Glock 26 For CCW?

  • I wanted to take the Glock 26 out to see if it would make a good EDC/CCW gun. I wasn't surprised how well it shot. Something I've learned is Glocks shoot well and are reliable. Its on the thicker side in my opinion for a CCW gun, but if that's what I had I wouldn't hesitate to carry it. This is another California Compliant Handgun that's on The California Handgun Roster.

    Thanks for watching.

    Oh my gosh, what else can be said about the G26, except that is the Swiss Army Knife of handguns. Out of all my carry guns, the G26 is by far my favorite. I actually like the way my pinky finger tucks under the grip, very accurate and reliable. Nuff said, if you don't own a G26, buy one, you will not regret it.

      No doubt the G26 is impressive. Really enjoyed shooting it. I have a G17C Gen 2, and its become one of my favorites! Thanks for watching!

    The G26 is the one Glock I swore I never wanted and it’s now my favorite EDC. To each his own though, get whatever you like and works for you.

      The Glock 26 was something I wasn't sure about either until I took it out lol. All I can say is wow. Its more accurate than I am, and was a ton of fun to shoot. Thanks for watching I appreciate you!

    Ive been EDC my G26 since 1996. I always “make” whomever i’m out shooting with give it a try. They always like it much much better than they thought they would. Always.

    I EDC my Glock 26. I like it so much that I had the slide milled and it now sports a Holosun 507K green dot on it. Great shooter.

      Nice. No doubt the Glock 26 punches above its weight class. I enjoyed plinking steel with it, and definitely wouldn’t hesitate to have it as my EDC.

    Before the Sig P365 , the G43 and a couple others, the G27/G27 were much more poplular. IMO they are still excellent choices for CC. They're especially good choices if the person already owns a mid size or full sized Glock as the manual of arms will be the same

    • @dirtybirdusa
      @dirtybirdusa  10 місяців тому +1

      Agreed. I definitely enjoyed taking it to the range. I’d like to get a 43, but I don’t see Glock adding anything to the roster anytime soon.

      @@dirtybirdusa That's the one thing that bugs me about Glock. They don't change much and not often. Every tiny little change is hailed as a major deal and then there's nothing new for a year or more. Sometimes several years with no real changes.

    Owned Glock forever but never grabitated towards the 26 until I saw the new 26 Gen 5 MOS and it has become my new favorite CCW even over the 43X . I've learned to shoot it with 2 finger grip and its becoming my favorite 9mm to shoot hands down. Love the 26 Gen 5 MOS.

    My g26 gen 3 (cuz I live in Commiefornia) is my go to ccw pocket carry. It's the smallest big gun that has the most upward compatibility starting from a 10+1 flush fit 2-finger grip and can use g17 & g19 mags.

    Just bought my first Glock own many other firearms but was never into glocks but found a gen4 Glock 26 for 300 out the door with a 10 round and a 15 round nd mag and 4 back straps it’s now my cc with sig vcrown or hornady critical defense,

      I’d say that’s a score, and those Sig V-crown are my personal choice when it comes to defensive ammo.

    How can I tell if a Glock 26 has the right feeling trigger? What should I look out for?

    • @dirtybirdusa
      @dirtybirdusa  Місяць тому

      It’s somewhat subjective. I like to find one that doesn’t have so much creep, and that is somewhat crisp. When handling a few you will notice some just feel better than others.

      Glock 26. My EDC is a standard 365 and it's accuracy is complete shit compared to a Glock 26. As soon as I have the money I'm going to buy a G26, and holsters to make ot my EDC.
      I can shoot the center out of my targets when I rent a G26, but my 365 groupings are very inconsistent.
      I will say that my 365 has gone bang every time though. I've put over 1300 rounds through it.

      Just some troubleshooting...
      Are you by chance rubbing the slide and potentially slowing it down?
      How about oil? Have you lubricated it well? The friction could be an issue if it's not lubricated properly

    • @kobudo

      I have heard that early G42s had some issues, but mine is easily my favorite and most accurate pocket gun.
      Extremely low recoil and a rolling break that is very shootable. Glock triggers are nothing if not inconsistent, I guess I just got very lucky with mine.

    • @joeyeats2801
      @joeyeats2801 4 місяці тому

      @@kobudo when mine does work, i agree, it is very accurate and low recoil

      @@jeggersiv i did try adjusting my grip to ensure no rubbing, cleaning and oiling it and I used a variety of ammo. I even left the slide locked back for a few days to loosen up the recoil spring. I was told that i could be limp wristing it, although i did do not have this problem with other models.
      I now will try contacting Glock. I hope I can resolve this issue because i really like it. The night sites are great and it is very accurate when it does work.
