@@AcreV504 There are plenty of behaviors that can seem unpleasant but are actually good signs. Not giving up when told no, for example--it can mean the guy is a stalker, but it can also mean he really likes her or that he is dogged and persistent. If you categorize all such men as harrassers, you may drive away the exact kind of men who will stick by you faithfully when the going gets tough. And that's what the Me Too movement misses.

    • @AcreV504

If a woman tells someone no, that's not a sign to be persistent. I feel like your statement is fightingly manipulative and moves the goal post in order to approve dangerous behavior. I believe people who state that the Me Too movement was or became a witch hunt are the dangerous ones who want to keep barbaric culture alive without push back. Instead of being honest about bad behavior it is helping in pushing the unbelieved and unheard side to move further to that African Proverb, "The child who is not embraced by the village, will burn it down to feel it's warmth."

I mean this in the nicest way possible. It takes more than power and biases to make someone an oppressed group. Women are simply not an oppressed group and the feminist movement has been trying to push women into that oppressed role for decades and this is just another example. Oppressed people don't get historical privileges. Women get constant privileges in health, education, military, prison, and the court. You can't have those privileges and still be considered an oppressed group.

    • @Break1815

Today’s rabid feminism actually has its roots in Puritanism
Puritans being those reformed Christians who sought to “purify” the Church of England of its Catholic practices by resettling on a new continent.
Many conservative white-knight men consider themselves to be “real patriarchs” and are the men who really enforce the anti-male gynocentric status quo.
Conservative American women, with their frigidity and extremely manipulative natures, are far more dangerous than their liberal counterparts IMO.
It’s true conservative men can be some of the worst offenders when it comes to pedestalizing women. Conservative feminism, much like its liberal counterpart also vaunts women while denigrating men.
From there Puritan roots grew into the soil and yielded today’s society, one rife with female manipulation, prudish legal and cultural stances on sexuality, strident declarations that men who crave sex are evil, and the belief that laboring one’s life away for no other reason than to be a good worker drone and producer of wealth for female benefit is the best way to live.
Though seldom ordained as religious leaders, moreover, women set the agenda also at church. They took their morality into public space with various reform movements, continuing crusades against the evils that they associated with men: prostitution, intemperance, and secularism. Moreover, they were demanding more influence in all spheres of public life. At least partly on the cases of their own self-proclaimed moral and spiritual superiority to men... they demanded the right to vote, the prohibition of "demon rum," and many other changes...
For Victorian and Progressive reformers around the turn of the twentieth century, the only thing worse than an American male was an immigrant male. A working-class, immigrant Catholic male was perhaps the worst of all. These people were - to use a word recently given new meaning - the "deplorables" of American society 100 years ago.
Men have been blamed for most of society's ills.
It seems that "toxic masculinity" is not a feminist thing.
Among Victorians in the late nineteenth century, and among the later Progressives in the twentieth century, men were singled out as the primary cause of a multitude of social ills ranging from child abuse to poverty. A chief factor in of all these threats to civilization was alcoholism. The fact that only some men caused such misfortune for their families was not necessarily emphasized.
In her appropriately titled book The Feminization of American Culture Ann Douglas examines these trends.
In many cases, the goal was to "civilize" men through what the reformers' opponents might have described as excessive "domestication."
This institutional framework was especially troubling since it confirmed male Catholics, immigrants, and other undesirables in their ways, thus making them less likely to be converted into the ranks of the Progressives and other reformers.
In 1920, a female Party official at the GOP convention that year felt the need to clarify that "I most emphatically do not believe in the aggressive, antagonistic, anti-man spirit in politics." At the time, the Republican party was the home of the most aggressive reformers, and many party officials felt the need to separate themselves from these activists, just as some Democratic Party officials today must announce that they don't support Antifa. The interviewer, a writer for Good Housekeeping, informs the reader that by 1920 "the anti-man period of the woman movement is past. The day of sex-antagonism is past." The article, which apparently takes an anti-reformist position, may have drifted into some wishful thinking.
Indeed, in her updated 1998 preface to The Feminization of American Culture, Douglas suspects that "Amid faux-feminist standards of sexual impropriety, proliferating lawsuits, and a tyrannical pop psychology of victimology, we are now conducting a series of cultural campaigns remarkably like the drives for Purity and Prohibition in which the reform impulses of my [Victorian] subjects culminated in the late nineteenth century."

Everybody is against what Harvey Weinstein did. But not everything is equally bad (it doesn't take Jason Bourne to know that). Also, some of this stuff is not by definition workplace sexual harassment. James Franco allegedly asked his acting students to take off their clothes. But that is sometimes part of acting (if he was teaching stripping. would it be harassment to ask them strip?). Megan Fox voluntarily took sexy roles in Michael Bay movies, and now she's claiming exploitation (smash the patriarchy!). The biggest problem though is the Twitter hashtag. Some of these incidents maybe didn't happen at all, and Twitter is about the WORST place to decide that.

Let's get real. The main problems with #metoo is the #. It's a hashtag, an internet movement, and a vague slogan. Of course, everybody with every kind of agenda is going to jump on board. That's how movements that start online are. It's not like it ever had an officali spokesperson of a mission statement of a wrttine agenda. So there's that.

There should be a rule that all women in the workplace should not be allowed to wear high heels, tight figure revealing clothing and large amount of makeup. If women are just there to work and not flirt or find a boyfriend which they claim to be then this should not be a problem for them. Who can deny that the above three things make women more attractive to men and women know that all too well and use that to their advantage. This should be taken away from them.

Never groped a woman without permission in my life. Been groped intimately at least half a dozen times. Earliest at sixteen by a friend of my mother's. Most recently ten years ago by a sixty year-old drunk woman at a dinner party. Other women laughed. The day society starts to give a shit about 'men too,' I'll care about #metoo.

Metoo is hurting woman in many regards. For one, it is not my opinion that all woman are supportive of metoo, many have voiced their displeasure. Secondly many men support metoo regardless of facts. There is this weird virtue thing going on with young people. Ive seen it more prevelant among young white males. Its a curious thing, i dont think young people possess the life experience to be so condeming to those with different opinions. Wisdom truly does come with age but the youth today seem to attack anyone Who holds an unpopular opinion. Unpopular speech is a foundation to which this country was founded, Now it seems you should not be allowed to work and live in a society if you hold such opinions. The whole thing is frightening to me.

Yes, and it all comes at a bad time for the imploding feminist movement in America which is suffering the backlash from longstanding misandrous demonization of men…the broad-brushing only escalates with #MeToo. Witness MGTOW in all its variations. No doubt, male sexual harassment of women in the workplace or anywhere is inexcusable, yet enough man-hating, activist SJW women have dug themselves into a very deep ditch they will not be able to climb out of.

Nah, I think this misses the point entirely. I think it is so strange to talk about men being caught in the 'crossfire' because we all know why Matt Damon's comments were stupid and why Aziz Ansari's alleged behaviour was creepy. Why are we not allowed to voice these things? Why do the stories of female experience always have to be categorised as a movement or a trajectory? Instead we should develop a more complex dialogue to talk about sex between men and women so everything doesn't have to boil down to shame and power.

I think black and legal gray market prostitutes are benefiting from this. Not that they would put up with abuse from their clients, but, some men with money fear that a casual consenting sexual contact will all of a sudden Turn around and blame him for something he did not do, just because after they both got off she changed her mind that it was not right for her .Answer save up and go to a prostitute. These would be the ones with money. For those who don't have money Sex toys and porn is safer.I'm not making a joke neither there are hetero men who are concerned about this. Another thing I have a sneaky suspension that the Republicrats might have encouraged this group so that there would be another cause for their wealthy to a tax shelter and for political power. These politicoes don'; give a crap about women who were really raped or seaullxy attacked. Worst this is actually hurting the women's movement, besides politically conservative women.

The scary part is men know but they still don't understand how much more freeer they are, and things are already imploding
