I'm sorry but I refuse to let any job "destroy" my life...life is too short. That being said I know it's much easier said than done so I do believe it is worth discussing the mental and emotional effects of working a high demand "crazy" job. Maybe the information will encourage those suffering to leave or find better solutions for their health sake. IMO

I was happy to hear him mention loneliness as something treated by cannabis. I am someone who lives rural live and was widowed early and never remarried; I've battled more with bouts of loneliness versus depression or anxiety. I like to smoke before doing farm chores so I don't go into negative thought loops.

I've used cannabis for 30 years now and I can honestly say that with cannabis, the rule is - less is more. Using it in excess leads to problems, so I can recommend it to anyone IF... you never combine it with other drugs such as alcohol in particular. Like everything in nature, if it's used in moderation, then you receive the benefits. If you intend to use it regularly, then I would also recommend that you keep to a regular exercise program. It can really help you with your motivation and endurance if you play sport.
Although I have used it for so long, I went for a check up recently and my lungs and heart were just fine thanks. I have experienced no other deleterious side effects at all and have just appreciated life more - so as long as it's properly regulated and kids aren't allowed to use it, then I can't see what all the fuss is about.
Anti-legalization "experts" are usually from the medical fraternity who don't want to sell less prescription poison, or stiff necked fuddy duddies who have never used it themselves before.

I also never started until around 19, which is still too early imo but it's not the worst. That said I knew for a long time I was self medicating to slow and calm my mind and figured I had adhd but life was going okay for awhile. I also feel like those who smoked at an early age do not realize what weed actually does. Your already ignorant at a young age. What’s the point of opening up new pathways when your sober self isn’t even at the point of reasoning that an adult has. Your so emotional and hormones are insane, which is why I can see why a lot of people who smoked at a young age for a long time are ignorant.
I promise if you’ve asked a bunch of potheads you never met before what’s in weed, what is THC, what does it do to your brain? What is delta 8 and what are cannaboid receptors. Not one of them would know the answer. They just know it makes the calm or gives them more energy. It’s much more then that for me. And I believe you need to be knowledgeable when consuming such a substance.
Weed is not bad. I smoke a bowl or two a day and vape it hourly. Weed is life changing, but it should not be consumed by kids. Maybe once or twice, but you should be a kid at 13/14. It’s too young to grow up because weed will push you out of the zone you would be in at that age.

Great episode. I was a chronic daily user for 25 years. I recently quit cold turkey 4 months ago and it was fairly easy. Just a few urges in the first few days usually triggered by routines. As someone who has anxiety I feel so much better. I am more engaged in life socially and feel more at ease. I wish that I would have tried this so much earlier. I did have some at a concert in August. And it was fun and didn’t have any urges the next day. I think I has cannabis use disorder. And was dependent on it for escape or to cope with anxiety. It turns out that I didn’t need it and it might have been causing me to be more paranoid. Just my perspective. I recently have been talking with a lot of people who are candidly sharing their quitting weed stories. So I’m not the only one.

Cannabis Nurse here! It’s important to note that Cannabis Use Disorder (CUD) is rare and generally much lower than other drugs. In fact, cannabis has shown to help with other addictions.
The way it was presented in this video it made seem that cannabis CUD was significantly higher than it really is and its a problem….when its 10% of chance…
Also, when comes to withdraws, most people don’t have to worry about titrating their cannabis dose… Cannabis users can experience withdrawals without having CUD this important for people to know (which is different from say alcohol, when someone suddenly stops drinking and experience withdrawals it’s bc they are addicted).
This video was somewhat helpful, but seemed one sided….

A better way would be to repeal the federal ban on marijuana by descheduling the drug instead of merely moving it to a different, somewhat less illegal category.
That reform, which two-thirds of Americans support, would simultaneously address all the other hazards caused by the conflict between federal prohibition and state marijuana laws, including the laws that allow recreational as well as medical use in 23 states. Marijuana then would have the same status as alcohol and tobacco, widely used recreational intoxicants that are not considered "controlled" substances at all.

I used to live with my mom and only moved out because I wanted to keep smoking without having someone on my back. It came a point in my life were I looked at myself and was tired of living like that. Ones I decided to stop I started working in construction, I started actually dressing better and felt better than ever. Sadly my friends who couldn’t stop smoking MJ to this day are still smoking. Two of my closest friends live on their own in a mobile home with no girlfriends or kids and they’ve been like that for around 20 years now. One went through a depression and eventually I convinced him to stop and start with me in my job and he is happier than ever and he even became my daughters father in law. Cannabis has been very helpful for me after acquiring disabling injuries in an automobile accident. I’ve been working with a very small family of breeders who collectively have over 100 years of experience growing cannabis. We grow organically, and we breed for very markers that give us more of a 50/50 middle of the road, versatile medicine. I will agree that smoking it does make me have more of a smoker’s cough. What I’ve found though, is that’s what happens when you smoke it fast and hot. I enjoy the flavor and I’ve found that by smoking my doobies very slowly, taking small micro-hits, I taste more of the terpenes and that produces a different effect than when I would smoke it to get a big hit, or to make me cough. I also believe that we’ve got to respect the herb, number one. It holds so much within itself that can help us reconnect with the earth, our planet, the planet that gives us life. Respect yourself and respect your herb.

In the largest longitudinal examination of marijuana use and IQ change, using two samples to replicate results and a genetically informative design, we find little evidence to suggest that adolescent marijuana use has a direct effect on intellectual decline. Although marijuana users showed greater decline than nonusers in areas of Gc, the presence of baseline differences before marijuana involvement, the lack of a dose-response relationship, and an absence of meaningful differences between discordant siblings lead us to conclude that the deficits observed in marijuana users are attributable to confounding factors that influence both substance initiation and IQ rather than a neurotoxic effect of marijuana.

I've never really known the facts, but it always seemed obvious that the myths about cannabis weren't entirely true. It felt like my peers were justifying bad habits so I was always the guy who would say "nah. Don't lie to yourselves gents. Weed is probably bad in some way, so just understand that and be content what you getting yourself into." I think this mindset is why I've never been addicted to it and it's why I still smoke it but very little of it because I know my dosage (2-4 pulls of a pencil joint). So yes, it takes me a couple of days to finish a single joint and that's perfectly fine. I can't for the days I live alone or with people who are comfortable with me making edibles out of it because I don't really enjoy the smoking aspect of it

Whilst cannabis has been incredibly beneficial to me, it's often rather disconcerting to the atmosphere when people try to 'catch up' on a recreational basis and they begin to exhibit negative effects.
Just because it makes you feel good doesn't mean it's an angelic substance with no fault, there are definite negatives that need to be addressed more (with some mentioned in this video) - this is coming from someone who has consumed up to 3g every day for several years now.
Be safe out there, and practise responsible usage. Understand yourself as an individual and never consider partaking as a competitive thing.

I literally have had two back surgeries and have ptsd and clinical depression and anxiety. In the morning, I hurt so bad all over because of joint pain. I cannot function in the morning until I smoke. After about 20 minutes, the anti inflammatory properties of cannabis loosens my muscles, therefor relieving my pain. Sleeping is similar. Cannabis only helps me sleep insofar as it does the same thing to me physically at night, allowing me to relax and therefor sleep. I've stopped 2 anti depressants after finding cannabis. There is no pill that combats ptsd quite like cannabis. Sometimes I get chest pain but my blood pressure does not go up. I prefer the vape carts. Doesn't smell like an ashtray.
