@@richardcheese9429 Ah dang well maybe you'll get bumped to a 25 then if they make any changes! When did you order? I ordered mine Aug 2 so it'll be about 3-3.5 months which is what they told me at the start of it

You wont be disappointed. I just traded in my 2020 XLt 2.3L for a 2024 Royale blue XLt sport with the 2.7L i got a spray in bedliner getting it ceramic coated and did the rust proofing and undercoat. The 2.7 is drastically better i loved the 2.3 but noticed how much smoother it runs.
The 2.7 EB/10 speed is a sweetheart of a powertrain in the F150 and has proven its longevity. I would imagine it’s a bit snappier given the ranger is 500 lbs lighter. I want to love the Ranger but with its cost (especially with the 2.7) verses the incentives on the F150s there just isn’t enough price difference to justify the smaller truck. The best feature of my F150 is the back seat and flat floor. I’m constantly putting stuff back there. But it is a pig when it comes to garage space.
I have the 2.7L in my F-150 STX Super Crew 4x4. I have the e locking 3.73 diff. I have no regrets with not opting for the 5.0 or 3.5EB. 10K miles into ownership (14 months). It's super reliable and plenty powerful. I get about 15 miles to the gallon almost exclusively driving up and down main ST in stop and go traffic everyday. I did get an auto start/stop eliminator when they were on sale on prime deals for $80. It was money well spent. I know they say that the starter and the battery and all that are more rugged to compensate for the Auto Start/Stop, but A, I don't believe it, and B. I don't like Ford, or the EPA, or whoever, forcing me to not be able to disable it permanently. They can shove the CAFE ratings up their butts!
Absolutely beautiful truck! Congratulations..... That is exactly the way I would order my Ranger as well. The cactus grey is awesome. I agree, the Ford engines are smoother than the Toyota engines. I'm into F150s, a 2024 F150 Powerboost I just took delivery of and some F250 and F350s for my business. Slowly downsizing and selling off the business to our son and nephews. Our RV is the right size to be towed by one of these trucks. Happy and safe motoring!
After test driving a Tacoma TRD Off Road access cab in '21 (disappointing), I ordered a 22 Ranger XLT FX4 4 door Supercab (6 ft box). The Tacoma was $44K cad versus my Ranger at $39K cad (30K usd). I like the full size analog tach that was included with the XLT, but not Lariat. After more than two years I still love driving this truck. Not one issue and no recalls. I've set it up for off road camping and touring. 32" Toyo AT and Eibach suspension set at two inch lift. Plenty of power and great gas mileage. 24 mpg highway. Disappointed they stopped making the supercab. I'm a retired mechanic and single, so no need for a crew cab. I removed the rear seats to make room for a 12V fridge, fresh water tank and storage bins. I can sleep in the 6 ft bed but prefer my hardtop RTT mounted on a Leer cap. It's a terrific truck, you made a good choice.
This is exactly what I was considering as a plan b but I finally got the RR. Great choice, this setup definitely has some advantages ( good power, fuel economy, towing capability)
I went from the 2.3l Ranger to a 3.0l in the Ranger Raptor. Honestly even though I hated the sound of the 2.3l it was almost just as fast 0-60 and had a higher top speed at 110mph. Both had the ProCal tune.

That's a nice truck you have.
I've been shopping trucks for the better part of 2 years now, glad to know Crossroad's Ford was a good experience as I'll probably be going to dealers soon instead of just shopping online. I live nearby so it was wild hearing a local dealership named.
I'll pick up my 2024 Ranger Lariat on Saturday. Using it to tow a 2000 lb trailer. Bought it off the dealer lot. Comes with GoodYear Wranger Territory AT tires which were quiet on the highway but offer better traction offroad. I may do a 1-week review as well.
Great motor. Have it in my ‘23 Bronco, smooth and quiet and tons of torque. Averaging 19.3 mpg over 13k miles, 60% highway. The 2.3 is a great base motor but the torque and smoothness of the V6 elevate the drive experience to a higher level.

Really good looking truck and well equipped. I can't believe Ford is not using the push button start on this trim level. It is pretty close to a deal breaker for me. It is just so much more convenient to leave the key fob in your pocket.
Yeah as I mentioned its weird to now leave my phone in my pocket but take my key out. I get not including the whole touch to open part but wish they had at least kept the PTS! Maybe there will be an upgrade path in the future.
Yea, it’s just terrible that you have to insert a key to be able to drive the truck, oh the humanity!😖🙄. I have read where folks won’t buy a certain model of truck because it doesn’t have a heated steering wheel… poor girls
I’d go lonepeak overland for topper! I’d also be mindful of putting any led light bar in the grill for reasons of cooling issues. Spod and Auxbeam are really good but look up trigger system
The lane keep assist on Ford requires a occasional wiggle of the steering wheel. That's how it senses hands. There's no way to adjust except to turn it off. All Fords have this issue.
I owned a 2.3L 2020 Ranger for 2 years, and the truck was fine. But, I made the mistake of getting an extend cab, abd it wasn't working out so I went with a full size truck. With the ability to get the 2.7L in the Ranger a Crew Cab will be on my radar soon. I'm looking forward to updates on yours as time goes along. BTW, in my 2020 you could defeat the auto start/stop by plugging a low voltage LED night lite in the 120V plug on the back of the console. I just fools the computer into thinking the engine isn't ready for start/stop. A couple bucks, and it was gone. It may work in the new truck if you decide you want to stop that system. Also, I live in your area so it was good to hear that Crossroads was cool with the X-Plan.
I would wait until 2k miles and change the break in oil before I started running the piss out of it doing 0-60, just my opinion, you do you. Nice truck though, I've been looking at the Frontier Pro4x but with the 2.7 the Ranger is definitely worth consideration.

My FIL has a Frontier Pro4x and it's nice; a very good engine, but the ranger handles night and day better and is better put together...his is older however and the 2025 updates would make it worth considering.
I fully agree about the lack of push button start. Mid level toyota corolla and base level Honda Civic are push button start. For Ford to hold that as a premium feature is pretty weak.
The lack of 2.7 is the reason the rangers sales were slow its really picking up now though, nice truck Im getting me one Ill test drive with both engines, the 2.3 is sufficient for me but we will see
The 2.3 I tested was quite nice! I just wanted something a little more! I'm betting the 2.7 release is why you'll see discounts on the 2.3s for the next few months...
Little of both. They felt like the material was cheap, almost vinyl like and they sat odd. I like the two tone and the embossed pattern of the fabric ones better and it may have changed how they sat…kind how high ended seats in sports cars use suede to hold you in place.
@@NARoutdoors, thanks for the reply. I traded my '16 F150 XLT 2.7 in for a '23 XLT 2.7 in June and quickly discovered that the driver seat is awful. My right leg goes numb and the overall shape is horrible. I wished I had paid closer attention on the test drives, but I was focused on engine and suspension between different trucks. After driving a few other recent F150s, I think they messed up the seat design and it just doesn't work for me, so I'm considering a Ranger with a 2.7 for towing in Colorado. Of course, the seat comfort means everything to me now, so I need to be extra diligent when test driving in the future. It would also be great to be able to do an extended test drive to avoid buyer's remorse again.
Beautiful truck, I like the color too. How is that Stubby antenna working out for you? I tried one on my '21 Lariat and the reception was terrible so I kept the stock one
Honestly wouldn’t know. I cannot remember the last time I listened to the radio. I’m either listening to books on tape or pod casts. Even so with my camper plans, it’s a must have.
I just ordered the Sport with touring pack that has the Auxiliary switches , for that exact reason of adding additional lighting & accessories makes it alot easier. Im surprised its not avalable as an add on from ford in the XLT
You and me both! Its a poor choice for the North American customer. I've got a work around that I think is gonna be rather sweet and may be better in some ways then the aux switches: make sure to subscribe so you don't miss it!
You better keep your start/stop turned off. Starting and stopping the engine stops the oil from flowing through the turbos, which will wear them out early. Also start and stop does not save gas.
I’ve had a 10’ explorer sport trac limited with 4.0L v6 for the past 14 yrs. Boy it’s been a money pit . The major repairs started at 95k mileage timing chains replaced in 2022 and valves $6880 then in this year replaced transmission 108 kmileage $4k . I hope to God that’s it for a long time. But hey it’s paid for. 😢
absolutely! I was actually on a j-brace wait list before i ordered the truck...and 100% agree on the Azure Gray; if it wasn't a ~1k upcharge I probably would have gotten it.
What state are you from? It will be cool to do a comparison of your 2.7 Ranger and my previous generation 2.3. And even with the ford performance tune yours have higher numbers on HP and TQ so I think it will be very interesting to see results.
My Lariat has been shipped. I ordered Azure Grey but I think almost immediately wished I had ordered this colour. I really think it might be the best colour option but I recognize that is subjective. I plan to use the stock wheels as winter wheels and probably get them painted. Will order some 18 X 9 wheels and plenty of options available. I agree with your thoughts on the running boards. I asked them to take them off for me but reviewing the order it looks like it will arrive with them on. Looking forward to seeing what you do to your truck from this point forward
We looked closely at azure gray and my wife and daughter both chose that as their first choice; its a beautiful color but i couldn't justify the extra cost just for a color change.
Very nice truck! You have the exact spec and options I've been considering. I might've missed it but how much did the price come out to? I have access to X plan as well.
@@Jim-j6u i’m aware of the issue and also the issue the Broncos had with valve stems, but am hopeful that my truck won’t have these issues or if the issues arise they will have a definitive fix before it’s out of warranty.
My experience with my 2 2.7 powered F150’s is 5,000 mile oil changes, Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic, don’t get on it till it’s warmed up and let it sit idling when you get home to let it cool the Turbo’s maybe a minute and I haven’t had the first problem. In my F150 it’s fast, bet it’s a rocket ship in the Ranger! Beautiful Truck Congratulations!!!❤️
This is the exact build out on Build and Price I’ve been mulling over. What’s your payload with this configuration? Sorry if I missed it, got kids running around.
Saying that the 2.7 is drastically better than the 2.3 is a bit of a stretch. I had a 2.7 twin turbo in my fusion sport. I loved the power and torque , dont get me wrong. What i didnt like was the gas mileage. I traded it for my 2024 ranger lariat with the 2.3. With the gearing and the 10 speed tranny , this engine is more than you need. If you have the money and dont worry about gas mileage , then go with the 2.7. If you are concerned about it , like most of us are , then go with the 2.3. The hauling capacity and towing capacity are the same on the truck for both engines so there is no real advantage to the 2.7. That is what made my decision not to wait for the 2.7 , already had it , hated the gas mileage on the fusion with that engine so i chose the 2.3 and got my truck in april. Im getting 4-6 MPG better in my new truck than i did in my sporty fusion with the 2.7.
The 2.7 should have better efficiency once load is applied and as i'll have a wedge camper on it full time come January that will be beneficial. If it were not for that I'd have gotten the 2.3.
7:45 Are those front seats in full recline? ASAP, check ALL fluids levels in vehicle, front rear diff, transfer case etc. Change oil more than Ford recommendation.
@@NARoutdoors Be sure to use turbo rated Synthetic. SP and ILSAC GF6 are the important ratings to keep warranty. Motorcraft is highly rated or Pennzoil Platinum is what I use now in my 22 Ranger. Every 6 months or 5K miles with a Motorcraft oil filter.
@@MikeR55 I was actually looking at the Kirkland brand 5w-30 full synthetic. Meets requirements for Ford WSS M2C946-B1, M2C946-A M2C929-A, M2C961-A as well as SP and GF6...Its inexpensive enough I wont have any concerns doing 3-5k changes...
@@NARoutdoors Yes I noticed that too while at Costco yesterday. Same high spec SP oil. It was on sale too, 39.00 CAD for two jugs. I used to know who made it, will look that up again.
"Hands on the wheel". I don't think it has anything to do with your hands actually on the wheel. The system senses steering wheel movement, so if you're on a straight stretch and don't need to correct your path, then it just assumes your hands aren't on the wheel if you don’t move it.
What % can you save using X-Plan? I see $4000 off Rangers where I live. If X-Plan is a similar discount, then it a slam dunk. But if its only a small saving, I am confident going into battle with sales people.
@@NARoutdoors Thanks for responding and congrats on the new truck. I found this video because I am considering purchasing the exact same spec. In Texas, the admin fees are limited to $150. I am trying to decide if I want to wait on an inventory vehicle and get the dealer discount or go sign up at the Mustang club to get the X-Plan benefits. I do see $3000-$4000 off inventory vehicles, though they are not the V6 versions at this time. I suspect the V6s will also have deals if I wait long enough. While I do not have the X-Plan pricing in front of me, I have a gut feeling that I could better it via negotiation. Though of course its a ton of hassle with many dealers.
@@thelonglastexpert the Lariat *might* have auto too. Not 100%. I’m in the same camp as the guy who made this and I don’t like the Lariat wheels so if I go with a Ranger, it’ll be XLT as well.
For that price, you should have keyless ignition. Still, I'll wait for a hybrid version of the Ranger with the 2.3 and electric motor with generator (rumor is, it is coming to Australia and New Zealand in 2025).
@@NARoutdoors Yeah I got on that list as soon as I found out about it as well. It sucks but hopefully they get them back in stock soon. Congrats on the truck!

It is an odd choice on fords part, I knew what i was getting into when I placed my order however. My guess is that ford didnt want to include all the wiring etc for the total push button, walk up unlock etc... I do wish they compromised with just push button start but not the touch to open instead of the key. I will say that the key is a great fidget toy...click, click, click, click...😁
actually working on a video on that right now...most of my driving is very stop and go (carpool lines) etc but i plan on doing a loop of our cities beltway (a few times to try to see the difference between the different drive modes and economy)
I’m surprised you didn’t add the reinforcement kit bracket that ford is making customer install To allow more weight added on the bed rails. Currently from factory, your bed rails cannot carry anything 88lbs or heavier while in motion. You need to buy the reinforcement kit accessories to reinforce the bed rails and allow keep added weight was what I watched in that TFL review. How disappointing.
@@NARoutdoors hell yeah man! Nice. Check out packout camper, oru tenfold designs, and explore elevated. I think they’re what I’m considering. Ovlnd too if you don’t want to go for the wedge.
Check my latest update: i've found it to be beneficial. I'm starting to really see the humor in some of the aftermarket products that are being introduced : search for ford bronco key holder and you'll see aftermarket option for the PBS keys to mount the fob on the dash while driving...
If I've learned anything at all over the years it's: don't trust a man to honestly review anything to you that he spent over $1000 on. For cars and trucks, that's an obvious no-go. You can sit and listen if you want but don't expect an honest review of the product. When you pay this much money for something you would be amazed what your mind does on a subconscious level to convince you that you made a good purchase. I'm sure there is some liberal arts college term for this deep in the psychology department literature (what a goofy pseudo-science btw). And I'm no exclusion to that rule. Don't ask me for an honest review of my John Deere x330, my MacBook Pro M3 16inch, or my home that I own, and definitely don't ask me for an honest review of my 2021 Chevy Colorado Z71 because, as much as I try to be honest and I'll throw in my criticism where I think I see them to be fair, I'm not going to be an impartial reviewer. I know that most of you come to videos like these to rationalize your own purchase of whatever vehicle the review is about but just keep that in mind.

The 2.3 is peppy and I bet it'll be perfect with a little tuning.
The 2.3 I tested was quite nice! I just wanted something a little more! I'm betting the 2.7 release is why you'll see discounts on the 2.3s for the next few months...
Thanks for the video! I’m psyched to hear about the 2.7!
What didn’t you like about the Lariat seats? Looks or comfort?
@@rumitcu that’s strange that you think the seats are different, they are the same as always
@@pathunter7003, nope, definitely different. Different foam, 1" longer seat base front to back, and possibly different shape to upper back.
Can you share your OTD price?
I just ordered the Sport with touring pack that has the Auxiliary switches , for that exact reason of adding additional lighting & accessories makes it alot easier. Im surprised its not avalable as an add on from ford in the XLT
You and me both! Its a poor choice for the North American customer. I've got a work around that I think is gonna be rather sweet and may be better in some ways then the aux switches: make sure to subscribe so you don't miss it!
what was the price you paid? thank you.
Nice. I’m liking the Azure Grey myself. You are aware of the topper weight restrictions and need for reinforcement brackets, right?
absolutely! I was actually on a j-brace wait list before i ordered the truck...and 100% agree on the Azure Gray; if it wasn't a ~1k upcharge I probably would have gotten it.
@@NARoutdoors Didn’t know that they were that expensive. I’ve seen aftermarket knockoffs for a hundred online.
@@bmac9936the paint…
@@bmac9936 I think he is referencing the paint cost. Azure gray is the best looking, but for $1000, that would be a big no for me.
@@NARoutdoors $1000 for just gray paint is absurd
What state are you from? It will be cool to do a comparison of your 2.7 Ranger and my previous generation 2.3. And even with the ford performance tune yours have higher numbers on HP and TQ so I think it will be very interesting to see results.
@@efrainserranonegron5490 North Carolina!
Are you still happy with the color? I’m undecided on what color I would get.
Exceptionally so. I like it better every day!
I think its the best color but as said by video owner, I could not justify spending $1000 for it when you have other choices like Cactus gray.
@ 07:05 it does show the boost psi, and oil psi and oil temp though?
ua-cam.com/video/Q78oVmnXES8/v-deo.htmlsi=9gU0wkoPESP55qsL will explain it better
Very nice truck! You have the exact spec and options I've been considering. I might've missed it but how much did the price come out to? I have access to X plan as well.
48 and change once delivered.
Great video. Did you have any concerns on the 2.7 and the cam phaser issues that seem to still be happening on the Bronco?
@@Jim-j6u i’m aware of the issue and also the issue the Broncos had with valve stems, but am hopeful that my truck won’t have these issues or if the issues arise they will have a definitive fix before it’s out of warranty.
I don’t think the 2.7s have had any cam phaser issues. There’s a lot less of them compared to the 3.5 so that could be why it’s not as known
@@dawsongranger4940 I am on the Bronco forums and there have been a lot and some in the 2023 models after they claimed they fixed it.
@@poppyneese1811 Good to know. How many miles? Thanks
This is the exact build out on Build and Price I’ve been mulling over. What’s your payload with this configuration? Sorry if I missed it, got kids running around.
just under 1400. A little less then i hoped for but still way better then many of the competitors
@@NARoutdoors that’s still on par with my 2012 F150 Lariat which is impressive for what it is though.
Change oil more than Ford recommendation.
seats are in normal driving position. Ill look into fluids (once i figure out how to) and i plan on doing synthetic changes every 5k.
@@MikeR55 I think Warren oil makes it?
"Hands on the wheel". I don't think it has anything to do with your hands actually on the wheel. The system senses steering wheel movement, so if you're on a straight stretch and don't need to correct your path, then it just assumes your hands aren't on the wheel if you don’t move it.
That price point with a keyed ignition is insulting.
What % can you save using X-Plan? I see $4000 off Rangers where I live. If X-Plan is a similar discount, then it a slam dunk. But if its only a small saving, I am confident going into battle with sales people.
slightly below invoice but more importantly it caps the dealer fees at like 150...
With forscan you can bypass the active shutter air thing.then take them out you don't need them thats epa! And their bs.then install lights
I pulled the grill recently and found there's actually quite a bit of space. I'll have an install video on the lights i chose in the next week or two.

It’s criminal for that price no push button start
It is an odd choice on fords part, I knew what i was getting into when I placed my order however. My guess is that ford didnt want to include all the wiring etc for the total push button, walk up unlock etc... I do wish they compromised with just push button start but not the touch to open instead of the key. I will say that the key is a great fidget toy...click, click, click, click...😁

$47K, big nope!!!
