This is one American Citizen who HAS kept tabs on your 13 years in Afghanistan. I am damn proud of everything you have done, all you have given and all you have sacrificed along the way. I have a best friend from High School who served as an officer with an ODA, and I am humbled by his experiences. It is an honor to know him and have his friendship. Few people understand what "brotherhood" means (across many service domains), and how difficult it is to leave behind and find commonality with those in a society that is essentially self-serving. If I ever get a chance to pass any of you on the sidewalk I will shake your hand with a grateful heart. God bless you all.
They're all child rapists! Everyone knows about the ANAs parties where they dress little boys up as girls and pass them around raping them, but the command ignores it.
They grow beards not to assimilate but to look regular. They don't wear uniforms on regular bases. They don't want to be known as special forces. That's why they don't have on current uniform patterns.

I had a Green Beret as a Deputy Division Commander. He was a stellar Commanding Officer, makes me almost wish I had gone in the Army instead of the Marine Corps. The biggest difference for me was he was a stickler for ROEs.
I spent a year in Kapisa Province back in 07-08 and ran missions with the SF guys out of FOB Morales Frazier. The hottest area in the province back then was Tagab Valley, even the kids gave you the death stare
I worked with a SFGB in Somalia, appreciate many years ago. He was a great guy very professional, and willingness to learn new things. I did not give him, the respect he deserved. For that I apologise, my mind was on my job which was very hectic. If any one knows this GB, then please pass on my deepest respect. I was running, a demising project throughout the whole of Somalia. He was the only GB, working with me, and doing this task. Would love to see or hear from him again. 🇬🇧🧑🏻🎨
Ah young warriors, it's good to see the rivalries still exist and are alive and well. But you gotta play by the rules. 1. To get in the club and have the right to talk shit, you have to have earned your SF or Ranger tab, trident, or whatever insignia designates you as a SOF warrior. 2. To have the right to really talk shit, you also have to have combat time. Now you're in the inner circle. But you still have to do it right. a. There must be beer in sufficient quantities available to quench the firey thirsts caused by talkin' shit. b. You must wear a helmet and combat boots, 'cause flying shit can be hazardous. c. Every story must be proceeded with, "This is no shit". If you don't meet at least criterion 1, then you ain't in the club and have no right to talk shit. Now, since I do meet criteria 1 and 2 and am older than snot, I also qualify for the old fart warrior dispensation regarding rules a through c, so...This is no shit. A Marine Corps first sergeant and a Special Forces Team Sergeant were having drinks in the NCO club and discussing in detail the relative strengths and weakenesses of their respective services. To end the discussion, the Marine said to the SFer, "Watch this." He turned to a table full of young Marine sergeants and yelled, "Jones, come here!" A large and sturdy example of Marine Corps junior NCOs jumped up, ran over to the first sergeant, snapped to attention and yelled, "Yes first sergeant!" The first sergeant pointed to the wall of the club and said, "Get through that wall!" The young man, lowered his head and butted the wall until he broke a hole through it and collapsed on the other side, mission accomplished. "Very impressive", commented the team sergeant. He, then, called over to a table where his team was drinking beer, "Hey Smitty, come here a minute, will you." A young, wirey SF sergeant walked over and asked, "What's up top?" The team sergeant replied, "Get through that wall, OK." With that, Smitty walked over to the door, opened it and walked through. He then walked back and asked, "Is that all you need?"
Ed Tolliver the Ranger tab has nothing to do with special operations. Maybe you meant the 75th Ranger Regiment's scroll since the 75th is one component of Army special operations along with the Green Berets, Civil Affairs, and PsyOps. Ranger school is a leadership course. To get into the Ranger Regiment, you have to get selected after completing the 8 weeks of RASP.
Ed Tolliver that was funny but I think the two guys used in the joke should be the Marine corps first sergeant and a SEAL chief, because usually I here of comparisons between the Navy and the Marines with the Navy SEALs being the more intelligent ones. Regardless, good joke!
The way MSGT Scott was talking...I could feel the emotional weight from everything him and his team have been through. I pray they are all well to this day. DOL
One thing I think most will agree with is that within SOCOM, the Green Berets have the most combat experience out of all of the SOF units in the SF community. They always have.
They both have been nonstop, 75th with more, but shorter deployments, and SF with annual 6-10 month deployments. There are multiple Bns at group that have deployed every single year since GWOT kicked off. That being said, the Rangers do have the luxury of living on the FOB and letting their guard down at night, that's not afforded to GBs at a VSP.
This was the best inside look into the green berets. What SFC haddock said at 36 minute mark is spot on. I've never been able to explain it but he summed it up perfect.
@15:55 it seems like two sec before, there's an ODA dude saying "yeah....no! I did! I killed him!" I assume he means the Taliban that smoked the ANSF who was clearing the area he was in? Unless someone corrects me, Tali shoots, hits ANSF in the neck, then the another detachment members smokes him, and THAT's who we hear saying "I killed him".....does that sound right? or is he saying something else entirely? I mean, I HOPE he smokechecked that dude, BUT....I also hope I'm not going deaf either
We must respect those great humans that devote their life to serve their country. Instead of enjoying partys and civilian life pleasures, decide to to and train beyond human limits. Seals, Green berets, Rangers..... all of them, God bless them all.
Reading through the comments I have come to the conclusion that the military is like fantasy football. Everyone on the outside knows they have it all figured out when they really have the slightest clue.
Most folks will never understand the intensity of the relationships that are built in battle, or the lost feeling you have when your thrust back into society. At the end when its time to leave everything you know behind and you look back at all the obstetrical you have had to over come just to get you to this point in life you hope to God that all your efforts and the efforts of the brothers that are no longer here were not in vain. GB all the women and men that fight the fight i thank you for all you do and deeply appreciate it.
Very, very well done. I saw this video many months ago. Then the person that posted it went private with it after a couple of days. Really glad to see its back out there. This is why USSF is so important.
I'm only half way through watching this, but so far this is an awesome video. I don't care what all the youtube comments say, these guys are what makes SF so good.
What was the major difference between the GB's & SOG during Nam? They seemed to have a lot of overlapping roles, SOG I always assumed to have the core role of reconnaissance but i've notices they did a lot more than that and often overlapped in the terms of types of ops they did.
the ANA are normally high out of their minds on weed and opium... when i was over there all they did was smoke, listen to shitty music, spray paint their m-16 yellow and adorn it with stickers, and try to fuck little boys... they arent professional in any way... now if you want a good laugh, look up ANA doing jumping jacks on youtube...
Navy’s seals are special forces with seal team six being the most secretive and best. It cost over 1 mil on each soldier for 1 year of training alone on a seal. Seals are training and traveling all over the world getting trained constantly as for the green berets, but I’d like to see a beret in the water lmao. The seals are some of the most mentally tough guys in special forces. Remember that seals join the seals partly because they love being physically and mentally uncomfortable and even strive for it.
A J coming out of a dumbshits mouth. There’s nothing stupid about it. I’ve done enough research to know for myself. In fact kinda off topic but i plan to join as a combat rescue officer (CRO) to lead a pj team as soon as I’m done with College, so yes I would like to think I’m somewhat a bit educated on the topic of joint sf
@@henson530 and Navy seals aren't "special forces." The only special forces are in the Army, the guys in this video. Navy seal are special operations. And seal team 6 doesn't exist. Only the Naval Special Warfare Development Group.

Oliver Allen, very well said. Our soldiers are at war, and America is having a coffee. It's just not right. God bless all of our soldiers, and keep you safe. THANK YOU!!!
I have respect for Green Beret's, they trained tribesmen in Vietnam and were a serious thorn in the V.C.s side, they're still a mixture of brains and outstanding soldiering, a rare combination!
These men really make me proud to be an American.like the other commentor said..no glamour, just professional, candid operators.no bullshit.for what its worth, wish I could have served with the green berets.
Ranger school and Ranger Battallion are 2 different things.Ranger school is a great leadership school,It's open to all branches of the military,so navy seals, marines, airforce, coastguard, all attend if they want.Ranger school is also open too different countries, when I was IN Ranger school back in the 80's we had 2 US Marines and Soilders from south and central America. You can be a cook ,mechanic, supply guy in the army and attend ranger school, but It's mostly open too combat MOS's meaning JOBS for you civilans. When you and if you graduate from ranger school, you get to wear a tab yellow and black that reads ranger, then after ranger school you go back to you'r regular unit, like being a cook mechanic etc.Completion from ranger school does not mean you are a ranger,It just means that you went to ranger school and that happens too be the name of the school.Ranger Battalion means you are a ranger and you wear a ranger scroll red black white with unit ID and you also wear a ranger tab if you have already been too ranger school.Their are Rangers in ranger units that have never been too ranger school, but once you reach the rank of E-4 they really start pushing you too go too ranger school because It's a great leadership school and you may not get promoted without it.When I was in the Army we Ranger wore the black beret, but since the army issued everyone a black beret a few years back Rangers went with the tan beret now.Rangers Tan,Airborne Units Maroon, and Special Forces Green beret.
I was deployed in kapisa my last deployment and this was a nightmare as it where i lost one one of my best buds rip sgt shawn farrell 1-32 climb to glory 10th mnt sgt c out

+Raditram not all SEAL teams are tier 1
Jackson Vance well duh, notice the "and" *sigh*
+Jackson Vance Just to set it straight. Normal teams (like 1,3,5 etc.) are all tier 2 and DEVGRU ("team 6") is tier 1 along with CAG.
+Hercules Trunt well ya!! because asama bin ladin is the president of the United States. and we are under siege and Marshall law, since 09/01/01, wake up armed forces. how did a cruise missile hit the Pentagon??? the United States military. how did the passenger jets get missiles in the noise??, and field with thermite plasma??? why are the police murdering us for expressing our rights???? or for non capital punishment crimes??????. especially when they have tay tazors ???
I was in the army in 60's - 70's, thought about trying out for green berets, but chickened out, just didn't think I could make it. Now I will always wonder.
God bless ya

There probably are some places in the world we're some one of an older age can actually still join . Not sure we're tho lol
KROSS777RLSH yeah in their 70,s
The saying goes, if you think you will fail, you already failed. You have to have the mentality that you will go to the ends of the Earth to reach that goal.
I always wanted to, but guys who were way cooler, way more switched on and way more tough and smarter than me kept coming back failed.....it kinda put me off lol

Marc Scribner no kidding. I haven't served, but a lot of these comments are ridiculous. "Nayvee Seulz r bettur! Hurr durr!" This coming from a kid who still shits his pants.
Marc Scribner BHR, dope.
Thank you, lol someone needed to say this.
Ok
Marc Scribner Couldn't have called it any better than that! Agree 100 percent brother!

You know you made it to a high position in the military when you are allowed to grow a beard.
They grow beards not to assimilate but to look regular. They don't wear uniforms on regular bases. They don't want to be known as special forces. That's why they don't have on current uniform patterns.
@Kods S. and it looks badass

Wow, I'm speechless. Very well made, thank you for sharing.
just want to take a moment to thank the Green Beret soldiers on this video and fallen brothers taking the fight to them. may God bless you and your families
Me too boss
I had a Green Beret as a Deputy Division Commander. He was a stellar Commanding Officer, makes me almost wish I had gone in the Army instead of the Marine Corps. The biggest difference for me was he was a stickler for ROEs.
Abby Babby do you regret your decision to join the marines if yes why? If not what makes the marine corps right for you
I don’t know bro? The Marines are the last bastion for discipline, honor, and duty. Every service has its expertise.
These are the most badasses/dangerous soldiers in the military. I salute you all and thank you for all your sacrifices.

To end the discussion, the Marine said to the SFer, "Watch this."
He turned to a table full of young Marine sergeants and yelled, "Jones, come here!"
A large and sturdy example of Marine Corps junior NCOs jumped up, ran over to the first sergeant, snapped to attention and yelled, "Yes first sergeant!"
The first sergeant pointed to the wall of the club and said, "Get through that wall!"
The young man, lowered his head and butted the wall until he broke a hole through it and collapsed on the other side, mission accomplished.
"Very impressive", commented the team sergeant. He, then, called over to a table where his team was drinking beer, "Hey Smitty, come here a minute, will you."
A young, wirey SF sergeant walked over and asked, "What's up top?"
The team sergeant replied, "Get through that wall, OK."
With that, Smitty walked over to the door, opened it and walked through. He then walked back and asked, "Is that all you need?"
lol no body cares
Ed Tolliver the Ranger tab has nothing to do with special operations. Maybe you meant the 75th Ranger Regiment's scroll since the 75th is one component of Army special operations along with the Green Berets, Civil Affairs, and PsyOps. Ranger school is a leadership course. To get into the Ranger Regiment, you have to get selected after completing the 8 weeks of RASP.
👏👏👏
Ed Tolliver that was funny but I think the two guys used in the joke should be the Marine corps first sergeant and a SEAL chief, because usually I here of comparisons between the Navy and the Marines with the Navy SEALs being the more intelligent ones. Regardless, good joke!
😂😂😂👍
Thank you for this video. It gave me more faith than I had previously in Afghanistan and Iraq. The area I was in back in Iraq has fallen apart...

Absolutely. And among the most intelligent.
75th ranger regiment has the most deployments. I think each battalion is on or around their 17/18 deployment
Agreed man not trying to say one is better. Rangers and green berets are a kick ass unit that will constantly deploy until the end
Jack Colby The 75th only runs on three month deployments.

That's exactly what he says.
We must respect those great humans that devote their life to serve their country. Instead of enjoying partys and civilian life pleasures, decide to to and train beyond human limits. Seals, Green berets, Rangers..... all of them, God bless them all.

I'm only half way through watching this, but so far this is an awesome video. I don't care what all the youtube comments say, these guys are what makes SF so good.
SF guys are sigilous. And hate anyone out off of Duty
I used to play baseball with Nick Robertson in grade school, he was a good guy. RIP old friend.
What was the major difference between the GB's & SOG during Nam? They seemed to have a lot of overlapping roles, SOG I always assumed to have the core role of reconnaissance but i've notices they did a lot more than that and often overlapped in the terms of types of ops they did.
Why do ANA soliders constantly blind fire? Are they trained like this? Because jesus christ I see them doing that more than anything.
Cody Gordon suppressing fire
the ANA are normally high out of their minds on weed and opium... when i was over there all they did was smoke, listen to shitty music, spray paint their m-16 yellow and adorn it with stickers, and try to fuck little boys... they arent professional in any way... now if you want a good laugh, look up ANA doing jumping jacks on youtube...
inshallah man
Totally agree. Except for very few, worthless.
No man. Suppressing fire is accurate, well aimed fire in very high volumes. These ANA dudes just spray and pray.
That first entry at 2:40 was beautiful. Smooth.
books about navy seals are coming out every week. SF not so much that shows you who is more professional and more badass
@@henson530 that's fucking stupid.
@@henson530 "I plan to join" that means absolutely nothing. Like I said, fucking stupid.
@@henson530 and Navy seals aren't "special forces." The only special forces are in the Army, the guys in this video. Navy seal are special operations. And seal team 6 doesn't exist. Only the Naval Special Warfare Development Group.
There's a reason they now green beret distinction from other special ops is that they are trained to train others and create a resistance force
This brings backs a lot of memories. I was with several ODAs when a CCT wasn’t available.

No chest pumping! No loud mouth battle cries! Professional, humble lads 👍 good too see.
When you and if you graduate from ranger school, you get to wear a tab yellow and black that reads ranger, then after ranger school you go back to you'r regular unit, like being a cook mechanic etc.Completion from ranger school does not mean you are a ranger,It just means that you went to ranger school and that happens too be the name of the school.Ranger Battalion means you are a ranger and you wear a ranger scroll red black white with unit ID and you also wear a ranger tab if you have already been too ranger school.Their are Rangers in ranger units that have never been too ranger school, but once you reach the rank of E-4 they really start pushing you too go too ranger school because It's a great leadership school and you may not get promoted without it.When I was in the Army we Ranger wore the black beret, but since the army issued everyone a black beret a few years back Rangers went with the tan beret now.Rangers Tan,Airborne Units Maroon, and Special Forces Green beret.
damn you sound like an officer hahaha which is trash

Thanks a lot for the candid views. I wish more people knew of the changes that have occurred due to ISAF operations. It just blows me away that more is not made of the progress of the ANA and other branches have made by the different politicians that visited. Just weird given the effort and sacrifices made.
I have seen these guys train a bit and they are like super humans. Unbelievable how they adapt and overcome any challenge.
Listening to these green berets we get the feeling that they are not that confident with the abilities of Afgan soldiers with whom they are working
