    Iam currently making a transfer from Cinema 4D to Unreal and jeez it blows my mind how powerful and easy to use this software is. These tutorials really help me to find the features in Unreal that I would know how to use in Cinema 4D. And every time Unreal just takes the win. Can’t wait to be as comfortable in Unreal as iam in Cinema 4D

    In your example where you've matched 2 clips together, the 2nd clip then has a pivot which is miles away from beneath it, so if you're trying to rotate only that 2nd clip on the spot from where it is (So that the blend transition turns slightly) it rotates around where the starting pivot is located... How to rotate from where that 2nd clip starts?

      On a slightly different note but BP related - in your opinion - do you think it is possible to create a customisable "physics-based stuntman BP" which would allow a user to have a character e.g. walking/running, (A) react to an explosion i.e be thrown in the air by the chaos force of the explosion - (B) have ragdoll blended with animation of arms and legs flailing (C) hit an object with collision, transitioning to full ragdoll and (D) once it rests on a ground/collision object character blends/transitions to an animation e.g. getting up, rolling in pain? OR is it probably just easier to animate the whole thing and bring it in as an fbx?

    I want to animate in unreal for VFX mixing with live action...but even following this video was completely daunting and confusing. Zero budget to pay to learn...any recommendations for free tutorials or workshops for unreal? Really have a crazy creative mind but can't get a hold of the tools and know how needed.

    Thanks. I used the exact same characters and animation from mixamo, but Enable root motion doesnt work; the character is still moving and not standing still in sequencer. Halp!

      It’s an emissive decal that I parented to his body. Simple and easy to customize

    nice video! thanks for your effort... but how to edit the animation to fix some errors, like foot contact with the ground, and body intersection when the actor fall, or the leg intersection the other character when he slash him

      Any skeletal mesh has the option to Bake to FK Rig or you can create a control rig for your character and “Bake to Control Rig” for even more control (IK control)

    where does a noob learn Character modeling texturing rigging and animation. I bought a course on Udemy but it specializes in games which is great im learning alot about blueprint but havent been able to apply this to the 4 main characteristics of characters you mentioned

    I've an issue with the run animation. After applying the root motion settings, the run animation just runs and later the character teleports to the original position. I've applied motion blending to this animation and the slicing animation after, yet of no avail. Can you please help me with this?

    hey whenever i parent a weapon to a character and like even a slight movement in the level sequence the gun moves far away and it doesn't even stick back to the character if i re-position it as well.

      When you parent something, the position of the object swaps from Global Space to the Space of whatever it’s attached to. Usually why that happens is because you keyframed it before attaching it, causing it to always jump back to its old position. Hope that helps!

      You would need to use the IKRetargeting system and retarget your Mixamo animation onto a Metahuman rig. Jobutsu has a great tutorial on this!

    How to use physics with the characters so they can walk up hills for example?

      You’ll want to look into animation blueprints and the Third Person Character template that comes with Unreal. If you ever want to use those inside of sequencer you’ll need to play your game and drive your character with a controller or by using your keyboard and THEN use TakeRecorder to save all of the animation data.       Your options are to create a Control Rig for your character and animate inside Unreal, otherwise just create the animation in your software of choice and import it!

    When I try to render or simulate the world is just a mess the character falls dead and the camera is completely is a different place

      Turn off ‘Simulate physics’ on your character and make sure your camera isn’t parented to anything and is the camera selected in your Camera Cut track!

    Character keeps doing a 180 turn when I motion blend, what do I do?

      Motion Blending can be buggy at times. Usually I would either turn off/on the Match Bone from Previous/Next until it works or rebuild the timeline

    I actually hate this this type of video, cuz usually people just make clickbait naming, and say obvious basic things. But you're on another level. For sua ch short format the tips you're able to put in the video is basically essenttial.

    How would we do this but for our own animations we make in like Rokoko or something. Not every scene we want twerking or sword fighting. Mixamo animations are a bit cheesy. I'm at the point of wantting to do my own and then do what you did in the video. Hoping Knowing Ai goes public soon also for this..

      You’ll want to use the IK Retargeting tools to retarget Rokoko motion capture data onto another Skeleton’s rig

      I know it's been two months, but you may want to look into Cascadeur to make your own animations, it's pretty cool, even though I just started using it. It uses a sort of AI to extrapolate the positions between the primary poses, and it can move the whole body naturally when you move a part of the body.
