Cool video, but 5 presets for 30€, seriously? :D Thanks, but I'll skip. Presets are nice, however the truth nobody selling these wants to admit is that unless you are doing serial photography with the same settings and lighting, you get so much better results individually editing photographs (you know, each photograph is unique after all). Like I get it, if you do commercial photography presets are a huge time saver. But even then, you want to do them yourself to get the absolute best results for your specific situations. When I used to do commercial car photography, I always had the same settings, same studio lights, but still I needed +20 presets just to account for different car colors and slightly changing light leaking in from outside. And even with the presets, I often had to adjust the photographs at least a bit.

I too held on to my Canon DSLRs until the last - but heck, these phone camera systems really take the adage of ‘The best camera is the one you have with you at the time’ - & runs with it! I only use one DSLR now for actual macro photography.

@@SilentKnight43 Same! But this time it was almost me. Easter Sunday was super lovely weather (here in the UK) - we went on what should have been a short & uneventful jaunt to a local new farm shop - then it unexpectedly pivots into a 'visit the farm animals' type thing, for the kids! We're into spontaneity (or try to be), & went ahead. A few moons ago, I would've been wanting to go back to the car for my proper camera, plus the dilemma over which exact lens to use - which can really 'spoil' the flow of the experience for the family... But not this time! I already have a stupendous camera on me (S22 Ultra in my case) - & could just crack on & let the events & laughter unfold around me (they got to feed various animals) - all backdropped with fantastic greenery & blue skies, which for me I totally love Samsung's 'colour-science'. And heck - I only today discovered that the 'Full' screen camera mode 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯'𝘵 use the full 108 pixel capability! So I'm getting to know it all over again as it creates larger files & captures masses more detail.
@@ArifGhostwriter If you opt to upgrade the S22 to the S23 ultra - the 200 pixel setting will give ya' 12240x16320 pixel images! Severe overkill for my use...but it gives lots of cropping latitude and I'm still testdriving the cameras at this point to see what they'll do. But yeah, many times I've been in that scenario of 'should I go back to the car for the DSLR...or just shoot with the smartphone'. Current tech with these new phones still blows my 58yr old mind, lol.
All of the things you didn't like about the functionality is all settings. As for accessing pro mode, simply drag it down to the mode selection bar, you can also set it as the main setting it opens to. Same for the lens complaint. But I should recommend to you the expert raw app. Shoots either 14 or 16 bit raw instead of 12! :)
What a video, Mr. Photographer! That was a treat. Samsung should see this video, actually showing what their own device is capable of. Btw, there's a 8K videography option too. Hope you'll add those along with a night, astro photography next time. Thank you.
I am glad it appeared in my recommendations! I appreciate the reviews that use smartphones as if they are used by the general public, but there aren't many of how photographers used to cameras with interchangeable lenses would use them. Your results are astonishing : O
What a lovely video. I'm getting my S23U, soon and you've provided a lot of inspiration to test the lenses. I'm also into astronomy so if you could do some night pics using the star settings that would be awesome!
It is a good phone but in hindsight I wish I got the base S23. The Ultra is too big and heavy. I don't use the S pen and I don't use the camera that much. My fault. Might trade it in for a base S24 next year. Should get a decent trade in value for it.
There is in fact a setting to make the camera reopen to the last used mode! You can also click and hold the "pro mode" icon in the more page and drag it down to the bottom row of modes. That way, you won't need to click on more each time you want to open a desired mode.
I have the s23u and came from the s21u. What people need to realise is that the cameras are great in good light. Using the telephoto in anything other than bright conditions gives poor images dues to the smaller aperture. Think it’s f4.6, and the phone usually tries a slow shutter like 1/50 which is a no no at focal lengths like 230mm Great video btw 😊
In pro mode you can set shutter speed by yourself, so... Also, phones have poor image quality in bad light not just because of the aperture, but also very small, high megapixel sensors which are really bad at high ISO.
Guys, sorry to say, but your problem is with an experience, not with the phone 😉 I use S22 Ultra and newly S23 Ultra for owl photography (phonescoping method with Kowa Prominar TSN-99A and prime 40x eyepiece TE-80XW) and I beat easily the big pro setups (like Sony A1 + 600mm f/4). And this is not the only one situation, where phone with scope is better than any classic camera.
I'm having the S22 Ultra, and I've been using this phone so much in my travels due to wet weather, and cause it's just so much quicker. The results have been amazing!
Your voice is so calming and you have a warm personality. The video is amazing too, all calming vibes. I just bought this phone today. Can't wait to start using it! Thank you!! Subscribed!!❤
Note that sometimes at 10x you will still be using the 3x lens, there is an AI lens switching setting automatically turned on. If you are too close for example it will not switch to 10x.
When people ask me why I love the S23 Ultra camera, I'll show them this video ❤ 2 tips: 1. You can change the settings to keep the camera modes you want. 2. The new One UI 6 update with the Expert RAW has brought an ND filter (software based). 😀
Yeah, 1.) There's an option in the Settings to be kept across ending and restarting the app: in the app settings, open "Settings to keep" and configure the settings to be kept as you like. 2.) When you said you had to use 2sec timer so that you can avoid the shaken shots, For that thing you're having the S-Pen!
Bro apart from the phone camera review, I just want to tell you the whole vibe of the video was so soothing. Your production quality is mad respectable.
There is a "Settings to keep" in the camera settings, you can open the first one. Then, in the professional mode, if you want to automatically reset the current parameters, you can slide the setting column to the right, and there is a "reset" button on the far left, click it to reset.
I am so grateful that you made a video based on S23, since am Interested in S23, this came out to be UA-cam suggested video to me and that's how I got to know your channel, you have some great videos. OMG. I' totally blown away by this video. Both photos and videos from S23 Ultra turned out awesome. It's like very different camera output of the nature photography and videography. I'm truly impressed. Keep posting more. Thanks
In the camera setting, there's a setting call "Setting to Keep"... it will remember what camera mode you last used. So you don't have to switch to Pro mode everytime it restarts. Nice VIdeo!
Thanks for a great and very detailed video👍 I've had my Galaxy S23 Ultra for 10 days now, and I'm blown away! The camera - especially the video features - has really improved since the Galaxy S22 Ultra👌
Longer lenses produces higher natural bokeh that's why some people prefer telephoto lenses over main lenses. Also there's no image distortion with telephoto

Thank you very much for the video and for finally showing how the 10x zoom can be used in a useful way. It makes it quite hard for me to resist😀 Regarding keeping your settings: changing between the lenses restores the last setting from that lens. You could argue in both ways: in some use-cases you appreciate it, in some others no. Samsung is a fan of maximum flexibility. But you don’t like it and here is a at least a partial solution for you. Let us look at different levels of settings. The very detailed level: in Expert raw you can change your settings and save them by giving it a name. You could save multiple setting combinations and restore them by simply tapping on them. Unfortunately for you, Samsung allows for each lens its own set of saved settings. So, again it offers the maximum flexibility. I.e., if you wanted to always combine the same ISO and shutter speed, you would need to save the same setting for each lens separately. Settings to be kept across ending and restarting the app: in the app settings, open “Settings to keep” and configure the settings to be kept as you like. Do not allow the app to be terminated (killed): in app switcher (recent apps), tap on the context menu of the camera app or Expert raw app and select “Keep open”. This will prevent the app from being terminated. This means independent of how often you change between apps and independent of the number of open apps, the camera app will be kept open in memory. You would always be back in the same screen and with the same settings where you have been before changing to another app, even after days.
I've realised one thing that when taking zoom photos, always flip your phone upside down for more clarity, I don't know how but the image comes out more crispier and crystal

Great video! Your pictures are beautiful & inspiring! Now I need to go outside and take nature shots with the zoom. The only thing I really used it for on the S22 Ultra was concerts. Those pics & vids came out amazing. My friend had an iphone & hers didn't. I didn't know I needed that kind of zoom until then. Thanks for the inspiration.
I am impressed how beautiful pictures you can take with it! But, as you say, smartphones will never be able to surpass the level of cameras, whether for film or photography.
I've been photographing for 18 years both as hobbyist and a professional and would have agreed to this until the recent AI revolution. But now I'm not so sure anymore if this will actually be the case in the long term. It's true that smartphones cannot beat the physics, but with good enough AI you can basically reimagine information out of thin air. Once AI tech improves further and smartphones can use various AI tricks on the fly to improve the quality, larger cameras will have hard time competing unless they incorporate the same tricks. And even if/when they do, can you tell the difference? It's already getting hard even with 4K monitors, unless you zoom in and pixel peep. It's a similar thing with graphics in games. At what point will the quality be so good, that improvements are just impossible to notice? It's hard to beat realism, after all. Large computers will always have more power, but if mobile chips get to that point where more power is pretty much impossible to see, does it matter that the large computer is technically better?
For a pixel peeper, it's fairly easy to see the difference between these and a 'real' camera. I have an S21 Ultra and I love having the 10x zoom and I have gotten many print worthy images with it. All that said, I prefer shooting with my DSLR rig, but I don't / can't carry that everywhere I go. My phone, on the other hand, is always with me and always ready to shoot. We live in an amazing time.
Agreed. I'm old enough to have used the very first phones with cameras and at that time, I would have never imagined some day we would have cameras this good on phones. I used a point-and-shoot back in those days and it wasn't exactly cheap either, still the smartphone cameras today blow the one I used out of the water. Heck, even my first two APS-C DSLR cameras would have hard time competing. Still can't beat my trusty A7, even though it is getting old that full frame sensor really does an amazing job. BUT just like you, I don't carry it around all the time. In fact, rarely nowadays. Having a camera this good in your pocket is simply amazing.
Nice review. I agree that even on 50mp the images are stunning. Before I used to have a dlsr to capture these photos. But now I think mobile photgraphy have evolved tremendously. About the how to retain the settings. Go to the Camera app + click on the settings button, on the upper lefr corner then click on "Settings to Keep" then choose "Camera mode" toggle the switch to on. Everytime you go and check the photos and switch back on to Camera app, it will retain the last settings you did. Works perfectly fine for me. Hope this helps..Cheers! I havs the S23 plus btw 🙂

I really miss doing photography, I sold my DSLR when I had an emergency last 2018 and kinda lost the passion for it. but maybe this camera phones would get me back into it especially how magnificent you worked around with it made me inspired again.
All photos are incredible...but those water motion blur were my fave. If you would have told me these were produced on a $3000 DSLR, I would have said, of course it was. The fact you can flip out this phone, play some Candy Crush, check emails and then make a phone call is unreal..
Just got the S23 Ultra a few days ago. It's just an amazing cellphone. Calling it a cellphone is a bit of an insult though. I honestly can't believe the power of this processor. My first Galaxy was the 3. And that's when I knew that the Samsung Galaxy was going to be my forever phone.
I'm new here, and i love this video. Im 9 months in with my s23 ultra, and i get hit and miss shots. Your video makes me want to keep learning this phones camera abilities.. Thank you❤
Great video! The main sensor is very impressive. Photos and videos from the phone feels a little too processed. There's too much sharpening and frame stacking artifacts like at 2:34. Wish you have used Pro mode more since the AI overlay makes nature look too artificial.
11:08 1) there is auto mode. One each for pix + vid 2) pro mode - one each for Pic and one for video In auto u can't dictate much. In pro mode u can dictate everything. Shutter speed Iso Focus points Etc 3) there are other modes as well. Eg directors / portrait / time lapse / etc

Thank you.
@samsung should watch this
Man those drone shots are sooooo good!!
So sick stuff with a phone.. Those forest video were super smooth and crisp. Nice test Olle 👌📸
thanks bro! :D
You'll love this phone. It's truly an amazing cellphone and well worth the money.
JimmyisPromo did one on camera shooting and a big astrophotography with which you can save pro setting presets
You get in expert raw star map that moves as you change direction so you can find constellations
Please can you get me one please
It is a good phone but in hindsight I wish I got the base S23. The Ultra is too big and heavy. I don't use the S pen and I don't use the camera that much. My fault. Might trade it in for a base S24 next year. Should get a decent trade in value for it.
There is in fact a setting to make the camera reopen to the last used mode! You can also click and hold the "pro mode" icon in the more page and drag it down to the bottom row of modes. That way, you won't need to click on more each time you want to open a desired mode.
I love your content bro. You deserve far more subscribers, and I hope it's coming your way.

Lovely Galaxy S23 ULTRA
I have the s23u and came from the s21u. What people need to realise is that the cameras are great in good light. Using the telephoto in anything other than bright conditions gives poor images dues to the smaller aperture. Think it’s f4.6, and the phone usually tries a slow shutter like 1/50 which is a no no at focal lengths like 230mm
Great video btw 😊
yeah, you could try with rule of dubles. not sure how it work on camera though
@@martintomas9220 Maybe you should direct us to where we can see your results?
How would you compare the s21u to s23u? (s21u user here).
As others have said, it's great to see someone using the camera and actually testing it with interesting subjects. I'd love to see a second part.
Luckily you can turn that off

When people ask me why I love the S23 Ultra camera, I'll show them this video ❤
2 tips:
1. You can change the settings to keep the camera modes you want.
2. The new One UI 6 update with the Expert RAW has brought an ND filter (software based). 😀
i bet
Yeah, 1.) There's an option in the Settings to be kept across ending and restarting the app: in the app settings, open "Settings to keep" and configure the settings to be kept as you like.
2.) When you said you had to use 2sec timer so that you can avoid the shaken shots, For that thing you're having the S-Pen!
But you can set multiple shoots and reset time in between....
Bro apart from the phone camera review, I just want to tell you the whole vibe of the video was so soothing. Your production quality is mad respectable.
Always loved your videos Nilsson. Please do a night photography review on this phone as well if you can :)
Finally and so excited to found a video about Samsung phone with serious photography. 🙏🏻 thank you
There is a "Settings to keep" in the camera settings, you can open the first one. Then, in the professional mode, if you want to automatically reset the current parameters, you can slide the setting column to the right, and there is a "reset" button on the far left, click it to reset.
@hembafanjoyterumbur9716 What should I do?
I'm so happy that I just bought It yesterday ❤
I am so grateful that you made a video based on S23, since am Interested in S23, this came out to be UA-cam suggested video to me and that's how I got to know your channel, you have some great videos. This concept of using phones and testing them as you did in this video is just wonderful. This would attract more people to your channel (especially the people who loves camera and photography) and all other content of yours will get uplifted too, you got a subscriber buddy. Great work, keep going ❤️.
OMG. I' totally blown away by this video. Both photos and videos from S23 Ultra turned out awesome. It's like very different camera output of the nature photography and videography. I'm truly impressed. Keep posting more. Thanks
The directing and editing of this video is just out of this world, very soothing :)
The way you edit your videos and the music choices really makes the videos feel like proffessionel TV shows, you've earned a sub!
Thank you so much for saying that! Appreciate it! :D
In the camera setting, there's a setting call "Setting to Keep"... it will remember what camera mode you last used. So you don't have to switch to Pro mode everytime it restarts. Nice VIdeo!
Your video is nothing short of a nice documentary. Keep it up, bro!
Thanks for a great and very detailed video👍 I've had my Galaxy S23 Ultra for 10 days now, and I'm blown away! The camera - especially the video features - has really improved since the Galaxy S22 Ultra👌
A camera on a phone is only great when you know how to use it and you just proved that fact. Beautiful. Tq
the natural Bokeh coming from that 10x lens is just insane, cant believe its from a smartphone ⚡
I cant believe it too. 😂
Yeah sure… natural😂
Longer lenses produces higher natural bokeh that's why some people prefer telephoto lenses over main lenses. Also there's no image distortion with telephoto
Oh... This phone can actually do some amazing work. Good job bro! Nice video!
This is the first time I stumbled upon your channel. Great content man. All the best
Appreciate it man!
As a tech lover guy most the times I spend on UA-cam to these kinda tech contents, but most of the creators are boring . Like they all got Fancy studio and stuffs. Here I found you different, a tech video in the nature.this is great .keep it up and best wishes from Bangladesh 🇧🇩

Next level photography, videography, cinematography kudos man
Thank you very much for the video and for finally showing how the 10x zoom can be used in a useful way. It makes it quite hard for me to resist😀
Regarding keeping your settings: changing between the lenses restores the last setting from that lens.
Thank you so much for the informative comment! Appreciate it so much!
Cheers mate!
Dude wow
I've realised one thing that when taking zoom photos, always flip your phone upside down for more clarity, I don't know how but the image comes out more crispier and crystal

Great video! Your pictures are beautiful & inspiring! Now I need to go outside and take nature shots with the zoom. The only thing I really used it for on the S22 Ultra was concerts. Those pics & vids came out amazing. My friend had an iphone & hers didn't. I didn't know I needed that kind of zoom until then. Thanks for the inspiration.
So calming, I know how much efforts goes into making such high quality videos. You got yourself a fan 🤝
Landscape shots are definitely the best! Bird shots are alright. I guess it’s pretty difficult using the x100 zoom with a phone.
what great photos, blows my mind what some people can do with a camera
I am impressed how beautiful pictures you can take with it! But, as you say, smartphones will never be able to surpass the level of cameras, whether for film or photography.
Can't beat physics
I think you unleashed the full potential of this camera performance in a perfect manner
You live in an utterly GORGEOUS place! You have single-handedly convinced me to pick up the Ultra!!

Wow, beautiful! The camera on S23 is brilliant!
The best video👍🏻💯
Amazing! Thank you for showing us what S23 is capable of
There's an option to retain the last used camera mode. It's called "settings to keep".
All photos are incredible...but those water motion blur were my fave. If you would have told me these were produced on a $3000 DSLR, I would have said, of course it was. The fact you can flip out this phone, play some Candy Crush, check emails and then make a phone call is unreal..

Great video! The main sensor is very impressive. Photos and videos from the phone feels a little too processed. There's too much sharpening and frame stacking artifacts like at 2:34. Wish you have used Pro mode more since the AI overlay makes nature look too artificial.
all use frame stacking and binned sensors, for quality you buy a full frame with proper glass

I don't get the hype... the footage you shared looked overprocessed. There's way too much sharpening and the bokeh is a mess. Even your Go Pro captured better, cleaner footage.
