THIS is what the internet is for, Thanks Doc & James !!
Reminds me of my buddy Butch. He came back from combat in Nam and got cancer from agent orange. It wasn't until 6 months before he died that the V.A. would treat him. What a kick in the pants to a fine friend.
Thanks for the video. God bless Doc and you.
How the hell I missed these gems years ago, I don't know. James just keeps giving and giving. Love that "you're the man, I'm just Christmas help" line... On to part two, No Sad Shit!
Welcome home doc and ty. My dad was there in 67-68 stationed in tuy hoa with 24th transit ( 24 tango). I served in 1 cav div, 2 INF div. 1989-1993
Thank you for your service sir. My uncle was KIA during Tet.
Never turn down a chance to let a vet bend your ear. Thank you for your service and your stories.
I could listen to this guy for hours. More please...
God Bless him for his service, service as a doctor, and you James for sharing his story!
Thank you Sir. Your experiences and bravery matter to us. Your sacrifice is honored here.
Amen
I could listen to these stories forever...love it..
Thanks you for interviewing him James and thank him on our behalf for being willing to share his stories.
I’d like to say Thanks for your service and for sharing. And I appreciate you being an old school southern self deprecating gentleman. America needs more of y’all. God Bless!
Welcome Home Sir!
I was 8 years old when he was getting shot at. God bless him, and thank you Doc. One of the things I remember most was watching the death tolls on the news.
Doc. Herron thank you for your service and thank you for sharing your stories. I truly hope we can hear more.
Mr Yeager thank you for this video.

Great Video. Thank You. ALL THE WAY SIR
Great guest and interview. Thanks
Excellent interview. I would love to hear more from Doc. I'm glad his story is being shared and documented. We should learn all we can from those with more or different experiences than ourselves.
Much respect! Thank you for your service.
Excellent video, thanks for posting.
Wonderful Man thanks so much for your Service And thanks James for this Video
What a fantastic interview!! Thank you.
Would absolutely LOVE to see the pics and hear more. Awesome.
Doc seems like an awesome man. Im sure he has a whole novel full of interesting things he can talk about the Vietnam war. Would love to hear more from him.
Outstanding! Please, more of Dr. Herron. Would love to see his photos and hear more of his experiences. This is real history. He's right about that O-3 grade being about people: it's a high enough rank to have access and range of movement, low enough to be in the thick of it with the GIs.
Incredible stories. I’m excited for part 2. Thanks for documenting these stories and this history. Too few people will actually sit and listen to these treasure troves of information.
The one dislike on this video is the guy who had an AK round in his shoulder. Doc, thank you for your service and welcome home. I look forward to hearing more of your stories and seeing your photos.
Keep the stories coming. This is the true History being told. Thank you for your service and God Bless.
Awesome 👏 👏👏👏 interview thank you for your service thanks James from bringing Doc to us

Amazing recall!!! Sharp as a tac!! I can't remember what I did yesterday! Lol. Thank you for your service sirsir
!🇺🇸👊
It would be fun to watch his photos, thank you
I must have ADHD he is throwing out exact dates from 53 years ago and I can't remember what I did four days ago.
When you go through shit like that you'd tend to remember I reckon
@@jamesavery6671 If you recite it a few thousand times you tend to never forget it. Especially when you found camaraderie during those stressful situations.
The Children In Men what?
James, I listen to a lot of your videos like a podcast, while at work. I really enjoy this format and I truly appreciate Dr. Herron. Thank you both for taking the time to share is experiences with all of us.
Awesome history. And yes please more. Thanks to you both.
I love the stories. Good stuff
Fantastic, indeed.
Great interview, James!
Great interview
Any time you can get someone to talk about their experiences from any war especially the Nam. War is definitely a plus for those of us that didn’t have to go. I was part of the lottery and my number was 273. They were only drafting up to 143. I’ve read a lot of books mostly on the LRRP. Or Lurps. Those were some of the most bad ass guys. Unbelievable what those guys did. Richard Marcinko book when he was in Nam. is a good one. Thanks James
Great show 👍👍
Thank you for doing this interview. Amazing man. Huge respect. Eagerly await #2.
James this is a great interview the content is excellent the things that Doc Herron has seen has to be amazing and horrifying. Can’t wait for the next piece of this. I hope Doc will know how much we appreciate him sharing his story. Thank you Doc Herron.

Great stuff right here 🙏
best video you've ever made and uploaded. keep them coming. it really pisses me off how hippies treated veterans coming home from Vietnam. a lot like the demorats treat conservatives today.

Beckwith kicked ass and took names great American!!!
Beckwith one if the baddest toughest Soldiers ever!!
"He was never a mister!" 😅
10:08 ... Huh.. so war does change...
Semper Fi
