What??? I was there!!!!!! I literally wanted to go home(AZ) after lol it was amazing I was there as a teacher and my students looked at me so differently after..
I love how you guys show respect for your elders something now adays have been forgotten and I also like the colorful jewelry ...keep up with the good videos....
About ten years ago, I was starting over and my friend dropped my name to someone that needed my skills. From there, I have started climbing back up out of the hole I had dug myself with contacts i can trace back to him. I try my best to help him whenever he needs a hand, but after seeing this, I realize that I need to give him my thanks in words and explain what he did for me.
Someday....... Elders are cute , that is a special event to showcase artist and their talents from navajo nation alot of teaching, knowledge, patients, and generation of culture put into those rugs.. Spiderworld👍👍👍👍👍 proud
For what ever reason, when I see you dance it touches my soul and because I’m an emotional being I cry , but I live and respect your work and words of wisdom ☺️🙏 thank you
This must be a typical Native past time...my oldest daughter loves to SING 🎤 Disney Classics on a Road Trip...PATRICK I Enjoyed this episode so much... whenever I see a Native Elder it reminds me of my Grandmother who raised me. 🤔🙇🏻♀️🙏🏽👍🏽💗🕊☺️
I was born and raised in Gallup NM. Then I moved to the Park City area for work, then I moved to a rez in northern NV. I'm back in utah now but this vid has me crying. So many memories. Thank you ❤❤❤
Wow! It was great to see Linda Myers, and all those beautiful rugs. And all those gorgeous Weaving Grandmothers. Makes me want to go back to Deer Valley for that. When I lived in SL they had it down in the town of Park City. Thanks for helping me remember.
Omg I know this was a year ago but I’m telling you, the very first piece I saw I got chills everywhere!!! I would LOVE to purchase that piece and at the same time help to support her and her fam! I think that would be such an honor and blessing! Setting this as a future goal! Thank you Patrick, you are such a doll, I love watching you and Jacob’s vids, you’re so silly and cute! I love how you enjoy life!!! And looking forward to you dancing in this and any video! Always love that! Much respect, Sue. Awesome and gracious vid, again!!! You calm my soul, that’s for real, I appreciate you and thank you for sharing so much information, I take it all in. And yes, I can totally see the sweet elders as a line of eagles!!! Blessings to you, always!
I cannot thank you enough for posting these videos and sharing your culture. Or should I say our culture? I have learned so much from watching your videos and following your links. They are truly uplifting. And your energy is so loving, respectful, and grateful that I can’t help but proclaim that I love you at the end of each video. I am a 60 year old black woman living in New York but I feel such a connection to you, I feel as though I found my tribe. By the way my family history traces back to the Blackfoot tribe have a blessed day, little brother
The culture and depth of history is just amazing. I love the native philosophies about the ancestors, how to live a life and how to die. How much better this world would be if everyone could embrace these beliefs. Oh yeah - your dance was fantastic and the rugs were beautiful and super cool!
Love your content👍. You're showing your culture in a very nice and informative way. I'm African but it's always beautiful to see different cultures, their attire and traditions. Much respect for what you are doing
I rewatched this video for like 7th time... i would so like to visit an event like this. So much beautiful craftsmanship and performances! And the Tree of Life rug you showed, we have very similar ethnic design of the same Tree of Life in Lithuania! I find so many similarities in our traditional patterns. Of course it all comes down to same or similar techniques that dictate what patterns can be used in all traditional art, but still so fun to find similarities!
PatrickisaNavajo, Wow, I've been learning and loving your videos but this is the first I've seen you alone , dancing, all that talent just hanging out, for the world to see. I loved all the artwork and oh the rugs are glorious! I'd leave broke, no matter how much I went in with, lol. I'm going to have to look up 'bluebird flour'! Thankyou for doing your whole channel!👍🥰😘✌😷🎃
Also somewhere I have home video of a parade that was held in or around Gallup before everyone else had cameras handy. My grandfather was into photography. I'd love to share them if I can find them. Some beautiful dances I've never seen again are on it. Keep up the good work! Thank you.
After I skipped over the annoying "Driving Montage" the rest of this episode was amazing. It made me cry a little to see my Din'e trading goods of such fine craftsmanship. Loved the dancing and the wonderful Din'e woman's voice and song in the background.
Lol "annoying driving montage" well at least you're being honest I appreciate that. It is a wonder how our elders have been able to keep up their expert craftsmanship. It was my 2nd year dancing there and upon being asked a 2nd time I immediately said Yes. I wasn't able to know my Grandma so anytime I'm around other elders I have so much respect.
I was just joking about the drive montage, I enjoy seeing our beautiful “Momma Nay Nay” Mother Nature out the window. I watched it again and have to give you props on the Turquoise necklace, repping the sacred stone my brother! I just went to a POW wow in Cherokee North Carolina and saw the 2019 World Champion of hoop dancing Cody Boettner (Creek) of South Daytona, Florida open up the ceremony.
I have watched more of your dance videos and I’m very impressed with your skills bro. My sweety who is Native as well thought your jokes in the front page newspaper vlog were hilarious, we fell out with laughter. P.S. are you Mormon? You mentioned doing a “service project” and it made me wonder. No shame, just curious.
This calms me. Yer a good teacher, Patrick...this is my " church" .. Also my brother is a hoop dancer....idk my culrure nearly as much as i need to! Is hoop dancing jyst fer men? Great to see this. Our elders are so important...
I have been enjoying your videos very much. This one and the delicate arch video both resonated with me very much. The respect and appreciation, mixed with play and humor, as well as glimpses of the First Nation Wisdom that does not translate into words, is very powerful. Thank you! ☆♡☆ Ks
