    Reminds me of my buddy Butch. He came back from combat in Nam and got cancer from agent orange. It wasn't until 6 months before he died that the V.A. would treat him. What a kick in the pants to a fine friend.

    Welcome home doc and ty. My dad was there in 67-68 stationed in tuy hoa with 24th transit ( 24 tango). I served in 1 cav div, 2 INF div. 1989-1993

    Doc seems like an awesome man. Im sure he has a whole novel full of interesting things he can talk about the Vietnam war. Would love to hear more from him.

    Outstanding! Please, more of Dr. Herron. Would love to see his photos and hear more of his experiences. This is real history. He's right about that O-3 grade being about people: it's a high enough rank to have access and range of movement, low enough to be in the thick of it with the GIs.

    Any time you can get someone to talk about their experiences from any war especially the Nam. War is definitely a plus for those of us that didn’t have to go. I was part of the lottery and my number was 273. They were only drafting up to 143. I’ve read a lot of books mostly on the LRRP. Or Lurps. Those were some of the most bad ass guys. Unbelievable what those guys did. Richard Marcinko book when he was in Nam. is a good one. Thanks James
