Brought tears to my eyes watching you two with all of those kids dancing at the end....See what happens when people take the time to show love kindness and caring for others they come together as one..If maybe even for a short time.. You have put mark's on their memories just like the marks on the arch in Moab. That will probably last their lifetime to be shared with others..(Much Respect)
Two of my grandsons, ages 3 and 5 are Grande Ronde Native.. they don't know much but I show them videos and such..they usually giggle and run away but the other day the youngest grabbed my hand and started taptap-taptap'ing his feet and showing me how to dance.. cutest, sweetest thing ever. Thank you for sharing your videos. They've been a joy and so much fun to watch!
I would have loved it if we had something like this when I was in school. I grew up in Montana, went to school with Native kids, and yet nothing like this was ever done. Those kids had a blast and they will carry this through their lives and hopefully, they will remember the things you both taught them. Great job!
@@UpSideDownDog52 probably because of all of the abuses and intergenerational trauma (my gues at least). Colonialism tried to destroy Native culture, and it was even illegal to practice (but they failed bwah ha ha ha)
As a family, we try very hard to find time to travel together. Hikes are shorter and at off times to limit contact. This year, we have also cancelled holiday trips with extended family to protect our vulnerable members. We lost four to Covid-19. Watching your video from a year ago helps tremendously. The Arches are now circled on our battered Thomas Brothers maps for 2022. Thank you Patrick. Take care and be safe. 🌵🌵🌵 🌴
Same here. I am all teared up. Thank you, Patrick, for your teaching children. It is a blessing - all that positivity and kindness you are showing the kids and the beauty & hard work put into the dance. And so much more.
Watching you share your culture with those kids by teaching them hoop dancing really warmed my heart. I could not stop smiling. You are such a positive influence. Keep doing what you're doing!
I may look like "Karen" on the outside, but I am free in my mind. Your vlog is not only educational and uplifting, but also technically awesome. Love it. Excellent work. Thank you.
I was watching a video on an Apache Rite of Passage Into Womanhood and this was recommended to me. I am not native American and I don't understand some of the humor/jokes, but I sure do love your channel. I have been binge watching your video's. I am really enjoying learning about your culture.

What a beautiful vlog!!! The natural background, the kids learning from both of you...it fills my heart with happiness. You are truly a happy spark of life.
This is great. Kids seem to have such an appreciation for learning wonderful things, but patience comes in handy! They can be so "in the moment." They will remember your workshop for the rest of their lives. Amazing quote--a life lesson 💗. Utah is so beautiful. I especially love Bryce Canyon and Zion. I really loved the vlog you did at another smaller arch Hoop Dancing in your regalia--beautiful. Your beadwork and feather colors were so amazingly lovely with the setting sun colors. Both vlogs bring tears of gratitude. Thank you. Karin (not that Karen!)
I love that you are teaching young kids the hoop dance. Not just the dance but the significance of it and to treat it respectfully. Thsnk you also for taking us to see the Corona Arch which is so impressive. On one hand I would have loved to swing there But I am happier that that has now been stopped. IDK whether for cultural or safety reasons possibly both. Hello to Joseph and cheers to him for his moondance and fun on the Rocks chasing his hoop. Love.
You are an excellent teacher as well as a storyteller, vlogger, and dancer. Seeing those kids eager to learn and to show their skills - very inspiring video. Thank you.
Corona 😭 Arch Trailhead...no one else is going to say anything about the name. Any way, great vlog. It reminded me of my Greek folk dancing days. We used to teach 6th graders at a local school a few dances for their international culture celebration, and it was always a fun time. I just found your channel about a month ago and have already watch all the natives react videos. Keep it up; I can't wait to see more!
Thank you for the video, guys! The nature is amazing! Dancing is unbelievable! Russian Natives distantly relative to Native Americans have a completely different dance culture, and all of your hoop dance vids are mind-blowing:) Our climbers have a similar tradition of building up small pyramids. They mark the beginning of their route with a hollow pyramid and put info about the group and the route inside. Also they mark important points on the route with smaller pyramids. Of course, they must inform emergencies about their route in advance, but this way makes the search even faster.
Patrick, you will be an amazing Father someday! Not to mention a great Uncle :) Might I also add, you have the most beautiful teeth I have ever seen! I am sure that makes your sister proud. I am Amy from Alaska!
I am a Spanish Teacher, but have incorporated so much about Native Americans into my curriculum. Being in the Americas, I am striving to have more of it brought into the classroom. I love the humor about the buffalo wings. My son is Native, too by the way. Patrick, if you want another mother, I wish I could adopt you. Let us incorporate more Native American teachings into our school system. These are the Americas for God's sake.
Kia kaha Patrick! Thank you for sharing you beautiful work. Lots of love from Far North Queensland, Australia (or lots of love from The colonies, for ex pat Kiwis). NB Cairns is pronounced 'cans' over here. E.g A can of bepsie.

I agree. I grew up in Montana and Alaska and the Native kids were mortified if you asked them anything about Native culture.

Found your UA-cam stuff during Covid 19, sure hope you’re doing ok! Haven’t seen any new videos. You are so inspiring, thanks so much. 🙏
