@@UnityMotorSportsGarage Ported stock heads will outflow all but the best BBF 385 series heads, cams are cams, as long as they keep the roller rate lobes we should see normal lifts of 0.685 and much more for pure race application and solid lifters. We know a 4.25 stroke will fit in a 9.5 deck windsor. Supposedly this motor has more room in the bottom end to clear the cam tunnel and a taller deck height. 9.65 I think. Should be good for a 4.5 stroke, but at minimum a 4.40. If you take the stock bore (4.22) and roll 0.080 over pistons, and get a 4.40 crank. You're look at 512 cubes from a small block.
That being said, we should see 650 to the tire pretty easily in the next year naturally aspirated if street daily driveable service conditions. For all out race itll be over 1khp.

Ford has the best interior, exterior and now has a really good transmission, but I haven’t been too impressed with any of their motors for reliability since the 7.3. The 4.53 bore spacing puts it smaller than the Ford FE, Pontiac, and Olds V8's, which were right around 4.625. The original Caddy OHV and Chrysler Early Hemis were 4.56. Small block Chevies and LS's are 4.40. The new 7.3 has a 4.22" bore, and won't have much room to grow beyond a 4.25 bore. Max intake valve size should be about 2.25, which was a common size for big block Chevies of the classic era.

BIG $$$$$$$ Great Engines without a doubt..Ford, Mopar and GM they all have great engines but i think the big question here is for the average DIY is. Which engine is easier to work on and makes the most power for the money invested into it?

    • @save16thave

@@Mfil This Godzilla engine is definitely a big boy and should out power your average 5.3 ls on displacement alone. Hopefully they are relatively affordable once they start hitting the junkyards in wrecked trucks. I'm into 60s Ford's with the big shock towers. It's really hard to fit a Coyote in those older Ford's. This 7.3 should be just the ticket. I'm hoping for aftermarket carbureted intakes.

Like i stated a great engine. My thoughts are that besides the cost which i believe that it would be quite a bit (Even if you're fortunate enough to find one of these in the junk yard it is going to cost BIG $ for that engine) and then there's another cost to install it. Did you see the amount of hacking and extra parts needed that has to be bought and done to a FOX body just to installed one of these? The bottom line is..All it takes is Money!
