In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion. - Комедії
John messing around with fonts, choosing wingdings, and then forgetting what he wrote was some hilarious stuff, great episode all around.
He started off using Wingdings with caps, then the second time he typed it he didn't, so it changed.
I liked Alex's reaction when he almost dropped the computer
@@Becky-uz8em That was the cherry on top
Reading your words compounded how pointless life is. It made me glad I'm not the only useless prick on this planet.
@@Becky-uz8em oh my, have you never seen humans do things before?
I love how Dara was the one openly admitting to struggling technologically and then walked away with 10 points
And Munya did the exact opposite.
Legend.
Given Greg's love of the laminator, it was only a matter of time before it appeared in a task.
Laminatoooorr
How a laminator is stationary is beyond me!
@@redelfshotthefood8213 😮
@@redelfshotthefood8213 for one, it doesn't move around much
@@redelfshotthefood8213
From what I gather, stationary in England is office supplies in the US.
I love that Munya thinks they need a "fast setting", for lamination emergencies. "Scotty I need this laminated in the next 30 seconds or we're all dead!"
As a certified young person, I have to agree with him. Lamination should by no means take as long as it does. It's absurd. /hj
@@RToast13 Lamination is inherently a thing we do to documents to make them last a long time... Your complaint feels ironic... But I don't understand the concept of irony... All that comes to mind is "I got my sterile uncle pregnant on my girlfriend's pull out couch" and that isn't even a correct quote of those song lyrics cause obviously you can't get your sterile uncle pregnant I just mixed up the order for no apparent reason yet chose to say it anyways knowing it's wrong... Cause I'm fucking insane. Fucking toodles!!!
@@RToast13 They are using consumer-level equipment and software. As a certified professional wide format printer, I can confirm that this is the slowest way to make paper signs with overlaminate. @@RToast13 Yes, it is rather cool.
I enjoy my job.
John choosing Wingdings is probably the biggest self-sabotage I've seen in a task since Q.
Perhaps of the unintentional variety.
I think the biggest, or at least most spectacular, intentional self-sabotage was during the balloon/portculus task from Series 12 when Desiree bought an entire bucket of forks for 1 hour when the scissors cost only 8 minutes.
David Baddiel in the back drawing task doesn't count because he was sabotaging Ed and was merely collateral damage.
All that said, John's self-sabotage was only bad because he managed to forget what he wrote and couldn't reproduce it later. Those signs were still possible to follow unlike a few of Fern's.
John seems destined to self-sabotage even worse later in the series.
Nope, it has to be the exotic sandwiches.
dare I ask what was Q(are you talking about impractical jokers)
@@Robyamdam Nope but I can see why you'd think so 😂I was talking about when David Baddiel chose 'Q' as his letter right before finding out he had to put items beginning with Q on the tray
Well he is the king of sabotage.
Actually John is sort of right. Wingdings gives you different symbols depending on the caps lock key. He wrote sign in capital letters but then caps lock was off when he tried to recreate it on the laptop.
Wingdings is an inherent universal wrong. Never trust a wing or a ding. They are evil. They know when you are sleeping they know when you are awake they know if you've been bad or good so fucking never sleep again!!! Their watching you!!! THEIR WATCHING!!!
Yup. That’s because upper case and lower case are different Unicode characters. If you really want to confuse people use characters that look like Latin characters (a) but aren’t (а)
I was a little bit surprised that "bifurcate into two separate poos" was not the title of the entire episode because that was amazing.
Or “Live, Laugh, Gin”
If nobody minds I might just use that as the name of my autobiography
Given how Dara swept this episode, it's only fitting that he also provided the name for it
"Print. Laminate. Distribute." and "The Joker Man's Seat" would have been excellent choices too.
I love dara specified high value kidnappers. The poor ones aren't a worry apparently.
“Can I ask a question? What’s a PS5?”
“Play Station.”
“Ohhh…for children.”
Sara savaging her teammate.
I'm also pretty sure there's a toy for toddler like one of those little diaper waker things called that but I'm not even remotely certain so idk why I started this statement with pretty sure.
If by any chance they do a "Losers of Losers" type of thing John already got himself a spot. Dude is hilarious!
No, he's useless.
John somehow managing to make the least signs and also obey the least signs.

I am glad to see a task that employs the king of the stationary items, only sad it's not the one Kerry Godliman brought in.
that one was a prize and went home with a contestant.
@@acolytetojippity we know, hence why we're saying kerry should be here because she loves laminators like Greg does as evident from the prize task
@@acolytetojippity Good point. It's not like Taskmaster has the budget to afford a second laminator.
Probably a good thing after seeing the one they did use get abused...
@@amemelia Which isn't what the original comment in this thread says. ;-)
8:46 when Munya pulls the sign out of the laminator and it lands on the seat in the other row, I wonder if they included that one or not - the sort of thing I was expecting Alex to wait until the end before bringing up in his usual "gotcha" way, but he never did!
Given that Munya followed all his instructions, I would assume he found it and did whatever it said
It would sort have been a reverse gotcha, because that sign says "Give Munya extra points for artistic flair"!
@@hjt091 I assume Munya happens to be from Sheffield. That would mean that ge accidentally obeyed the instruction that got away.
Scream 1, 2, 3
I did wonder about that. It could be the sign that ended up on the floor though. It said something like «don’t sit here». It wold have been a great gotcha moment though. Too bad really.
When I saw the task, I started thinking "Who is gonna be doing these instructions" and thinking of simple things like "lift your right leg" "lift your left leg" as easy things write, but also easy things to do.
Watching this show so much has given me a sixth sense for when there's a second task coming.
I was also thinking of this but also one-word instructions that would be quick to type so "sit" "stand" "sing" "jump" etc
I would have tried "sit in the chair with the page number 1 less than this one" (which probably would have screwed me over with an impossible task at the very end but that makes it funny)
My immediate instinct was that it would be _another_ contestant following my instructions, and whoever got the most done the slowest would win. So I would've done possible but time-consuming instructions, and lost lol
Yh my immediate thought was "move one seat along" and then "move two seats along" etc. cos it's quick to copy & paste and u cld essentially just repeat the same one throughout
Agree!
I was there before even the second task appearing with all my signs saying: "
Say "1"
Say "2"
Say "3"
And so on. Very easy to come up with a very large number of instructions (presumably Excel was on the computers, allowing each sheet to be automatically populated with multiple instructions lines) and obeying would've been a breeze....
Oh I bet Kerry was gutted she didn’t get this task on her season
LAMINATOR!
Alex's lead-in to the task (not shown here) referenced that amazing moment!
"Bifurcate into two separate poos" has got to be an all-time original sentence.
Haven't listened to the podcast episode yet, so they may have mentioned it, but the reason the Wingdings didn't match up is he typed the sign in upper case. When he was running around with the laptop, he was using lower case-which obviously has different symbols.
Hmm interesting I feel like I should test that.
I mean, it's not a BAD idea to watch out for the Gruffalo.
I love John's feeble attempt at trying to gaslight what the task actually said.
I remember starting this season thinking that John Kearnes was a pretty clever speccy brainy looking guy who would bring a level of thoughtfulness and intelligence to this show.
This task is a beautiful ode to that golden moment between Kerry & Greg
Ah yes, Wingdings. The most important font used when making signs.
Everyone who knows this show should have foreseen the second part of the task :)
Anyone up for an exotic sandwich?
@@MikeDCWeld "oh, lovely"
@@MikeDCWeld Or extinct animal charades?
Every time I see the laminator at work in my head I'm shouting 1-2-3 LAMINATOOOOR!
For some reason I want them to do a "your time started when you entered the building". You just know someone's going to mess around to explore the building or something before reading the task.
My idea was to make signs with an action and change the number only. So it's quick to type and print
Ex hop 1x, Hop 2x, hop 3x etc
So I'd have been hopping a lot lol
“Live. Laugh. Gin” is my new motto
When Sarah said “ah, for children.” All I could think of was “only the shiniest ones….mwaaaa”
A reason why the wingdings symbols changed could be because he typed them in different cases, the symbols change if they are uppercase / lowercase.
How can you exist as a "celeb" in the UK and not ever have seen any episode of TM? This task has "trap" written all over it...
My first instinct was to go "touch your nose with your right thumb", "touch your nose with your right pointer finger" etc.
Didn't know how easy that would make the second part.
All fun and games unless you don't have a nose or thumbs.
I would have done a lot of "don't" instructions, then I don't have to do anything.
My instinct was "yell 1" "yell 2" etc 😂
@@petalb4677 Mine was to print "don't say 1", "don't say 2", "don't say 3" in really small font, maybe 30 to a page... Would have been dull as hell to watch, but I'd have won both sections :D
greg's face after what fern said was so precious
Seems the rule "all the signs must be different" was forgotten...
Dave Gorman mentioned this on the Podcast too
Are we sure about this? Alex may have only counted the signs that were different.
@@matthewlloyd3654 Good idea, I'm not sure.
It could be it's is one of those things like breathing. You had to do it, but it wasn't point worthy, so... fuckin leave it.
My immediate thought was actually to exploit the rule "each sign must have a different instruction". I would have printed off many signs that all said "sit in this seat". Placing them on different seats changes the sign's instruction. Would have worked perfectly for the part 2 to the task too.
@@AtomixKingg
Pretty good.
I think I wouldn't have been that clever, but I would have tried it programmatically. First sign says clap 1 times, second sign says clap 2 times, etc.
Do it in a spreadsheet to get as many as you like.
Taskmaster is a drug for me. A drug that I am heavily dependent on.
😅 i feel the exact same...except about cocaine.
Somewhere Kerry Godliman cries at not be able to take part in this task
when they read the task, i was immediately "this sure is a 2-parter" but then went "nahhh, that's too much work"
so happy to see the laminator callback, Kerry godliman would be proud
"What font?"
"I've always liked Georgia"
I like this guy
Hint, if the task doesn't have winning criteria, it's a trap!
"the most signs" sounds like a winning condition to me
@@wolfgangmcq they almost always end with "whoever does the most/fastest/best X wins. Your time starts now." The ones that don't say that more often than not are traps or solo tasks, etc.
@@ericaschner3283you literally just included “most” in that list, which was the part 1 win condition

that got me😂😂😂😂
"- Can I ask a question? What's a PS5?"
"- PlayStation."
"- Oh! For children. Yep!"
Munya: angry Pikachu face. 🤣
Why did nobody question ‘gruffalo’ as maybe not being quite an instruction
Yeah, it bugged me that they gave John grief about whether his signs were instructions, but Dara was given points for "The Gruffalo" and "Muntjack Deer" which are clearly not instructions. He wrote "Watch out for" on the top of the pages and then just had a list of different things, but once you separate, laminate and put all the pieces on the different seats, only the first one's on each page that included the "Watch out for" are actually instructions, so his total should have been 1 for each page he printed, which was about 2 or 3.
"A LAMINATORRRRRR!"
I love laminators so much. I wish I had something to laminate now. I’m surprised by the lack of knowledge on laminating. I used to laminate things all the time as a little kid. At least once a month when I was like 5. It was very useful.
I'd have just made my signs
clap 1 time
Clap 2 times
Clap 3 times
Quick and easy to replicate and print and would have worked well for 2nd half to 😂
Although that would have been a lot of clapping as you get farther in the second half. At least, unless they include the previous claps
This was my exact same thought as well
Much easier when you know you're gonna have to do them lmfao
@@richardmclean9479 no but I would have done that even without knowing the 2nd part of the challenge....you can just copy paste the text and quickly go down add a quick number and print...much much faster than coming up with and typing loads of different things
Yeah I thought about that too. You could copy "times! {new line} Clap" and then just hit CTRL+V 1 CRTL+V 2 CTRL+V 3 and so on.
You'd get a lot of tasks on one paper, then after laminating it you can cut it and distribute it.
Then when the second part of the task was shown I imediatly thought this way would be brilliant for it too. Just Clap for 3 minutes. Because you don't have to say when you start a new task... so the production crew would have to count all your claps to see how many tasks you'ce done.
2:13 OMG HES JUST LIKE ME I LOVE GEORGIA
Working at a Print Studio myself, I have thought of 10 different ways to do this task.
0:22 Sicily -> Silly. Love it.
"Oh! For children... yep."

I'm sure series 7 winner, The Laminate Queen, Greg's Best Friend, would appreciate at least a third of this task
Kerry Godliman
Best use of the word Bifurcate I have ever heard
Print, Laminate and Bifurcate the most poos.
Taskmaster under the gutter, coming to Channel 4 soon.
Ironically, I'd have gone spreadsheet and auto-filled "Go to gate 1..2...", hundreds of instructions in minutes!
I can confidently say that they wouldn't be able to broadcast my reaction to being handed the second task..
I love that there was absolutely NO NEED AT ALL for this task to be set at Gatwick Airport. (Much like the previous toilet one.) 😂
They had Gatwick to themselves because the South Terminal was closed June 2020 - March 2022, so damned if they didn't use it.
There is often NO NEED AT ALL to set *any* of the tasks on location, but clearly it's a production decision to add some variety to the show both visually and in terms of the objects available to the contestants.
My immediate impulse was to make profane instructions, and I thought of "Shit your pants" and then "Shit my pants", and I would have found a way to at least confiscate Alex's trousers as retribution, lol
At this point, I think it's probably safe to assume that John will be finishing the series in fifth place. The real question is if he'll join the "won no episodes" club
Who’s in the the won no episodes club? Or will John be it’s founder?
@@PS-vm3we Romesh Ranganathan, Joe Wilkinson, Sara Pascoe, Aisling Bea, Nish Kumar, Phil Wang, Judi Love
To be fair if I remember right Ardal O'Hanlon was pretty terrible in the first couple of episodes last series but bounced back later on and scored a couple of wins (so basically the opposite of Alice Levine), But then again that series had Judi Love to balance things out, this one... not so much

This entire episode was the most unhinged in the entire show's history, and I love it.
Really wish these included some extra content from the cutting room floor, rather than just being the exact same thing we've already seen.
It's for people who haven't seen it in other countries. It's not just about you

3:58 is giving 'waiting outside the head teacher's office'
Oh,for children... (Sarah referring to a PS5)
"Live, Laugh, Gin" definitely sounds like my kind of sign!
I love them already
Here I was thinking I could write "take 1 step" in the top cell of an Excel sheet and drag down, thus creating "take 2 steps", "take 3 steps", etc. Then I could copy-paste into a document and create a page break between each instruction and hit print on 40 instructions. Laminate while they're printing, keep it to 12 pt font to speed up page dispersal. Then, all I would need to do in the second part of the task would be to take 820 steps.
Love John haha what a gem
This might be my favourite episode
So many people apparently saw this or any "follow up" task coming... I didn't, i'm hopelessly naive in these things, but i wonder how much rational foresight anyone can actually have left in these kinds of stressful situations. And don't be fooled, for most comedians to be on national telly with the need to be funny is stressful, no matter how talented they are. I remember people like Lee Mack comment on how they went in complete panic mode.
The Season 7 contestants forgot about the siren task they were told about. It's entirely possible to not predict what you don't know.
Plus most of the tasks are timed, which is an added stress! It's very easy to think up clever answers from the comfort of our homes, but in the moment I'm sure all of us would have at least some moments of deer-in-headlights panic.
If aliens asked me to prove a reason for humanity to exist, i would introduce them to Sarah. Shes an absolute treasure
Great Task!
Now I know what I'm doing next time I'm stuck in an air port for a few hours.
I would have printed a stack of "Say hello to the person in seat [___]" then printed laminated, then written a different number on each sign.
"He went to Cambridge!" is the only thing I've understood Fern say
John: "I COULDN'T READ HALF OF THEM!!!"
Me: "And who's fault is that?"
Victoria Coren Mitchell must be unbelievably jealous of this task and everyone involved in it.
haha Looks like a great season again
Is there any other kind? 😄
Me just being like how did they not all know they would have to obey the signs. The told you to give commands of course they're going to give them to you
Could you set the font size to super tiny and do like 50 on a page and then cut it up and place the tiny ones for speed.
Dara and Fern both did multiple signs per sheet. The video shows them using a cutter that was provided for them.
That is the obvious way to go since the laminator does not have a Fast setting, much to Munya's chagrin.
I immediately recognized this was a trap and wanted someone to make a sign that said "Breathe for at least 0.01 seconds" and then increment the duration by 0.01 seconds for each new sign.
This was the moment Dara became Pointsenberg.
That's the second time they've been at an airport
gawd i can't wait for full episodes... will they upload them here once the series is over? or was that just a pandemic thing?
The next series to be uploaded is 11, it'll be a year or two until 14 has finished syndication, it hasn't even left the UK yet.
@@krashd ah okay, thanks
Did Munya even obey the sign that landed on the other side?
Thumbnail got me thinking, the Daleks would be far less intimidating if they chanted "Laminate". Everyone thought they were evil, but really they just want more documents protected from general wear and tear.
Alex reminds me of Tommy Smothers 💖
This is a good task - we get to watch old people struggle with technology, it's a fun two-part task, and it balances it with fewer instructions (making the % easier)
