Francisco I’m doing this job currently on a cascading a daycab, however some of the bolts for the bracket on the motor mount go into the hanger for lead spring…how do you keep it from not shifting? Thanks again
Great video. Is there any way to get the self adjusting clutch retaining bolts? Do you happen to know dimensions?
Están muy bueno los vídeos nos sirve de mucho pero yo los necesito en español por favor gracias
Is there anyway to replace motor mounts without pulling transmission?
How long does the Eaton transmission normally last. If taken care of properly?
Que onda Francisco tengo un Freightliner century 2007 y el fan clutch no se apaga y lo revisaron y todo parece bien pero en la computadora tenía on and off pero según tiene que estar los dos off and off pero no lo pudieron cambiar el código tienes alguna sugerencia gracias.
4:51 I see metal where the slave cylinder mounts to. When I changed my slave cylinder, I found a rollpin but close to the size of a dowel pin in that same area. Do you know where it came from, what caused it, can i fix it, and what can happen if i keep driving it. Thank you
Hi, do you have shop in fontana I can stop by to do some work on my 12 cascadia?
I need to ask! About what is the cost for you to do something like this?? Also, I NEED to know what could cause a clutch to burn so easily!!😢 I haven't had much experience on the manuals, but I thought I was doing well.. The mechanic is blaming me for breaking the clutch and put a new one in. Within the next week the clutch looked bad again, at least that's what he told my boss right after he told me the day before that I was shifting and clutching right and that it look very good. Lost my job due to the cost.... Could a fan stealing horsepower have anything to do with affecting the clutch?
How do I remove the old clutch from transmission.
Hey, my mechanic changed my engine mount, to do it they had to remove the transmission, when I got the truck back I noticed I loose coolant when I parked, after searching for days where the coolant going, I realized it's in the DEF tank, what could cause that?
Do you Have to replace the main seal when replacing clutch....
Do you have a shopping California if so I would rather go to you then the dealer
Do you have your own shop?
Francisco--muchas gracias. How did you rotate the flywheel through that little space in order to turn the clutch? Some kind of tool? Surely, you didn't bump the starter, right?
Using a flat screwdriver (a big one)
You use the ring gear teeth to rotate it with the screwdriver.
And no, I didn't remove the starter.
Francisco Amaya can you send me your email.
Hi francisco can you tell me where is your shop located at and shop name. I'm in Bakersfield CA.
Francisco, is this an Eaton, model FRO? Also, where'd you get the seal compressor?
No, this a 13 speed. RLTO transmission.
FRO is for 10 speed
At the freightliner dealer or online
I have a 2012 Cascadia with the Eaton Transmission. It is stuck in high gear l, do you have to drop it out to repair the piston...also wondering should I start by replacing the selector first. Great job on all the Videos!
Do you have a 10 spd?
Olin Sanford No. Fairly easy to replace.
buenos dias, tiene este video, en español.
Una pregunta Francisco q aceite puedo usar para una transmisión de 9 velocidades de la marca Rockwell
Si es manual, puede usar aceite de differential or transmission sae 50
Thank you for helpful video like always ,how much it cost just labor?, seal and both motor mount replace , no transmission replace keep same
+/- $3500 - $5000
Depending on the parts, labor rate and accessories to replace.
@@franciscoamayaYT how much the labor for rear main seal replace??
antoni xicara
Maybe like $1000 +/-
It is better to replace it when you do the clutch.
Excuse what kind of tool I can use for spinning the engine for remove the mounting clutch bolts . And what’s the tool for put in on again the rear main seal ? Thanks so much
Just a regular screwdriver
Hello Francisco how many bolts are in the transmission total in order to remove it all the way down ?
12 are holding the belt housing
En que estado estas ?
Wow!! Alot of work... how long did it take??
Around 16 hours of work.
Yes, I did a lot of work.
Everytime you do clutch job is recommended to do all that but the price gone very high.
Great job mate, good to see a thorough mechanic, as you would know these units traveling large kms inbetween replacement clutches, input shafts wear splines, spigot and bearings commonly, as well as rear main seals go hard. Be a shame to tell the customer a 100,000kms later that the box has to be removed again. Higher cost for initial parts and labour replacement, however saves paying transmission removal and refit twice.
Do you need to remove the transmission to install the motor mounts ?
No necessarily but they are easier to replace them if you remove the transmission.
Thanks man
Would you please let me know I have 2012 freightliner cascadia I have replace the transmission I have everything open even the transmission it don't want to come out
What doesn't want to come out?
Tenes q usar esa herramienta para el retenedor d aceite? No se puede a la vieja escuela? Donde con un martillo le vas dando al rededor
Un Matillo the plastico y con una madera de el tamaño se puede meter
@@franciscoamayaYT enterado. Gracias

Does anyone know a channel with good series 60 videos?
To replace the clutch, does the transmission need to be dropped?
Yes, that is the only way.
Francisco I HAVE 2010 FREIGHTLINER CASCADIA I A CAB AND STEERING VIBRATION BETWEEN 55 AND 60 MPH . I HAD FRONT TIRES REPLACED AND BALANCED ALSO I REPLACED THE 6 SHOCKS AND DRIVE TIRE AS WELL ARE NEW AND FRONT IS IN GO SHAPE TOO. WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THAT VIABRATION.?
The brake drums can cause a vibration too. Have you replace any brake components in the front?
Hi Francisco thanks for your videos, I have a question I got freightliner 2013 last two days I. Saw sometimes RPM going up when truck in 10gear and gas pedal all the way down rpm at 15 sometimes rev up it self to 18 and goes down to 10 and come back to normal, and when moving between 15mph to 55mph I had little noise and vibration under between driver seat and gas pedal please what you think about this problem tnx
The RPM goes up, but the vehicle remain the same, right?
Thanks Francisco for your response yes
I recently changed brakes and slacks is there anything I can do please
I have a 2010 dd15 with a 10 speed, i want to change my transmission for a 13 speed, what will i have to change on it?
Do i need a different clutch and what else will have to be replaced?
Edwin Macias same here.
@@fabiomeurer4239 let me know if you ever get info on whats needed, i will do the same
Ive heard that all i have to do is cut the drive shaft, and program the computer to the new transmission
Edwin Macias early today I found a guy on the you tube and he said on his video that’s wht they did. And also cost about 4,5 labor and parts
It’s look like it’s a simple thing to do. But he also say most of the dealer make it a big thing. Guess to make more money? If i get it done at some point will let u know
Exactly what I want to do
@Fabio Meurer thank you
Look like the york lock nut was loose
Hey Francisco I have a hydraulic clutch on my 14 cascadia. The clutch brake dosen't work. When first going into gear but works normal when I stop at a light. I'm at a TA and they said there is nothing they can do that you can't adjust a hydraulic clutch. Is this true? Can you please enlighten me?
If the clutch has a manual adjustment, yes they can adjust it.
But usually cascadia comes with automatic clutch.
If you can go underneath the truck and check the clutch, see if the clutch has the same wear indicator as the one is on my video, if It has the same wear indicator that means that you have automatic clutch and it can't be adjusted.
Francisco Amaya which one is good -14 cascadia manual or automatic clutch I replaced clutch and transmission 1 year ago. But it’s hard to go first gear then I don’t use clutch after
I'm sure like a manual adjust Eaton road ranger you also setup clutch pedal adjustment in accordance cover adjustment. Providing its using a clutch brake disc on the last throw of the pedal and not a air operated internal brake. Also if cold first run they like to be nursed until there warm, miss gears etc if rushing until warm.
GTL LLC
Manual is always better
Tell them to spray it with degreaser and pressure wash it, then dump the clutch in first it will re-adjust itself if it’s stuck.

Hey Francisco DD15 leaking rear main seal oil onto clutch...can i save the clutch? its brand new.
Yes, it is a solo self adjusting clutch. Make sure to install the installation or service bolts. So it doesn't mess with the adjustment
@@franciscoamayaYT the oil can be cleaned off clutch? Brake clean? Its an ez pedal. I would like to save it.
Yes, it can.
Where is your shop at location?
I will give you my contact, just give me sometime to get my shop big enough to give the service you deserve. Thanks
How are you francisco. I have a question. I driving a 2010 freightliner cascadia with 900000. Sometimes im driving over 60mph and you press the gas pedal the rpm star going up but the truck is not going any faster?.
The engine RPM goes up but you don't feel any response from the vehicle, is that what you said?
If you press the gas pedal slowly, does it get speed?
Yes. Thats exactly what is happening. Any idea?
It is possible that the clutch is slipping or out of adjustment.
Check if you have a solo (automatic) clutch or a easy pedal.
If you have a easy pedal you need to adjust it but if you have a solo clutch you will need to replace it.
Francisco Amaya, thank you for answer. Thats exactly what I was needing to know. Appreciated
How do you know if you need a new transmission??
Many reasons.
Gear not engaging
Transmmision goes neutral on specific gears
Broken gears
Excessive oil leak
Bad bearings
Excessive Noise
Etc,..
Francisco Amaya will a bad transmission cause any pulling power loss ? I’m hearing the noises now. It sounds like a bag of screws in a dryer. When I push clutch in the sound goes away. Clutch is about 9 months old.
Jacquisi Tarrance
A bad clutch can slip causing a Similar problem
Francisco Amaya I had clutch replaced 9 months ago. The rattling i hear is still present even after new clutch
Maybe the clutch is not strong enough for your truck.
Hi, Francisco, I have freightliner cascadia 2011 it has hydraulic clutch, had difficulty shifting when I am start driving in the morning, after 15 minutes driving everything is ok for shifting gears, went to freightliner dealer told me I had bad hydraulic line end replaced, then bleeded air form the system, but still I have the problem any idea please help.
Hydraulic clutch? ,Do you mean the clutch auxiliary cylinder?
Shifting?, Which gears?
What time of transmission do you have?
Francisco Amaya , thanks for the response, truck has small reservoir under the foot valve, and it takes DOT 3 oil, my transmission is 13 speed EATON FULLER
Ok, so when you say hard shifting, you might that the gear makes noise when you do the shifting?
Do you use the clutch to do the shifting?
Francisco Amaya , thanks again, mostly I use the clutch, the problem is when I move the gear lever or red button the RPM stays high means nothing changed still I am the last gear!!
Most problem is the red button, I shift like ten speed to shift I can only use the red button after 15-20 minutes on the road
how often do you need to replace a clutch? thanks.
Well, it depends.
This truck had 800K miles with the OEM clutch, but It can last up 1M + miles if you use it correctly.
Depends on a lazy driver with a couple of bad habits, #1 using to higher gear on take off #2 resting foot against clutch pedal
