To me the images look 90% almost the same except for the white balance, but that's all on the software side. I mean it's the same hardware except for the five times telephoto zoom, the rest is identical. I think Samsung will also bring the 23Ultra to the same level with the update to 6.1. hopefully they don't intentionally worsen the 10x zoom. So that the 24ultra looks better. It's a shame that Samsung moved away from the 10x zoom, it was unique. instead of improving it and perhaps renewing the 3x zoom with 50mpx for the zoom levels from 3-9
Yes that's what i would like samsung to do too.... If they put 3x 50 mp it would be more versatile as they can achieve good picture quality from 3x to 9x... The switch to 5x is a dumb move by samsung n it just look like an apple copy cat... The 5x is too far for portrait, the 3x is the best one...
@@akagetobimaru19943x 50mp so "optical" till 6x and then a new 7x 50mp. 2x crop on 7x would be better (more far) then the old 10x and still you would have a less zomed option instead of 10x. Yes! We're not necessarily asking for something miraculous, but it would be reasonable to expect that the new phones corrects all the flaws that people have mentioned about the previous phone.

I prefer the colours and contrast of the s24 Ultra; it almost looks like a s23 ultra with a GCam loll. Any difference with the 50-200mp in daylight? These modes are champions of overexposure; have they been improved? Thank you for your comparison!!! :)
Nice video :-) I compared two S21 ultra simultaneously last year, and the differences on recording videos were really obvious (same firmware update on both, same subjects recorded at the same time). Especially at 10x, one gave more sharpness but less exposition (light). I also compared two Huawei Mate 20 pro, there were differences too (but they were slight compared to the two S21U). I would not be surprised if this would be the case on all phones.
I don't think the S24 Ultra camera is as bad as some people out there say it is. The colours in your photos were not drab and washed out. The only noticeable difference in these photos and videos was the extra contrast in the videos and pictures on the S24 Ultra. I was surprised that the S23 Ultra was as effective at 5x zoom as the 24U in pics and videos. At 10x zoom all was excellent from both devices, but the stabilization on the S23 Ultra was better in 10x video. There is nothing between these two devices camerawise overall. People will see what they want to see here. It just is nice to see the S24 Ultra performing better on here than on other channels when being compared with the IPhone 15 Pro Max. In three reviews here, the S24 Ultra pictures especially looked AWFUL with poor saturation and exposure problems. It makes me wonder why?.
Well, the real upgrade here is Dolby Vision which is different from backward technology for HDR results to Photos. If you don't have a display licensed Dolby Vision, you cannot see their HDR metadata so you could think it's washed out. But don't fear, there's the sRGB transfer which were calculated originally when taking the photo. So well you will not profit of any Gamut/nits from DV but you have also a really good SDR version. Unfortunately this S24 come with a bunch of new technology so everyone were hyped, but they prefer oversaturated colors instead of all that. And for this you can do nothing. It's like an Apple addict iPhone 10, you ask him to get your S22 Ultra and he say NO Apple is way better for everything even if your S22 is 2-3x better in everything.
I'm also extremely surprised to see how different the results are from a review to another. It's literally not the same phone. I don't believe I have seen such a huge difference from a video (or device?) to another. In some videos it handles the highlights perfectly, and in others the highlights are totally overexposed.

Great review! You can really see how 4K video 10x S23U looks overall better showing more details because of real 10x optical lens while S24U sadly you can see the digital zoom, looks more saturated and defined than S23U but it is digitally zoomed and this is bad. a sad step back i will say, at least for me. watching on a phone or small tablet is fine but on large 4K displays or tv's the difference is substantial.
That is why I went for new S23 ultra. Flat screen is cheaper to produce than the curved one, 5x zoom periscope is cheaper to produce that 10x and titanium frame is the low grade titanium, much cheaper than the one used in iphone 15. In fact S24 ultra is cheaper version of S23 ultra despite having some routine hardware advancements like new cpu/gpu and new gorrila glass (but again not curved). The only aspect of S24 ultra that is appealing is its lifespan of 7 years of software updates.
So if you edit the s23 video and if you increased the contrast well it will look similar like the s24 so if you use remastered in s23 the pics will pop like the s24
