So very true, and on a side note. Anyone who likes and is interested in society, groups within society, and individuals being part of a group and society here is the best book written by a self-educated man. Eric Hoffer "The True Believer: Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements"
      It's fantastic!

Seeing some comments how they wish Carlin was here to witness how the world has turned. But you know what? Honestly, nothing has changed since he was still alive. Literally nothing. His comments are timeless. They still apply to today’s issues. It’s almost scary how little change we’ve made over the years since this brilliant man was around. If you want to know how George feels about today’s issues, just watch his content and you’ll know exactly how he’d feel.

      > No, there's no God, but there might be some sort of an organizing intelligence, and I think to understand it is way beyond our ability. It's certainly not a judgmental entity.
The way he spoke and thought about the world often sounded like a dispassionate version of eastern theological ideas like Atman or the idea of it being a great big show for our entertainment. Plus the acid and mescaline he took points that way too.

Fascinsted to hear him specify wanting to do a more Broadway style one-man show with autobiographical character work for his "next" show. As of this interview, he had just done his slam dunk 1996 HBO special "Back In Town". His next was 1999's "You Are All Diseased," which did not exercise any of these changes in format or candor. In 1997, George's wife (of 35 years) died, and he met Sally Wade, waited a year to start dating, then married her in '98.
Such big changes in his private life understandably interrupted jos "Broadway" dreams, but we see George's personally informed character work as a Catholic priest in 1999's Dogma.
Let us pause to appreciate George's power with words, but also his personal humanity.

A true genius way beyond his time and who simply, clearly and completely told the truth about his own audience by openly insulting them all without them even realizing it because they never even thought that he would or could directly talk about them at anytime in such a truthful, honest, brutal and very comedic way and yet he talked about them all, all of the time.

Political figures used to get tarred and feathered and run out of town when they screwed their people but we let them make deals out of Jan 6th, that just gives them more security. Plus we have the information on what's going on daily and do NOTHING! You can't gather enough people who care to act because it doesn't involve their phone..
