Well done Jason, I obtained my 4 year teaching cert in college and finished my flight instructor checkride pretty easily because I know how to teach. That's the key of the checkride. Explain it just like your instructors did, watch videos of how people teach and adopt those strategies or find your own. Also, adapt to the best ways your student learns. Are they more visual, auditory, or kinesthetic type learns. That's why I like to prepare with my words, a model airplane, or videos because each student learns differently. Well done.
I passed my private pilot test earlier in the week. Had an examiner who had been in the business for 47 years and really loved to get into the air. Once I proved I knew how to do a procedure he would show me tricks on how to optimise it slightly. Later in the year, I am planning my big US flying holiday and definitely will sign up for MZeroA online then.
20 years after I got my PPL I decided I wanted to get my CFI. I met with the examiner and flunked the oral part of the exam trying to explain weight and balance of an airplane. Just like you mentioned at the beginning of your podcast he explained to me that it’s not if you are knowledgeable about a subject matter but can you instruct a student pilot the information he needs to not put himself in harms way as he learns to fly. Understanding how much fuel and baggage to put in an airplane is totally different than teaching a new student the importance of the CG and the effect it can have on certain flight characteristics. That was twenty five years ago and I never went back for my CFI check ride.
got my CFI checkride in a week! been learning off your videos all throughout my flight training! Thank you Jason and team!!

Shout-out to all those who, like me, are student pilots who listen to all the podcasts to immerse ourselves in as much aviation knowledge as we can!
