So, I just started using sheppard air for IRA. Did you just memorize the answers without learning the material? Everything seems so abstract from someone who is just trying to get through all the writtens. Did you have to look up any videos to learn at all?
The way the algorithm works. You should go through and memorize the answers. They do have a little section on the side of each question that explains the answer in more detail if you need it. I personally memorize the answers, but it’s imperative that you get through all of the material as quickly as possible because the FAA is constantly updating questions on the written exams. Also Shipperd Air will provide updates to any new questions that were added to the question bank as they receive them. I recommend trying to get through the course in about a week and schedule your exam to prevent any new questions being added before you get there

The first commercial scenario given was the pilot renting the aircraft from the club and getting paid $1000 for the flight. The student answered, "It's a dry lease." As for the fact that he is renting the aircraft (besides operational control), he is the one providing the aircraft; isn't that a 'wet lease'?

I am a trained twin pilot and I can say that I would never have succeeded with rambling knowledge such as this. Surely this is not the standard today. She does not know her stuff.
These were two brand new candidates for their multi rating… They were in the beginning phases of learning, this is not a check ride by any means. luckily, both pilots went onto achieve their CFI, CFII and MEI ratings, and now work for the airlines. I do have a multi engine oral exam posted on my page if you would like to check it out. Also, if you are interested, we have a two-part CFI oral exam as well.
This is a guy you love to have in administration, but kept far away from the cockpit. High strung know-it-alls who can't connect to a wide range of personality types.
Are there any DPE’s here who would say weather this was a sat or unsat oral?
seems very realistic. I will say it's annoying how the student will talk over the DPE and not let him finish and will volunteer information. Some DPE's might get pissed and following you down a rabbit hole or become a little snappy to match that.
This is amazing! Alot of questions were asked, which I had to think twice about before answering. It is easy to overlook some areas when there is so much to cover for the check ride. Thank you for the astounding content!

Don’t know… We don’t make the recordings, we just get the weather lol
great video but unrealistic. i watched this a few days before my CFI checkride and i almost sh*t myself. because i knew that i didnt possess nearly as much knowledge or confidence as this guy in what i was teaching. i passed the ride the first time around, but my experience was nothing like this. maybe next time do it with an actual fresh CFI instead of an ATP rated CFII/MEI with probably 5,000 hours given
Elliott was a real CFI candidate during this video. He had his check right a couple days later. If you follow the PTS outlines and come up with your own notes to follow through with during your check ride, then you can be as fluent as him and stay on track. We recommend standing up at a podium and practicing what you’re going to say while following your notes and making eye contact. With enough practice, you can be just as great as Elliott.

I believe according to the fars u definitely need in physical possession the real certificate, ID, and medical. Had that question come up before.

I don't know if the regs were updated since the weather minimums used here, but currently helicopters operating in class G airspace below 1200 AGL are 1/2 mi CoC in day and 1 mi CoC at night. Deathwish minima, but there they are!

He said, "I cannot do training necessary for your commercial" referring to instrument/simulated instrument training. Is that because he does not have an instrument rating? I thought if you are a CFI, and hold an instrument rating, you are able to instruct for all the commercial requirements. 61.129 doesn't say anything specific. 13:52
I had this question also. I think the issue is "where" the instrument rating is held. I believe its because he holds an instrument rating on his commercial certificate, but not on his flight instructor certificate (CFI vs CFII). Google "Jablecki Intrepretation" and 61.195. Hope this comment was helpful.
