Ask you voice device to play Cheap Trick!
[Chorus]:
You made me cry when you said good-bye.
Ain't that a shame...my tears fall like rain
Ain't that a shame...you're the one to blame.
You broke my heart, now we're apart.
Ain't that a shame...my tears fall like rain
Ain't that a shame...you're the one to blame.

I'll be 98 years old next march and I still love this band fond memories
Rock on , man! I am 56 and I know that if I am blessed enough to reach 98 I will love this song as much, also. Much respect, friend!
Damn! keep rocking pops ! 53 I have no idea how I made it this far. Respect.
54 here and still living like I am 21 ! Hope I make it to 98!
Happy birthday
Phenomenal!
Bun E Carlos was the most underrated drummer ever!!!!! Hey Bun ? Your fans r here!! You rule!!!
He was criminally underrated drummer!!! Carlos is one of the few drummers that fluidly use both left and right hands while playing …effortlessly …Amazing drummer !!!! i can watch him play all day !!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁
Yep. It’s not Cheap Trick without Bun.
@@gregoryprice7223all while smoking a lot cigarette. Dude was amazeballs.
One of the best drum openings to any song I've ever heard.
Brad M Carlson AKA Bun E. Carlos. Great drummer!
@@itsmeitsmeearnestt.5772 I think it is the greatest intro ever. amazing
Ken Vail it is one of the best that’s for sure, stargazer by rainbow probably has the best though, then again just my opinion! Cheers
You know you are bad ass when you can smoke a cigarette while playing the Drums.
@diver dave, holy flock, thanks for that pointer!
This intro evolved because the front guys needed time to switch guitars...

Poor Bun E Carlos doesn't get enough credit. Guy is the foundation to their beat and rhythm.
Agreed
X 1000
He is one of the most talented drummers I’ve ever heard. One of my MAIN influences.
he gets plenty of credit
Criminally underrated.
I was born and raised in Rockford IL since 1968, left in 86. My father worked with Robin's mother at an adult mentally challenged school. He and the band would come there to sign the students pottery and for the school to sell them to raise money for the school. I would see Rick come the movie theater with his family I worked at. They would always do a donation concert in a park in the area for the March of Dimes foundation. Good People for sure. Nelson guitar shop owned by his father was in the neighborhood too. I've seen a lot of their concerts and ever a guitar pic from Rick he would always throw out, later I gave it to my GF and she made an earring out of it. lol Fond memories. We had a Cheap Trick VS Kiss war while I was in junior high too. So fun
I caught a pick once and some giant dude nearly broke my hand stealing it
Wow. What a great story. Thanks!
No contest Cheap Trick!
Nice!!! Thx for sharing!!
Love cheap trick, but for me it's always been and will always be kiss first.
Hello to all my preceding generations. 25 here! Grew up listening to good music because of my late father (died at age 59 in 2020) and this type of music keeps those memories of him close!
That’s just neat!!! Your dad I know appreciated that!!!!
Robin Zander has one of of the best voices in rock.
still
And looks
Right up there with Steve Marriott.
I agree 💯 %
The ability to do the soft love stuff, and then the hard stuff, I just do not think there is anyone that can do both as good as Robin
When my wife and I were dating the first concert we went to was Cheap Trick. Bothe sets of parents said we wouldn't make it. Well, 39 years later and seven (7) Cheap Trick concerts later we're still together! Come back to Bismarck guys.
I don't like to throw the term underrated around much but they were wayyyy underrated
I'm 61 and quite frankly I can't imagine my world without Cheap Trick in it.
Some days you just want to crank it up and listen to some great tunes from a magnificent band!
I'm 63 and love to crank it up ,have a few drinks and go down..... memory lane.
That's what Led Zeppelin is for.
❤❤❤
One of THE best bands to see live! Bun E. is one of the greatest underrated drummers of all time.
I think he's pretty highly regarded as a drummer. My drummer friends comment on his tasty chops and timing.
@diver dave I saw them twice, loudest band i ever heard, and in over 45 concerts the worst sound ever heard, it was a jumbled mess, shame , ears were ringing for weeks.
Drums and Guitars, it's Awesome 1980s, Thank You, Cheap Trick
Cheap Trick 1975 ,76,77,and 78,Live at Budokan
Not underrated!!
Boy, these guys were good. If this isn't the greatest live album what is?
If you're wondering why Robin goes running off stage right at 0:50, he was checking to make sure that the fan that got bum rushed by security is OK, and to tell them not to throw her out of the show. These guys have always been a class act!
They were so popular in Japan that the press dubbed them "the American Beatles." I saw them in Philly at the old Tower Theatre. They blew the house down!
Saw them at the Tower on the Lap Of Luxury tour.
Then they did the Vegas residency doing all of the Sergeant Pepper's album. Too bad it has been mostly taken down. It was a great show.
I love the lead singer and the band rocks
Must have shook the foundation!!!😮
Bun E. Carlos - a criminally underrated drummer!
One of the best live bands ever! Lucky enough to see them back in the day!
@@chrislogan7574 SURRENDER. Just THAT song alone was worth the price of 🎫🎟️💖🇺🇸🌹
Hi kathie,hope you’re okay ?
This song, though. F epic. 😁
I got to see them 3 times
they still play just missed them last week at the hard rock because it was on a tuesday i didnt go but wanted to
Cheap Trick Doesn't get any better than this! 😎 🤘 ☠️
Back in the day I played this album till the vinyl wore out. I got a scratch on this track, my brain still hears the 'pop' every time I come back here.
I wore out two records and I can't remember how many cassettes. This was my go too album for getting a party rocking.
Put a nickel on the arm to stop the skips
yeah except this isn't the version that was on the album
@@johnmcindoe2604 OMG, flashback!
@@TimDyck Hell yeah.
Great sound out of a great four-piece. Every player is carrying his weight.
Tom Peterson (the bass player) is playing either a 8 or 12 string bass of his own design.
I worked ten years in the music industry and have seen tons of bands and have seen these guys a lot! They are outstanding live.
@@christopherharmon2433 12 string, yes, his own design, Greatest Bass player (in my era, and maybe ever)
And this... ladies and gentlemen, is what's called a true SUPERGROUP!!!!
So this the first band I ever saw in concert in Sacramento about 1981. Went into the Marines, then after ended up in Connecticut as a State Trooper a few years later. One night I stopped for a disabled vehicle on I-91 near New Haven CT. Low and behold it was Cheap Trick! Their driver ran out of gas. Lol. They were performing in CT so I gave them a ride to the hotel they were staying at in New Haven. Left to driver behind to wait for the tow truck with gas. These dudes were so freaking cool. Chatted me up and I told them how I saw them at a totally awesome show in Sacramento in 1981. At first, I had a hard time believing them when they said they were the Rock Band Cheap Trick, but I totally recognized Rick Nielson, who had walked back to the car after seeing my overhead lights. No cell phones then so they had to walk to get gas. Anyways, when I dropped them off, they asked for my card. A couple weeks later, I got a package with a autographed poster and a T-shirt. Now that was nice. Always, I like these guys since. Met a few celebrities as a Trooper. Some are cool, some are weird, and some are just plain ol normal like these dudes. Heard this song on the radio today and it remined me of this story. Not that anyone cares but it was cool at the time.
Cool- thanks for your service and for relating your great experience!
What a great story! Thanks for sharing with us - not everyone has such a brush with humble greatness. It's nice to hear that they were just normal. And kind.
This was my future wife's very first concert in Columbus Ohio and they were the main headliner with Head East in UFO I love my wife then and I love her now LOL
Great story!!! Me CTrickey cares. Thanks for sharing!!!!
Wow! Thanks for sharing! I saw them on the beach, in Miami.. Free concert! This was back in 87! Saw them again, in their hometown, of Rockford, IL. The doobie brothers opened up for them. I resided, in Rockford, for a few years, and would catch bunny, playing pool, at the Latham Tap! Cool stuff!
55 yrs. old and they still give me a chill. Rick is most definitely in my Top 5 greatest guitar players whoever walked the Earth.
Not to mention songwriters
So true a very big part of the show
64 years old and still rock like hell to these guys! Live from Budakon is one of the best live albums ever!
63, got to see them in Mississippi while in the Navy Seabees I believe it was 81 or 82. They were great. Boy was that long ago ,yet seems like yesterday.
This album was when I knew I loved Rock and Roll ❤️
That dude is shredding that quitar.
Good job guys. That rocks.
I have met Cheap Trick and have an autographed photo from the seventies. It was so cool to shake the hands of my idols. Afterwards I was right at the stage for the concert. Great memories. I still cannot believe I actually met them.
😯✌
Jesus, they are SPOT ON and the drumming is SICK! Can't believe this is live.
Live and FORTY ONE YEARS AGO..
Spot on to what
Best live album ever
Still love this band. I am 60 years old, and still rocking to this band.
Ditto @61!
ditto as well @56 👍🏻👍🏻
59 and who is listening to this in 2021! Ya Baby!
55 and a Cheap Trick fan here in Ireland 🇮🇪
Same here at 62!
Just saw them in concert, New Years Eve 2019 at Treasure Island Casino, Red Wing MN and they brought the house down!!! 40 years of Rock & Roll Domination!!! Young and old were dancing in the isles.
We need a two hour loop of that kick-ass drum intro.
Hell Yeah!!!!!!
It never gets old.
Saw them in Lake Geneva, WI when they were still a bar band back in early 70's.
I can only imagine how much Japanese trim these guys smashed on this tour.
What a fun band Cheap Trick was.. Just wonderful
We need more rock and roll bands like this! 65 and still rockin'!
Sadly, Fats Domino the original artist died in October 2017.
One of the best live albums ever
Got to see them around 82 , they were great.
In my album version of Live at Budokan, the lyrics on the album sleeve were badly translated into English and now I always sing: Ain't that a sham, youre the one to blam. Still one of the best live albums.
I'm a Wisconsin boy, thru and thru!
The ORIGINAL singer for Cheap Trick was a dude named Zeno, well..
Robin took over, Zeno ended up singing for Milwaukee's very own; Bad Boy.
Stories of Cheap Trick sneaking up here before AND after hitting big, are all over town... STILL!
Met Bun E at a Milwaukee East Side pub? Just a real cool cat.
i remember cheap trick playing the Brat Stop
Summer 77, they opened for KISS, I couldn't believe they were the warm up act.
Bun e Carlos is an excellent drummer very underated
This song should be retitled ENCORE because I can't get enough of it...Lol!
This is probably their best performance of this song. It is so clean and crisp. The drum intro is stellar. I can plainly hear the different instruments.
I saw them as a young kid, a year before this gig. Nobody quite understood this band, but make no mistake, they did. One of a kind. Underrated, to be honest.
IMO, the best non-traditional cover ever.
I'm 53 And I love these Guys ..Take me back to the 70's /80's
This is the Fats Domino composition turned up to 11. One of my favourite tracks from the live album especially with that base of drums that Bun E Carlos lays down at the beginning that builds up the energy before the wall of guitar comes on. One hell of a live jam.
They open for so many big bands and you know what they really was the big band 😅😅
Bun E. Carlos you legend! One of my favorite drummers ever
These guys are epic my mom went to school with them Guilford High! Grew up in the 80s! One of the best bands ever! 52 and still loving new releases!
The lead singer went to my school Harlem. He graduated a couple of years before me. Great guy. Rick still lives in Rockford.
67 years old and been rocking thru the 60’s. 70’, 80’s 90’s and still going. Music is my life....
Guitar pick teardrop @ 2:43 is hilarious, never seen that before.
Wow! Me either,
Well spotted Eric!
(Time stamp is actually 2:43 )
@@Drew_Hurst You're right....have no idea why I put 2:20.
@@ZomBMarketing Thanks, I almost missed it. All good!
The amazing thing, regarding Bun E. Carlos, is he's playing this right handed (he's naturally a left handed drummer).
Lauren Hamre is that true- Bun E is left handed? Just wondered as a fan
@@scottconyer4575 He's done both right and left handed drumming. If you watch videos over the years, he drums right handed early on, then switches to left. If the Wikipdeias can be believed, he's naturally left handed.
Amazing!
The best thing to come out of Rockford IL.
No "Stiff Competition" there....
Perhaps the ONLY thing ...
The drum beat/style really carry this song
STILL HERE AFTER ALL OF THESE YEARS.
A gone but not forgotten treasure from the good old days.
Cheap Trick was the pioneer for the greatest decade of music, The 80's.!! Feel blessed to be in high school and college during this time. Peace, Love and Happiness!
These guy's are timeless talent.
Hi Linda,hope you’re okay ?
Rick adds color like no other guitarist
One of the all time intros!
this is the song that made me fall in love with the album
🤘🤘🎸 🎸
Being the Drummer is the best part!
I would like to say that when this album came out I really thought that they would've put out as a single. The intro for is honestly one of the best intro's I have heard. The drums with a kick ass beat, you then have the guitar come and it grabs you. The music just elevates you and then comes " You make me cry, when say goodbye".The are a part of it also. Great build up to the song I wish they would have put it out as a 45
We baby boomers lived in the best time in history! I loved hanging out in Mission Beach and smoking Opium Thai and dropping acid! What a great time to be alive! The other generation will never experience that!
Uh, i'm pretty sure this generation has no problem getting drugs. And I'm about your age probably
David Ferrara I'm 55. I just think back when I was in high school the pot wasn't as potent as today! I know the mushrooms were kick ass!

Bun E Carlos..... Nuff said..... ;)
One of THE best bands to see live! Bun E. is one of the greatest underrated drummers of all time.
Born in 69 and this album still brings me the same feelings that I had whenever I drop the needle! Absolutely one of the if not the best live album of all time!
Born in '81. No idea how or why, but they still make my heart flutter.
In Air Force at Lowry when Cheap Trick broke out with their massive TALENT....soooooo
Fucking great.
I love Cheap Trick. I am a 70 yr old white man and was blessed to live at a time when all the greatest bands ever came into being. The Beatles, the Stones, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mack, The Mommas and the Pappas, Carly Simon, James Taylor, Ten Years After, Cactus, Clapton, The ANimals, Ted Nuggent,Led Zepplin, Jackson Brown Robin Trower and on and on. I thank God I was there for them all and many of their predecessors. Tody there are no more super groups that go on for decades with hit after hit. I miss those days. Thank God for vynil and dvd's.
i am a 24 yr old asian girl and i agree with you 100%
@@medd0ws You are blessed to have great taste in music.
It's nice to know we have that in common.

This one has a great beat, chord progression, and the drum intro, stellar.
Kinda sad story but he's being honest and let's us know his perspective. Empathy.

One of the best bands I've seen live, first time was 86 blowing motley crue off the stage in Edinburgh
They may be “Cheap Trick” but they will always be “Priceless” to me.
Hi julene,hope you’re okay !
When I was a kid I made a tape of Cheap Trick Foghat and Boston I wish I still had it
I'm 54 I remember rocking out to them when I was 8 !
One of the best bands ever! So glad I saw them back in 79!
Always loved that drum intro
Budokan is a great venue. Holds plenty. Note the audience screams. Lots of Japanese girls! I played there in 1968 battle of the bands.
I looked like Bun E Carlos when I was 15 without me knowing it back in 1977
One of their best songs, if not the best.
🤘🤘🌹🎸 🎸
The drummer is definitely the best musician in the band.
I'll be 101 years old next April and I love these tossers.
The Album that changed my life !! Greatness !!
Wherever you are. Much love. We definitely know how to bring the house down w pure ROCK and ROLL. Your good friend in Daytona Beach FL

I'll never forget the 1st time I saw them back in the 80s. They rocked my world then and still rock my world today!
RIGHT ON,I WAS 16 WHEN THEY PUT THIS ALBUM OUT.59 NOW AND THEY STILL ROCK IT
I love their drummer. 😸
Rick is the most underrated in rock !!!
Fun, anarchy and talent.
Rick flicked a guitar pick right at me during their 1979 Lakeland, FL show I caught it and still have it, has his face printed on it along with the bands name on the other side, they put on a great show and I was so stoked to have caught the guitar pick
Not sure about that. I think he might be overrated as a guitarist. Nothing innovative or special about what he does. He shines as a songwriter, though. Or did.
Yes, he acted like it was nothing.
@@ashbowen6551 I have to agree a little nuts but he acts and looks like Sach huntz Hall from the Bowery boys that is what makes him so great
I’m 68 and I’ve killed too many brain cells messin’ around with rock n roll like this…and other things.
Does anybody else find yourself saying, “What did you say?”
Epic Cover Plain and Simple!!!
Can’t believe Cheap Trick played at a music festival 2 blocks from my house in NJ in a county park. Literally .25 miles from my back door fucking Cheap Trick playing all their hits. I was looking around thinking people do you realize what is going on here. I still can’t believe I saw them in my neighborhood!!!
this tune kicks ass!!
Ladies and Gentlemen, This is Cheap Trick, Live in Budokan, Please Enjoy!😁
These guys rock. Nearly 70 just love their music what a band.
Bun E! - 40 plus years (since this was recorded) and still rockin (2023)
This is the only Cheap Trick song I REALLY like, but that's enough to make them one of my favorite bands.
Bun E Carlos...very underrated percussionist. My friend John bought this record and we jammed it loud.
The drummer always makes think, like if their drummer got sick and their bus driver had to sit in for him.
Lmao
The first ROCK Band I ever got obsessed with in 1978! LOL :)
