My vote would be to put a MODIFIED 7.3 into the BULLITT MUSTANG.
You know, I imagined a modern Boss 429, even though this engine doesn't have "shotgun-Hemi" heads like the old one and is bigger than 429 cubic inches (7.3 equals to about 445 ci, I think).
But then again, Jon Kaase made Boss-style heads to fit standard 460 blocks, so I wonder if he could come up with something similar for this new block...
I love this motor but it is a bit heavy. Have to watch balance in the vehicle.

Holy hell, that torque curve! It makes 500ft-lbs literally everywhere. This thing is gonna be incredible with a Whipple on it!
Look at that dyno cell. You guys run a tight ship. You are the type of guys that I want to work with.
Wait til Ford changes to the larger CD6 platform for the Mustang, then drop a 7.3 into it and call it the BOSS.
Man that thing sounds rowdy . now everyone can quit putting ls engine in fox bodies or any other ford. BLUE OVAL FOREVER!!!💪💪
Just hope they realize that this engine will make a load of initial torque. A lot more than a ls, 7.3 liters worth, yikes! Learned my lesson when me and my buddy put a 502 in an 87 Monte Carlo. Broke the windows and turned the body like a corkscrew.

Man I am so in love with this new engine , to see a OE ford V8 that at the base truck model shits on a ls7 makes my heart swell with pride.
To be honest all of the experts like Nelson Race Engines who do both GM and Ford still think ls7 stuff is superior lol don't shoot the messenger just repeating what I've seen.

7.3L with ported factory heads making almost 800hp but setup for a supercharger. This motor is going to crush some bowties.
FORD needs to make the BOSS 429 with this and add a blower for 1100hp, to end all debates.

This is the "mystery motor" that has been showing up at the tracks for the past few years.
@@utahcountypicazospage5412 it's the first off . It will alway be expensive. I'm sure people will figure out cheaper ways of make that power.
I'm sure the stock rockers can handle some power . I'm also sure titanium vavles aren't needed at the power level .
Porting is porting . You get what you pay for .
Pistons by choise and rods by choise .I wouldn't go with aluminum for that power level ..
Spinning a 7.3L motor to 7600 ain't no joke, man.
in the realm of high performance engines there are engines over 8.8 liters spinning up to 7500, especially considering there is a set of aluminum rods in there which is twice the price of a regular set of rods on top of it being a one off set
I built a 864 cube inch mountain motor ran it to 9000 rpm made peak power at 8600
That’s not high Richard holdner revs old school big blocks to that so this new engine definitely should after 15,000.00 of custom parts

“Truck engine” riggghhttt. Fords rendition of the ls, which is gm’s rendition of a windsor. What a time to be alive. This will 100% be replacing my 11’ 6.7 in the future
How was the LS a rendition of the Windsor? Now the deep skirted block and cross bolted mains were seen back in the 1960s 427 FE block with cross bolted mains. That the only similarity to older ford engines.
@@Turbo_Todd it takes a lot of characteristics off the Windsor. Like the firing order was changed to the fords firing order, and the heads have essentially the same ports and bolts per cylinder. And same bore spacing. All in all it's a stronger small block. But some say it's a ground up design which is hard to believe considering the similarities or "copied parts"
@@Turbo_Todd but that is just what I have read rolling around I really would like to see them side by side because the internet is a shitshow of rumors and things

Great job Brian, well worth the wait!
That sounds super crisp!!! Can't wait to see it with the Whipple!!!
That is really amazing power. I'd love to see a build for max torque though so it would work well in a heavy truck like my classic 78 F250 4x4. Love to drop one of these newer motors in it but I don't want to run racing fuel or rev the motor to nearly 8 grand.
To bad Ford doesn't put this motor in the new mach 1 even as a option that would be very cool.
To bad they won't offer it in anything really, this will be so expensive as a crate motor, just go LS
@@samduran5180 if you got the money why not get it, itll shit on anything LS, LS to me is what you can get on the cheap and still have left over money to rebuild and upgrade parts
@@jaimegarcia2930 Haven't you read the specs on these new 7.3, they have an 8 foot timing chain and a thin cylinder wall. So they can go to around 800 hp 680+- whp but boost them and you have issues. And to boot they kept their stupid little cam phasers which is another weak point. But true if you have the money they would look cool in show Ford.
We can get a 7.3 Godzilla crate engine from Ford it costs $8,150 plug and play . As for cam phasers the 3rd gen hemi has it too. What I really like about the 7.3 Godzilla it reminds me of the 351 Cleveland, they were awesome motors didn't need aftermarket heads like the ls engines do. I'm wondering if Steeda would do a swap. @@jaimegarcia2930 😆😆😆 That's a good one! Next you're going to say that Fords are reliable! 😆😆🤔
3 years later and these engines haven't been getting the attention they deserve yet, not a lot of options out there for parts, not a lot of articles and videos of builds. A few months ago bare 7.3 blocks were $995, they're $1500 now, still much cheaper than an L8T 6.6L, Dart LS or Windsor block, LSX or anything like that and with all the potential, heads are $620 each new assembled to go. Weisco has pistons, Molnar has rods. Callies is supposed to have cranks up to 4.6" stroke coming finally. With a 4.225" bore and a 4.6" stroke that makes 522ci. I would like to think one could make at least 800hp relatively easy with steel rods in a 522ci Godzilla with ported heads, a honking cam and that intake with a 105mm TB and be able to keep the rpms under 7000. Hopefully the Godzilla gets the support it deserves because it's much better bang for the buck to build new from scratch than an LS/LT and possibly a 9.5" Windsor. It's not much larger externally yet it can support much more CIs, it's strong, great heads and hopefully it will be allowed to be a budget friendly choice so it proliferates the way GM and Windsor have been, rather than being murdered in the cradle with greed or indifference and forgotten like the 6.2 SOHC.
7600 RPM!😃
Awesome man!
N/A 780hp... but that’s for a supercharge build this thing will be insane. Well it’s already insane but.. I have no words

But that was then and I'm over it now. +1 ... What a beautiful sounding beast!
I want one that engine in my car. Make a carburetor setup for that joker. That should be insane.
The new Godzilla engine looks like a Roush/Yates designed engine. Good jobs guys, keep up the good work!
“Spun everything to 7,600”
WHATS?!?!?!
7600 rpms from a big block ! I know that’s not unheard of but no more work then has been done to it .
Crazy! And everyone keeps saying pushrod motors are dead, between this and the LS, LT motors I think they are wrong
Years of trial and error overhead cam stuff is pretty good and getting to be stout but 50 years of pushrod has it down
I don't agree . They both have there purpose.
You make much more power with less cub in a mods motor . The simplicity of the push rods motor will keep it alive for ever .
Both are awesome . I personally would go for a mods motor .
Tony Spadafino is there a normally aspirated mod motor making 800 horsepower? I’m not being a jerk, I’ve just never seen one

@@calebnation7797 how does it screw up handling, many stick big block chubbies and Big block Fords in Fox bodies. They don't have an issue with handling. It's how you set your car up and what components you use.
Sweet N/A numbers! Those saw cuts between the bores really bother me though for a boosted application. It will be interesting to see a >10-12 psi boost test on these.
Wish Ford would make a drag pack option and make the 7.3 an option
now that's a proper intake manifold/plenum ... now drill a nitrous port

I laughed the entire time! That thing is insane!! Great job guys! 790 all motor. 😎Wow!
I like how you rigged the gas pedal to the accelerator cable/rod. Analog to digital conversion lol
Once the market gets flooded with these and the truck guys build every combo known to man the price on parts will drop dramatically. It has all the good stuff the LS motors have plus a larger bore which gives room for larger valves. Ultimately, these will make insane power with the right head and intake combo.
If we support thr brand they can keep the motor in production. Meaning anything Ford down to Mazda we can have cool things. We just support trucks and Mustang and that aint going to cut it.
There are never enough fan boys to keep something like this viable. If it doesn't work in the marketplace it will die. This might live as long as the MEL.
Ever think about getting a long block [well to an extent] from Shelby Enginese? They have some very cool updates to the Windsor series... 351, 427, 428's... Even a Hemi Ford crossbred aluminum block that looks pretty amazing. Well worth looking in on them. Pretty sure they've done some things with Godzilla motors as well :-))
