    When you receive the plants, do you immediately put them in water trays? I have received several plants from California Carnivores and all have been excellent. Used your code on the first order. Thanks CP Hub. Great videos.

      I own several VFT’s and a Sarracenai Adrian Slack. I put them in a tray filled with water Immediately but let it outside for 3 hours the first day so it can slowly adjust to heat, weather and the new environment. As days go by, I increase the hours.
      Example, you got it out of the package, give it 3 hours, the next day increas 4 or 5 and so on. Hope this helps for you.

      This is great advice! Acclimation is a must. And yes, right into the water. The only exception may be pings. Sometimes I'll let pings dry out a bit after shipping before I water them. But all the plants on this haul went right into the water dish. Slowly acclimating to full sun.

    CPH, the master on Carnivorous plants, as always. That Sarracenia that looks like a Darlingtonia is insane. If it’s the same care as other Sarrs, then I’m totally buying one. Keep us up to date buddy.
    Looking forward to that ping :D

      My friend! I thought of you when I opened that Sarr. They like a lot of water, will even catch an occasional small minnow as they are sometimes almost submerged where they grow wild. Cool plants, one of my favorite sarrs!

    The tall sundew hitchhiker is a drosera filiformis.

      It seems really healthy. It's acclimating to full sun now, so we will see if they redden up. I kinda hope they don't, I'm digging the all green. Cool plant.

    Hi i would like to ask something about my sundew.
    I think it grew a new sundew on its old leaf. But that old leaf is still attached to the plant itself. Should i pull the old leaf off OR let it grow on its own and transfer it when it's big enough? I just started to grow carnivorous plants last week so I'm not sure what to do.

      You can trim the dead leaves back if you want. I like to keep my sundews tidy by getting rid of all the old dead stuff.

      Hey Glenn, lots of tips to give. But what I recommend is watching this video, it gives full venus flytrap care in under 10 minutes. A good A to Z for beginner care. ua-cam.com/video/bTfbMPkRtUA/v-deo.html I wish you all the luck with your new flytrap!

      Transplanting them during the growing season can throw them into dormancy. It is recommended to transplant them in the winter after dormancy. Unless you bought them from a big box store

    • @CarnivorousPlantsHub
      @CarnivorousPlantsHub  10 місяців тому +2

      They are very sensitive to repotting shock. Continue to maintain good care, the new growth should be healthy and green but don't be surprised if most of the existing growth turns black and dies over a couple weeks.
