"A simple soldier. Never went anywhere. Never did anything. I served my country, and that's good enough."
in our country here in the Philippines all Military men goes to combat with frequent skirmishes to large firefight against communists and islamic terrorists led by ISIS except for the infantry supports like doctors and nurses, lawyers and chaplains
A vet is a vet! Service, honor, and duty🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸 coming from a USAF BRAT! God bless all who serve🇺🇸🙏👇
@Fuck Google because it resonated with the person who commented. Why does it matter
There once was a great leader from Germany that was a combat hardened vet. He fought for his country and people and was later labeled the most evil man in history. American politicians have rarely served in the armed forces let alone a combat tour.
What a strange thing to say…Hitler??
Beckwith served as an exchange officer with the 22nd SAS, in 1962.
That man is so humble, he contributed alot to our country, many men if his stature will claim they never did anything but served, that's because they're not going to brag about their extraordinary jobs an reveal mission and operation that they had sworn to secrecy. So let's respect that and give thanks with our utmost gratitude. God Bless you and your family for your time and service always sir. From a veteran to a veteran.
One of the first original badasses to ever grace our Military. Here’s to ya Chris 🍻
Don't forget Bucky Burrows. He was another who came over to England, to train with The SAS. 1977 from July to December on selection.
As a Ex 🇬🇧SAS member I trained with Delta Force on a exchange they visited Hereford Stirling Lines, and on to the 🏴 Brecon Beacons..👍🏻
What do you think about them? About the Deltas
So what is the color of the Boathouse at Hereford?
Nothing but respect for Chris. Thanks for the interview.
I have a Uncle that actually Retired from Three Branches of the Arm Forces. Army, Navy and Air Force.
A true gentleman/professional. Doesn't need to brag ! Thank you sir ...
RIP Gary Gordon, Randy Shughart, and Earl Fillmore, all died 3 days before I was born
Wow, this guy is an inspiration. Very humble and honest.
God Bless Colonel Beckwith... may his cast iron soul live forever.
thank you for your service ...... respect
What a gentleman. He said so much with so few words. If only there were more like him this world would be a better, and much safer, place. "A simple soldier. Never went anywhere. Never did anything. I served my country, and that's good enough." Nuf said.
hes from my home town. hes was also my scuba instructor. great guy very professional
Chris, you instructed me for my open water scuba license. Killeen 2001. Austin lake Travis windy point. Great experience. Thanks for your service, man. 👍🏼
This is history, and hopefully more operators can see these podcasts that way
God bless America, God bless the American fighter. God bless Delta.
I read Eric Haney's book "Inside Delta Force". Good book and worth reading.
respect sir ......
Wonderful!
You are not a simple soldier, you are more than you think. I know it's not easy for you, but ... I know you can do it. In Austria we say love and God protects you
Almost finished Eric Haney's book. Great men.
He is very very humble person i ever see not like other founder sf group that talk to much craving spotlight writing a lot of books and love cheap publicity...this men are true heroes and never claimed anything
Just came across your channel Old Chap. Jolly good fellows One and All
Heroe's don't always wear capes. Legend of an operator. 🇬🇧🇺🇲
Great video. I wish I could have made this seminar.
Worked with Colonel Beckwith in 1973 - 74 when I commanded a search team for JCRC, charge with the recovery of American MIA and Bodies not Recovered from Vietnam. We conducted those missions unarmed and paid a price in the end. Will always remember the Leadership and Courage of Colonel Beckwith.
@@tedfio1tedfio1 Wow you knew Gen. Kingston ran JCRC, you are for real. Shriver was a legend and the story I heard was that not much was left of his body.
@@tedfio1tedfio1 Dick Meadows was my neighbor on Okinawa. Nice guy. As for Schriver never knew him but of course knew of him. I heard one story that he was skinned, the guy was a legend.
@@tedfio1tedfio1 Dick Meadows was a corrupt nasty CIA mafioso. Jerry Michael Shriver was on the radio for nine hours after he was abandoned during his last assault. He was later listed in a secret prisoner of war list as being ' certain he was a PW (i.e prisoner of war''.
Shriver did not want to run his last mission as he 'thought his luck was running out' but was made to by his superior captain Paul Cahill.
He was captured and most likely abaondoned in Vietnam like thousands of other POWs
Well done Chris.
I salute you Sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I call this honour!!!
holy shit bronze star Silver Star the guy's a hero
Love the squadron pic! My best buddy is in it! RIP Chuck Collingwood!
God bless you, sir. I thank God we have men like you who are selfless and willing to serve.
Why don’t you thank them instead
Col.Charles beckwith was one of my heros growing up and even though i didnt make it into the green berets or 5th special as a ranger ive worked with many and at least got to meet my hero which was the greatest honor of my life.never met this guy but he seems like a great soldier.
Bob Nixon I doubt very much you were a Ranger, since 1- you called 5th Special Forces Group “5th special”, 2- if you didn’t make into the Green Berets, then it goes without saying that you didn’t make it to 5th SFG. Also, Rangers don’t let themselves go and get as morbidly obese as you appear to be in your picture. Sure some gain some weight upon leaving the Regiment, but nowhere near to the degree that you are at. Your weight appears to be the result of years and years of poor diet, no exercise, and a horrendously sedentary lifestyle. So don’t drag down the name and reputation of my Regiment and our community by claiming to have been a Ranger. I guess it’s possible you went to Ranger school while in the regular Army, but you should know graduating Ranger school doesn’t make you a Ranger. It makes you “Ranger Qualified”. If you haven’t attended and graduated from RIP (old school lol) or RASP, and didn’t get your Regimental scroll and tan beret, then you weren’t/aren’t an Army Ranger. -- A Co, 3/75 RLTW --
@@ryanjohnson1265 for your info during nam project delta was taken from and called the 5th sepecial forces do some research before you down grade some i never was in 5th never said i was im not old enough second i am the way i am cause i was wounded on the job after i got our as a cop and due to those injurrys i suffer from many disibilities but i thank you for at least being interested enough to respond god bless you and rangers lead the way.
This Corpsman salutes you
2:33 wow what a photo, the Delta plank-owners, never seen that
All the SF's are the real deal.!!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍🇺🇸
This it’s a mind of a true warrior my highest respect for you sir ,
Couple of cool dudes.
He's probably talking about Eric Haney when talking about people profiting off of Delta. Haney was another charter member who went through selection with him.
I got so much fucking respect for these men
My brother was also present for this photo. Thanksgiving 1990 Saudi Arabia
There is only ONE founder of the Delta Force - Charlie Alvin Beckwith. The end.
Beckwith.
Navy call"s plank owners. Hats off to you.
General Swartzcof Was well known Not to be an advocate of special forces, During to his experiences in the Vietnam war, I studied that war the American part and the previous wars in Vietnam, I believe some great work and some great special forces were born in Vietnam and the war, He took some persuasion to use special forces in gulf war one, Even the special forces from my country like the British SAS, how did Chris overcome this and know he would have the correct support in place all around the world and would be able to make this a success like it has been after poor opinion previous disasters and many other issues I’m sure I don’t know about he’s clearly done a great job because I believe Delta to be the best in the USA not quite the world but I am slightly biased great interview
Read ALL SECURE by ex-Delta Force operator Tom Satterly. Most up to date book on Delta.
Great book, I concur, read it last year and was blown away
The irony of the thumbnail.
The seals movies, IMO should of been told. Especially 13 hours, they are about teamwork, brotherhood and honoring their fallen brothers.
I loved 13 Hours. That was a damn good movie, for those exact reasons.
Only two SEALS out of many Marines, Army boys.
for those wondering which one is Eric Haney in the picture at 2:34, go three dudes over from the left on the bottom row, the guy with glasses right behind that third guy is Haney. In his book he talked about how Beckwith made him go read an eye chart after his interview to make sure he could see properly
Read "Inside Delta Force" by Eric L Haney. Very very good.
stubones haney was df first csm.
Smedly Dumpsterjuice do you remember which selection Haney went through? I feel like he said 2nd or 3rd, cause I'm wondering if he's in that picture at around 2:30
Tim Murphy not sure my friend. in the platoon picture, the man standing in the upper left looks closest to Haney, though I'm not betting on it's him. sorry I'm no help.
he went through the very first official selection per the book, I do believe Beckwith, SGM Shumate and the other cadre went through the course before the actual class
Smedly, Haney is in about the 3rd row on the left of the group (wearing glasses) just in front of the guy with the sunglasses
Chris: Thanks for your service 1st! I was there after you were. It was still a great unit then.

2:33 they look so normal if anything a little on the goofy side. It blows my mind that they were actually straight badasses. im always fascinated by what it is that makes someone Delta material.
timmy D they were THE badasses. I wonder if Eric Haneys in that picture
IDK but one of the few times they talked about it in public during a session of the Committee of Armed Services a General said that 70% of Delta had served with the 75th Ranger Regiment
God Bless Colonel Thomas Henry , the best uncle my sister and i ever had
There is a problem with this video. No "Chris Mendoza" ever served in the Unit. No "Chris Mendoza" ever supported the Unit. No "Chris Mendoza" ever augmented, or even visited the Unit. Chris, can you help clarify?
The 'One' that never quit's keeping you're back, resides in the following quote...
''Looking as far to you're left as possible at all of the relievers of oppression that you have ever served at the right hand of... And you'll find the very Author of Sacrifice *Himself!''

I't is only *He, that makes sure that you're best fight... is the one that never happened.
he would know my brother in fayette
Let me tell you something about brother hood there's 2 types of brothers some are built and some just connect like they've been brothers from the beginning . And others really try to hard to be part of the same material .
Is he from Texas? I saw the blue bonnet pics
Household 6. That is hilarous! I spent 22 years in the Army and have been married 57 years. Never heard that term before.
Really?, I retired 2011 and have used that term for years.
Was gonna say the same thing thats an awesome call sign!!!
Its not what you see and hear its what your not. Notice there is something missing from the wall behind him. Delta force is the American shinobi thats why you dont hear about them but you hear a lot about seal team.
The sas you mean
silent professional's!🇺🇸🙏🇺🇸

Charlie Beckwith wrote a Book about how he got DELTA created. It wasn't easy.
Timothy Thomas yeah, he had to negotiate a lot, and at first it was really made of second hand gear and equipment. Even the headquarters building was a repurposed brig (or whatever the Army calls their jail).
Col. Beckwith was the master of making chicken soup out of chicken shit.
much like David Stirling when he created the SAS in ww2, with the SAS they had to steal equipment because most of the general staff didnt like the idea
@@bearsagainstevil it's a myth about David Stirling being the creator of 22SAS? There were other people involved, his brothers etc.....David Stirling was just the salesman.....Paddy mayne is the the man when it comes down to it, David Stirling tired to underplayed his role...
Think of normal army physical fitness as highschool standard. Special forces is d1 fitness standards.
Tier 1, CAG, SMU whatever you want to call it. Is the Olympian level body and mindset.
Wow
So cool they don't make them like that no more.
I trained for delta force and made it was gen swortskoffs right hand man.
"One fail, we all fail!"
If we are all brothers, time to unite good stewart veterans to remove the corrupt civilians in state government.
Long Live Oath Keeps of America!
The shadow government is mainly in the alphabet agencies and they have week people like Obama, Hillary, and all the bots running in this primary as figure heads who think they actually run the country. Just look at what they are doing to this administration. They don't like the fact they are actually having to fight back to one stay in the dark but still feel like they are in control. They have a civilian in office who refuses to accept the status quo and they are afraid of losing control. They will do almost anything to keep this President from doing a second term. They may even go as far as the JFK assassination group went. I'm hoping they have better sense than that.
Bodyboarding Chronicles First thing Trump did was send these cats to retrieve valuable items . Checkmate as soon as each of the 13 Saudi Princes that were hung upside down tapped out gave up their secrets .Trump has everything .now thanks to These Paramount Warriors
What app I guess are you using for this interview? and how can you recording during it?
We design it on a Macbook Retina.
Mac Jagger prolly skype.
Blue light? Any mention of operation Blue Light???
Yes he did.
All inspired by Britain's SAS of which Beckwith was Seconded too
Glynne Wilson yup, another group of hard bastards
@@spudmydog1 Was there an old movie with Christopher Walken about the S.A.S? Or did I dream that? (memory clouded by age, alcohol, and what not!)
May or may not have met one (S.A.S) in Toronto, Canada 1980's. Dressed like Liberace and frequented low life bars like mine, (what can I get you Mr. Waits?)...looking for the rush of a fight perhaps? Or.... perhaps he was the medic from 'The wild geese', after all it takes all kinds to make a world...don't it just.
And to anyone who took up arms with or without a uniform...(with deference to Bismarck, Saxe, Marchand etc.) "Good ordinary people should not see government policy or sausages being made" (my paraphrasing.) Yeah Bratwurst....and Kielbasa ('Family Guy' flashback of Germany taking over Europe at a food fair.)
mucha doo-doo about nada I think you may be referring to The Dogs Of War. Great movie!
He actually completed SAS selection and that’s why he wore SAS wings on his chest, he’s probably one of the only Americans who have..
All inspired, but they do a better job
Caliber person.
MY NIGGAZ
I'd like a chance to call for fire!!!

Eric L. Haney took a lot of heat and criticism for claiming to be one of the "founding father of Delta Force". web.archive.org/web/20060424151026/news.tbo.com/news/metro/MGBMS7AKVLE.html
As far as most of the vets are concerned, there was ONE founding father; Beckwith. If I recall correctly, Haney was on the 2nd selection. He was assigned to Delta in December 1978, nearly 13 months after Delta was establish. And he wasn't a qualified operator until mid-1979.
I would imagine they would have the same beef with this guy calling himself a founding father.
When did Sean Paul start doing interviews
Tdog Nation It wasnt me! Haha
lol
Now that’s funny!
😂😂😂
ShockwaveDefense 😂😂😂
Our finnsih ww2 vet grandfathers almost never talk about war. Serious war.
Many Finnish soldiers buillt alot of the Green Berets - so they should be looked as the fathers of Delta :-)
My grandfather came over to Sweden from Estonia -44... they dont talk much of it. and I an understand it.
🇺🇸⚔️❤️👊🏻
Is the silver star a navy award?
Mark Winter The Silver Star can be awarded to one from any military services for above normal valor.
green beret and delta force make seals look like choir boys and now seals are glory hounds trying to make a movie
Jerry Kilgro First off all those units go through similar training second you do know that there have been movies /tv shows made about special forces /delta operatives right.
Jerry Kilgro this is why seals missions are glorified on tv, while you hardly ever hear stories about green berets or delta.
Quiet professional!!!!
Says it all. Enough said!!!
SEALs are just as good and DEVGRU is almost as good as Delta but yea SEALs reputation have been going down the drain. They are under criminal investigation that got kicked off by the murder of the Green Beret that wouldn't take their dirty money. And a bunch of failing drug test not good
you are silly Jerry, not military i'm guessing
"Fathers," not "Father's"
Thx.
I get the whole playing it down thing but why not just say I’m a simple soldier and I served my country and that’s it but to say you never went anywhere and never did anything is just so obviously not true it’s almost silly. I don’t think anyone would expect a guy like that to reveal the truth about his missions but again to deny he never went on any when that is the whole point of serving his country doesn’t make any sense. The interview was just barely starting to get interesting when it just trailed off and ended..?
go back to bed stupid.. ffs..
@@captaincrunch72 captain crunch!?? Lol Shhhhhh…..
This dude's hair is so cringe worthy.
"Cringe worth" LOL, Hopefully you enjoyed the interview!
lol looks like riff raff
Shockwave. it's "THE founding..." you don't just say Founding. Thats like me saying "To Church". Which means nothing to you when i actually men GOing
37 guys.... 1 black guy...
Better 1 black guy than no black guy.
Two questions: How many tried out and How many earned it?
Troll Troller you do realize how many black people to white people there are in the military right? Stop making it about race
13 percent
Lt. Col. Jerry Boykin was the first founding father of DELTA. This video is not truthful.
Sir,
Thanks for your response to our video. To incur that we are being deliberately dishonest is simply out of line without you providing some form of evidence or credibility. We don't know your background so we would rather request that versus starting to make accusation against your credibility, as we feel that doing so lacks character.
Delta Force was established in 1977 by Charles Beckwith and Colonel Thomas Henry. The founders and the founding fathers aren’t mutually exclusive. Those who were part of the original Tier 1 group helped develop the methods used by (at the time Delta), and gave great sacrifices to achieve the end goals of this great nation. These 500 or so men were the founding fathers of Delta, Chris being one of them. Many of them won't speak and choose to stay silent, it was an honor to interview Chris and have him teach down at our school.
In Beckwith’s book he refers to an individual named Chris, you might want to read that prior to calling this video "not truthful." Not only did he teach a seminar at Shockwave Defense, but he also took time to speak and answer questions at the 512 Rescue Squadron at Kirtland AFB, at the same time he was here. I'm sure if there was an issue with credibility those individuals would've spotted it.
Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help clarify.
^^^On Point. ^^^
I would say the first of the warriors who paved the way are all the founding fathers! Yes Beckwith was the granddaddy, and Boykin, but each of those men in some way founded the unit. My best friend may he RIP Chuck Collingwood made it in his second selection, but he brought the HALO/HAHO parachute operations into the unit! He too was in essence a “ founding father”!
The quite professional that a sas quote !
