Thanks. For me the enthusiasm comes the more I do it. And it is something that doesn't last long if I stop fishing. Maybe sounds strange but I recognize how people describe the dedication of going to the gym 😆
Nice video! I like that fly and use it 95% of the time, not only in winter! I make them in 3 sizes and weighted (black head) and unweighted (brown head). Weighted or not depends on the water depth and wave height! If it is difficult, I prefer 2 small ones instead of 1 bigger one!But when you start using the Kopparbassen is it not better to say Tei and catch!
great video, it would be really good to see a drone footage if possible or a distance shot to see how you cast to learn from how you fish with 2 relatively big flies! Thank you for taking us out there the sound of the water is soothing!
Great fly fishing video with very rich informative details and precise analysis - true guide and DIY-er Even tying part!? After followed this channel, I can’t complain for cold season saltwater game or winter season trout fishing…
Hello Robert. Love watching your videos.Awesome fishing and videos. Question about Gammarus Are they not naturally Grey in colour. Is copper your best colour, what about Olive or Grey.
Hello. Copper is the most classic color for tying gammarus patterns but they can be in many different colors. Many are sand colored, brown or even red.
Great video Robert 👌🎣. Never tried gamarrus before, I will need to tie some. Question what do you find best for fishing seatrout do you like the incoming tide or outgoing? Like here I find for Bass better on outgoing, so what do you prefer for seatrout?
@@FlyFishingbyRobert thanks Robert, will definitely give it a try 😊😊 this year I said I'll be fishing more for seatrout than bass as is more challenging 😊🎣🐟🐟
Great again! And if i´m not all wrong - a danish pattern created by Frank Jensen!? The salinity around Gotland is not very high. How much do you think about that when picking your spots around the island? How about weighting or not weighting you dropper fly - any experience of that?
Hi Robert, loving your videos really helping with cabin fever during lockdown in Ireland. Just wondering with regards to your set up your using a 7weigh vision stifu rod but an 8 weight line on the reel. Wondering how that works for you and do u recommend going a line heavier for sea trout. Keep the videos coming dude🤘
What's the highest water temperatures you find for fishing now and what would be the lowest you would fish during mid-winter? Surprised the fish still stay in turbulent waters this time of the year, but Gotland is probably different than mainland coast a bit northwards, I guess. Good video as always!
I measured 7 degrees water the other day. But that is quite extreme for it was a warm and strong wind. I fish as long as there is open water. A few weeks ago I fished in a bay that was colder than I thought it would be. I lost one sea trout in 1,5 degree water. The day after the bay was frozen 😂 So they can still be active in very cold water here but thats probably thanks to that the water ain't so salt here.
always love your stress free videos Robert, wish your where living in Störmstad :-) The Gammarus fly "Kopparbassen" do you think this is a good fly to start with to try a tie your self I will be starting from the being. I don't even have a stand!
Allô Robert. Is Gray the colour of the naturals in the water. It looks like it from your video. I don’t see you using Grey ones. Is there a reason for this. Just copper and green colours.
Fantastic. What country is this? Where is Gotland? I’m assuming this is saltwater? Sea-run Browns? In the US, it’s rare but there are sea-run brook and of course steelhead, but I’m not sure there are many opportunities for sea-run brown trout.
European winter same time Australian summer. Robert plenty of fresh/salt water fish to catch on fly here in summer, just saying mate. also lots of beaches to soak up the rays to wash the winter away as well. cheers.
Great video. 👍🏻 I'm looking forward to your next one. I'll tie the gammarus right away😀
Thanks. More is on the way ;)
Thanks for the excellent video and content. I'm going to tie those and try them here on the South African coast. Love salt water fly fishing.
Go for it!
Your channel just rock&roll !
Thanks!
👍 awesome clip! I admire your enthusiasm and dedication to seatrout fly fishing. .....and at same time, I am a little bit jealous😀

I knew that wet gloves in that cold weather, was the end of the fishing, cold water in the hands, bad thing, great vid, fish & tie, great mix
I kept fishing until dark but nothing happened :/ Nice to hear you liked the catch & tie mix. More is coming :)
@@FlyFishingbyRobert heyyy gooood you did, not many would, tough cold, changed gloves ??
I just made sure to get the body temperature up. Then the hands get warm too.
Beautiful fish

Hi
Great video💪🏻
Aren’t you use weight on the flies?
Keep going with the video 😊
Hi Robert
Where can I buy orange/copper Kopparbassen. Is it ice dub? Can you suggest perhaps a Danish shop that sells it.
Thanks
Nice video! Do you use intermediate line when fishing in that kind of shallow water?
Thank you. I use a floating line. I made a video about why I don't use an intermediate line ua-cam.com/video/UGuencIGSm8/v-deo.html
Do you mix the dubbing or do you put them in separately?
I mix it

Just copper and green colours.
are your flies for sea trout for sale any where i live on the west coast of wales and like to try them in our inlets
I have fish thows for many years. Can not get the hang of it. I proberly have fish them to fast. Tanks for the lesson.
Try a slower retrieve and experiment with the dubbing color. Make something unique. I like to make them more fluorescent and less flashy :)
Hi robert what do you think of the stifu rod I was thinking of getting 1
It's great. A very strong rod.
Nice filmklipp :) , brukar oxå fiska med kopperbassen, men som en upphängare. Nu kommer jag testa 2st sammtidigt!
Det har gett mig några dubblar faktiskt med dubbelmärla 🙂

Nice that you liked it! Yes, it is in saltwater. Gotland is in Sweden.
@@FlyFishingbyRobert you’re a master! Next time can you show what the flies look like underwater? Thanks!
Thanks man! In my other videos I use to do that. It was just too cold 😄
Another great video, what make of reel is that blue reel? Keep making the films
Thank you! The reel is Vision Merisuola 7-8
👌
👊🙂

But winter is the best! 😉😇
@@FlyFishingbyRobert 👍👍yes it is mate.
👍💪👏😍🎣🦈😜
I don,t think I could fish in that temperature....?
Could be dangerous, you could get frostbite.
