- A short weather window is about to close so Barry takes the Lynsey B out to check on the ten fleets that are soaking in deep water and see how they are fishing. However with the wind picking up and the tide in the opposite direction it is far from plain sailing out on the North Sea.

Well even though a black cat crossed your path, it didn't seem to bother you any! Loved seeing that beautiful octopus. Glad you could put it back, even tho it was clinging onto you like velcro. Great to see you back out again.

Bloody octopus: I used to deckie for a mate on the crays down here and he had a petrol driven winch, when an occy came up he would grab it out, turn the bugger inside out and slam it on to the red hot exhaust pipe, all the time screaming I hate you feckin bastards….I never felt very comfortable with it, but I guess he saw them as completion for his crays, an octopus could clean up a lot of crays in the pot.

Talking about Minke Whales, My Brother in law and I were just off Souter Lighthouse, which is South of the River Tyne. I had an Angling Boat. A Minke surfaced about 30 yards from us, I could not believe it, a once in a Lifetime experience for me. Sadly next day one was reported washed up at Redcar. I think it must have been the same one as they are normally found further out in the North Sea. All the best to you both, I love your vlogs.

Well done Barry and Jeff another enjoyable video. Not a bad catch overall but again hard work. What beautiful creatures lobsters are. The claws are massive. Do they produce a lot of meat? I see you have the rods ready for the mackerel. Could you not have kept the octopus for bait? Is that not the done thing? Birthday greetings Jeff. All downhill from now on😂. Yeah, we call them bottom feed, they'll dissappear as quick as they come, usually a 1/2 hr after sun up.
But when the fishing good they'll be there all day.😍😁👌

To be fair, the gear is that far out off the lobster ground. It wasn't really a concern.

Jeff I seem to recall in days of old the slang for the three services was the army were the "pongos", the air force the "brylcream boys" and the navy the "senior service". Good days fishing Baz, but to this day I cannot "fathom" out why you salty sea dogs don't use the old money - feet and inches? 🙂
Well the army were known as pongoes, as in where the army goes the pong goes. I think the army and navy had plenty of other nicknames for us ‘brylcream boys’ and as for the ‘senior service’, in their dreams 😂😂. All military banter at the end of the day.
🤣🤣🤣 oh, we still do measure that way, but only on boat jobs, at sea, it's always fathoms.😍😁👌

You are also to mark the coordinates
In a book, but as we an open type boat, theirs no chance to do that without getting everything soaking.🙈😁👌
