i feel star wars has two types of fans, the toxic ones that hate EVERYTHING coming out and the other that understands this stuff and that its very vast. i love all the side stories. i love the expanse its adding. i hardly EVER pay attention to reviews anymore because its just toxic as hell
Star Wars as a whole just needs to be able to find a way to where they can make stories around every era without having to focus on just one like they have been doing for the last however many years For example, it be like me recommending that they center the next trilogy of films on a completely new time. I agree, that would be a great tie in to the Plagueis novel. But, unfortunately I also agree, that probably won't happen. Dave Filoni and his team are huge on legends so it could happen later.

Rereading Darth Plagueis right now, there is a lot of mention of Darth Tenebrous's master creating a ripple in the dark side that almost had the Jedi catch the attention of the Sith. I don't think it'll be the same exact thing, but I want to look for some nod from that in the book in this show
I think that rather than lie about finding and killing a sith it would be really interesting to see them deny they found a sith. Like have the main characters fight and kill the sith then give their report to the counsel only for them to be like “it wasn’t really a sith, probably just someone who studied them, and we know it can’t be a sith because they are extinct” I think that would add a whole other layer to the downfall of the Jedi. But that’s just what I would like to see

I love Star Wars Explained. Especially when he talks about what happened in each episode of a show, and easter eggs. You know, when he... explains... Star Wars. I never read any of the books (to have them all would bring me to bankruptcy, and they would simply get lost due to my family moving stuff around). And there are also links that I never made that he explains. For example, Asajj Ventress in Bad Batch. If it wasn't for him, I never would've known that she "died" before, and some of her lines made sense after knowing that. Stuff like that that I only know from watching his videos explaining everything

I’ve loved the books I’ve read in High Republic and even though I love the stories we’ve gotten from the Skywalker era, it’s refreshing that we are finally getting to explore brand new characters away from that part of the timeline. I will still be the first in line for Skeleton Crew, but let’s take a dip together in unfamiliar territory!
Finally a show outside of the Skywalker saga and not confined to the same 60 years 🤣. Old Republic & High Republic are definitely the best routes they should take moving forward

The idea that there can NOT be a Sith in The Acolyte as it would break canon is simply false. Yoda said in The Phantom Menace that "always two there are". Maybe I'm crazy but doesn't "always" mean "always"??? Why is the Star Wars fan community confused on why some in the council don't believe there could be Sith still around? It seems obvious to me the Yoda knows more than the rest of the council.
You are exactly correct. Yoda would be around 750 years old at this time. He would have to know knowledge about the Sith just because of his age and being around the galaxy for so many centuries. We saw in the clone wars where he had the faces fear and his fear was the dark side inside of him. I would personally like to see a younger Yoda in this series that is on the council that is not the grandmaster of the council along with him having a Padawan learner. Obviously, he will not dominate the show, but it would be nice to have an episode or two with him in it with a Padawan. Maybe this will give him a chance to explain what he meant in the Phantom Menace.
Ur missing the fact that the Jedi believed the Sith have been extinct for a millennia, and yet the High Republic is hundreds of years before Prequels and Sith exist now. It doesn't add up simply cause the Jedi will be aware sith exist in this time period now
@@seasnek7024 It didn't add up before either, this is actually an opportunity to make it add up. The Jedi Order believes the Sith are extinct after they were eradicated in a Jedi-Sith war. And yet Yoda in episode II knows about the Rule of Two, a Sith doctrine implemented by Darth Bane AFTER the war that "destroyed" the Sith. The only way for him to know that is if he or other Jedi found some evidence of it in the years during which the Sith are believed to be extinct. Edit: I'm unsure about the time chronology but if memory serves Yoda is born some 80-ish years after the Sith are destroyed.

The sith in the trailer has a mask. You only mask for a reveal. I think she’s the big bad.
I seem to remember that when Disney took over that they explicitly said that any books were no longer considered canon; I have never read any of them so it never bothered me, but cool if I'm wrong; I think people who have invested deeply in the extended story beyond the movies and TV shows should be rewarded for it.

That mask reminds me of the Mask of Exim Panshard from Shadow of the Sith. In that book it was worn by an Acolyte of the Beyond, allowing a long dead Sith Lord to possess her.

Honestly most of them are just teenagers who grew up with the prequels and don’t even care for the originals. Saying that cause I was like that, but I have faith that a lot of them will just grow up and figure out how to form their own opinions and all that
Lately been thinking of the OG Clone Wars animated shorts. Asajj proclaims herself a Sith to Dooku when they first meet. A proclamation that Dooku scoffs at and quickly dismisses. Point of View is a big thing in the SWU. Asajj and potentially our "Sith" in this series can say they are Sith but does that mean the Jedi will believe them? Does that even mean they ARE Sith, even if they BELIEVE themselves to be? EXCITED FOR THIS SHOW!
Will master Yoda make an appearance. If he does, that would be awesome to see a little younger Yoda possibly with him having a Padawan learner. I know that would be fan service but for me, I would love to see a younger Yoda in this series. not being the Jedi grandmaster but just a Jedi master on the council with a Padawan going on missions. I am very excited for this new chapter in Star Wars.

If the character with the red lightsaber is indeed a Sith Lord, I would prefer they almost get the information back to the council but end up getting killed before they can similar to the end of Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter. It would really emphasize all the stuff that had to go wrong to cause the collapse of the Republic in the Prequel Trilogy.
I think it’s a bit early for either of them, especially Plagueis. But that’s only a good thing as far as I’m concerned because new things are exiting and people get really defensive when newer stories interfere with the legends characters

I think Mae has a twin sister who's killing Jedi. Master Sol is sent to capture Mae but she convinces him that she's not the murderer, then both run against time to prove she's innocent and we'll see some action like in TCW when Ahsoka was trying to prove her innocence, facing good guys and bad guys alike. I hope it's not that and if it is that then I hope is very well done cause it's a story that has been told many times before. However I'm happy to see a show set outside the Skywalker saga timeframe.

For a short time they were not earning as much as they needed to (not exactly losing money but I get it, same difference) and that's all of Disney, meaning SW + MCU + everything else. But that has long since passed. It may happen again but that remains to be seen.

The problem with shows like this is that we ultimately know what happens and compare how it fits into the Skywalker saga. They also can't introduce new weaponry because we'll just wonder where was that back then. They really need to continue the story from Rey and move forward. Introduce new threats, throw in some callbacks for nostalgia, but come up with fresh ideas.
Yeah I you go at warp speed to the Phantom menace. They have roughly 100 years to play going forward and 100 years or so going backwards. Plenty of content to show and plenty of new stuff to discover.
I definitely can see the mystery baddie being a Sith. I think we all have this idea of an unbroken, uncontested chain of Sith under the Rule of 2 starting with Darth Bane reaching all the way to Darth Sidious and Vader. But we all watched Darth Sidious have 3 different apprentices: Maul, Tyranus & Vader. Heck we even watched Maul claim to be Sith when he took Savage Oppress as his apprentice with mind to challenge Sidious & Tyranus. These situations can easily be played out in The Acolyte or any number of other of scenarios, maybe the former smuggler guy got his hands on something that makes him believe he became one or he is possessed by that mask like Darth Momin did in the Vader comic. Lots of ways to make the antagonist a Sith without breaking canon.
So can someone explain to me exactly what is canon in the Star Wars universe and what isnt? Because in the Star Trek universe, the rule of thumb has always been “whats said, mentioned, seen or referenced on screen in the shows or films is canon”. And most of this 1000 year history in Star Wars Ive never heard of before.
Star Wars had an expanded universe from its creation in 1977 though George Lucas never really cared about any of it. When Disney bought Star Wars in 2013 they categorised all old EU content as “legends”. Canon is everything released after 2013 the only things released before 2013 that are still considered Canon are the original trilogy, prequel trilogy, the 2008 clone wars animated movie and series (not the earlier 2d clone wars animation that is considered legends). @@pwningo3o4 Actually it's everything released after April 24th in 2014. The Dawn of the Jedi-Comics, Maul: Lockdown, Kenobi (the novel) and Honor Among Thieves all released in that same year and all of them are still from Legends.

Dagan was a High Republic Jedi. Tanalorr was destroyed by the Nihil, so roughly a hundred years before Acolyte. Doubt it or Dagan will play any role

That mask reminds me of the Mask of Exim Panshard from Shadow of the Sith. In that book it was worn by an Acolyte of the Beyond, allowing a long dead Sith Lord to possess her.

Lately been thinking of the OG Clone Wars animated shorts. Asajj proclaims herself a Sith to Dooku when they first meet. A proclamation that Dooku scoffs at and quickly dismisses. Point of View is a big thing in the SWU. Asajj and potentially our "Sith" in this series can say they are Sith but does that mean the Jedi will believe them? Does that even mean they ARE Sith, even if they BELIEVE themselves to be? EXCITED FOR THIS SHOW!
Will master Yoda make an appearance. If he does, that would be awesome to see a little younger Yoda possibly with him having a Padawan learner. I know that would be fan service but for me, I would love to see a younger Yoda in this series. not being the Jedi grandmaster but just a Jedi master on the council with a Padawan going on missions. I am very excited for this new chapter in Star Wars.

If the character with the red lightsaber is indeed a Sith Lord, I would prefer they almost get the information back to the council but end up getting killed before they can similar to the end of Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter. It would really emphasize all the stuff that had to go wrong to cause the collapse of the Republic in the Prequel Trilogy.
I think Yoda will be in it, but just in the council scenes

I think it’s a bit early for either of them, especially Plagueis. But that’s only a good thing as far as I’m concerned because new things are exiting and people get really defensive when newer stories interfere with the legends characters

I think Mae has a twin sister who's killing Jedi. Master Sol is sent to capture Mae but she convinces him that she's not the murderer, then both run against time to prove she's innocent and we'll see some action like in TCW when Ahsoka was trying to prove her innocence, facing good guys and bad guys alike. I hope it's not that and if it is that then I hope is very well done cause it's a story that has been told many times before. However I'm happy to see a show set outside the Skywalker saga timeframe.

@@frontierlandfrank5314 I don't know what numbers you have found (though I suspect them to be quite biased) but Disney is absolutely not losing money on SW right now. For a short time they were not earning as much as they needed to (not exactly losing money but I get it, same difference) and that's all of Disney, meaning SW + MCU + everything else. But that has long since passed. It may happen again but that remains to be seen.

The problem with shows like this is that we ultimately know what happens and compare how it fits into the Skywalker saga. They also can't introduce new weaponry because we'll just wonder where was that back then. They really need to continue the story from Rey and move forward. Introduce new threats, throw in some callbacks for nostalgia, but come up with fresh ideas.
Yeah I you go at warp speed to the Phantom menace. They have roughly 100 years to play going forward and 100 years or so going backwards. Plenty of content to show and plenty of new stuff to discover.
They could do something drastic like skip ahead by 500 years.

I definitely can see the mystery baddie being a Sith. I think we all have this idea of an unbroken, uncontested chain of Sith under the Rule of 2 starting with Darth Bane reaching all the way to Darth Sidious and Vader. But we all watched Darth Sidious have 3 different apprentices: Maul, Tyranus & Vader. Heck we even watched Maul claim to be Sith when he took Savage Oppress as his apprentice with mind to challenge Sidious & Tyranus. These situations can easily be played out in The Acolyte or any number of other of scenarios, maybe the former smuggler guy got his hands on something that makes him believe he became one or he is possessed by that mask like Darth Momin did in the Vader comic. Lots of ways to make the antagonist a Sith without breaking canon.
Sidious didn’t have 3 at the same time. Hell Anakin hasn’t even turned when Tyranus died.

So can someone explain to me exactly what is canon in the Star Wars universe and what isnt? Because in the Star Trek universe, the rule of thumb has always been “whats said, mentioned, seen or referenced on screen in the shows or films is canon”. And most of this 1000 year history in Star Wars Ive never heard of before.
Star Wars had an expanded universe from its creation in 1977 though George Lucas never really cared about any of it. When Disney bought Star Wars in 2013 they categorised all old EU content as “legends”. Canon is everything released after 2013 the only things released before 2013 that are still considered Canon are the original trilogy, prequel trilogy, the 2008 clone wars animated movie and series (not the earlier 2d clone wars animation that is considered legends). @@pwningo3o4 Actually it's everything released after April 24th in 2014. The Dawn of the Jedi-Comics, Maul: Lockdown, Kenobi (the novel) and Honor Among Thieves all released in that same year and all of them are still from Legends.
