Out of all of the CFI mock oral videos this one is my favorite. He has a really great way of relating the material and making it interesting. Great job!
Thank you!!!
Great way to make the material interesting I like the style…despite the other guy zoning out…I discovered presenting to someone that never heard the material before is very helpful
Glad you enjoyed it!
Amazing as always !
Thank you!!!
Studying for my CFI add on right now. Please close part two soon!
OK. Sorry for the delay! I’m going to work on completing this tomorrow.
Great instructional video.
Thank you! Thanks for subscribing!
Pretty sharp.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for subscribing.
Don’t forget to watch part two of this extended certified flight instructor oral exam!
Forward Cog, doesn’t that run the risk of losing rearward trim and elevator control? Wingtip vortices are proportional to Cog not lift.
I really like the notes you are showing on screen that you're using as an outline to hit all of the main topics of each task. Are those available anywhere?
We created those with an outline of the PTS using various aviation books, but I would be happy to send you a copy if you email me.
Wow thank you! Just emailed@@BATAviation
Is there access to your lesson outlines presented on the screen?
I can probably come up with most of them tonight. Email me @ atbataviation@gmail.com and I’ll get back to you! Thanks for subscribing to our channel!
I have a question, could you become a CFI (ASEL) if you have a limited commercial certificate , no instrument rating
Yes, you can
Get you’re IFR it opens lots of doors
@@BATAviation no you cannot. Read 61.183 section C sub 2. It used to be that you could but no longer
I love your videos, but I would love to also see you invest in some better audio equipment rather than just using the onboard mic to capture the audio. It’s pretty painful with all the room echo
Working on it
Daniel Bernoulli was Swiss.
We are both wrong, he was Dutch but living in Switzerland
That ain’t no CFI candidate. That’s gotta be a DPE 😂
LOL
Hes gooood
far as i know, forward CG gives you more controllability. you've mentioned it opposite way(32:10)
You might be mistaking it with stability. A forward CG gives you more stability. Controllability refers to the response from the controls when you apply pressure. So an aft CG reduces the amount of work the elevator needs to do to rotate the airplane around the lateral axis and thus improves controllability. Does it make sense ?

The CFI candidate has a lot of wisdom and experiences. How do you gain all these experiences when you have under 500 hours? I know this wisdom is important. Yet, very inexperienced Pilots are expected to be a CFI. I was in the military. When I became an instructor in the military I had over 1,000 hours and vast, vast, amount of experiences.
He’s actually a CFI for helicopter as well.
Can you really use notes in front of you?
Yes… You can definitely have an outline of the different tasks with abbreviated notes. As long as you can look up and make eye contact with a DPE and fully explain what you were talking about. Just let him know that you’re going to use your notes to help you stay on track. No harm no foul.
dang! he did not stutter a single time
Getting it done! Part 2 comes out soon! Stay tuned and thanks for subscribing!

great video but unrealistic. i watched this a few days before my CFI checkride and i almost sh*t myself. because i knew that i didnt possess nearly as much knowledge or confidence as this guy in what i was teaching. i passed the ride the first time around, but my experience was nothing like this. maybe next time do it with an actual fresh CFI instead of an ATP rated CFII/MEI with probably 5,000 hours given
Elliott was a real CFI candidate during this video. He had his check right a couple days later. If you follow the PTS outlines and come up with your own notes to follow through with during your check ride, then you can be as fluent as him and stay on track. We recommend standing up at a podium and practicing what you’re going to say while following your notes and making eye contact. With enough practice, you can be just as great as Elliott.
WHAT! Here in the UK one would expect a student pilot to know all of this. The 'examiner's' statements about aerodynamics are mostly garbage.
I don’t see any videos from the UK they’re posted for free, but maybe you can show me something different
This is a guy you love to have in administration, but kept far away from the cockpit. High strung know-it-alls who can't connect to a wide range of personality types.
