The proper term for his style is "humorist". He was a humorist. He talked about real non-fiction events and philosophies, but just made it all funny. A comedian usually just makes everything or most things up.

no swearing? shitski... I better go someplace else. . my dad never cursed...27 years in the army...amazing... and I learned early on that cursing had to be done elsewhere... riding in my brother's sports car, no top... moving his stuff from his college dorm to new digs in Washington DC... raining to beat the band... and I found out I wasn't the only one doing it elsewhere...I learned some new words that day..
however... if George Carlin can do it... so can I....

Today, George Carlin would be 88 years old. Though there have been many really great comedians, none that did it like him. He is the greatest comedian of all time ! I remember watching him as a 10-12 year old child in the early 1960's on the Steve Allen Show. Later in the 60's, he was a star on the Ed Sullivan Show with more appearances then anyone. In the 70's, I had the true pleasure of seeing him live in Las Vegas. By then, my mother thought he was filthy, so my dad would watch him late at night on HBO with the volume very low and we'd try to keep our laughter down. He was great whether his act was clean or off color. By then, the so called "bad words" he used were not as shocking to the 70's generation. He was a genius with comedy, but a very serious man off stage. His perspectives on many subjects really hit the lifestyle of the 1970's, and mostly have come true. He could "undress" his audience as soon as he came on stage and from that point forward he had you in the palm of his hand ! There will never be another George Carlin, but I wish there were !!

Who else is watching the amazing and ohh so talented comedian Carlin during this COVID lockdown? Being a boomer born in '47 I am of his time and was always blown away by his rapid fire delivery and wonderfully on target humor. Listening to this talk I am amazed at how (seemingly) easily and quickly he moves through his talk with apparently no notes, drawn completely from memory. Imagine giving a talk like this with the perfectly rehearsed ease he demonstrated. Wow!

If anyone has read anything about George or watched an interview with him, he has mentioned many times that his mother was his greatest influence of appreciating the effective use of the English language, despite the two having had a strained relationship.
His way of speaking was both versatile, and deeply intelligent, as he was a philosophical thinker.

THAT IS WHY THE CIA KILLED HIM. GEORGE WAS VERY PHYSICALLY FIT AND HEALTHY. UNFORTUNATELY HE UPSET SOME OF THE CIA CLOWNS WHO MURDERED GEORGE WAY BEFORE HIS TIME. GEORGE WAS WAKING THE CLUELESS SHEEPLE AND WOULD HAVE LIVE A LONG HEALTHY LIFE IF NOT FOR THE CRIMINAL CIA/FBI THUGS. GEORGE WOULD HAVE STILL BEEN WITH US TODAY AND HE WOULD HAVE BEEN INCREDIBLE TO THE END.
IT IS WAY PAST TIME FOR THE FBI AND THE CIA TO BE ABOLISHED. THEY ARE SO DAMN CORRUPT THAT ALL PAST AND PRESENT EMPLOYEES OF THESE TREASONOUS AGENCIES WHO ARE NOT HUNG OR GIVEN THE GUILLOTINE RIDE FOR THEIR TREASONOUS ACTIVITIES, MUST BE BANNED FROM ANY AND ALL GOVERNMENT JOBS FOR LIFE.
ALL CIA AND FBI EMPLOYEES ARE THE ABSOLUTE SCUM OF THE EARTH AND MUST BE TREATED AS SUCH. IT IS TIME TO WAKE UP BOYS AND GIRLS! THE CRIMINALS WITHIN OUR CORRUPT TO THE CORE GOVERNMENT MUST BE EXECUTED IMMEDIATELY! NO EXCEPTIONS AND NO MERCY WHATSOEVER!
