum drum drum oh yeah!!
Im seeing them this saturday night at my casino in soaring eagle... oh hells yeah !!!

Gods.
My favorite song off Dream Police! The voices are insanely difficult.
This song was in part the inspiration for The Smashing Pumpkins' "Tonight, Tonight" according to Billy Corgan.
TOM!!! yeah!!!
His pink suit days💖
I think I saw them on this tour in Baltimore. UFO was the opening band.
@MDoomernik It was yet ANOTHER SMART gimmic by the great Cheap Trick ! You boys make Rockford so proud it isn't f-in Funny!
@aplaceinfrance Very interesting point. Thank you for the insight.
I Love this entire song!!!

you know how hard it is to sing this????
Like it a lot
One of the better songs from Dream Police.
A little bit of rock archeology

Does anyone know what Tom was running through here?
I believe he used Hiwatt guitar heads at this time. Not too sure beyond that. He's pretty much always played through guitar amps.
*swoon*
it ain't too loud.
