This is a beautiful collection. I'm just getting into collecting carnivorous plants. Starting out with the Cape Sundews and Pings.
Awesome new carnivorous plant additions they look really nice
They are pretty nice, can't wait to see how the Sarrs grow. My collection has been lacking some good Sarrs.
It was funny to see the Venus flytrap eating it’s own leaf😂
Lol, they do that pretty often. Not as smart as they'd like us to think.
Wonderful selection! I've been eyeballing their site but haven't pulled the trigger quite yet, this may have convinced me!
You won't regret it. I'll likely 100% buy from them now. They are just so amazing, not just their plants but the people there too. Unless they just don't have what I'm looking for (which is unlikely), I'll probably purchase through them now.
All are just lovely! 🥰
Thank you Mandy! Always good to hear from you!
Amazing!
Thank you!
I just placed my first order from callifornia carnivores, got some real beauty's too. Two pings, a couple of unique larger flytraps, and a cephalotus. I was blown away by the selection. Can't wait to get them, especially after seeing how well they are packaged.
Its so much fun getting plant mail! I'm assuming you have received the plants by now! Hopefully, they were amazing. Sometimes flytraps can be a bit of a let down when you get them this time of year due to dormancy.
Ordered from them and my plants came in great condition ! They even answered any questions I had :)
Woo hoo, love California Carnivores. Glad you had a good experience with them!
Amazing plants! They are very pretty! I’m lucky enough to live near sarracenia northwest as it’s located in eagle creek, Oregon and I’m in Dallas Oregon so it’s about a 1 hour drive. I also live by a nursery in McMinnville, Oregon and it also sells carnivorous plants like sundews, sarracenia, and Nepenthes. Good luck with your dream!
Oh man, that is really lucky. I LOVE Oregon, have actually thought about moving there someday. Would love to be close enough to a nursery to find carnivorous plants! The only carnivorous plants I can get locally are from big box stores. I strongly support buying local when that is an option!
I am so jealous! Lol
Me too!!
Omg, you made well ~mr-🤠
Thank you my friend!
You are so lucky it sucks its hard to get different varieties of carnivorous plants where am at :(
Johnny, I'm terribly sorry. My hopes with this channel is to help make the hobby more popular and more accessible. Hopefully carnivorous plants will be more available worldwide in the coming years.
i remember trying to save one i bought from Lowe's and i compared it to the ones from California Carnivores, and the seemed like giants compared to Lowe's ones.
It just really depends on the cultivar. But... Pretty much every flytrap you buy from California Carnivores will be bigger and healthier than what you get at big box.
I just decided to get a carnivorous bromeliad and use your code thanks
Right on! That is going to be beautiful! Thank you for supporting my channel, it truly means a lot to me!
My typicals from Joel’s are pretty big and thriving
That's awesome, the stronger lights must be helping a lot! Sansi to the rescue!
I would love to have one.
Which one did you like?
I should definitely get one of these lol
Which one did you like best?
@@CarnivorousPlantsHub that last sarracenia looks beautiful it has good colors too
Yes, that Leah Wilkerson is fire. Most of my Sarrs are squat Purp style. I'm excited to have one that grows tall!
Awesome haul!
Shoot me an email, we need to get you some more 'dews and byblis going.
I'm definitely intrigued, I'll hit you up John!
As far as the moon trap goes… I’m new to Venus fly traps… but from what I’ve read… don’t all of them essentially get nutrients from photosynthesis and not actually NEED bugs to thrive? What am I missing? 😇
The main thing flytraps need is sunlight, they can live without catching bugs. However, they will grow larger and more vigorously if they are able to catch insects. Catching bugs is basically like them getting fertilizer. So, they need sun to live but bugs to thrive. Hopefully that makes sense. You can replace bugs with a really diluted maxsea fertilizer, but if they are being kept outside, they are probably catching flies. Unless it's like a moon trap, which is a non functional flytrap.
How should I go about repotting these?
Hey Samuel, which plants are you referring to? Flytraps and Sarrs should be repotted toward the end of the dormant period. If you need step by step, I have a repotting video for flytraps! ua-cam.com/video/QUBRiR-JIdU/v-deo.html
Do you have a sarracenia leucophylla you should grow them they are my favorite I have the hurricane creek variety
I do not, but I've had my eye on leucophylla for a while now. It's only a matter of time before I pull that trigger!
7:01 it’s so tiny.
Oh, yes! The Rob, I just did a time lapse of the Rob, check it out! ua-cam.com/users/shorts4m3BJvooVPc?feature=share
