This is an affiliate link. Feel free to use it or don't. There's no extra cost to you. It simply helps me purchase more product to review for the channel.
Also, it's important to mention, an affiliate link is NOT a sponsored link. I paid for this product 100% with my own money and reviewed it independently. I have never received any financial compensation from manufacturers for reviews. Companies never know that I'm reviewing their products before a video gets published.
It makes no difference to me whether I love or hate the product, I simply tell you my candid opinion.
So while I can receive commissions for referring sales to products, if you end up being disappointed with my recommendation and don’t come back to the channel, I lose my audience trust. This is why I always set a very high standard for my review process, and constantly strive to provide the best, most honest, and most helpful information.
I Love The Way YOU Broke It Down Nice Job, Thank YOU!!!
That means a lot and is very motivating, thank you 🙌
Instant sub. Amazing quality breakdown of everything. I’d appreciate if you could review there other products like there self proclaimed EAA’s or other sups.
Thank you, I really appreciate that. I'm working on reviewing 3 of their pre-workouts right now. Should be up on the channel in the next 4-6 weeks.
Just wanted to follow up as I know you were keen on some of their other products. Here are their 3 pre workouts reviewed:

Working on videos for these now! But let me know if you have any questions.
Any other supplements from Transparent Labs you're interested in?
Hey, I want to say you do excellent reviews! You break everything down to important context very quickly, and knowing that people want to make healthier choices without any added junk in the ingredients. I want to know if you're able to review earth fed muscle please. They're also a “all-organic” Company I’ll like to see/hear how much protein they pack per serving. I'm sure everyone else would be curious. Thank you for your phenomenal services!
Really appreciate you saying that. Means a lot. I've never heard of Earth Fed Muscle before, but happy to review it! It'll take a couple months to get it up on the channel though because after buying it, using it for a couple weeks, reviewing it, and putting together the video, that's how long it takes. Looks like a great company already though.
They’re a “small company,” but they have grown over the years. Many thanks, and I’m sure many others will continue to appreciate your reviews.
Thanks, again. Still have Earth Fed Muscle on the list. @@DG-pj2jg
Great review. I buy this, Thorne, and Raw Nutrition, whatever I can find cheapest of the 3 when I need some. It’s hard to find a good protein. Those 3 despite the cost do not even compare to others because of all the crap that’s in the others. Biggest issues are fucking seed oils like vegetable, canola, sunflower, etc. Those do not belong anywhere near your diet or a supplement you’re using for recovery. Many brands put shit like fructose corn syrup or sucralose in there, despite that lactose is sugar making it already sweet and there’s really no need. At least with the aforementioned brands it’s stevia. Soy doesn’t belong anywhere in a whey protein powder either. I don’t really care if it tastes bland, so long as it’s clear of all that shit.
I'm actually in the process of reviewing Thorne! But ya, I agree. I mention all of the ingredients of each whey protein I test in the article write-up (it would be boring to cover all that stuff in a video), But I don't mind paying slightly more for a product that doesn't use cheap fillers, sweeteners, dyes, oils, etc. And to be fair, Transparent Labs isn't even that expensive. It comes in right around the average cost of whey protein.
lol another tiktoker seed oil is bad
I find your videos extremely helpful. Myself I have been comparing transparent labs vs 1st phorm. Curious what your feedback is.
Really appreciate that. I don't have a 1st phorm review done, so I can't speak to it (yet). But I have reviews for 21 other protein powders and Transparent Labs is a top pick for many use cases.
I would love to see this vs isopure!
I've actually had other people request an isopure review too. I'll add it to my list!
I can't justify that cost. I've always done 100-200g whey on top of my meals for almost 2 decades. It's insane how expensive isolate has gotten. I wouldnt be able to afford even 3 scoops a day with my meals. Im currently doing fairlife as the cheapest alternative i've found. May not be grass fed, but it's the most affordable option i've found so far since the whey pandemic about 4$ for 78g of protein. Honestly the increase in prices of whey was the worst part of the whole pandemic. Retailers saw they could gouge prices and still make sales, so they probably won't be returning to lower prices that were affordable. It used to be insane to spend even 10$ a pound for whey isolate. Often times sales would give you 5-7$ a pound of whey. It's ridiculous to see how things have changed. It genuinely saddens me.
Funny you say this. I'm just about to publish a blog on "why protein powder is so expensive now". I got access to historical data from manufacturers, and it's insane how expensive it is now (since covid). Industry experts don't think it's coming down in 2024 either.
Isomass review please 🙏🏾
good video 🙌🏽
Thank you, that means a lot.
My favorite part is the taste. Even with just water I’m not trying to choke it down. And with milk I actually enjoy it
I 100% agree
The stevia they put in just about all their products kill's it for me. The stevia aftertaste is just too much unless you camouflage the taste with something else.
Some people purposely look for whey proteins that are sweetened with stevia though. I actually just answered a comment on another video that asked my opinion of the best stevia-sweetened protein powders. These people usually find artificial sweeteners upset their stomachs and are looking for something more 'natural'. So there is a use case for using stevia, and Transparent Labs is filling that need. However, if you and others don't like the aftertaste of stevia, then Transparent Labs is definitely not the pick because they only sweeten with stevia. Some whey proteins use a combination of stevia + other artificial sweetener, so the aftertaste is not as strong in those products. If you're interested in those kinds of whey proteins that use a combo of sweetner, then check out Ascent, Optimum Nutrition, or Legion. There are videos of each of them on the channel.
@@feast_goodnailed it - I can’t do artificial sweeteners- they KILL my stomach and so unhealthy anyways
Put it in the blender with some fruits. Problem solved.
Buy unflavored
Surprised this doesn’t have more views. Gym bros got their heads in the ground
Thanks, man 🙌
I'm going with the myprotein unflavored one.I just hate whole kind of sweetners😊
I've actually reviewed MyProtein on the channel (ua-cam.com/video/_VNqAhW-hq4/v-deo.html). I thought it was a great pick, too. In terms of the difference in how the products are sweetened, Transparent Labs uses stevia and MyProtein uses sucralose and acesulfame-potassium. Some people purposely look for products with stevia, and others purposely look for products that DON'T use stevia. The choice is up to the consumer.
I buy mine unflavored. It really is unflavored and I don’t have to worry about added ingredients that I don’t need. This protein completely dissolves with little effort.
I agree with this 100%. No clumps, no chalkiness.
Have you reviewed jay cutlers whey?
Not yet, should I?
@@feast_good yes let us know what you think
@@richrappa7906 Will add it to the list
Too bad they use "natural flavors" which kinda kills their brand of being "transparent". Sure, "natural flavors" must start with a plant or animal product, but then the chemists can add artificial ingredients from there. "Natural flavors" are thus some of the most non-transparent chemicals out there. I will stick with my Levels grass fed whey concentrate protein as they truly have all natural ingredients even though protein concentrate has a few less grams of protein than an isolate. I'd rather put natural stuff in my body. Thanks for making the video.
Which brand of protein are you currently taking?
As mentioned above, I will stick with Levels grass fed whey concentrate. Levels is actually transparent in their ingredients.
@@realitycheck469 Oh sorry, I somehow missed you saying that you take Levels. I've never tried that protein. Sounds like I need to do a review though 🙂
There’s one without any flavors just the protein
@@harambetheway1341 You're 100% right
What is “natural flavors”?
Natural flavors” is a term used to describe compounds that enhance the flavors of food or supplements. The original source of a natural flavor must be an animal or plant source, but after that, it’s created in a lab by food chemists called "flavorists". Many labs that create natural flavors don’t disclose everything that goes into them.
This is to prevent competitors (or even the brands that buy natural flavors from a lab) from stealing exact formulations and taking them elsewhere.
Exactly
I bought ths and used for 5 days and ever single day I feel headache.. I'm not to continue ths...stopped yesterday but still have headache
I've read that some people can get headaches from stevia. While rare, it does happen, and it's likely the culprit. In the article, I did mention folks who shouldn't use Transparent Labs Whey Protein and one of the use cases was "Someone sensitive to stevia: If you are part of the population who suffers from stevia headaches or gets a strong bitter taste from stevia, then the appeal of using no artificial sweeteners might not be a net positive for you." Here's the full article: feastgood.com/transparent-labs-whey-protein-review/. But I would speak to your doctor about this to investigate it further. Sorry that it didn't work out with you.
@feast_good yes I saw your video 3 times.... thank you for helping...

Yes.
you gotta try Raw Organic Whey’s grass fed protein powder
Cool, I just added it to my list. I'll make sure to test it in the next couple of months. Stay tuned! What do you like about it though?
I prefer NAKED Grass Fed Unsweetened protein powder! Just one ingredient!!
Naked Nutrition definitely has a time and place in many people's supplement cupboard. I reviewed it as well: ua-cam.com/video/eqwAEXhvmTY/v-deo.html
Well I ordered a tub from their site and it will arrive to Europe in 3 weeks probably 😅
Worth it 🤟
Did you manage to get your hands on it? How did you like it?
@feast_good yes I had to deal with customs/vat but eventually, I got it. Quality is great, no stomach issues and mixability is fine, vanilla flavour is tasty.
@@MaDFroG88 That's great to hear 🙌
Is it clod pressed?
Sorry, I don't know what you're asking.
So is this taken right after working out?
Yup, it's a great post-workout option. I should mention that I just posted a video reviewing EVERY flavor of Transparent Labs protein. So if you're deciding between flavors, check out that video here: ua-cam.com/video/4Ll1r9PBoQM/v-deo.html
What are “natural flavors”, and how is that “transparent”?
We've written about this before on the website, here's a snippet about natural flavors from one of our articles:
“Natural flavors” is a term used to describe compounds that enhance the flavors of food or supplements. The original source of a natural flavor must be an animal or plant source, but after that, it’s created in a lab by food chemists called flavorists. Many labs that create natural flavors don’t disclose everything that goes into them.
This is to prevent competitors (or even the brands that buy natural flavors from a lab) from stealing exact formulations and taking them elsewhere.
Furthermore, companies aren’t required to disclose everything in natural flavors because the FDA doesn’t regulate them.
That said, natural flavors are safe for most people, and many protein powders contain them (source: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6062396/).
I was just looking at this but don't understand why it clearly says no added sugars but when you look under ingredients it has stevia. Can anyone share their experience. Just concerned about stevia.
It comes from a plant 🌱!!🤦🏾♂️
There's a whole range of ways companies report on sugars/sweeteners on their product labels. I actually just published an article on the Best Whey Proteins With Stevia. In that article, I talk about the differences between "non nutritive" and "nutritive" sweeteners and where stevia fits into the mix. Read that portion of the article if you're interested: feastgood.com/best-protein-powder-with-stevia/. Essentially, Stevia is a natural non-nutritive sweetener. There is some processing involved to turn it from a plant to a powder. But it it 100% natural and contains no calories. Sugar, on the other hand, is a nutritive sweetener, which means it contains calories.
I have it only thing ima say is it makes a crap load of foam and thats just shaking it in a regular shaker idk if i got a defective or what i havent seen anyone else say this but its like pure foam and not mostly liquid like all proteins ive had are really weird
@@davisneckmills910 Hmm, this didn't happen for me, but it could be flavor dependant. One of the writers for FeastGood wrote a really good article on why your protein shake can get foamy and what to do about it (feastgood.com/why-is-my-protein-shake-foamy/)
I mean technically it isnt sugar so 🤷♂️
Natural flavors basically is artificial flavors..so hard to find a good quality protein.
Ya, most products have "natural flavors", unless you go with an unflavored version and flavor it yourself. Here are some options from an article we just published: feastgood.com/best-unflavored-protein-powder/
How come ?
@@HaimGreen How come what?
@@ptannous27 natural flavors = artificial flavors ?
@@HaimGreen So natural flavors are actually chemically enhanced compounds. There is nothing natural about them. When it says “natural flavors” there could be over 100 different chemicals in that product.
I’d buy it if I can find a BPA Content
Let me inquire and get back to you.
@@feast_goodthanks! It was noticeably absent from their reports and a makor problem as reported by the clean label project.
So I reached out to my contact at Transparent Labs and they said "All our packaging is made from HDPE plastic, which is completely BPA-free!" Let me know if that answers your question.

No amino acids?????
What do you mean? Transparent Labs has a complete amino acid profile.
@@feast_good yeah I know you're right but it's not showing on the label compared to other protein products
@@cutthacheque Ahhh, I see what you mean. You're right, some companies show the breakdown, others don't.
@@feast_good yeah man..... it would be cool to see how much we're getting from the amino acids
This one has 360 sodium per dose.
That's not necessarily a bad thing at all. Are you looking for lower sodium? The French Vanilla flavor has 180mg. Most flavors are around 230mg, which is right around the average sodium per scoop for whey protein (across every brand).
Nutrabio is more pure
What do you mean by "more pure"?
@@feast_good the protein is over 90% pure breaking bad Heisenberg quality…. musclefeast ,Nutrabio,Agn roots, are the top quality protein even blue star nature cuticles…..
But natural flavors isn’t good
The best bet is to go with an unflavored option if you want to avoid "natural flavors". Transparent Labs doesn't have this option, but you could consider Bulk Supplements, which I have a review coming out for in the next couple of weeks.
Yeah, forget about them. Transparent Labs hasn't been answering emails or their phones for the past 36 hours. Not so "Transparent" after all.
Interesting. I definitely didn't experience that. Not sure if your issue was related to shipping, but they recently opened a second shipping warehouse to increase shipping times, and I think there are some kinks working out the process for that. But when it comes to customer service, I've been very pleased on my end. Hopefully you got your issue resolved!
I have emailed them a few times in the last few weeks and they respond within 48 hours. Never left me hanging.
@@curtiscanady7962 Thanks for sharing this Curtis. I think more people sharing their experience provides a more well-rounded view of one product/brand that goes beyond just me testing the product.
Their answer and responding. You just can’t see it or hear them #thats transparent 😂😂
@@TB109. What do you mean?
Stupid expensive and not worth it in my opinion
Why don't you think it's worth it? What do you value in a whey protein?
dude its $50.... its not expensive at all
So here's the thing, I took a sample of the 50 most popular protein powders on the market in December 2022 and found that the average cost of whey protein is $1.34 per serving. Transparent Labs Grass Fed Whey is $2 per serving, so comparatively it's one of the most expensive whey proteins on the market. The thumbnail for this video is "I tried the most expensive protein on the market", which is now incorrect. After publishing this video I found one other protein that's more expensive. But safe to say it's still an expensive whey protein. You can bring the cost down to $1.70 per serving if you use Transparent Labs "Subscribe and Save" feature, but I don't do any of my calculations based on promos or deals. I also want to be clear, I think this protein is 100% worth the extra cost, and it's why I still mention it in a lot in other videos.
@@feast_good you can't do it at serving level, that is not an equal comparison, you need to price it per gram of protein.
@@pearlharbor8065 I understand what you're saying. The easiest way to do this though is based on per serving. It's quick back-of-the-napkin math to create a baseline. This is because 1) the majority of protein servings are between 21-25g. That's the standard range for almost all whey proteins. There aren't very many companies that fall outside this range, at least the ones that I'm reviewing on this channel. Maybe it would make sense to do per gram if we saw wildly different serving sizes, but we just don't see that. 2) even within a single brand there are variations between flavors. So if you really wanted to be specific by using grams you'd have to calculate a per gram cost for EACH flavor for EACH whey protein. Honestly, that is just too much work for something that won't generate significantly different results. If you go ahead and do the calculation based on a per gram per flavor formula, you will come to many of the same conclusions, i.e. that Transparent Labs is still well above the average, and verging on one of the most expensive brands on the market. As of right now, I don't know of any other UA-cam creator who has gone even as far as I did in trying to calculate some sort of 'average cost' for whey protein. Even if you Google something like "Cheapest Whey Proteins", all websites use a "per serving" formula, not per gram, and no website, tells you the average cost. They just say "this is $0.80 per serving" without giving any reference points whatsoever. So for our purpose, the average is $1.34 per serving. Is it perfect? No. But it allows for quick comparison.
@feast_good I get what you're saying but I work in accounting so numbers matter. Actually, Jeff Cavalier did a video on per gram vs per serving...not that I like to throw his name around a lot but none the less. Also, regarding the "natural flavor" , Transparent Labs told me (for example) the Vanilla is flavored using vanilla beans. Thanks for the quick reply and keep up the good work!
@@pearlharbor8065 Understood, and thank you 🤗
