One of Britain's best bands. Ian voice fuckin awesome. Still listen to them big time and I'm 66. Rock chick's never die , they just collect newer rock music to blast out on a daily basis. Stay safe and sane from Scotland 🏴 x
@@charliegeorge9393 They're actually touring under their old name Death Cult, and recycling some of the songs from that era (and possibly from the Southern Death Cult times as well, I haven't actually looked into the setlist for the new tour yet). So yeah, they're very much alive and kicking.
Same, I've never heard anyone comment even a little negatively on Ian's vocals. Billy Duffy is an incredible guitarist & well respected in the industry.
Absolutely. Ian has a unique unequalled rock voice. Strange because he's English with a strong British accent yet sings in this southern dive-bar inflected American accent...its bizarre but so good.
One of the all time best frontmen. They are still touring and playing with other legendary bands like guns and roses, If you have been a fan of the rock genre, you would know this group and their place in rock history. Next song should be She Sells Sanctuary. Saw them about a month ago and they were as good as ever
The suriving members of The Doors brought Ian, the singer, in to do some performances with the band. He's the perfect vocalist to step in for Jim Morrison. The band really liked working with him and he did a great job.
Lil' Devil, Love Removal Machine, Wild Flower, She Sells Sanctuary, Sweet Soul Sister. Ian Astbury also sang with The Doors. He does a great Jim Morrison
This song sounds the absolute best on vinyl. This song is so driven, powerful, and awesome to listen to. One of my all-time favorite rock songs for sure!
Thank Gawd FINALLY some CULT!!! One of my favorite bands ever, and one of David Bowie's favorite front man as well. I own thousands of dollars worth of CULT music which means b-sides, 12 inch records, long play versions, concert footage, and rarities. This is a rabbit hole band. My favorite among favorites lol.
The Cult were/are a great 80s/90s rock/hard rock band. This album, Sonic Temple, was a big hit for them. It got heavy play on MTV and rock radio. There are a lot of great songs on this album. Great frontman in Ian and great guitarist in Billy!
Dang, I'm late to the party! This is my favorite song by one of my favorite bands! Every year for the past few years I try to get someone to react to it on my birthday! But better late than never, thanks ya'll for doing this one!! 🎵💃🎸 I can't tell you how many times I rode around in my Midnight blue Chevy blazer blasting this song and generally enjoying myself, hehe!
I have seen these guys 5 times live. Billy Duffy & Ian Asbury are two of my all-time favorites. HUGE catalog of great music. The EP's & Remixes they do are top notch.
I love Ian Astburys voice. And The Cult are a very underrated band!! Knew a girl and she once said, if you can sit still to this song? there is something wrong with you😁
I saw this show in Atlanta in 89 I believe. Fantastic show!!! Every song...the whole night from both bands...complete raging fire!!! Man that takes me back lol...🍻🍻🍻
The one Metallica tour I really wanted to go to!!! To this day, I'm still bummed about not being able to go! And I still haven't seen Metallica, and I'm okay with that
I've seen them live. They are amazing live and sound just like the record. It was too cool and I've always LOVED Ian's long beautiful black hair. Yes, Ian is the singer.
You need to do more homework when it comes to Ian Astbury and The Cult! One of the best bands throughout the 80’s and 90’s and still touring today with a massive following. Ian’s vocals are amazing!
The Cult played their hometown of Glasgow last week and they can still blow the roof off! Their mix of rock, metal, goth, glam and catchy tunes made them and their sound unique! Keep on rocking!
From 1989 Thru '93 THEY, Were A Top - 5, Metal/ Hard Rock Band!!( After GnR , METALLICA,Skid Row, And U-2, But AHEAD Of Bands, Such As Great White And The 80,S Hair Bands... PS. IAN Is A "New Age ",Jim MORRISON!" He Even Sang With Ray And Robbie, Around 2000 ( aka DOORS- 1999, version) 😁👍🎸🎵🎶🎵 😝
FANTASTIC Band. Very underrated . Matt Sorum is the drummer, who went on to drum for Guns and Roses (November Rain) and Velvet Revolver (Slither) and is now with Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top.
The Cult, yay!! I've loved these guys since the 80s, they're amazing and still tour! Have seen them live twice & they're excellent. They were very popular for awhile in the late 80s/early 80s, a bunch of hit songs and great albums. Their early stuff is different, more 'goth' as the lead singer, Ian, calls it, but super good. They were popular in UK for the earlier stuff, it's really good....She Sells Sanctuary is huge & Love & Rain are also excellent.
Love this band. I rate Love as one of my top albums of all time. This is there almost heavy metal phase. The early indie rock of southern Death Cult, Dreamtime Spirit walker, Horse Natoion, 83rd Dream...then the classic Love she sells sancuary, rain, big neon glitter brother wolf and sister moon, and i can never get Love loud enough, I've tried...wildflower, sun king and the new tracks...so many and continuing...a great band, a great voice....
❤❤I love the Cult , this is a unique band with a mix of Rock and dance beat. I gotta tell you people something when I use to hit the dance clubs in the city they were playing Rave music which I also love and man it would get quiet for a few seconds and then the Cults song called " She Sells Sanctuary " would come on and everyone in the club started cheering as they ran to the dance floor, ladies and gentlemen the excitement and exhilaration you felt with that bass and sound system with speakers everywhere it was an amazing time to be alive. ❤❤❤❤❤
If you want to here another rockin' song from the Cult that makes you want to dance, check out their song "The Witch" from the Cool World sound track. It's one of my favorites of theirs.
I saw Ian Astbury and crew open for Metallica way back in the day and they put on a helluva show! This has been a pure banger since I first heard it years ago.
The Cult was an outlier in the techno club seen back in the late 1980's. When you listen to their earlier stuff you'll also get the dance vibe. Remix's of She Sell's Sanctuary, Rain, Love Removal Machine, and Firewoman were mainstays in the underground techno (EDM) club scene. As a matter of fact, during this tour (Sonic Temple) back in 1989 I saw them open up for Metallica (and Justice for All). I didn't have any idea who Metallica was at the time because only the six potheads with jean jackets at my high school knew who they were back then (writing this stoned, haha). When the concert was over I saw The Cult's lead singer (Ian Astbury) signing autographs at their bus. I walked up to him and said, "Man, you guys blew away Metallica." He looked at me curiously with a look of, "Are you fucking with me?" I've since become a Metallica fan and understand the look. The reality is that The Cult and Ministry (though the techno underground) are my catalyst into rock.
The rock vocalist the way it should be he's really good voice quality unique, not so serious hard hitting heavy sound but still manage to make us dance
We always play my husband’s Spotify list from his phone whenever we are in the car!🚗 Last night when we went to the grocery store this is one of the songs that played!😂. Great song! Hadn’t seen the video though!🎵 🎶 Great reaction!!❤👍
If you can get your hands on the Rare Cult 5CD box set, get it. Some absolutely great songs. One of the few rock bands that everyone wants to dance to. She Sells Sanctuary & (Here Comes the) Rain are legendary. The whole "Electric" album is a master piece and "Sonic Temple" as well. I have been listening to them since "Love" came out.
Awesome band that kinda carved their own niche...and, Ian Asbury is way underrated as a front man (there's a reason The Doors tabbed him for vocals on their reunion tour).
Sonic Temple is the album. Late 80's, this is 1989. His voice is incredibly unique and powerful, how many times did he belt out Fire Woman!!!!???? .Such an underrated band. Incredible, unique sound. Amazing stage presence and performance. Check out more of their music.
Fun fact: The lead singer here, Ian Astbury, was in a band called "The Doors of the 21st Century" in the early 2000s with original Doors guitarist Robby Krieger and original organist Ray Manzarek.
The Cult are an English rock band and they're still around and touring. They were very popular in the 80's and early 90's. In the last few years they've pit out a couple of decent albums. Lead singer Ian Astbury and guitarist Billy Duffy are the main songwriters.
Totally agree with comment below "mileswallace". Great frontman and not sure who the referral was to other vocalists are better, because that blues rock performance was KILLER. Saw them perform as backup to Metallica in Edmonton and Metallica regretted it because the power and energy they put out from vocals to guitar and pumping drums in this songs driving beat and others upstaged the headliner by some margin judging by the difference in crowd response and surely by what I heard ...
Back in the day, my wife told me somebody walked up to her while she was having lunch out in an open plaza, and said to her 'Fire Woman'. She didn't realise that it was the title of a song, even though I had been playing a cover version in a band for a few weeks.
One of Britain's best bands. Ian voice fuckin awesome. Still listen to them big time and I'm 66. Rock chick's never die , they just collect newer rock music to blast out on a daily basis. Stay safe and sane from Scotland 🏴 x
Check out "Alter Bridge" for some new rock. All their stuff is great.
@@majormike1688 hi yip I've checked them out absolutely brilliant. Miles Kennedy is just amazing. Good wishes to you from Scotland 🏴 x
Great band "She Sells Sanctuary" is another killer tune.
The Cult was and still are a fantastic band, Ian had one of those unique voices as well, and Billy Duffy was and still is an amazing guitar player!
there still touring now
Were! ? 🙄
Ian with the doors is pretty good, it's actually quite uncanny how much he sounds like Jim Morrison.
@@wolfmanscott8669thank God someone said it lol!!!
@@charliegeorge9393 They're actually touring under their old name Death Cult, and recycling some of the songs from that era (and possibly from the Southern Death Cult times as well, I haven't actually looked into the setlist for the new tour yet). So yeah, they're very much alive and kicking.
Ian Asbury was one of the top vocalists of the 80s and 90s.
I think Ian Atsbury's vocals are some of the best ever. I also think Billy Duffy is one of the most underrated guitarists of our time.
Agree with you on Billy Duffy.
Same, I've never heard anyone comment even a little negatively on Ian's vocals. Billy Duffy is an incredible guitarist & well respected in the industry.
Cant hear the 😅vocals... Wtf.. are you both deaf 😅
Atsbury is a GREAT frontman. Vocals, look, stage prescence. I saw them a couple years ago and they still sound awesome!
Saw them live two nights ago in Norwich, UK. Still absolutely brilliant and Ian Astbury still has those pipes!
They are cooler than anyone today!!!!
You must be kidding me about the vocals, Ian has one of the best rock voices of that period.
of the era they were good,as an old goth.......
I agree with you 100%. Tell me what 80s band that he mentioned has a better voice.
Of all time Ian is the man!
Absolutely. Ian has a unique unequalled rock voice. Strange because he's English with a strong British accent yet sings in this southern dive-bar inflected American accent...its bizarre but so good.

Just saw them in Vegas about 2 months ago! Still sound awesome!!!
One of the most underrated bands in history.
Indeed, the greatest thing to come out of Bradford....besides excellent curry. 😎✌
What are they talking about, Ian Astbury has the best voice in rock , hands down.
One of the best
The vocals are FIRE too, common now
Can’t beat the Cult, there sound and look was awesome.
LOVE THE CULT!!!
Ian is an underrated front man. My top 10 ever. Still performing with power even today.
The suriving members of The Doors brought Ian, the singer, in to do some performances with the band. He's the perfect vocalist to step in for Jim Morrison. The band really liked working with him and he did a great job.
Just saw them in concert. They’re still killing it.
Lil' Devil, Love Removal Machine, Wild Flower, She Sells Sanctuary, Sweet Soul Sister. Ian Astbury also sang with The Doors. He does a great Jim Morrison
WICKED underrated band!!!
I met the Cult after a show in Denver, they are a great band. They also were really cool and friendly dudes.🥁☮☘
The most underrated band , ever!!!
Ian actually toured on vocals with the remaing members of the doors when they were still with us. He covered Jim Morrisons stage mannerisms very well
This was played in the clubs all the time and yes we danced to it
It’s called, a jam!
“Love Removal Machine” and “Edie (Ciao Baby)” are both great songs. LRM really rocks!
This song sounds the absolute best on vinyl. This song is so driven, powerful, and awesome to listen to. One of my all-time favorite rock songs for sure!
Ian’s voice is super powerful

Their hit collection "Pure Cult: for Rockers, Ravers, Lovers, and Sinners" is fire throughout. It is a really great CD.
Woot! My favourite song by The Cult.
As Ian said himself at Marquee 1991 performance: "It is all just F-ing punk rock".

Love the Cult. Let’s show some props to Matt Sorum of G&R fame on the drums.

She Sells Sanctuary is a must.
Danzig "Mother"...Nuff Said.
Young pups I was 27 when this was hit saw them live with another great band Tora Tora back 1992
The entire album “electric“ is killer
I saw them live in Halifax NS in Dec '89, was an awesome show!
3 great albums-1985-Love-kind of gothic, 1987-Electric-started to sound like ACDC., 1989-Sonic temple-combination of the two
80s arena rock ..hair metal .. you always got over the top show for your money man i miss those days
Cruising Myrtle Beach Summer of 1990 with Sonic Temple playing. Those were the days.

“She sells Sanctuary”,”Love Removal Machine” !!!

A great band. Their music was fun to dance to back in the late '80s. You MUST listen to and review the song "She Sells Sanctuary"
Ian Asbury is a Great Singer and was even asked to fill in for Jim Morison by the rest of the Doors, RIP John and Ray Manzarek
