    Just a little advice. Don’t drop you gun in the middle of a fight. And if you DO drop it, don’t drop it in a mud puddle. And IF you you do drop it in a mud puddle by accident , don’t step on it with all of your body weight. And if you do happen to do all of those things in the middle of a gun fight, then don’t scoop an extra pile of mud on top in between dodging bullets. If you follow all of these steps, then mostly any of these guns will serve you well.

      @Skookhunter17954 Personally, I believe that it is a great time for pistols. Even some cheap guns are getting a record for reliability(Canik, certain Taurus pistols). I feel that finding the right gun is more about personal preference these days. I just get tired of hard-core Glock fans scrambling to shit on the M&P every chance they get because they don't want to admit that Glocks are overpriced and not even top dog anymore. Sig fans can be pretty toxic as well. But I always seem to get more flack from Glock guys. Or even when I would be at a gun store and I would see guys recommending guns, they would talk about how Glock is the best. Sometimes I would interject on how the market has changed and then I would just get ignored. Like damn, I am just trying to show that you don't need to buy an overpriced brick anymore. Sorry for running off there. The short is, most pistols will be reasonably reliable. But I just want certain toxic fans in the gun community to accept reality and stop being such pricks about people choosing other brands.

      Main issue I think is the Mk.23 was optimized for .45 Super, so .45ACP is actually underpowered for the action. You notice the main problems were failures to eject since once there’s some dirt and grit in the action, it didn’t have enough oomph to open. Meanwhile, the .45ACP 1911 likely is optimized for .45ACP, so it had the necessary force going backwards as well as the necessary force going forward. Same with the Desert Eagle on a more massive scale.

    • @TheSwoopDog
      @TheSwoopDog Рік тому +5

      @@gameragodzilla these tests are for entertainment purposes and aren't really scientific or repeatable. Also yes, the MK23 has a stupid oversized slide for .45ACP, so it's not surprising that it can't push through those conditions with "just" .45ACP. But also, as much I love the MK23, it has so many unnecessary controls and small parts compared to a modern designed, that I am not surprised that today it can be beat by a design that costs a quarter and is, overall, just newer and better.

    The M&P 2.0 9mm compact was my first firearm purchase several years ago, and the pistol I carried for years. The value proposition is too good. Not a ton of aftermarket available, but I’ve always been pleased with mine. I traded it for a 2.0 Sub-compact about 8 months ago and it shoots just as good while offering more concealed carry flexibly for me. I love it! Having said that, I scooped up a gen5 19 mos, which I’ve done a few upgrades on, and I love that thing. I’m personally glad to have both, and they fulfill unique needs for my edc.

They Hypothesized that it was the nature of the design of the gun coupled with the .45 acp that essentially made it a self cleaning gun. I want to know when Smith and Wesson is going to sponsor you… I guarantee the ice test and this mud test tripled their m&p sales 😂

    I assume the Desert Eagle performed so well because it's gas operated, while the rest are recoil operated. And the half inch oomph helps get the mud out faster

      The Eagle definitely had physics on its side with this test. Lol.

    I wonder why they went with the Mark and not any of the VP variants for H&K. They probably won't ever do this test again, but it would have been nice to see a VP9SK or any of the VPs in that line up. Good stuff guys!

      The US military adds mk to everything, probably the reason. Used to be used by special forces.

      Thinking the same way. A VP in the test would’ve been fun, although I’d expect their USP to do better in a mud test ya never know.

    Now do this same test on all the new ported guns that have come out. Please.

    Alright run the Mark 23 again, this time with 45 Super loads lol. I’d be curious about the USP45 as it did very well in MACs test. Is it possible the Mark 23 just doesn’t run as well with reg 45 ammo? Like someone else said in the comments I’m pretty sure it was designed for some really hot 185g loads. Maybe just not enough oomph?

    I have the M18 and the M&P. Super happy to see they performed. Picking up the PDP soon, also was impressed, although is did not perform as well as the other two.

      The M18 has a type of closed chamber if I’m correct so I wasn’t surprised to see it do so well. You made a good choice when buying a handgun

    I would expect that performance out of the 1911, I guess the Desert Eagle just has so much kick to knock the mud off.
