- Hey guys, this is a guide for lancer builds in the vanguard vs infernal matchup, and is very effective against double conclave styles, and overall just a very strong build. Remember, you can make the build order however you want, it all comes down to what you want to do with the second bob overcharge.
Do not be scared with the lancers.

Love the video, thanks! The depth of the vanguard macro is already so great, and I have been loving lancer micro. In terms of watching these videos from a viewer perspective-I think it would improve my viewing experience if you bumped up the graphical settings when watching replays if that's possible (I also like to play on low graphics). Just a thought from some guy on the internet. Loving all these stormgate videos, and can't wait for the next!
Yeah there is an issue with my setup at the moment, if I can resolve that I will be able to up the quality. So maybe not for a couple of videos.

I’ve been going 1 base, 2 lancers, into 2nd base, into 4 rax plus rax upgrades, then building lancers/exos until 3rd, then upgrade command post, add more rax, add some med techs. Sometimes I can attack right after getting 10 or so exos and win

I like the game play but it dosent feel right yet. not enough unit variety or distiction. Keep working im buying it still
What could an infernal player do to counter this play? It seems so strong.
Opening with a vault really helps. Magmadons do quite well vs lancers.
But I won't lie it's not easy. This style does excel vs mass gaunt ofc.

I actually tried this two days ago, but the he played the goon drop that hits at 4:10 (I guess one mistake of me was building too many sentry post). Can you show a game where you defend vs early doombringer? He was just permanently harassing and out ranging the lancers. I did attack with a second group but it was barely not enough to kill him and I lost at the end. Just would like to see your decision making when facing this.
I'll try to get one at some point. A good example is kiwian vs parting in egc semi finals game 1.
You can ignore the first doombringer and just deal with it with your reinforcements. Use overcharge and grab the luminite workers and just auto repair with them.
Eventually add turrets if the harass is ongoing, but leave 2 lancers in each mineral line. It becomes a battle of multitasking skill!
what mass dogs also be an options against double conclave?
Probably but you NEED the upgrade to do anithing and they fall of prety hard mid to late game so yes but the lancer play is usually better now
Not really. They get so outscaled, that past 6 gaunts you are just giving fiends to your opponent.

Funny how long its taken vanguard players to figure out that spamming only lancers/exos/medis will literally win you 99.9% of your games.
It still struggles against flaming imps and mags. Was just a smart reaction to double conclave openers. Does a lot worse vs brutes, and if you don't shut down the drop eventually you are going to be sad.
What else will Vanguard make? Hedgehogs have to move after they shoot, Vulcans have to stay still while shooting for maximum dps and Atlas are siege units. So why make all these units if you don't already have a strong infantry force to cover their weaknesses?
