  • It is time for another catch and tie episode from the coast. It is perhaps the last episode of this sea trout season before I go north to fish other waters. Would you like to see this concept on other fish species as well? This video is a little bit special with a surprise, so I suggest you watch the video before reading further about today´s fly.
    For more info about my guided trips for sea trout:
    www.flyfishing...
    I work as a guide for Fish Your Dream:
    fishyourdream.com
    Material list:
    Hook: Ahrex Trout Predator Light size 1
    Thread: UTC-Thread 140 - fl. fl orange
    Tail: Bucktail - tan, Predator Dubbing - copper
    Body: Predator Dubbing - copper, Hareline Senyos Fusion Dubbing - Eat a Peach
    Head: Bucktail - orange, Predator Dubbing - copper
    Eyes: Fly Dressing Stick-On Eyes 3,9 mm - Pearl
    Superglue: Gulff Minuteman gel
    UV resin: first Gulff Fatman, then Gulff Thinman
    Tip: To get the eyes to grip well in the superglue and to give a nice 3D effect to the eyes I tie them down with Textreme Mono Thread while the glue cures. Then I unwind it before putting the resin on the head.
    My setup used in this video:
    Rod: Vision Stifu Seatrout 7wt 9´
    Reel: Vision Merisuola 7-8
    Line: Vision XO 8 wt floating

    Great video 👍🏻 your correct not to reveal all your spots after all it’s part of your lively hood income too, although most anglers enjoy C&R we all have those pot hunters that will take all fish from a smolt to a kelt and they don’t understand they are killing their own sport along with everyone else’s, keep up the good work 👍🏻🎣🐟🐟

    You are absolutely correct in regards to specific spots. The specific 200 meters of water you are fishing are not what is important. Bottom, conditions, water level, cloud cover, temperature, season and so on is much more important. So, instead of focusing on "not showing the spot" maybe you could focus on why you chose a specific spot for the day. Perhaps you could use a drone, or google maps, to showcase what you look for when fishing under specific conditions. That being said, its hard to show the reasons why you chose a specific spot, without showing people (who know the general area) where you fished. But yea, that would be what I would do. Use a portion of the video explaining why THIS is the spot you choose today over another spot.

    Good stuff. I tied flies as a kid and have been thinking of getting back into it. I've been buying my flies the last 10 years I've been back into salt water fly fishing. Your patterns are pretty simple which means less materials to buy initially and I think they actually may work were I live in the Pacific Northwest (USA). I just got set up for and caught my first Ling Cod (Ophiodon elongatus) on a fly last week. I'm fishing 30 to 60 feet deep. Huge fly with heavy sinking tip from a boat. 22 incher bent my 8 wt in half. These fish get up to 40 inches in my local waters. Tremendous fighters. Carry on!

    Thank's for share your knowledge with us, Robert. Here fishing will be allowed tomorrow after lockdown. I will try to find some sea bass and visit few spots in witch I hope could be some sea trouts. Our shore line is very wild and also the sea is much more brave that yours, but anyway I am optimist. I will tell you

    I can understand internet trolls trying to find out where you are in your videos ,but as for actual local people trying to find and fish from your videos is just petty. I like finding a spot myself and if it produces fish then i have a new honey hole .

    Har fiskat ett par gånger med den. Tycker dock den är sjukt obekväm att kasta. Är det mina som är för tunga? Hur upplever du att kasta med dom?
    När jag ser undervattensfilmen ser dina väldigt mycket lättare ut än min, kanske det som gör skillnaden.

    • @FlyFishingbyRobert
      @FlyFishingbyRobert  4 роки тому

      Vad är det som är obekvämt att kasta med? Tänkte först du pratade om ett spö 😆 båda flugorna gör jag väldigt lättdresserade. Jag får även mer fisk på dem då.

      @@FlyFishingbyRobert Sorry skrev kommentaren i början av videon då jag trodde att de skulle handla om endast Jiggy :) Jag tycker Jiggy är extremt "flängig", känns nästan som att kasta med en överklassig sjunklina. Blir inte mjuka rörelser för fem öre (för mig). Vet ej hur jag ska förklara det bättre. Kan som sagt vara så att min är aldeles för tung.

    • @FlyFishingbyRobert
      @FlyFishingbyRobert  4 роки тому

      Ja, det var ju tanken med videon att den skulle handla om jiggy 😅 jag har börjat göra dem ganska lätta nu med lite material så de ändå jiggar fint. En grov tafs är ett måste. Tänk dig en gäddfluga är omöjlig att kasta med en torrflugetafs. Taperad tafs i 0,38 mm (svårt att hitta men finns bland annat i Vision prisma och ace serierna) till det tippet i 0,36 mm eller 0,33 mm. Det är vad jag använder till jiggyfly.

      @felixq müller Oh. You mean those. They are from Fish Monkey. They are sold out, at least here in Sweden. I asked and was told that they are hopefully back in stock this fall.
