These guys kicked ass on every album. Tom Keifer (lead singer) is still going and sounds amazing. Their later stuff took on a more blues/rock sound but still really great stuff!
Cinderella was one of the quintessential hair bands of the Era. So many great bangers and vocals that were so recognizable! Probably one of their biggest hits was a ballad called "Nobody's Fool".
🤘😎
I too saw them in '86 with Bon Jovi. Check out their songs "Gypsy Road","Coming Home", and "Nobody's Fool". Another great hair band is Steelheart. Check out their big song "I'll Never Let You Go". You will be amazed at Miljenko's vocal range.
*Steelheart's* "I'll Never Let You Go" will _AMAZE_ them.
I went to bootcamp in the Navy July of 86, when I got home my friend Jeff was on the cover of a record.
I was in shock, and proud at the same time for him.
Tom Keifer...an astounding guitar player, singer, songwriter....the cat was one, if not, the coolest dude to rock the 1980's. Very underrated and criminally under-remembered.
Somebody save me is very underrated from this album. But BSB/Fallin apart at the seams is absolute fire!!! You won't be disappointed with wither of these.
Cinderella was my first rock concert. Saw them on their Long Cold Winter Tour with Winger and The Bullet Boys. They are such a great band!
Keifer voice is another one of those that is unmistakable. Great start to their catalog. Thanks for your insights Phil and Sam.
Cinderella was very underrated they were way above most of the other hair bands
Cinderella, Ratt, Tesla, Great White, Whitesnake, Motley Crue, what a great time in my teens to rock to this audio euphoria! 🤘😝🤘
@@thorfinsky1427 I absolutely agree best time in history to grow up
Don't Know What You Got Till It's Gone,,,is one of their most recognize songs. You will love it.
Such a good band! They really were more talented than most of the other "hair bands", even though they looked the part. Definitely worth checking out a few more. "Nobody's Fool", "Gypsy Road", "Somebody Save Me", "Don't Know What You Got Til Its Gone"
I was 14 when they debuted with this song, loved it then, love it now. Back then, "hair band" phrase didn't exist. All the 70's-80's hard rock were called "Heavy metal" back then. I saw Tom Keifer earlier this year and he played a full hour and 45 minutes of Cinderella songs and still did them incredible. Glad to see he's still rockin'!! Great reaction Bars & Barbells!
"Hair metal" absolutely existed as a term back then. Poison was a prime example. Cinderella leaned into the look, but they were actually a pretty decent blues-based rock band.
@@joshuawebb6694 - The hair and the bands existed, of course, but the phrases ":hair bands" or "hair metal" did not.. We called all of them heavy metal, except for "pop metal" bands like Bon Jovi, Poison, Europe, Honeymoon Suite, etc. --Big hair didn't stick out back then as it started to in the mid/late 90's, it was the look and no one thought of it as out of the ordinary.
@@joshuawebb6694 - It's synonymous with us calling it metal back then, but now everyone considers "metal" as the hard core metal, and classic 70's and 80's is now relegated to hard rock. We used hard rock back then, but even Van Halen and Cinderella were referred to as heavy metal. No one ever said "hair band" back then. It' didn't exist back then.
Gotta disagree. I graduated HS in 1988 and absolutely remember using the phrases "hair metal" and "hair band" in reference to bands like Bon Jovi, Europe, Poison, White Lion, etc. @@dustinjones8887
@@joshuawebb6694 - the terms came much later in the 2000's and 2010's. In the 80's, no one said the word mullet except for fishermen referring to the fish. It didn't exist as a term for the hair cut. The Beastie Boy's coined the term mullet in 1996 which caught on to refer to hair cuts short in front, long in back. Same thing with hair bands phrase. Didn't exist back then, it only was coined in later decades.
They are the second best live performance I have ever seen! I still have Tom Keefer's guitar pick from this concert!
Love Cinderella! ❤️ I saw them in the early 90's with Dokken, Slaughter, and Poison. It's in the top 5 of my all time favorite concerts! Their ballads are incredible with Tom's high voice. Hope you react to more Cinderella!
Finally! These guys are slept on with the new generations
The 80's was an awesome time to be growing up in!! The music was so awesome!! I still listen to a lot of the music from the 80's!!
Great reaction! Cinderella was one of the top bands from that era. If you want to hear some good blues-rock, then check out their song "Long Cold Winter."
I have been a fan of them since 1988. Saw them in concert in May 1991, and they were amazing. Cheers from a Gen X'er in northeast Ohio.
Criminally Underrated Band. The next song you should react to from them is “Nobody’s Fool” The Nobody’s Fool Music Video Starts where the “Shake Me” Video Ends. The Cinderella Music Video Trilogy Ends with the Song “Somebody Save Me” Another Cinderella Rock Song that they Absolutely Crush
80‘s Debauchery at its Finest 😂😂😂
After Further Review. “If you react to another Cinderella song , Somebody Save Me is probably the one to hit. More of an upbeat tempo with some more Guitars 🎸
Jon Bon Jovi saw them perform a club in Philadelphia. He got them signed to the same label as Bon Jovi. Cinderella has great songs "Nobody's Fool" "Shelter Me" (Little Richard makes a cameo in that video),"Somebody Save Me" Hair bands all had to do ballads Cinderella's is "Dont Know What You Got Till It's Gone"
These guys were rocking for sure❤His vocals are incredible❤Much love from Canada❤🇨🇦
I've seen Cinderella in concert back in the 80's, and still listen to them. They are an excellent bamd. Tom Keifer has a great voice for rock and roll.
Cool band. Being a musician, songwriter and vocalist myself, I played in rock clubs during the 80's and 90's and I remember these guys and even before they formed the band Cinderella. There was a club in Delaware that I played at in a band that I was in and the singer from this band (Tom Keifer) and the bass player (Eric Brittingham) were in a band called World War III, and they also used to play in the same club. Tom said that he wrote the song Shake Me in about 10 or 15 minutes sitting on his moms front porch. Both Tom and Eric formed both the bands World War III and Cinderella. The only thing was by the time they got signed to a major record label, their original drummer and other lead guitar player had been replaced. However, that lead guitar player went on to form another famous 80's band called Britny Fox. That guitar players name is Micheal Kelly Smith. Cinderella was discovered by Bon jovi in a rock club in Philadelpha called The Empire Rock Club, also another club that I used to play at as well. A lot of the bands from the area played at that club before they were signed to major record labels. Bon jovi also played there before he was even signed to a major record deal. Guns and Roses even played there.
Sorry, I don't know anything about the "Telegram" platform. Is there a business email address?
Great underrated band! Gypsy Road, Coming home, etc, etc…. One of their songs, Heartbreak Station was filmed in Mexico with an actual, in tack train (private owner)… there’s a story behind it… ❤
One of my all time favorite bands from the mid 80s to early 90s
My era, and the music I was into! Rockin it. Bullet Boys was another one.The song is "Smooth up in ya!" No explanation needed.
Bass players hair was called the palm tree! Love Cinderella ! Always put on a good show
I saw them when they came out in ‘86 when they toured with Bon Jovi. My mom got my sister and I and a friend each to go meet them at a record store and get an autograph!
Ahh the 80's pulling up to the bar on my Harley, listening to bands like this and bringing a new one home every night
Cinderella is one of my favorites
I love Cinderella. So many good songs.
Cinderella put on the best concert I’ve EVER been to!!!! Pure 🔥🔥🔥😎🤘💜🥰
Nice to see individuals recognizing their minds opening up.
Saw these guys in Memphis with Winger and The Bullet Boys! Possibly the best show I’ve ever seen!
Saw these guys at a club years ago and it was one of my favorite concerts ever. Only around 200 people so very intimate. Great time!
They are from Philadelphia formed in 1983 another great group. Love your chanel
Cinderella BEST TUNE IS " NOBODY'S FOOL "
Tom still sounds like this today.. simply amazing.
I like Cinderella!!!
R. I. P. Jeff LaBar!!!
These guys were amazing !!! 🔥🔥🔥
Unless you got to live it, and got to go to all the concerts, you'll never understand what it was like. Being a teen in the 80s was a crazy good time!
I absolutely love this band, the only one I ever went to 3 concerts for.... but I really struggle to understand why someone would recommend this song as a first dip into their catalog. Oh well, it's definitely not a bad song, but Nobody's Fool would have guaranteed them instantly falling in love with the band.
I was a big fan from the start. This being their first video on MTV, then I saw them open for David Lee Roth and Bon Jovi. Bought everything they put out. I don't care what anyone says...They Were Great!!! RIP Jeff LeBarr(guitarist). Awesome reaction as always guys! Have a great and safe New Years Eve & Day. Here's to ya🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🤟!!!
Cinderella has so many great songs. I think you'll enjoy them.
Oooh this band have made so many goooood songs! ”Don’t know what you got(til its gone) ”have been my jam as à single girl also ”Nobodys fool” 2 favorites in the power ballad categori🔥🙌🏻
In their song ”Sick for the cure” the blues vide is soooo on🤟🏻
This song by Cinderella is off their album Night Songs. All of the songs on this album "Rock and God Off!!!"🔥🔥🔥 I still have this album, one of my favorite bands.💜💜💜 You must check out all of the songs on this album 👍👍👍, oh yeah and of course their other songs.😁😁😁
My favorite of all the Hair Metal bands. Excellent live.
LOVE Cinderella! Alter Bridge please
I seen them live in 1988...unbelievable concert ❤ still love them to this day!❤
This is one of my favorite rock bands
Hair rock of the 80's was the look and sound! Gypsy Road was another good one.
what a cool screaming vocal👍🤘 Tom Keifer had, strictly according to the notes without falsehood
You both have cool like radio voices and I love this group thanks
I saw these guys with Poison and Skid Row. It was a awesome show!
It is now clear that the 80s, with their hairy glam metal and cool new movies on VHS, were the best time of the audiovisual era
Now that you've done "Shake Me" you've gotta do "Save Me', "Once Around The Ride", "Nobody's Fool", "Gypsy Road", "Last Train", "Bad Seamstress Blues/Falling Apart At The Seams" and "Shelter Me".
Cinderella is my all time favorite rock band ❤❤❤2024
Underrated band! Met Tom Keifer (twice) during mine and my wife’s honeymoon. He was really cool. Love Cinderella!
They are very underrated.
Cinderella was a featured artist on the Wayne's World movie and soundtrack with Hot and Bothered. And if you want more explicit lyrics check out KISS, Lick It Up...and see their first video when they took off their makeup.
PLEASE DO MORE CINDERELLA!!!!
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
LOVE YOU GUYS
"Nobody's Fool" and "Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)"
Philadelphia (1982) Love Cinderella!!You guys ate in for a treat!Enjog!🤘
I went to see them in concert twice, they were one of my favorite bands from that era!! They were awesome! But I think I need to give ya'll alittle bit of history from that time period, coming from someone who lived it and had my share of fun and a few others' too! First, you got to react to "Nobody's Fool" and anything else they do.. Tom Keifer was/is an awesome musician and singer. But the hair wasn't teased, ya'll... everyone who was young back then knows it was the Aqua Net Hairspray in the white and pink can, the super extra ultra heavy duty, set-your-hair-like-cement, very cheap (thank Heavens) hair product that was applied by first blow-drying your hair while hanging one's head upside down, then spraying it liberally while still upside down, with a good 1/3 of the can of Aqua Net in the white can, with the end result being highly flammable hair that wasn't going anywhere, short of getting caught in a category 5 hurricane. Also, yes, there was a whole lot of energy back then, and a whole lot of cocaine. Haven't ya seen Johnny Depp in the movie Blow?! 🤔😳 🎵💃
Cinderella and Tesla my 2 favorite hair bands. Great memories hearing these songs.
Happy New Year, Phil and Sam!!! Good 80s band. I saw them in concert back in the 80s. They hailed from the Philadelphia area. I believe Jon Bon Jovi saw them perform in a club and helped get them signed to the same label as Bon Jovi. They actually used the evil stepsisters in another official vid for their song "Nobody's Fool". They also did something slightly similar at the end of their video "Somebody Save Me." The lead vocalist is Tom Keifer. Sadly, their lead guitarist (Jeff Labar), who is wearing the blue coat in this vid, passed away back in 2021. He had suffered from bouts of alcoholism and substance abuse, but I'm not certain I remember ever reading the official cause of death. Great job, AGAIN, breaking another vid down.
Nothing like the 80s
I love the Raunchy references to 80s Rock or Glam. Women never really took issue because tgey dug the music and the fun surrounding the 80s. We didn't overanalyze. Just had fun going to.our concerts and boasting the music.
One of my fav bands of the 80's
8:57 - Disappointed you didn't comment on their guitar spins.
*Nobody's Fool* would be a good followup to this one.
Their ballad *Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone)* was probably their biggest hit.
Shelter Me is a great tune
Saw them years in their glam heyday, brilliant live.
Good group of the 80s❤
I started listening to these guys when I was 10 or 11. My Dad started liking then and bought all their records. I remember coming home from school one day and he had picked up their 2nd album Long Cold Winter. I was like WTF? It's really good tho.
Back in the day, we used to call bands like this "hair farmers." But some of them, like these guys, could obviously play and write good songs.
Those of us who did not poof up our hair had to admit that the hair farmers were sometimes pretty good. And after the hair trend ended, these guys kept playing, but the hair was down or (gasp) short.
Love this song, I got to see them in the mid-eighties when they opened for Poison in Corpus Christi Tx.
Awesome band, I think one of my favorite songs from them was Somebody Save Me. That song just rocks.
These guys were very underrated but they did know how to put on a show. They released their first album in 1996 and this was the first single released from it. They released 4 studio albums of which they sold over 15 million copies world wide. They came from Philadelphia and played the night clubs there and in New Jersey until they were discovered. Their songwriting and musicianship was second to non. Tom's voice problems which started in 1991 really put a damper on their careers. Some of us think that they could have been as big as Bon Jovi if this didn't happen.
I think their from Philadelphia. I still love Cinderella. Tom Keifer is for real. He's a fantastic singer, musician and writer. Love their album Long Cold Winter.❤
I knew Jeff LaBarr, we hung in the same music store in the very early 80’s called Caruso’s Sound Eden Garden Studio.
Jeff was a little older than me and he was playing in the Van Halen style then and he taught me a lot of riffs.
We hung in that store everyday, for me after HS at West Catholic Boys.
The music store was in Upper Darby on Garrett Road and we met there everyday for a few years.
Dennis Caruso owned the store.
Jeff was also in a band called Split Image with my good friend Dave Romani who is an incredible drummer to this day.
They had a girl singer and Jeff told her how much she wasted her money on vocal lessons daily lmao..😂
Great band live too. Bad Seamstress Blues/Falling Apart at the Seams and Shelter Me are awesome too
So this song is basically the dead nuts epitome of hair metal. The BPM is probably 140 which is just beyond dance-able but just the right groove for standing in one place and head-banging along. The vocals are AC/DC-esque but unique enough and there are enough cool guitar stabs to elevate this particular track above 90% of the other hair banded contenders. If you're curious about the genre, some other bangers are: SAY WHAT YOU WILL, ROUND AND ROUND, COLD BLOOD, ONCE BITTEN TWICE SHY, and YOU GIVE LOVE A BAD NAME. Amongst the many you should never take seriously.
1987. Got their Night Songs Album with this song on it. Couldn’t understand some of the lyrics but after having “the talk” with mom and stepdad I caught on pretty quick for a 12 yr old. Lol. RIP guitarist Jeff LaBar.
ones you could do are nobody's fool, gypsy road, somebody save me, one of the best rock ballads of all time don't know what you got till it's gone , another band you will like is poison songs to do are talk dirty to me, fallen angel, nothing but a good time, plus the classic every rose has its thorn
Hair band. They did things opposite to what many bands do. Their first album was rock. Hard rock/hair metal. And slowly became more bluesy.
Their name did NOT come from a Disney movie. It came from an...uh ..adult movie. 😂
And I have no idea why Legolas is playing bass for them. 😂😂😂
Cinderella actually has quite a few hits ..
Nobody's Fool (ballad)
Somebody Save
Gypsy Road
Don't Know What You Got (Till It's Gone) (good ballad)
The More Things Change
Shelter Me
Heartbreak Station (great ballad)
The media are such idiots, hair band? What, were all the non "hair" bands bald? The name should been hairspray bands.
@@metalmark1214 hey...that works 😂
@@metalmark1214 - If you called some metal bands a "hair band" you would probably find yourself in a fight.
@@jowbloe3673 Agree, there is a dispute as too what bands fit that category. A subjective thing.
Cinderella and Ratt both gave Motley Crue a run for their money as far as being the top 80's glam band in my opinion.
*Poison* was THE glam band.
@@jowbloe3673 sorry, I always thought they were a bit too corny for me, but I could see how people back in my day liked them, mostly the girls actually.
Hair metal/glam metal is by far the best music.
I was a fan of them since i was a child but I didn't see them in concert until I was an adult. Some of the concerts for this band are somewhat shorter because the lead singer had throat surgery but yeah they were great.
👍🏽 lotsa jams with Cinderella
I saw these guys on their first two tours. Great live band. Like most glam metal bands they were only really glam for the first album cover and the early videos. Even Poison was over it by their third album. There are two more videos that complete a trilogy of this Cinderella story, the story within the videos of the girl, Somebody Save Me and the finale in Nobody's Fool.
Yes! they were a GREAT Hair Metal, Glam Band 👍🤘
Tom Keifer, the lead singer/guitar player is a great musician. Very talented. You should check out the song, "Somebody Save Me". Another great song from them.
The 80s were just some much fun 🤘
Being in the Philly are is awesome. Such an eclectic mix of music over the decades
One one of the ACDC concerts I've been , Cinderella was the opening act.
Cinderella is one of my very favorite bands of all time. I encourage you to listen to some their songs not reacted to, sun shines through the rain, hard to find the words, just check it all out.❤
Check out Nobody's Fool next, great song with powerful vocals.
Some of them were from Philidelphia, Eric grew up in Salisbury Maryland. Neither Fred or Jeff were original members. The other original members went on to form Britny Fox after they were let go from the band, Tony and Michale. Tony died in a car wreck and they got Johnny Dee t replace him in Britny Fox. I grew up in New Jersey at this time and would go see Cinderella at a club they frequently played at call the Galaxy. My drum teacher, Jimmy Drnec was their second drummer. He would get me into the shows beings I was only 18. They were spinning their guitars back then before they Made It. Although their clothing was not as flashy as it is here, but it did have a dark look to their sense of fashion. It was around the time that Motley Crue had just broke and their fashion was an influence here.
one of the best and more underrated bands of the 80s. check out "Shelter Me". Terrific straight -ahead, fun song with guest appearance by Little Richard in the video. =)
Cinderella kicks ass
This was before your time.
Real METAL!!!
