In 2021 I bought a 2014 Model S 85 RWD with 54,003 miles on it for $28,700. Retail price was $92,100. Had to replace 2 door handles and a window regulator but my gas car window regulators had to get replaced also. With the money I save on gas and oil changes and tunes ups I've already saved a ton over my old gas Prius. I love my Tesla. There's nothing I would change and I'll never go back to a gas car. I love driving past gas stations that are $6 a gallon. Model S battery is engineered to go between 300,000 and 500,000 miles so I should still have a long way to go before I need to replace the battery.

I'm kinda skeptical that you are saving a lot of money on gas vs Prius. I also bought model S recently and got rid of my Prius, but I realized that Prius was such an efficient car that energy cost is very comparable with EVs. Don't get me wrong, I love my model S too, but I feel that the displayed range on my Tesla is never true.

@@pierregilbert6953 I've had my Tesla for over 2 years now and have only had to replace 2 door handles and a window regulator, meanwhile each month I don't pay $6 a gallon for California gas, I don't spend $90 for an oil change every 5 months, I don't spend $300 to $400 for a tune up and spark plug change and timing belt change and all the other expenses involved with a gas car. I actually look forward to going to work because I get to drive my Tesla. My Model S is the funniest, fastest and most technologically advanced car I've ever owned and it's also the second safest car ever tested right behind the model 3, so yeah, I'm saving A TON of cash everyday but hey, if you want to stick with your gas car using the same tired old technology your grandpa used, do whatever floats your boat bud.

Nice review. Purchased my 2015 P85D 17 months ago. I have no issues with the car until the one-year warranty from Tesla expired. The rear trunk actuator went bad, it’s more common than not. It was a $300,00+ repair. This has been the only repair so far. I did update the MCU 1 to MCU2. It was well worth the $1,500. And the car came with free connectivity but not supercharging. This car is the fastest car I have ever owned or ridden in. It was not the primary reason for the purchase but it was high on the list. No regrets in my purchase and will enjoy it for quite a few years down the road.

Bought a 2015 Model S in 2020 as a CPO from Tesla. Including 4 years of full warranty. Added 30.000 km since then. Battery heating and hand brake was fixed by Tesla on warranty. As there is no automatic trunk, no sun roof and no air ride there is not much that can break.
I upgraded to CCS charging and MCU2. Now this Tesla is the car that can recharge on any recharging station in Europe 😁 including Chademo.
A police officer crashed into my car during winter. All was well fixed. The mandatory security check was passed without any issues detected.
Model S is a really nice, cool and good car.
In the meantime the price tag is higher than what I payed because of energy prices and no new Model S shipped to Europe since 2 years.

I bought my rear wheel drive 2016 facelift MS 70 a year ago. Now the value of the car is £5-6k higher than a year ago.
I spent a bit of money on two new Michelin tires and a wheel alignment and new vipers.
I put around 11k miles in it and I don’t see the tires wears out at all so if there is a tire wearing problem I suggest to take it to Tesla to align the wheels.

I feel Tesla is slowly improving the fit and finish quality of its vehicles. I think they’re still years away from the quality of Toyota or Honda. However they’re years ahead in battery and electric motor efficiency. And a decade ahead in auto driving software. They keep improving incrementally so I don’t think any major auto company can catch them in the next 10 years.

Just bought a 2014 loaded P85D. I missed a bubble in the tire sidewall when inspecting. Took it to Tesla to go over the car. 4 new tires, 2 bent wheels, 2 control arms, 2 suspension links, alignment, new 12v battery, new battery heater and $8400 later I was good to go lol! I thought $40k for the car was a good deal, now I know why.
